I really like the food at this little Taqueria. The service can be very slow though and feels a bit awkward. The restaurant is very clean.

This is not the case of Sivar's.... I've been coming to this small hole in the wall, in a middle of a busy Central American mall, next to Super Mercado in Hillsboro and I am keeping it to my heart. There is this amazing strong woman who is an angel in the kitchen! I have been trying her pupusas since she opened her place.... amazingly delicious and honestly prepared, right there, in front of you. I have been drinking her Atol de Elote and I love it... no milk. Horchata is amazing, no milk, just rice cinnamon water sugar and morro fruit. I'm talking about Salvadoran horchata here, not the milk infused Mexican stuff. Please, don't get me wrong, the Mexican horchata is delicious but the milk, it kills me, especially the condensed milk. What else? Caldo de res, beef soup. Holly smokes! Do you want beef soup that you eat it with a spoon? No need to cut your beef with a knife, because the meat was so tender and deliciously blended. Her work team and her efforts are incredible; this is my secret spot when I want to eat like a human, no industrial food here!

The inside has a good amount of seating and the decor is lively and very casual. Our waitress was kind and welcoming. You get complimentary chips & salsa. I also had the queso fundido to start. It was insanely creamy and decadent. I got the jalapeño and beans & cheese pupusas. For only 5.95 each they were pretty large. The pupusas themselves were cheesy, satisfying, and flavorful and paired great with the tangy, fresh slaw on top. I appreciated how they provide a huge container of slaw and delicious hot sauces.

I always go for the revueltas, it's revuelta or bust in my book, always extra curtido. I can never get enough curtido. The pupusas are big and have a great filling ratio, you will definitely be satisfied with the size! We also always get the pastelitos, a fantastic car snack while we're driving home. Eating here is good, too, the employees are all super nice and it's always a good experience. It's really easy to get too, as well, just off the freeway, and the prices aren't too bad. We've had other things here too, like the nacho, platanos, and probably other stuff, but I forget. Everything is always good, you can't go wrong. Definitely recommended!

The woman who took my order was really nice, but I don't think she should have been taking orders. Even with me being bilingual and her daughter helping translate, she had a hard time understanding what I wanted, even though I was reading it directly from their menu. The wait time was short. Everything was fresh. The pupusa dough, the veggies, the toppings-- I loved everything except the chicken, which tasted like it had been boiled or canned at some point. But that's my fault for ordering chicken from a Latino food cart, knowing they sometimes take these chicken shortcuts. The salsa and queso fresco were both bomb. 5 stars on both of those. The portion size was a decent value for the price. It was too much food for me to eat in just one sitting. If I came back again, I would order literally any meat other than chicken. I might even ask how it's cooked first, just to be sure. Overall I thought it was pretty good, and I would definitely come back again. (I just wouldn't get the chicken.)

Service was very friendly and personable. As I was there, a lot of regulars came in and were greeted warmly. Always a good sign. The complementary chips and salsa were just okay, but I did enjoy the refried beans they included. I went with the Combination Los Dos Hermanos, which features some Salvadoran dishes. It comes with a pupusa filled with shredded pork and cheese and a tamale filled with chicken. The pupusa is kind of like a tortilla packet. I found mine to be very delicious, with yummy pork and rich cheese. The tamale was good too. I loved the tangy cabbage salad that came with the main dishes, and the fried yucca root was super tasty too. The rice was okay, and the beans were good; I think they might have been red silk beans, but I am not sure about that. I was checked in on a few times, and it was a great lunch experience. I will keep this place in mind when I'm next in the area!

The pico de gallo that came with the (very good) chips was like blended canned tomatoes and was so pepper hot I only took one scoop. I mean nuclear, and I thought it would spoil my meal, but a rinse from the glass of water saved the day. The Cadillac margarita was unpalatable and $16, the enchilada special unremarkable, but the lunch entrees are right-sized and economical. You don't get an itemized bill, but the checker does the math as you leave. I prefer Keizer to Salem and have been trying to assemble a suite of venues, but I have no intentions of returning here.
