Amazing food, great allergy menu (especially gluten free) and great employees and staff!

I've mostly only stopped for breakfast at Rainbow Grill. There are gluten free options, which includes gluten free bread for toast. No gluten free pancakes, pies, rolls, or cakes though. Eggs have always been cooked well, as requested, and bacon is thick and perfectly crisp. I've always had good ham steaks, sausage, and omelettes. Rainbow Grill has become a go-to breakfast stop. My only complaint is how hash browns are prepared. Hash browns are mostly soft, kind of like a shredded potato pancake. Some people may like that, but it isn't my preference so I avoid them. I would recommend at least checking the restaurant out. read more

This is a Hudsonville area popular restaurant for everyone. The staff seem genuinely happy that you are there. The place is quite busy especially at breakfast because many locals meet in pairs and groups regularly. The food: They have improved the scrambled eggs which used to have a strange flavor. One menu item I have disliked twice (and won't order again) is the "Sizzler" steak. It actually hurt my gums trying to chew it. Much better in my opinion is the seafood entrees, cherry chicken, and oriental chicken salads. I would give them 5 stars if they would improve the "Sizzler". read more

Right off I-196 at Hudsonville, MI, it's a clean and pleasant place with plenty of room (and at 7-ish on a Monday evening the place was still about packed, although we did get a table right away). If you're on the road or just near Hudsonville in West Michigan, this place is a go-to staple. I had fried chicken, a salad, and homemade split pea/ham soup. Went there for dinner tonight and got seated right away. After that............ Nothing. I had to leave and run to Subway. Don't come here if you're expecting to get fed in a timely manner. I've been going to "RBG" for a while now and the service is just impeccable. I went with some acquaintances to get some dessert on a Tuesday night and our server was absolutely wonderful. I was driving into Grand Rapids from Chicago looking or a place to eat, other than fast food places, and there are not many options along I-196 from Benton Harbor. This is a family style diner, that was open and serving after 9pm, although I think I was their last customer of the night. Their location is a little tricky, up the hill to the right from the highway, they need better signage, maybe a lit sign. It's a big place, with a large menu, basic fair, nothing fancy, with daily specials, and reasonable prices. I assume they represent the restaurant stylings from the GFS menu of items. Went on a Saturday for lunch... The place wasn't super busy but had a decent crowd. The interior is nicely decorated with an upscale family diner feel... It was clean and inviting. They have baked item up front in a case... My dad said they are very good... We didn't try any this visit... But they looked really good. The menu has a decent variety... I didn't really pay attention to the dinner entrees as we were there for lunch. Burgers, wraps, soups and salads on the lunch side... And breakfast until 1:30pm.... My dad and I both got the chicken pot pie @5.99$... It was DELICIOUS! Lots of chicken... Veggies tasted fresh and it had a yummy creamy sauce inside the crispy outer shell. Although it wasn't huge... It was very filling. My son got the chocolate chip pancakes...they were also good... Light and fluffy... And the stack of 2 were so big he couldn't finish them... The waitstaff was very nice and attentive... And the prices for what we had more than reasonable... We definitely will be back when in the area. read more

Good food and excellent service, at least for breakfast. Most of the people here seemed to be locals, which is usually a good sign. Our breakfast was prepared quite well and the staff were friendly and efficient. Even though there were plenty of customers, the tables were far enough apart that dining area was fairly quiet, which we liked. We plan to make this a regular stop on our travels through Michigan. Bland, mediocre food and small portions. The chicken breast I ordered was not a full breast, but a thinly pounded half breast. It was also extremely over-cooked and dry. Soup is homemade, but has no seasoning or salt. The waitstaff is friendly and courteous, which is why I gave two stars instead of one.
