I loved everything about Aromi when I first visited and I still do. I wish I lived closer as I'd visit more often. This charming, rustic authentic Italian restaurant never disappoints. Staff is extremely friendly and Restaurant Week was a perfect time to revisit. For $45 you can commit to the RW menu or order off the menu however all parties must do the same. The ambience was adorable and the space filled up as time went by. . We shared Fried Calamari and the Arugula Salad for starters. This was the ying yang of appetizers as it was extremely delicious and complemented one another. The Calamari was perfectly crisp with side dipping sauces--Marinara and Squid Ink. Unlike anything I've tasted. So very delicious. The salad was refreshing and simple--Arugula, Pear, Gorgonzola and Walnuts . Very good. Great sharing portion as was the Calamari. We both selected the Branzino for main. Carefully wrapped in a foil paper with clams, mussels, olives and grape tomatoes in a light broth, it was so delicious and well executed. The fish was deboned, fresh and firm. Very good. We shared 2 desserts for final course: Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. No need to describe this but it was traditional and excellent. A delicious Rose complimented the meal and Limoncello shots were brought to our table on the house as we wrapped things up. Overall, we enjoyed this delicate, delicious and decadent meal at Aromi. Shout out to Sarah who offered her most gracious hospitality and Andrea. We had a brief chit chat with him about all things Italian toward the end of our meal. Seriously consider Aromi for RW or any other week. You'll experience warm hospitality, amazing food and attentive service/ambience. Yes....I'm in love with you, Aromi.

Love love love. Didn't even plan on coming here but I'm so glad we did. This pasta was so delicious. The sauce that comes with the meatballs - oh my gosh. Wow. My dad was a bit confused about some of the menu but the server was very helpful and patient. The decor is beautiful especially at night.

Top notch food and drinks! Did a restaurant week dinner here and we were the first to arrive upon opening. The ambiance of this place is giving cozy winter getaway. They have the wood burning oven and well stocked bar in the background. I had the Rosemary fizz and it was herbacious and fizzy from the Prosecco. The focaccia bread was made fresh and served warm and fluffy but topping it with the ricotta took it up another notch. The chicken was cooked and fried to perfection and all the ingredients in the food all tasted fresh and flavorful. The pannacotta was soft and pillowy with fresh berries and compost on top. It wasn't to sweet either. The Caio e Pepe ravioli was really good as well.

Amazing, authentic Italian food. A local restaurant in Carrol Gardens, with so much Italian charm. The owners were amazing and helped us decide what to try. We started with the Bruschette Burratoa. A toasted bread with the creamiest, fresh burrata, topped with truffle and prosciutto . We also had the Margherita pizza. The crust was the thinnest I have ever had. All of the ingredients are so fresh ! The basil was so fresh it tasted as if it was picked from a garden ..in the middle of winter. Watching the pizzas being made was a treat ! I highly recommend and will likely return.

We went for dinner with my partner's sister. The space was so welcomingly cozy on a rainy March evening. The servers were all friendly and so gregarious. The pizzas were delicious - not too heavy, great topping options, and perfectly cooked. Save room for tiramisu!

I second that emotion: Who cares about that impossible reservation system at Una Pizza Napoletana, or the big bucks necessary to eat at L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele: I just discovered phenomenal Neopolitan style pizza at Aromi in Carroll Gardens! From the moment I stepped into this authentic Italian cafe/bar/garden restaurant Sat afternoon up to the offer of a Limoncello at the finish, the warm hospitality and a delicious leisurely lunch at the bar created a 5 star experience.

This is a quaint Italian restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. They have a good selection of homemade pasta, pizza, focaccia and cocktails. We enjoyed catching up with friends over good Italian food.

Look out Lucali, look out Giuseppina's, look out Tutt' Appost, this is a great pizzeria made from native Italians and despite the high prices, they have a great, great product that will make you want to come back for more, even if it means having to wait until 5 pm to do so (if you come during the weekends, they open at noon). I tried three things, their grilled octopus, their meatball appetizer, and their Salamina Piccante pizza, which basically is their hot salami pizza. I also got some of their complementary bread, which basically is their ripped pizza crust, served with olive oil. The latter item is absolutely fantastic; incredibly light, I could eat this all day because it is so light. The olive oil is great too, and they have two types, a spicier and a regular, either one works. The grilled octopus is grilled perfectly. It could do without the red onion, but it is great otherwise. I have been to restaurants where it is overcooked, rubbery, and dry. This one does it right. A minute or two more on the grill and it would be all those things. The meatball appetizer is great too. Served with two pieces of bread, the meatballs are a great size, and you get three of them. This works well as an appetizer. It also sits in a pool of meat sauce, which I think you should keep after you finish eating the meatballs, as it makes for a fantastic dipping sauce for the bread. Lastly, the pizza is great. Everything is cooked beautifully, and their engineered crust works beautifully. The salami is ample on the pie, and the cheese and sauce marry well with it. You also get a nice sized pie, no shortchanging as I have seen too many Italian restaurants do. I would also like to point out how nice the owners are. Allessandro, one of the owners, was super nice and friendly. He was engaging and introduced himself when I first walked into the restaurant. I was also appreciative with how knowledgable he was with his product. I would recommend coming here and will likely return.

The pizza wasn't bad - but it wasn't great either. The gelato was perfect for a hot summer day -- the watermelon seasonal option was ideal for a hot summer day. Is the hype and price worth it? Situated at the corner of East 15th Street and Avenue J, the establishment was owned and managed by Domenico DeMarco (1936-2022), but now his family continues that legacy. Food critics and bloggers frequently rank it among the top pizzerias in New York City. Di Fara has received numerous accolades, including being named the "Best pizza in New York" by publications such as New York and Serious Eats. The New York Times described the restaurant as "one of the most acclaimed and sought-after pizza shops in New York City." In 2011, Zagat ranked it as the top pizza restaurant in the city, and in 2013, Frommer's called its pizza "the Best Hand-Made Pizza in New York City." Chef Anthony Bourdain also expressed admiration for the restaurant's pizza. I had long hoped to visit Di Fara, so I decided to make a trip from Connecticut. Upon entering, my son and I observed that it was quite busy. There is also a window for ordering, but we chose to go inside to order our food to experience the atmosphere fully. We each ordered a freshly prepared Sicilian slice. Unlike some places, there was no pre-made pizza on display. Each slice is made to order, and it takes about twenty-five minutes to prepare. When we received our pizza, it was notably greasy. The Sicilian slices resembled a full meal, topped with garlic and pepperoni. The garlic was quite prominent and flavorful, adding a nice punch which I liked. The pepperoni was crispy, and the undercarriage had a nice crunch, though it was also quite oily. In my personal opinion, it wasn't the best slice I've ever tasted. However, I understand that when the owner, Dom, was alive, the pizza was considered exceptional by many. I would rate it around 3.5 stars, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to experience pizza from one of New York's most iconic establishments.

I tried looking up this pizza from Target Richfield for a review, but it sent me to the NYC location, so forgive me if this review is in the wrong thread. Anyway, wow. I've been to New York City and ate at the original Joe's Pizza. What an epic slice of pizza. Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
