I made a reservation at this restaurant because I was coming into town and wanted to take my mom to a nice place we could enjoy together. When my mom became sick and could no longer make it, I contacted the restaurant a full week in advance to cancel. The owner, Eric Shameti, told me it was OpenTable's policy that I could not get out of the $50-per-person fee. After I explained the situation, he said he would "see if he could lower the head count" to possibly reduce the charge. I contacted OpenTable's restaurant division to verify this. They confirmed exactly what I had already read online: OpenTable does not set these fees--each restaurant sets its own cancellation and deposit policy. I then looped Eric into the call so both parties could hear the same information. The moment I began confirming the facts with the OpenTable representative, Eric launched into a stream of profanity, calling me a "piece of shit," telling me to "F-- off," and directing the same language at OpenTable. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (like many people in this community), I found his language deeply offensive and told him I would not be bullied. He continued the verbal assault, then changed his story and admitted it was actually *his* policy, not OpenTable's. Once he was caught in the lie, he began screaming at both me and the OpenTable representative. I have never been treated so poorly by a restaurant owner. This is someone who showed zero regard for his customers or the community and was willing to lie in order to extract $50 per person. There is no response Eric can give that would make up for the lies, the verbal abuse, or the attempt to pressure me into paying a fee under false pretenses. I strongly encourage anyone reading this to think carefully before supporting this restaurant. OpenTable is currently in the process of reviewing his account for deplatforming. I will be sharing this experience across social media and have already spoken with local media. I have also retained legal counsel should he attempt to charge my card. Behavior like this should not be tolerated. If an owner is willing to lie so easily about a cancellation policy, it raises serious questions about what else he might be willing to misrepresent. read more

I reserved For A injured wheelchair vet's 12th anniversary on A fri. We wanted the 5 course meal. A site (open table. I think)took my reservation with many seating times then open. Within A few minutes, my reservations were cancelled via email: then they call me to remind me my wedding anniversary dinner was cancelled & was offered the follow day to dine there. So we had A great steak at an italian place worthy of 5 stars. So glad we found great steak for maybe half the cost. I will not reserve here again. I did enjoy it under A previous owner. Who/WHY Cancels someone's anniversary meal & offer them A plan B date? They have extra space for my 15x15" chair; which they perhaps do not realize? The second visit was even better than the first! After my first visit, I knew I wanted to take my sister to Arrabiata. This time we decided to try the five-course prix fixe and wow... every dish hit. The service was smooth, the pacing was perfect, and the attention to detail showed from start to finish. The ambiance was no rush, and just the right energy for a slow, indulgent meal. We had the Burrata Caprese: Small bite, big flavor. We had the Caesar Salad and Insalata Mista, which were Fresh, creamy, and beautifully balanced. The dish of the day, ravioli, was perfectly rich without being too heavy. The star of the show was the Tomahawk steak, which was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. Called in said they could take us for early dinner, arrive w my 5 yr old, hostess goes to seat us, the owner comes out and says "no kids, no exceptions, it's posted everywhere" which was not discussed prior. In this brief conversation the owner became quite agitated, gave defensive/ego sentiment, which was fine and we left, plenty of good food around otherwise, however, reading multiple reviews, it seems like there have been very similar negative interactions with this guy in the past, which was par for the course for me unfortunately. read more

By far the best steaks, chef, service, and food in southern Utah, possibly in Utah! Eric, the chef/owner is a gem. The guy knows how to prepare perfect meats and food. Steaks are done to perfection with that crust that you never find anywhere else, especially in any typical "steakhouse". Be sure to get a reservation. It's in a nondescript strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The service and ambience and everything about Arrabiata is first class. Can't wait to go back. Definitely worth a slight diversion off the beaten path to Ivins for some of the most perfectly prepared food you'll ever find. The lobster raviolis are heavenly. Outstanding food and wine. We really enjoyed this place. It says reservations suggested but it seems they are actually required. We lucked out because there were cancellations but be warned it's best to make one. We started with the house made burrata appetizer. Just fantastic. Try this if it's available. I've never had better burrata. Extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and tart cherry tomatoes. Next, we ordered a bottle of Pinot noir as a compromise due to one diner wanting the branzino and the other the New York steak filet. Both entrees featured a side of house made ravioli, with an incredibly rich sauce. Fillings included lobster, mushroom and four types of cheese. In a word, fantastic. Service was great. Very friendly and personable with the chef coming out to tables to make recommendations and check how we were enjoying everything. Our server was very nice as well. We finished with a piece of cheesecake with fresh raspberries and blueberries and kind of wished that we had ordered a moscato or a shot of grappa, but we were down for the count. Quite a meal and in a charming room. Ambiance. Look, it's a tad old fashioned and dark and there is some of old timey Frank Sintatra stuff and yes, it's quite expensive. An Al Martino album would fit in perfectly here. And let's be honest, Frank Sinatra is no Al Martino. However, I would say that it's worth it and you should try this place for a special occasion. My New York strip, recommended by the chef, was possibly the best steak I've had at a restaurant - certainly one of the best, certainly with the best char I've ever had. Having heard only good things about Arrabiata from some family and it being one of the few dining options in Ivins, we had to give it a try! We were not disappointed! The chef is very personable and talks to everyone and let me tell you he's a wizard in the kitchen. I'm not big on caprese salads and haven't really liked burrata that much but the caprese and burrata appetizer was amazing! I had more than just the obligatory bite much to my wife's dismay (she loves both caprese salads and burrata). It was delicious and definitely got things rolling for dinner. For the meal I ordered the aged del monico ribeye. It was the best steak I've ever had. It had a perfect crisp on the outside, and I mean absolutely perfect, and was a true medium rare on the inside. The meat was tender, delicious and seasoned just right. I'm still thinking about the salt crystals and the dynamic between the crispy outside and tender and juicy inside. The side of lobster ravioli could have stood all on its own and I would probably go back just for that! The sauce with the ravioli was to die for, very smooth and full of flavor. The dish altogether was a masterpiece. My wife had the chicken Alfredo and it was quite perfect. I had a small bite, needed to save room for my steak and ravioli! I can say that the Alfredo sauce and the chicken were both tasty and were everything that could be desired in a chicken Alfredo. The dessert was a perfect end to the meal. It was a a delight, a delicious hazelnut gelato with a chocolate ripple and little crispy pieces throughout. If you have been considering going, DO IT! Between the experience of actually getting to talk to Chef Eric and interact with him and have him take your order and cook your food to perfection and the food being actual perfection it's a MUST! The whole evening was the perfect date, we loved getting to know Chef Eric, listening to his stories and experiences and dining on his delicious food! After eating at this place, I find that the food was just fine. The chef and owner on the other hand is quite unique. He is aggressive and belligerent. If you do not say his food is the best thing you've ever had, he is difficult and hard to deal with. Because he didn't like my opinion he has called my cell phone three times after the meal to ridicule me and call me the worst names. I have never once called this man or his restaurant. I booked the reservation on open table. OpenTable reached out to me and asked me for a review which you can find there. All I said was his food was fine. Then he has quickly after our dinner gone to crazy status. This is a dangerous person and I recommend you stay away. We've traveled all over the world and my husband was born in Italy and this restaurant was without a doubt - the BEST Italian food we have EVER had. The strip mall location, next to an insurance agency, hides this gem! There are only few tables and since it's only open a few nights a week, a reservation is a must. The burrata appetizer was amazing. Our entrees were over the top great......the Fruta di Mare and the Fileto Al Fungi, with mushroom Barolo Demi-glaze. And a fabulous wine list too! Great food draws me to a restaurant. Bad energy drives me away. The owner of this restaurant unfortunately had very bad energy. I felt a lot of anger and aggression off of him during my interaction with him in his restaurant. The sad thing is, that while he may have a lot of talent in the kitchen, he lacks the maturity, humility, and professionalism that is necessary to be a great restaurant owner. His behavior alone drove me away, and should be corrected if he expects to do well in the world. He does not take criticism well, and his attitude is shown by his responses to other reviews he has received. (Not to mention his occasionally bigoted comments.) He throws a tantrum when he isn't given 5 stars, and then he results to immature insults and accusations. He needs to realize that this is the reality of running a restaurant. Not everyone will give him 5 stars. Not everyone will think he is perfect, and he needs to be okay with that. The restaurant business is full of people who will have opinions, and he is going to hear a whole lot of them, and if he can't take the heat, then he needs to get out of the kitchen (so to speak). I really hope he gets some mental/emotional help. Living this way is not healthy, and is not good for business. read more

The dry-aged New York Delmonico was spot on -- perfectly seasoned, cooked medium rare, moist and tender. My wife's filet was likewise. The lobster raviolis with the baby squash and your special house sauce was the perfect accompaniment too. Folks, You're treated like family when you eat here. But, please don't forget to make a reservation. Eric only has nine table. He does seating every half-hour so everyone get his personal chef's table attention. Regrettably, I watched him have to turn away a walk-in party of four, rather than attempt to accommodate them by squeezing them in like some other establishments might do. I don't have a lot of experience with expensive restaurant experience, but I do have some. The cuts of meat were unparalleled. The steaks were well aged, beautifully marbled, cooked and seared as a good cut of steak should be. If this wasn't the best sirloin I've had it was in the top 3 (see Sam and Harry's in D.C.). Service was great. It's a small place very inviting. Music very quiet unlike chain restaurants so I could hear myself think and actually hear what my wife was saying. The owner/chef took personal interest in how we enjoyed our meal, treated us like we were the only people there. Wonderful staff, environment, and food amazing. Did I mention homemade ravioli? Other Italian aficionados would have to decide how this compares, but I thought it the best Italian I've ever had. What an amazing experience we had at Arrabiata tonight! The detail and passion Eric, the chef has for food is one of a kind! He takes pride in what he does and it shows by his interactions with his guests and most of all with his food! We had the 5 course meal which consisted of an appetizer which was his burrata caprese special which had an explosion of flavor, so good! Next was your choice of salad. We had the Insalata Miata which was mixed greens with a raspberry champagne vinaigrette, craisins and Gorgonzola on top, more explosions of flavor. Next was ravioli with Mexican tiger shrimp. This was the best ravioli and sauce I have ever had before and once again an explosion of flavors. Finally to the main event, steak! I got the filet and my husband got the ribeye. They were cooked to perfection and the crust was next level! Finally was dessert. By this point we were stuffed but had just enough to finish that. Unfortunately they didn't have any crème brûlée but we got the chocolate mousse cake and tartufo spumoni gelato. Great ending to an even better meal! He was very accommodating, engaging and you can tell he is a master of his craft. The Burrata Caprese was of the highest quality along with the accoutrements.
