Arrowhead Deck & Pool Is the best! I reviewed many companies and read Arrowhead reviews. Arrowhead is above and beyond the others. I contacted the Arrowhead and they sent out Scott who took measurements and explained what they would do to transform our deck from 2000 to 2024! Scott gave us a very fair quote and we decided to go along with Arrowhead to do our project. The next person that I was introduced to is Cory, who is the Project Manager. Cory was friendly, always smiling and gave us a fresh, relaxed feeling about our project. We were very apprehensive, but Cory explained everything they would be doing and calmed any apprehensions that we had. Cory was very thorough at how the process goes from how they will cover the pool water and tape all the surfaces off so they can concentrate on the work that they do. The first process was to remove this big boulder that we had on the deck and a bunch of small stones that were embedded in concrete. The crew came out and hand removed all embedded stones and a hand chiseled this huge boulder away. It took them all day, but when they left, we couldn't even tell that they had done all this work because the yard was SO CLEAN and area fresh concrete and it looked really beautiful. Cory stopped by to make sure everything was OK and said that the next crew out would be the "Pool Brothers"! Juan, who is the supervisor of the Pool Brothers, came out and said that his crews are the crews that will grind off the existing surface and then reapply all the various layers to complete the project. Every step of the way, Juan would ask if we wanted to come out and take a look, even though it wasn't necessary, which I thought was very professional Then we got to the point where we had to pick our colors and Juan took his time and didn't rush and showed us pictures of previous jobs they had performed and give us his thoughts of what would look best with our house paint color, and our pool color and landscape. When they were done, Juan had us come out and take a look and we were just blown away at how beautiful our new Deck & Patio was! Juan explained the process that we had to stay off the deck for 4 days and Juan said not to put the furniture back on the surface for another 3 days for a total of 7 days. My wife and I are so happy and ecstatic at how Arrowhead Deck & Pool has taken our old tired deck & patio and transformed it into a new deck & patio. If I had it to do over, I would definately pick a diferent resurfacing company. The quality of materials and the installation team actually did a fine job (thus the 2 versus 1 rating) but there was no communication or project management from the office staff and the owner took no responsibility for the minor leak that the installation team caused during the 3 days of installation and he was very rude and unprofessional. I am glad to see others and very good outcomes despite the owner having issues with other clients. I hope he treats his employees better than he does his clients. read more

I would use someone else. What was supposed to be a 2-3 week project turned out to be 5 months. They really did a lazy job on the pool decking and on the columns. They had to come out 3 different times to fix the cracking. Cracking was due to the sub contractor not knowing how to do the work. Project manager argued with me via text and was only present at time to pick up the check and when the owner had to visit the property due to the lazy job they did. They got two stars because they ended up (on my demand) having a different sub come out and fix all the mistakes. read more

I had them do my pool deck and my driveway. The pool deck was done flawlessly and years later it still looks great. They did a good job with the driveway too, but ended up causing some major blockage to my sewage line. They did fix the issue very quickly. My only real issue with the company is that any time I try and get warranty repairs it takes several months for them to send someone out(it happened twice). read more

What a great company to work with. They provided us with a very in-depth bid containing options we could choose from to revamp our HOA community pool area. They resurfaced our pool deck with the lace cool deck material, then, they replaced our old and chipped waterline tile in the pool and hot tub, along with all the depth numbers, and finished it off with a thorough acid wash of the pool & spa. They also did an emergency fix of a discovered broken pipe in our auto fill, acting right away and at a reasonable price. Their online program for reviewing and signing the bid was incredibly easy, as was their online payment option. Our rep Cory was so professional, clear and concise. Our pool was old and in desperate need of a remodel after cracks got bigger and water stopped leaking, we knew it was time. I got 6 different quotes from pool companies and Dave came out with the top most professionalism. I met with him and discussed all of the issues with the pool and concerns I had with the entire project. I was amazed at the high level of tech he used for measuring and how seamless his process was. I had a quote in my hand before he left my house! I didn't have to wait at all to know what I was getting into, how things would progress and the overall cost. A job well done. We had some issues after Arrowhead Deck did the job. The first crew poorly finished our new drain and tried to match texture which looked terrible. After reviewing the job the owner contacted me immediately. John came out the next day and was not happy with the job and committed to re-doing a portion of the deck. We were busy with company and had to delay the correction. Upon rescheduling we had more delays due to weather. In the mean time the supervisor came to our home and instead of redoing a number of sections Arrowhead Deck did our whole deck over again. I can't believe the difference. The quality is outstanding and looks the way I had hope it would turn out. The drains were cut in smoothly, the new 4" drain was cut in making it look nicely finished. I do commend Arrowhead's Decks crew that redid our deck and their commitment to quality work. Our deck now looks like new ready for our upcoming summer heat. We chose Reflector-Shield sealer to provide the coolest surface. Hats off to the crew that just finished the job they really did a fine job. John came out right away and made us feel that his re-coating method over our existing coolcrete would look great! We hired this company and they came out right away and re-coated over our existing coolcrete in our back yard with a beautiful stone look pattern. We paid around $11,000 for this process. It looked amazing for the first month. Then it started cracking and coming up all over. John was on vacation but had his crew come out and patch the areas that were coming up. The patch job looked horrible but they said that was all they could do. About 4 months went by and more and more of the re-coated concrete has been coming up little by little. Our backyard looks horrible. We contacted John to come and fix it or to get a refund. He said that he could give us a few hundred dollars off and that was it. To say the least, I wish we had read more of this companies bad reviews and put flagstone or pavers in the back yard, as it would have lasted much longer and looked 10 times better. UPDATE Jan, 25, 2021- John came out and witnessed all the cracking in his coating product. He informed us that our existing concrete pads were poured long ago and were poured too large thus when the earth moves, the concrete gets cracks from the movement. As his product is poured directly on top of the large concrete pads then this product which adheres to the concrete will move and crack with the pad. (which is NOT covered in the warranty) Yes, this makes perfect sense now. However, This would have been great to have had this explained to us BEFORE we paid for his product. The best he could do is, have his guys come back and add some more stain over the top of the existing bright white cracks to hide them a little better. Which he did. He also said that they could grind out the cracks and re paint the lines to look like flagstone at an additional cost. Again this is another bandaid for our backyard, the only permanent fix is to demo the existing large concrete pads and re pour them smaller or go with a different product like flagstone or pavers which you will not see cracks as they move with the earth. We will not be giving Arrowhead Deck any more money as Trust in a company, trust in their product and trusting their expertise is huge for us and this company has completely lost our trust. Update- June 2021- The product coating our backyard continues to disintegrate and keeps coming up and falling apart. This is an extremely expensive product that does not last more than 2 years. read more

Finally I had them apply and texture with an acrylic coating to reduce surface temperature (and it worked). Very happy with the quality and value. I hired Arrowhead Deck and Pools to complete my pool from the shotcrete phase. I had several bids before I contacted them. Arrowhead was the only contractor that actually came to my home and took measurements before submitting a bid, the others just went off the plans I submitted. I was impressed from day 1 with this company, I've been in construction since 1987, it's not easy to impress me. I signed the contract after thoroughly reading it. I received a schedule the next day. I was contacted whenever an employee was scheduled. My pool is complete and we are more than satisfied, I would recommend this company to anyone in need of pool work. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! This company was hired to resurface a pool at a condo complex. First, the crew showed up reeking of marijuana. They caught the clubhouse on fire when they used the torch to cure the deck. Then they did not refinish the pool up to code, so it had to be redone. The pool was re-drained, made to code, and refilled. When they refilled the pool, they taped the lock to the gate so it would not latch, put a running hose in the pool, and left the premises. No one was alerted to the propped pool gate or the running water. If residents did not happen to come across the state of the pool the next afternoon, the pool would have overflowed. Thank God a child did not come across the open gate and no tragedies happened. When board members from the HOA asked for an itemized bill they were told by the company that they do not itemized bills. The HOA incurred the cost for all labor including the employee lighting the clubhouse on fire and showing up impaired. They also incurred the cost of double the pool chemicals because the pool was filled twice for their mistake. The only thing that was reimbursed was $160.00 for filling the pool twice. The owner of the company John Trice called a board member demanding payment and did not seem to care that the actions of his crew endangered every child in the complex. He repeatedly raised his voice, yelling at the board member, threatening litigation. The board member referred him to the management company for payment. The HOA board members do not deal with payment to vendors. That is dealt with through the management company. The board member was repeatedly harassed by the Arrowhead pool company for payments that the board understood was already paid. This company has demonstrated that they are unprofessional, unreliable, and use dangerous practices. read more

Four years ago Arrowhead did my pool deck and patio. Initially, it looked beautiful. I was told by John that preexisting cracks might return. I understood that. What John did NOT tell me was that new cracks would appear. Over time, in addition to the new cracks and reappearance of the old, the re-coating chips in chunks. I hired Arrowhead because at the time he was a Rosie on the House recommended contractor. Later when I returned to Rosie's website for a referral, I checked to see if Arrowhead was still there ... Nope. So there's a legitimate reason for this. There is no warranty or guarantee of the "quality" of the work. So, those of you posting high praise within weeks or a few months after having Arrowhead do the work. I get it. But just give it time. Which is very unfortunate. If you have money to throw away, go for it. I did not. read more

We had to do something with our water-damaged concrete patio and our entry that was covered with fake grass - ugly! After looking at the guys that advertise a lot (you know who they are), I discovered that they had very poor reviews. While on Yelp, I noticed that Arrowhead had some great reviews, so we called John. He's quite the salesman and convinced us to use Arrowhead. Their web site is great and they work very well with email - a plus for us. So we scheduled our job. It was an awful week. We had power failures (another story) and it rained for 8 days straight, but his crew did what they could and pulled it off. The result was not quite what I expected, but it's growing on us and we really like it. Visitors always comment on how nice it looks! I don't usually write reviews however, I'm compelled to write this one. We recently had our pool redone with new pebble, waterline tile, concrete surround (back half of the pool), and patio refinish. We were very unhappy with our experience with Arrowhead Deck and Pool. The work was supposed to be completed by February 16th but was not complete until April 1st. Actually still not quite complete as there was a paver that was supposed to be reset that we gave up on just to be done with it. The work was all contracted out - something we did not think to ask as we did not know it would be an issue. The contractors were unreliable - not showing up when they were scheduled (or at all), typically with no call or text to let us know therefore we spend many days just waiting around. A great deal of the timeframe extension was due to a punctured water line that happened during the concrete work. The pool had to be half drained three times then a full draining again before the completion. The finished product is not what was expected and nowhere near worth the money we paid... big light patches in the pebble (very noticeable) and concrete work that does not measure up to the existing work that it was supposed to match. The tile is the only thing that turned out as expected and does look good. We had a guest visit us from Montana and as we were sitting outside visiting she asked me if there was something wrong with the bottom of the pool or is it supposed to look like that. She was not trying to be insulting, but it was embarrassing to say the least. This was an extremely frustrating experience to say the least. We did research online but found no reviews for this company (we clearly did not look at enough sites), and we did not take the lowest bid. I would in no way recommend this company unless you have very low expectations, nothing to do with your time but wait around for people to show up (or not), and are willing to pay a pretty penny for what could quite possibly be a large disappointment. I had Arrowhead install a new deck in 2016 for $10,000+. To be fair they did a nice, timely job on the install. Then... 1. The deck you they installed for $10,000+ lasted one summer before it began to crumble in places. 2. The crew that made the warranty repairs the next year didn't attempt to match the original deck color or design and informed me that was the best they could do. 3. The "fix" didn't last the summer and after "putting up with it" for a couple of seasons I contacted them to express my displeasure. See attached email. 4. John Trice from Arrowhead and Rusty Gonzales from Preferred Deck Systems and I had a meeting on January 14, of this year to discuss the problem. At that time, Ms. Gonzales rather smugly informed me that the problem was not hers and that, "Many homes in the area where the concrete was poured in the '90s have this problem because inferior concrete was used." She also told me that I should use an "acid wash" because the pH levels in my water is bad. Side note: I was not initially informed of the potential "concrete problem" nor the "acid" fix. Also, Mr. Trice had previously informed me in an email that he had, "Never had a deck do this," so there seems to be some contradiction in the stories I am being told. I would also wager that new customers aren't being informed of this potential problem even though Ms. Gonzales claims it is a "common one." 5. At the conclusion of our January 14, meeting we agreed that Mr. Trice would send me an estimate to address just the problem I currently have, provide another estimate to install a deck that would last even with the 1990"s "inferior" concrete, and finally, Rusty Gonzales was to send me more information as to how best to prepare and use the "acid wash." 6. While I have received Arrowhead estimates, I have not heard anything from Rusty Gonzales. The two estimates I received to remedy the problem were: * Replace the sections that initially lasted only 8 months for $4,300. This means I'll have to pay an additional $4,300 to install decking around the pool that will not match the patio and - since the same materials will be used as the original - could not be expected to last any longer. I essentially would need to be prepared to pay several thousand dollars every couple of years to maintain a mismatched patio/pool deck that I purchased from a company who originally sold me on the idea that they provided the best quality. * Install Travertine Pavers for $16,815. This means that I would end up paying over $26,000 for a project that was originally a little over $10,000 and I would be hiring the same company and supplier whose product didn't last 8 months. Also, if the offer only covers the area around the pool I would have a pool/patio area that was mismatched to say the least. So in conclusion, if you have deep pockets and don't mind paying for deck repairs over and over again that won't match the original you may consider this company. As for me, I'm going find some deck patching goop and do it myself. As the pictures show, my deck can't look any worse. ---------------------------------- Following is a January, 2020 email from Arrowhead owner stating he, "Never had a deck do this." This was shortly before our meeting when he and the material supplier suddenly remembered that this was a common problem and the word "efflorescence" was used for the first time: I would be happy to take a look at the issue; something is definitely wrong. We hired to resurface and coat our pool deck. The initial part of the process seemed good, enough so that we hired them to come back and pour additional concrete to extend the deck and carport. Unfortunately, we had the opposite experience. The workers didn't so show up, delayed for days, no courtesy calls or follow-ups, still haven't shown up. Additionally, it's been less than 60 days from the first resurface and there are multiple cracks. read more

Apprimately one year ago I had the exterior front entry to the house and the pool deck resurfaced. There are now multiple cracks in the pool deck area. I contacted Arrowhead concerning the cracks, and was directed to the contract, section 6 which states " they are not responsible for cracks due to concrete settling". Arrowhead refused to come to the house to inspect the cracks, or make any effort to fix the cracks. Beware when contemplating business with this company. Make sure you have read the "fine print" and are aware of the limitations and potential failures of their product. read more

We are so glad we chose Arrowhead Deck & Concrete to do our work. our son had used them for his back patio, and we knew he was very happy with them. We had our back patio area done with a "Cool Deck" treatment, including repair, texture and paint. We also had an epoxy coating put on our garage floor. John Trice was very professional and listened to us to understand what we wanted done. The estimates were very easy to read, and gave us the choice of which service to choose. The workers, Dave, Chris & Edison, were very polite, competent, professional, and caring. They cleaned us the work are each evening, and were very clear in their instructions to us as to when we could walk on it, and when we could put furniture back and our cars in the garage. OK...here we go...first...read THEIR Contract...it clearly states that if you have on ANY sprinkler in any part of your yard...they can walk off job. When my husband questioned this and was being forced to sign their Esign with no explanation of several questionable elements of their contract. Well...the owner not the Rude office girl named Tammy called me himself to Inform me that in 25 years of business Noone (be smarter than the folks they dealt with in the past) questioned anyway of his contract and if we won't sign they don't want to do our job. Becareful of people walking away from a 20k garage addition concrete pour ...I'm sure in my opinion your 2k to 10k job is easy to walk awY from as well. Have the man on tape. Super rude....and best part they rushed to cash our deposit check BEFORE this was signed SOOO...you figure out whats important to them in my opion its Money Money Money and certainly not customer service! read more

Great to work with! We had some really old concrete that was chipping and not looking good. John came out and measured and was very up front about the process and how it would work.
