Once all the power and heat was turned on, Jay went above and beyond going through all the parts of the house. He pointed out everything they needed to repaired and gave rough estimates and referrals throughout the house. The thing that really stood out though was that Jay was straightforward and honest in his assessment. I work on a lot of houses, so all the figures he gave for estimates were pretty much in line with what I would expect. Not too high, like he was selling me on a repair I didn't need. But also not underselling the cost of what needed to get done. To me, there's nothing more valuable then getting accurate information. Don't try and overinflate or udnerflate what costs will be. Just say it like it is and let me decide how to proceed. I will absolutely be using 4 Seasons for future Home Inspection work and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a home assessed.

After purchase of house I contracted rodent expertise to secure home and clean. And subsequent inspections exposed a complete need to replace all insulation in crawlspace, rodent breaches throughout HVAC (and heavily chewed up and TAPED TOGETHER HVAC in crawlspace), DISCONNECTED HVAC in crawlspace and a leaking water pipe in crawlspace. None of those items were mentioned by Paragon and cost over $10k additional $ to address beyond anything they pointed out. Paragon has taken zero accountability for these huge misses and not gone so far as to even offer a refund. What is the point of a home inspector if they can do a terrible job and there are zero repercussions?

They caught plenty of small things to keep an eye on, but notably missed some major issues: - Mold in the basement bathroom (and an overall ventilation issue) - Multiple leaks in plumbing and water damage - Multiple dead electric outlets - Some serious electric code violations with the main panel When they performed the inspection, the house was furnished, but none of the above issues were blocked or covered by furniture. The leaks had obvious water damage that was both visible and detectable with a moisture detector. It was by no means a useless inspection, they did find some things (but generally more obvious things like missing smoke detectors and railings), but the missed mold, electric outlets, and leaks is concerning. The first couple electric outlets was passable, but once I got to 7 broken outlets/switches and then found the mold and leaks, the pass was gone. Anyways, I plan on bringing in another inspector at some point to double check my house, since I don't have peace of mind from theirs.

However I didn't hire him to be my friend, I hired him to inspect my house. Most of the inspection was great, but some things were completely wrong or missing. The report states that the venting above the gas stove was working properly but there is no vent at all there, and that has been an ongoing issue in my house. The report also states that the water dispenser in the fridge was working normally but there is not even a water line connected to the refrigerator. I had read really good reviews about this business, so I had hoped for the same. Unfortunately it was a sub par inspection.
