Love this place! We've eaten here a few times and never once been disappointed in the food. If you visit, ask about the lasagna! Pizzas are delicious. Must try. Their pastas are all delicious and perfectly cooked. Perfectly al dente, in my opinion, like my Italian friends' dinner tables in my childhood. Celery salad was great! I'd seen it and finally tried it. The meatballs: always fabulous. And the Penne Primavera was outstanding! I am getting close to have tried everything on the menu and I can confirm that everything I've eaten here these past couple years has been terrific. You can't go wrong here. read more

We stopped by about a month ago, as we saw the new location recently opened and we were looking forward to a local Italian option. Sadly, Bella Maria will not be an option, as we never got food. We ordered a pizza and a salad to share shortly after being seated. After close to half an hour later, with no food being served to us, not even a few slices of bread, we got up to leave and asked that our pizza be boxed up for us to take with us. Rather than being understanding, the staff started arguing with us about how the people around us had reservations and that was why they were served before us even though they were seated after us. I understand that they advertise that everything is cooked to order, but it seems unreasonable to not bring any food to a table up to 30 minutes after ordering, even a salad or bread. And it doesn't seem like good business to argue with an unhappy customer instead of apologizing. There are other Italian options a few minutes further away in St. George, and we will stick to those. read more

Been in the restaurant 4 years ago and as we had good memory of it we decided to try it again. The service was very slow although only 5 tables were occupied. food ( penne) portions were very small like kids portion. The pasta wasn't cook properly ( hard and sticky) and the marinara was tasteless. Even the dessert ( Tiramisu) was served half frozen. What a disappointment! read more

Their Dixie Dr location was undoubtedly their best offering. The lunch specials were the best. Their second location on 700 W(?) and their new one on Bluff St have gotten progressively worse. They've totally done away with their daily pizza lunch specials and replaced them with a few pasta dishes that look very uninteresting. Their pizza is what I liked the best and they just stopped promoting it as a lunch special. Bad move. Plus, the owner at times be surly and rude and I have a feeling that the new location will have its challenges. Time will tell. read more

I ordered a 12' pizza around 1230 and joined my group a few minutes after they ordered. The server was able to coordonate so we all received our meal at the same time. Appreciated. My problem was the pizza. The bottom of the crust was totally black and left the pizza with a burnt flavor, it was terrible. They may call it brick oven but to have a crust so overcooked that it is peeling off is not good. After 1 piece, I was done. $20 for one slice is a bit pricey. Also they charged an 18% tip to each order without anyone in a group of 6 knowing then the receipt had a tip line. Had I not have noticed they would have gotten a double tip. I will say that one person from the east coast whose pizza was not quite as "burnt" thought hers was ok. Just be advised the crust is not standard to the area. read more

I found the NY style pizza I've been searching for here, but I must admit I didn't try just cheese yet. Next time :) the ravioli with pink sauce was delicious. We went on a weeknight at six and no one was there. They didn't have kids meals, but the kids did great. They have a decent size beer & wine list. Then non-alcoholic consists of water, soda, juice, coffee & Italian sodas. We chose the Meatster, Veggie & Bella Marie Harvest pizza, they were delicious. Only items that need work because they were dry was the table bread and garlic bread served with the ravioli. Pizza crust had no issues. read more

It was delivered within the time frame I requested. I ordered through the Website which was easy to navigate and the description of the food made ordering for someone else easy. Staff was friendly and I like they showed me the pizza at pickup. Sauce was tangy, crust a little chewy, not much by way cheese or flavor. Crust would flop a little when you hold it up. Loved it! I saw it as one of the only options without seed oils in St. George on the SOS app, so we have been wanting to try it for sometime. It was wonderful! Bella Marie herself came out and spoke to our group about the care they take to make every dish healthy. They were so great to accommodate several food allergies in our group of 10. The food took a little longer to come out, but it was so worth it! We ordered salads, pizza and pasta dishes and everyone was very happy with their food! Come on how about a crusty Italian bread. Entree chicken marsala was good, chicken picatta interesting never had it with spinach and onions. Price point A little high. We have always had good food and service at Bella Marie's and were glad when they moved to Bluff Street, much nearer to our home. Their pizza is by far the best in southern Utah, with a terrific New York-style thin crust and fresh, homemade sauce and toppings. The dinner entrees are wonderful, with a wide variety of pasta, meats, seafood and veggies. Their selection of wines and beers is better than most of the expensive restaurants in the area. The chef will cheerfully customize your pizza or entree. The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly, the seating is comfortable, and the background music is pleasant. The new location on Bluff Street is convenient and has lots of parking. If they had a few bumps while moving to the new location, it was well worth it! read more

We really enjoyed our lunch here. I had a meatball sandwich and my companion had Chicken Alfredo. We both enjoyed our meals. My companion said that "this makes Olive Garden's taste awful". They make their own pasta fresh, Alfredo sauce from scratch. The meatballs were delicious and it was nice to have them pre-halved and the sandwich was not over sauced so it wasn't messy. We had a lovely fresh salad with homemade bleu cheese dressing. Lovely place! I will be back! read more

I was hesitant to come here after reading the reviews that the service was horrible and the food was overpriced. Our service was excellent and our food was well-flavored. The pizza was worth it. The Alfredo was bomb. The kids portions were great. My husband ordered the penne dish - it was rich and spicy. I ordered the chicken piccata and was really happy with the lemony deliciousness. Alfredo Pizza was amazing. Pepperoni Pizza was the most greasy I've ever seen. Barbecue Pizza was gross. My biggest problem with it was that it had tomato sauce AND barbecue sauce drizzle. Resulted in a very repulsive flavor. Also, there was NO mention of tomato or marinara sauce on the menu listing. It just mentioned barbecue sauce. Hopefully it was just a mistake. If not, definitely should rethink the recipe. I've never had a BBQ Pizza that also had tomato sauce. Of the 3 pizzas we bought, we could only eat 1. We also noticed the incredibly exquisite lighting in both the pizza section and homemade section. On our drive home, The whole family loved reading your Yelp responses to your customers. It's not the service. Everyone was nice. It's not the speed. We sat right down, the food even came out fast. You can even look past the poor lighting and crowded table placement. But the food. It's not good. The marsala tastes like powdered mushroom gravy. The pizza sauce is bland. The ravioli tastes like grocery store frozen in canned tomato sauce. The real crime is charging unsuspecting travelers $25 for an entree that any internet recipe can beat. This place needs a Hell's Kitchen makeover. read more

I was told that I had to pay for Chicken Alfredo even though I only wanted noodles and sauce, but no price was given over the phone and no prices were listed on their website. I never thought to ask as we have been here in the past and they were helpful and accommodating and reasonably priced. Disappointing not to be able to order it any other way as we have quite liked their food. 6 oz of pasta and sauce. $24.99. Outrageous. Solid pizza with a delicious crust is one of the food options Bella Marie's offers. Not in the mood for pizza? Try the pasta options. Both are made in-house from scratch with fresh, natural ingredients. The service here is good too. Not sure if it's just because the restaurant wasn't super busy when we were in or if it's a regular occurrence, but the store owner came out and spoke with every table, thanking each of us for our business. In all honesty, I'd probably try another pizza place in St. George before coming right back to Bella Marie's, but if someone suggested it for a meal, I'd happily say yes.
