Visited the place with a party of 7. Place was not full so we thought service would be faster than other places near by. We ordered burgers, wings and shakes, nothing fancy. Food came out almost an hour later than we ordered. The kids order 10 minutes after all the adults were served. Our burgers were dry and not even warm. Our "chocolate shakes" were vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup around the mason jar.Boneless wings over cooked and drowned In Sauce. Our waitress came to our table 3 times: take the order, to give us straws and to give us the check. By far the worst place for service. I am extremely disappointed when I didn't get a soup that I ordered. Then my mother didn't get her to go box. There was no communication on why our meal took 35 minutes to prepare. Mind you we got a salad and a wrap. And our server forgot about us at the end again. Alright. I understand I was a BIT harsh with my last review... I can assure you this one won't be as harsh. My rating for the "dining" area still deserves the 2 star no doubt in my mind still... However... the "bar area" in the front... Much better service there let me tell you. I'd give them 4 stars... So overall I took the average and came up with 3. I believe that is fair. My buddy is home from the military and he just wanted to watch the game. So I warned him.. I truly hope this place does better than "canz a city" which closed down a while back on rte 112. I have to say almost the same concept. The food menu here is massive. Maybe too big?? I wasn't sure on what to order so I settled with the boneless wings. They do have a few award winning flavors which is pretty cool. YOU HAVE TO SIGN A WAVER for the ghost pepper wings. I can also try just one which was pretty cool and it was very very spicy. Holy crap! The beer selection is also very plentiful. I was in the mood for IPAs and they didn't fail there. This time I went they had the smallest ribs I ever saw. They called them Danish ribs. In the menu they were bigger then the French fry . But when I got them the French fry was longer then the rib. I have food allergies, but the burger options seemed to offer a way for me to build a safe meal. I was very specific about what I was ordering, and what I was allergic to so that there would be no confusion. I was given a burger with many things on top of it that I could not have, but figured I could pick most of them off. However there was a weird peppery sauce on the burger that was listed nowhere on the menu, and I had specifically told the waitress that I was allergic to paprika, peppers, etcetera. It was hidden on the lettuce, so even though I remove the other things that I could not eat, my throat started burning after taking a few bites. So, this place totally messed up on my meal and experience on 2 separate occasions. After the second time, the manager was extremely apologetic and said the next time I come he or Danny promises to personally remake my meal. So last night I figured third times a charm and went. Well to my surprise my food was done on time AND Danny personally brought it to me. When I got home, the food was PERFECT. I ordered some wings and fries. This place is fun to hang out in but the food isn't all to great. But this place really shines with its liquor menu. We rolled and and ordered a bunch of appetizers. We got the big aroogas buffalo pretzel and the sampler. They were okay. The home BBQ sauce is way to sweet and completely covers everything in the sampler. Maybe ask for the sauce on the side next time. The fries were soggy and the sliders were completely dry. I don't recommend the sampler at all. If you need to pick one appetizer go with the buffalo pretzel. It's super soft and spicey and good. They have a great selection of local brews and they make it hard to pick between a brew and their large cocktail menu. The service was also okay. I go to Aroogas all the time with friends and family. I have nothing against Aroogas itself. I love the food and the staff. But the security staff is the absolute worst. They start problems with people for absolutely no reason. On MULTIPLE occurrences, my friends, my family and I have been personally harassed and even thrown out of Aroogas for no apparent reason. I would have understood if we were being reckless or disrespectful, but that is never the case. The bouncers act like they are higher than everyone else. **UPDATE** On Wednesday night my friend and I were seated in the bar area. We watched a group of young people bring a DOG into the restaurant. This was clearly not a service dog, it was a group of people with a small sized dog which they were holding at the bar while they socialized and drank. I am severely allergic to dogs and the fact that there was one in the establishment is disturbing. Not only that, but I saw that my waitress was petting this dog and then within minutes brought my food to the table. I can hope she washed her hands, but there is no way to be sure. I visited Arooga's with a few close friends for the Ronda Rowsey UFC fight, and had a fun time! We arrived a half-hour before the event at 10pm, and the place was absolutely packed. I spoke to some regulars, who mentioned that the place is always crammed for these events even hours before. Luckily there are a multitude of TVs available for convenient viewing wherever you are, so our view wasn't obstructed. We ordered some fries, and were impressed by the large cut and seasonings. The taste was great, and fairly priced considering the volume. Though the infamous fight was short, the atmosphere in the bar was electric, and everyone was fixated on the screens. My only criticism is that the bartenders were consistently unresponsive to customers, even when trying to place food orders. Overall, this is a fun spot to watch sporting events, independent of how obsessed you are with sports. read more

It was 14 degrees out and my friends and I asked the bouncer of Arooga's to step in to call an Uber and he said to my friend "am I not speaking English we are not open" meanwhile their were over 80 people in the bar. This bouncer continued to shove my friend out of the doorway & started swinging on him. The bouncer punched him so hard that he started to bleed. He then began to slut shame the girls around the bar and altercation. All we wanted was a place to be safe and call an Uber. It was unnecessary and traumatizing for everyone involved. First time I went here recently, 8 of us, for live band karaoke (which is why I added the extra star.) My review would have only been 1 star if not for karaoke. Every restaurant has drinks, beer and food, but I believe it's the service which makes a place better than another place. All of us ordered a variety food and drinks throughout the night. The "Sunday drink specials" do not start until 9pm, which is not indicated on the website. I ordered an "all day special" and later got overcharged. The waiter got into an argument with me when I asked about it. Later our items were moved to another table when we got up for karaoke because they wanted to rearrange the tables. Not sure why the rush to move things because the place was not crowded at all. Most tables were empty. The food was ok, nothing to brag about, but I go out a lot and the service here was below mediocre. I was pretty excited about this place opening and couldn't wait to check it out. Upon entering Arooga's I first notice their huge bar area with tons of seating. Also lot's of high top tables all around the bar area. There is a dining room with booths & tables that is separated from the bar area which is probably good for families with small children and older people who just want to come for a bite without dealing with the loud rowdy sports fans, especially Sunday Football. We were seated at one of the high top tables in the bar area. Our waitress was very sweet and gave us time to look over the tap beer menu. We ordered our beers and decided to start with an order of their 10 piece boneless buffalo wings. It took FOREVER for the bartender to pour our two beers. Our waitress was standing at the end of the bar patiently but the bartender was more concerned about texting than he was doing his job. Once we finally got our beers our wing order came out shortly after. They were very good but my only complaint is that they could have been crispier. After devouring the wings we decided to split the build your own philly steak sandwich. It was good not great. The steak was a bit dry, so I was glad we got cheez whiz on the sandwich to add a little creaminess. The hoagie roll it came on was very good. The cole slaw it came with was fresh and delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and their wasn't a long wait time for the food at all. The bartenders need to step up their game though. I've yet to come in for the brunch so I made sure to drop in during the patchogue brunch crawl and this place did not disappoint. Great bar for game day with your friends. They have an awesome bar and drink menu. I love their drinks. They have tv's literally every where. They play the most popular game on the big tv's but also play other sporting events on the little tv's around the restaurant. They even have a big screen and speakers in the bathroom so you never miss a beat. There waitstaff are very friendly and fast. They are located in the village of patchogue so finding parking may be a bit challenging depending on what day and time you come. We went on a Sunday and had no problem finding parking. Been here three times so far. The first time was to get drinks while we waited for friends to arrive. Good beer selection and the signature house drinks were decent. Nothing to complain about. The second and third time we had dinner with friends. Let me just say the food was great. Love the sauces my favorite was the mango habanero. My favorite wings were the baked and boneless. . They weren't dried out had a good moister and didn't sit in your stomach like some hot wings do. I also recommend getting one of the Pretzels. Cooked perfectly and did not have that frozen food taste. Everything tastes like it was made to order. The only reason they did not receive 5 stars is because they still haven't worked most of the bugs out the the kitchen. Felt it was weird they did a soft opening (apparently during Alive After Five) and didn't bother to let us know. I mean, we were giving some free publicity and being able to speak of the food and beer first hand would have been great but... whatever. The place is BIG. Separate walk-through to get to the dining area which makes sense. That way, folks aren't crashing through the bar which is front-and-center. LOTS of big TVs. We were here for UFC 202. The bar staff was kind enough to switch TVs to FS1 for the prelims and at 10, all sets were tuned to the main event. Very festive vibe. Lots of young folks. Big beer selection. A lot of macros and pseudo-craft (Blue Moon, etc.) but also a good focus on locals: Montauk, Fire Island, Barrier, to name a few. The wings were good but a tad anemic. Slightly over-cooked (and I like my wings crunchy). Ordered the Buffalo Bay sauce which was nicely spicy but not really hot at all. Bartenders seem to be recruited from Ford Modelling Agency. Very attentive until when shit really hit the fan and things got SUPER busy. Then most attention was focused on newcomers and larger parties instead of the middle-aged booze hound. But no matter. Beers came at an otherwise acceptable rate. Drink menu is HUGE. Food menu is HUGE. I will be going back to try a burger and other wings (the hallmark against which I judge all bar foods). People are going to bitch and moan about them being a chain but, let's face it, it's another option on Main Street and, if anything, it should help to competitively raise the bar. Came here on a Friday night around 8pm and the place was already swamped with drunk obnoxious people. We overlooked all that anyway and we're seated in the back dining area. Waiter came by and seemed nice enough. Boyfriend and I ordered beer on tap off their menu. Waiter comes back and says the beer we ordered was out. We looked at the menu again and ordered another one. Waiter leaves, comes back and says they're out of that one too. We ask for a minute to look at the menu again but decided after he left that we were just too annoyed at that point to stay and eat. I never write reviews but wanted to take the time to do so for a place I feel deserves it. I love this place, it's different, fun, unique and a fantastic environment. The first time I ever went was with my girlfriends on a Friday night, the waitress was informative friendly and provided excellent service and it was very busy. 2nd time was a few days later needed to bring boyfriend there because of how fun and unique the menu is.
