After visiting with some family and in search of a coffee to start the day this was on our way back home and their drink specials stood out. Firstly, they had about 10 or 12 specials for the month compared to most spots having usually 5 at most. So many of them sounded good with some highlights being Birthday Cake Latte, Blueberry Pancake Latte, Strawberry Shortcake Latte, Blueberry Chai, & Coconut Matcha. A special for everyone's taste/preference. Mentioned in their about section of the website they were looking to create not only a place to grab a coffee but a place to gather. I would say as first time visitors it appeared they accomplished that goal. They created a welcoming and overall great atmosphere that would be such a nice spot to swing in to catch up with friends or bring the family for drinks and baked goods. Which based on signage they create all the baked goods in house and looked like they had a great variety. Coffee wise they support local and use beans from a fellow Maine business, Black Ink Coffee in Bangor. My wife got the Blueberry Pancake Iced Latte and I got the Strawberry Shortcake Iced Latte. Both had tons of flavor, definitely sweet though so be mindful if that isn't your thing. Lastly, we had each got a sausage egg and cheese on an english muffin. Let me say they were some of the largest english muffins I have had. The egg was also seasoned much more than you usually get. A top-notch breakfast sandwich I would return for. Quick and friendly service with delicious food and drinks. A coffee spot I would find myself returning to!

One of my most disappointing bites…read more I went here for the Dubai croissant, the pictures were pretty and perfect, unfortunately that's where it stopped. The croissant looked crisp and airy, not over filled. But when you bit into it there was no crunch, completely lacking that delicate glass like texture that really makes a croissant. It felt days old stale and thick, no layers, just a block of filled bread. The breakfast sandwiches are premade and microwaved (at least that as the texture) to order. Underseasoned and dull. The coffee on the other hand was good. I'd go back for the coffee, definitely not the breakfast or pastries.

Not to mention, I was so tempted to order all the lovely baked goods and treats. They looked amazing. I walked in thinking I'd order something simple, but Jocelyn somehow anticipated exactly what I wanted before I even said it -- an oatmeal latte with honey infused right into the espresso. It was warm, silky, lightly sweet, and honestly one of the most thoughtful, dialed‑in drinks I've had anywhere. You can tell when someone really knows their craft, and she absolutely does. We also grabbed the curried chicken sandwich, which was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect balance of creamy and bright. It's the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid‑bite and go, "Wait... this is really good." The whole place has that cozy‑local‑favorite energy -- friendly staff, great food, and the kind of coffee that makes you want to reroute your trip just to come back again. If you're driving through Freeport, Camden, or anywhere along the coast, Wild Oats is 100% worth the detour.

We went with a non-traditional theme which included cupcakes a wedding topper cake for the dessert. We chose Grant's Bakery to do the topper cake and worked with Gary, one of their cake makers. Gary walked us through their process, portfolio and what options were available to us. He understood our theme and produced a white and gold themed topper cake which was spot on. My wife LOVED it and it. Unfortunately my wife and I were not able to have the cake for our wedding reception as we had to cancel due to a major incident impacting several of our Maine towns, but Gary was patient and willing to still make the cake despite their store being shut down for 2-3 days due to the incident. We pushed the due date for the cake to be ready, out a few days and when my wife picked it up, she LOVED it and complimented him several times on how he hit the theme with colors and the simplistic design. We were not looking for a large elaborate cake and despite the simple design, it exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Grant's Bakery for your wedding cake needs!
