Problem: when tomato season is in full swing in Central Cali, a semi-upscale diner should be able to offer vine-ripened not the pink,gas-ripened in a box slice I removed from my hamburger. This the best place for breakfast/brunch in Tower! My server was Cindy and she was so sweet, attentive, and helpful. I also love all the natural lighting from the huge windows along the wall! My friend and I both got the Mega Mimosas and it had a decent ratio of champagne to mixer. I got the strawberry flavor and it was perfect and not overly sweet. I ordered the salmon with lemon-herb and my friend ordered the steak and eggs. Both were delicious and there was plenty to take home! There's also a breakfast buffet available if you're feeling extra hungry, available after 10:30am on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. They have a full bar here if you'd like to try some spirits, beer, or wine. I tried cristalino tequila for the first time and it was delicious! I really wanted to love this place, but eh'... So the service was nice. The manager and our waitress Summer were really sweet. But the food is just basic. We went here because of the 4.5 stars on Yelp, but we weren't feeling it. The big bummer here is for drinkers, they have a drink menu but no name brand alcohol... So they have plastic bottle Vodka, Tequila etc. We are more of Titos, Greygoose or Patron/Casamigos type. My friend enjoyed her Cajun pasta and the Micheladas. The shrimp on it was good! I had the ribeye but it didn't look like a rib eye?? I asked for it Chicago Style, the chef missed the mark, no trace of butter at all. Yes, I asked for well done, but every chef can't get it right. My family and I arrived for lunch on a Saturday. We were promptly sat but then proceeded to wait 45 minutes for food after we ordered without any visits by our server. Upon asking for our food, it then took 5 minutes to come out, so I'm not sure what miscommunication happened between the kitchen staff and front of the house. While we were waiting we saw another party just leave without eating, so I know we weren't the only ones waiting. When the food came out, it was okay at best. The positive was that the portion sizes are HUGE for the prices we paid, comes with large side salads too. I asked for my steak sandwich to be medium well, but some pieces turned out well done, and one piece was raw (which I didn't eat). The dishes my family ordered were inconsistently seasoned. When it came time for our check, the staff apologized for the wait and gave us a couple of free desserts. But, if you write a Yelp review they will give a free dessert anyways (which is why I'm assuming the average review is high). read more

Dont order online unless you want to wait an hour and a half for mediocre pancakes. After 45 minutes of no updates I tried calling, no answered. Drove to Aromas was told it would be ready in 10. A party of 2 came in directly after me. They received their food and drinks before I did. Waited another 45 minutes inside without being offered a drink or anything before finally receiving my food. Stay away from French Dip! By far worst French dip I've ever had. Barely any meat, dry chunks of meat, and a salt dip. If an item can't be executed don't have it on your menu. read more

Special advertisement on front of restaurant says $12.99 for chicken fried steak and eggs. I specifically ask for this and was charged $16.00. I asked the waitress about the charge and she said the banner was a misprint. She also said she could not change the price to the advertised price because the manager wouldn't let them. Further stating that chicken fried steak was normally $21 and so the discount to $16 is what the banner should've said. The banner for $12.99 is clearly the largest banner on the front of the restaurant to try and bring people in. read more

First time at Aromas! We were looking for a great bloody Mary in Fresno and came upon Aromas!! What an amazing surprise!! The bloody Mary's and dishes were great!! Cecilia was super helpful in describing the drink menu and dishes. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere and attentiveness. I came for the brunch buffet Sunday 12/29, while my Husband ordered a plate. The brunch menu was more like dinner item menus, which I was not expecting, still gave it a try, waffles were cold and hard. French toast was also cold, so that itself was disappointing. The egg omelette was tasty! I'll give them that it was made on order they provide a slip to add what you'd like. It was our second time here, the first time was great. Not sure why it was different this time. I would still recommend coming, but I will look at the menu again, and hope waffles/french toast are warm next time, and looking for more breakfast foods. read more

The omelet and potatoes were good, the waffle was really small, dry, and had clearly been pulled off the breakfast buffet. Coffee was terrible- Peets is rarely good but it was very watery. Aromas is one of those restaurants that doesn't seem to know what it really wants to be. Steakhouse? Middle eastern? Italian? Mexican? Cajun?! Nothing wrong with variety, but trying to be all things to all people can have its drawbacks. The ambiance didn't feel cohesive either. We were sat in a room to the left of the entrance which had multi-colored lights, as if it were also used as a dance floor for parties. Some lights were placed above the overhead fan, which created an unpleasant flicker on our table. The manager seemed to notice this and adjusted the lights a bit. To try the food, I ordered a burger. It was alright, but not fantastic. Fries were greasy but good. The service was friendly. Nothing overly memorable about the experience. However, I am surprised to see so many positive reviews.
