I used to love this place! 2 yrs ago management was great and all smiles but now servers look like they HATE each other and management is RUDE AF! The food is still good and wings are still amazing but the atmosphere is not there anymore. The wait time for food has gotten ridiculously longer, when you order a drink it tastes water down. I've been to Arooga's about five times in the last two months, and I personally have only had positive experiences. I have celiac disease (my bf doesn't and always likes his food FYI) so to find somewhere that has a gluten free menu- let alone a large one at that is impressive. On top of that, the gluten free choices are actually really great and I've never gotten sick. Again, a rarity. I've had Billy as a server a few times as well who is awesome. There's never a delay in receiving my food and it has always come to the table exactly the way I ordered it. Having celiac disease i always have the most complicated order, so it's surprising to me there are so many negative reviews here! I'd go and make your own opinion instead. very disappointed about their lack of alcohol price transparency because no prices are listed for any of their alcohol drinks including beer. i decided to tried aroogas in east brunswick for the first time yesterday. it's convenient on busy route 18 south. the feel is chain like and not anything special although there are a lot of tvs for sports. the place sort of feels like a smaller buffalo wild wings inside. the food is pub style food on the higher range of the price scale. the food is promoted as organic so i guess they are trying to claim a higher price as a result. what i ordered was fine in taste although higher in price than other local bar options. my biggest frustration with aroogas is the fact they don't publish prices for alcohol!!! the fancy mixed drink menu has detailed descriptions and nice pictures but no prices. the draft beer list of about 50 beers has a description but no prices. i asked for prices and was told there is no price list available. bartenders can get you an individual beer price by punching it into the cash register. prices for drafts are on the high side compared to other local bars so that's why they don't show you the prices. this is not good business practice! the only reason that a bar would not be transparent with alcohol prices is because the prices are high and they want their customers to be tricked into ordering the drink without knowing the price so that the bill can be padded. then the customer gets surprised when the bill comes later. they publish prices for all their food but not their drinks. ask yourself why. if you buy something on amazon, the price is immediately visible and it allows you to price compare against other options. you don't wait until your credit card bill arrives to figure out what you paid for it. how can you compare one beer against the other without knowing prices? until they change their policy, i will not be a regular customer although i would like to be due to the good location. buyer be aware! read more

The facility is nice and new. I stopped in with a friend and sat at the bar, I wound up bumping into another friend who was working there, and while he was explaining the menu to my friend and i, and we were catching up, we were rudely interrupted by (who i later found out was) the GM, and cut our conversation short, to yell at her employee (in front of us!) The whole experience made us feel so uncomfortable that we didn't order and just left. I refuse to go back until i get word that LIZ BRYANT is no longer running the place. read more

The place is very nice inside, and the outdoor seating section looks inviting - only downside is the view of Hy 18. There are definitely more TVs than any other sports bar I've been to. The staff is friendly but I think still learning the ropes. I've had to wait for a table on more than one occasion despite the place being half empty. Also, they never seem to clear things from the table without me having to ask. The beer selection is huge as is the food menu - almost too many choices. Now for the food... the wing sauces are great - try the Louisiana garlic hot. The dry rub garlic Romano was disappointing though. The bone in wings themselves were decent but certainly not award winning by any means. Average in size bone-in and not breaded... Where they excelled was the buffalo chicken cheesesteak with onion rings - that was on the money! The regular cheesesteak was nothing impressive, and the kids meals were just your normal chicken fingers and fries you get anywhere else. Overall, it's a good time with decent food and a ton of options. MJ's is my other nearest sports bar that I usually got to, so to compare the two places... MJ's has far better quality food, but Arooga's has a more fun atmosphere. Either way we at least have some more options open. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SH*T HOLE! Waiting over an hour to sit. When we finally sat down, we had waited another 15 minutes for our waitress to come to the table to take our drink order. I went to order a beer and she responded "oh, you like that beer? " in a very judge mental way about what I ordered..... not in a joking way but in a very rude way. After taking down our drink order, she seemed as if she was rushing us and proceeded to ask us what we wanted to eat. We were still deciding on our entrees and once again, in a rude, insensitive tone "you don't know what you want to eat?" This was our third time giving the place a chance and it was the finally time. The first time the service was horrible and the second time we order wings and the chicken came out RAW. Now this. Not going here ever again. I highly recommend NOT going here or even trying it. Staff very nice. Food is really good, and they also do celebrate birthdays there. This place is good for going in big groups or just a single person. I went to Aroogas today for the 1st time with my friend. He's been wanting to go for a while. Left a lot to be desired. I had a burger and fries, I barely ate half the burger - had a weird after taste. Fries were good. Tater tots were EH. The burger and fries were 11.99 - definitely not worth the price. I'd rather drive to Bridgewater to Shake Shack and get a great burger for 5.99 My friend had a brisket sandwich and he said it was ok. The service wasn't great - waitress really didn't know what to recommend or what was a best seller - since we had never been there before this was her chance to sell us on the food. The food spoke for itself - you can get better and cheaper elsewhere. Now - the atmosphere and cleanliness inside was great. Like the layout - big open space - big bar - bathroom was clean. Will go back to sit at the bar, drink and watch a baseball game, but will NOT eat there again. No need...not that good. It's a shame - a nice place, but plenty of better food spots in the area. My family and I arrived so excited to try this new place! We were not greeted in a friendly manner by the hostess or the other 6 girls standing around talking amongst themselves. Completely ignoring anyone coming thur the front door. We were seated in a booth, our waitress was just there to take our order. No hello, have you been here before....just what will you have? My husband and I ordered 2 bloody Mary's which I couldn't drink it was terrible....not a good sign for what's to come. We ordered the sampler and mini pretzels. Pretty good, not to brag about. Despite all of the bad reviews i had a pleasant experience. My server, Kim was very nice and attentive and was always asking if she could get us anything else. I don't feel that we waited long at all for the food. The food itself was subpar. This place is new and while the customer service aspect is great, the kitchen could use some work. Some of the food was cold and some was a little over cooked. Since this place recently opened i do think there is hope. Decided to try this new restaurant that just opened and was very impressed! Service was excellent! Usually when a restaurant opens they have to work out the kinks but there were none! Our waitress was great and the managers were extremely helpful and concerned for my allergies ! She actually brought out the labels to show me the ingredients in the foods I was interested in having there ! They have a huge beer selection, huge menu with lots of things to choose from and the food is very good. They have many TVs which is great for sports events!
