Well, hell, I wish I would've read these reviews before calling these incompetent, inconsiderate idiots. Unfortunately for me, the person who just sold me the Florida condo used this company to service the air conditioner. We hadn't even stayed there yet, and we already had to have a service call a month after purchase due to a leak from the unit upstairs that fried the electrical board which controls the air. We don't live in Florida (hence, the VACATION condo), so I had to have my 75 yr old stepfather go there for the appointment. They tell him to be there on Wednesday between 2-6pm, so he is there by 2. No calls, no show. He called me at 7pm to say they hadn't showed. I call and get stuck on hold for 30 minutes waiting for someone, and I get a rude call center person who says she can't do anything. She says she will get a "manager" to call my stepfather. No one called him. It was all BS. I finally told the poor guy to go home after he sat there 6.5 hrs in the heat. An hour after he left, I get a call from the service tech saying he had a bad day, truck broke down, etc. Well, that's great, but you obviously have a phone. Did you think maybe calling the person waiting for you might be a good idea? He says he will reschedule the appt to fit my stepfather's schedule which would be Friday morning between 8 and noon. I'm told we are FIRST ON THE LIST, so my stepfather should be there by 8am. He lives 45 minutes away, so he got up very early to beat rush hour and was there by 7:30am. Of course, he calls me at 11am to tell me no one showed yet. No call, no show. I call. I ask - no one knows. Can't get the tech to answer his phone because he's on another service call. What about "first on the list" do they not understand?? This results in my 75 yr old stepfather sitting another five hours in a hot condo waiting for these idiots. DO NOT use this company. They are horrible. Jasper, the tech, was a cool guy and clearly knows what he is doing, but I am starting to think he's the only guy who actually does the work, and they give him an impossible schedule. The icing on the cake was when the guy finally showed after 1pm, he installed the ordered part and then calls me to tell me there is no freon. I said, "how is that possible since that is exactly what you did on your service call a month ago and why I had your number to begin with?" He said, "Oh, maybe there is a leak". I said, "YES there is a leak since the paperwork YOU filled out says there was a leak and you were supposed to return to fix it!" Um, oh, uh... So, guess what? ANOTHER five days of waiting because another part had to be ordered, and they finally finished the work they were supposed to have finished before I even closed on this condo! I am still beyond pissed off right now that they would do this and not have a care about it. Every time someone promises to call me back, I get NOTHING. I had at least six promised call backs during this fiasco, and I never got one - not even when I called the "corporate customer relations" number and complained. I had to call THEM back. And they were useless too. Furthermore, you would think with all of this terrible service, they would say, "We are so sorry. We will discount the charge" or something like that. But, nope. Let us waste ENTIRE DAYS for you with zero consideration, and then you can pay in full.No idea how this company stays in business. TOTAL CRAP! I don't care how hot you are that your air isn't working. I'd sooner bring in a random guy walking around Home Depot before I'd ever call this company again. Stay away! read more

I was solicited by one of their representatives while I was shopping at my local Home Depot. I have a large house with two separate units and have been considering replacing one of them. As a part of my process to obtain estimates I started with this company. Their salesman showed up at my house a few days later and started his sales pitch. I already had a trusted AC guy that does my work but I wanted to get an estimate from ARS just for comparison. The salesman gave me an estimate sheet with three different selections with good, better and best options. When I showed it to my AC guy he told me that he could install the same or a similar system in value and performance for about half of what I was quoted by ARS. So, in conclusion make sure you get more than one estimate before paying the big bucks. read more

Below is my experience so far with ARS through Home Depot for the last (over) two months: May 9th Rick (who is actually personable, knowledgeable, and professional) came to do the estimate. We were to get another condenser and two new units while moving one of the existing units we already had to another bedroom. May 11th installer came and said condenser was back ordered. Was told days to a week. Did not install 1 ton in master even though it was for existing compressor. Full amount of install charged on 5/11 and on 5/17 statement from Home Depot Asked for update on 5/19 at 735am. Not called back all day Texted Rick at 515pm on 5/19 to request update. 5/20 new condenser was installed along with new inverters. Got call on May 20th to schedule electric on 22nd. Electrician came out and then left and said the appointment wasn't for install but for looking at the job for scope of work. Electric was hooked up on Saturday May 23rd. Electrician said he was asked by installers not to turn electrical power on to units because they had to come back to do "something" (he didn't know what). He said they told him they would come Monday (Memorial Day. Thy assured him They were working he said) No one showed on Monday May 25 Called tuesday (26th). Install coordinator asked if that day, Tuesday would be ok for them to come do whatever they needed. No one showed or called. Called Wednesday May 27th Was put into a voice mail box. Left a message at 230pm. Got letter to schedule inspection of completed work on May 27th from ARS (even though work wasn't done) Texted above to Rick Sulyma at 345pm on May 27th Got voice mail at 440pm from ARC stating on call person would call night of May 27th. No call again from anyone. Voicemail to Amy on May 28th at 910am. No call back at 1245pm on May 28th. Called again and was told she was still at lunch and would return my call when she got back from lunch. Came on May 29th and "activated" units. promptly on July 1st they failed the inspection. Texted photo of inspection report to Rick. Appointment for July 8th to correct inspection failures and to correct leaky unit from install in guest bedroom upstairs which was discovered the very first time we tried to use the unit (apparently the installers don't bother to test their installations) No show/no call on July 8th. Texted Rick to let him know. Got a call at approx 1230 on July 9th to schedule someone for Friday July 10th. July 10th. No call. No show again. Texted rick at 930pm. No reply as of 1pm July 11 so texted that I would contest the charge with Home Depot. I'm currently looking into contesting the charge with Home Depot credit services. Credit card fraud aside I now have a non-working installation that has failed both the county inspection AND the actual use of the units. The company refuses to answer my inquiries and the most frustrating thing about this is that Rick clearly knows that he works for a bunch of thieves as one of the things he was most adamant about at the beginning was to contact him before writing a review (which I have, several times now). I was solicited at a Home Depot about a simple tuneup. It would only cost $19. My unit was running fine when the 20 year old technician came in and looked it over. He said it looked fine but he had never serviced an older unit. Then when he turned it back on it did not come on. So he left it in pieces and told me someone would be over to check what was wrong. An older technician who basically called me a liar and that said my system was already broken and would repair it for $247.00. It was working fine until they touched it. Now I'm getting someone else in to look at it and I don't have a working HVAC system. Which means no heat or air. He told me if he turned it on it would catch fire. I think this company is trying to scam me into purchasing something I don't need. The attitude of the older technician was very rude and demeaning. The Customer Service/Dispatch Department fails in it's performance. In the week of August 21, 2017 I called and scheduled routine maintenance service fo my A/C system. The representative I spoke with scheduled this service for Wednesday, August 30, 2017 between 9-1. At 12:45 on that day an ARS representative called and told me that service is not provided in the Ocala area except on Tuesdays and Thursdays and that a new appointment would need to be scheduled. The next appointment was scheduled for Tuesday, September 5, 2017 between 2-6. At 5:45 on that day an ARS representative called and told me that they wouldn't be able to make this appointment. As a single head of household these two missed appointments resulted in my losing 2- 1/2 days of wages awaiting the technician's arrival. The next appointment was scheduled for Thursday, September 28, 2017 between 12-4. I called ARS at 4:15 on that day and told them that no service representative had called. I was called back immediately and told that a service technician would be calling me shortly. The technician called and arrived at 5:15. The service was performed satisfactorily. I got this service through Home Depot. I had the inside and outside unit installed. They didn't even install the breaker in the wall properly. a year and week after they install the unit it started to make a really load noise shutting down. I called them and they told me that I was a week late for them to do anything about it and for them to send a technician out it was gonna cost me a $99 service charge. Skip forward a year now. I came home and it was 93 degrees in the house. I called them to see if they could do anything about it and was offer a service plan of $240 for the year and the service charge would be waved. I accept and pay for the plan. The tech came out that night and told me it was the capacitor, then it was a wire that came loose, then it was a burnt wire. In any case he charge me the $99 service charge even though I wasn't supposed to be charge one. I've been calling them for over 2 weeks now and all I'm getting is (someone will call you back within 24-48 hrs) I guess their time frame and everyone else is different. If you want lemonade by all means use this company. We purchased a new unit exactly 15 months ago and had to make several repairs. From day 1 I should have know better they were late getting here and a month or so later we needed a service call and it's been nothing but problems with this company and the equipment. Called ARS Orlando for service mid to around the end of February, they came to site and service my unit and add additional parts that I purchased from them. A/C was working fine before they got here but after they leave, it would come on and not stay on and stop working completely. Being in Florida, the heat is always high and they house reaches 90 degree during the day and humidity is high. Called them to come look at it, they wanted to charge me even though I was within my 30-day service window. They refuse to provide service and was rude about it. Advised me a supervisor was going to make a decision and call me back, until this day, I have not heard anything from them. I called customer relations and spoke with Synthia Bolton who took my case, told me she would take a look at it and get back to me. Still have not heard anything from her and it's been about a month or so now. Communications is not their forte, one department does not communicate with the other and everyone you talk to give you a different story. This is the worst company to call for service and that was the second time I had problems with them. First time, the mini split they installed leaked so much it ruined my wall/baseboard and wood floor. Shame on me, it won't happy again. read more

I purchased an a/c system sold as "NEW" when I purchased my condo 7yrs ago by a company then called "Air Care Solutions".  After paying thousands to have it installed, they had to come back again the following day because the system was not setup correctly (reflected on the receipt).  The allegedly brand new system was not blowing cold air and I suspected it's because they're selling refurbished units as new; however after the subsequent visit the system seemed to be performing properly although its never been able to achieve frigid. Fast forward to last week, my system was set to off, when spontaneously it kicked on, but no breeze was blowing.  Thank God I was home, because soon my entire unit was filled with smoke from what smelled like an electric fire.  I shut off power at the breaker where next to it was the indoor part of the a/c unit I purchased blazing hot and pouring fumes; if I hadn't been home or were in the shower the entire condo complex might have been razed by the fire or even worse, fatal. The fire department pinpointed the origin of the flame and indeed it was inside the a/c unit where apparently the blower board ignited and the fail safe failed (photos included).  After some research online, it turns out the model I was sold had been recalled because of mislabeling that is considered a fire hazard, albeit it was the 2015-2016 editions,(which presumably were new and improved...https://www.goodmanmfg.com/airhandlerrecall  So newer versions of what I purchased were included in the recall, but apparently not the older version that at least anecdotally is also a fire hazard! I contacted the manufacturer and was told I would have to wait for the fire department report before I can proceed with replacing parts still covered under the 10yr warranty.  I tried contacting Air Care Solutions but they are now defunct ( of so I thought), they are actually now operating under the name "ARS Rescue Rooters".  I discovered this by happenstance when I saw one of their commercials advertising a "Free Estimate" and gave them a call for that offer today.  When I gave the customer service representative identified\ as "Irene" my name and address she located my information already in their system and put me on hold.  When she returned she verified that I purchased the units through their company, I confirmed & told her about the fire; we set an appointment for me for tomorrow.  I've been without ac in FL for a week now! Moments later, I received a suspicious follow-up call from someone identified as Cynthia from ARS.  On the surface she was asking me what I called about and to expedite the appointment to within the hour for the free estimate, but truly it seemed to be her attempt  to begin the process of denying responsibility for the product they sold me.  My suspicions were confirmed when the   My suspicions were confirmed when a technician identified as Jose showed up and denied they had ever even sold me the ac unit but would gladly sell me another AFTER he saw that the unit they sold me had indeed ignited in fire at the blower board card (video attached to proceeding email-too large to include in this email with the photo attachments).  This cannot possibly be legal, much less a fair business practices when it seems to me to be clearly a bait and switch. Kindly, help me if you can.  I believe the system they sold me is older than they represented it as, and also very much an ongoing fire hazard risk to others unfortunate enough to have done business with them.  Judging by how shoddy and shady their service was back then and continues to be now, I imagine it wouldn't be hard to find further evidence from the phone records alone. I should've read the reviews first. My experience with this UNPROFESSIONAL company was a total nightmare. The salesman's George failed to informed the installers that my late father's home had a french drainage system. George was in such a hurry for my business and my money. George Persuaded me by stating that if my spouse or a family member was a veterans, I could get an additional $1600 off the bill. I Qualify for the discount because my fiance and my late son, United States Marines Served our country. What a distasteful sale line to use to get cheaper service. When the initial installers came to my home, they were impolite and rude. The installers were upset because George the salesman requested the installers to install a new unit that same day. The installers had just finished a prior job and had arrived at my home after 3:00 p.m. They were infuriated because they knew that this job was going to take 6 hours or more to complete. Which means they were not leaving my house until 9 or 10:00 p.m. I couldn't take their rude behavior and I asked them to leave. Therefore, George had a second crew to come out the next day, they were quick and respectful however, haste makes waste. The building inspectors failed the job because there wasn't a drainage system installed Another installer had to come back to my home to install a drainage pump. The Start date for this project 10/03/2019 to 11/01/2019. I should've went with my initial instinct and gone with Cool Ray AC company. Buyers, please learn from my costly mistake. read more

My 76-year-old mother, for some reason, had this company come out on Sep 13, 2019. They cleaned her evaporator coil and the blower housing area and sterilized the ducts for $885, setting an appointment to come back to install an air cleaner for another $900. Less than a month later, my mother was dead. When I got to Florida at the end of October, the elderly lady who had been living there with my mom was wearing a ventilator mask and saying she couldn't breathe since they came out whenever the AC was on. Due to a plumbing problem, I went under the mobile home and was shocked to discover the ducts were laying in the dirt and had significant holes throughout, presumably from age or rodents. My question to them was "How could you sterilize the ducts when they are filled with holes and laying in the dirt? Did this contribute to the fact that both elderly ladies living there couldn't breathe after their duct cleaning and that my mother, in fact, died from respiratory failure less than a month later?" My mom did have existing respiratory problems and an autopsy was not performed. I wish it had been so I would know what she had been breathing for nearly a month. I just had a visit from the ARS Rescue Rooter tech repair guy called Ali raach. He was extremely rude and impatient and acting as if he was doing a favor. It was an unpleasant experience. He did the diagnostic and the tech was refusing to tell me the part name which was defective according to him and saying that he had it on the invoice which he was going to give me before he leaves. We went to this company because they were the ones who originally installed our AC unit when we went through Home Depot. I am never ever going back to this company again. Got a call from a woman to confirm appointment today 10-2.. sure enough 2 o clock rolls around and no technician... called and spoke with an Alex who said they were down tow systems so the techs were behind... could've give me an estimate on when the tech would be out... I waited until 5 called again and got a guy that could not have been more confused... he had no idea what was going on... said my appointment was cancelled... cancelled when I never cancelled anything, got a call from their office confirming the tech would be here today... and followed up with this "Alex" person who said the tech was running late... This company is a total rip-off. They sent four different technicians to my home. Charged me $800 (all parts were under warranty so there was no charge for that), "diagnosed and repaired" two different issues, and advised a third issue which needed a different replacement part (wanted to charge me an additional $1000 for that). After all of this my AC unit is still not working two months later. It's never worked since the first time they came out. This unit is three years old!! I was even told by the quality control manager that my system requires technicians who know what they are doing, yet the first three technicians they sent out did not know how to work on my mini-split ductless system!!! He said he only had two men who knew what they were doing, so the fourth person to come out supposedly knew what he was doing. He was the one who said it needed a new compressor and the charge would be $1000 for installation. I now have a different company working on the system and after speaking with the manufacturers technical support team they have determined it isn't the part that ARS advised needed replacing for $1000. Technical support said that the part that actually needs replacing is a part that ARS had already replaced and installed a month ago. I spoke with Alex from quality control and he refuses to acknowledge their negligence in diagnosing and repairing what actually needed to be fixed. They refuse to refund even a partial amount paid. I understand that they need to be paid for time spent on my system, but it doesn't work!! I don't want them anywhere near my AC, I do want them to refund the money I spent. read more

Requested for A/C tune up from Home Depot and they sent ARS, my A/C was in perfect condition after they tried to something one my units stopped working as temperature in the house is at 78 when outside temp is 85. I am pretty sure it iss working as I was at home since noon and this happened around 3p.m. Tech also saw the thermostat and did something went upstairs and opened the unit. After 10mins or so he came in and said your thermostat is not working, what....The tech who came in does not have any knowledge on A/C except he can clean the vents :(. Not sure why he was trying to open everything when he does not know what is going on. Called Home Depot, they talked to ARC, they are sending a senior technician. Alert! Scammers! The service man was in my home for 2 whole minutes. He stood in my doorway, immediately noticed how warm it was inside and immediately said without checking anything or even looking at the thermostat, "I thought you just needed a tune up, you need your a/c fixed so I'll have to charge you a full service charge plus an extra fee for because it's a holiday." I told him that it was so warm because I had the a/c off all day and was cooking dinner and that he didn't even look at anything before spewing out all of the extra fees he came prepared with. Needless to say, he left after 2 minutes. Wasted an entire 4 hours today waiting on them (scheduled between 2-6, and he arrived at 5:36 for 2 minutes). Also, the reason for my call was for a tune up on my a/c because it wasn't cooling as quickly as usual as I was told about the $19 tune up special. I called three separate times to confirm the appointment because it was a holiday and neither of the three people I spoke with mentioned a thing about a holiday charge. I think holiday charges can be expected but found it "scam-like" that neither of the three people I spoke with mentioned it. Definitely not using this company again. read more

In June we were up for our annual service inspection. No one ever came out or called. Last night we had to call out a technician in an emergency when our Air Condoner failed. The blower motor failed (Burned up) in the air handler. Had the scheduled inspection taken place this emergency could have been avoided. The same thing happened last year. No one showed for the inspection or even call to schedule an appointment. Now I'm expected to pay an outrageous expense to have the motor replaced. I've had it with ARS. read more

My window: 10 am-2 pm He shows up at 1:30ish and determines my washer line is clogged. He doesn't have the equipment to clear the drain. Says he'll be back "in a few hours". I let him know we were going out for the evening, leaving at 5. He said he would be back and done by 5. I called him at 4:30. "Ya, sorry I couldn't get the equipment". I had to call him! I called ARS to complain and was told the manager was not there but he would review my complaint and call me when gets in at 9:30 AM. It is 4:20 and still not a word! Not happy with the company. Used them only because my deceased father had been using them in this house. Have had 4 service calls in the last two years and the system is always out of Freon. Maybe somebody should check for a leak?!?!?! A/C units are not supposed to lose any Freon. Each time I wasted and entire day or even two waiting for them to show up. Called for yet another problem and said I was interested in perhaps getting a new system. MISTAKE. The guy arrived and told me a blower motor and control board were bad and would be about 1700 dollars for parts. Then he said my compressor was probably bad, and that would be another $3000.00 to $4000.00 to replace. Looked them up on the internet and found retail to be 1/3 of that. Unit was out of Freon again, and he told me nothing could be done except replacing the system. Kind of stumbled over that some laws would be broken or something to repair it. Then quoted me $8,000.00- $10,000.00 for a 15 SEER system for the place. Then he told me it would probably be more because they would just HAVE to replace all the ducting. Once again some vague ref to laws being broken. I explained the ducts had recently been inspected by Duke Energy and deemed to be fine. Had told me that Carrier systems sucked because they have special size filters and high parts cost.....then tried to sell my a Carrier system. WTF? I found a parts only cost of $3,000 to $4,000.00 for the same rated system on line. They want $6000.00 or more to install? Maybe the problem is that I know how A/C systems work. I fix them on aircraft, and can explain every step of the way how they function. I understand parts costs and markups...and service costs. I am seriously considering just buying a system and doing the install myself at this point. The pushy Jersey accent didn't impress me. I know just as much about A/C theory (maybe more) as the tech did. Just because I don't have a uniform shirt, doesn't mean I am stupid. Follow up- Kudos that they tried to follow up, but at this point I prefer no more contact with them. Rolled up my sleeves and jumped into the system to diagnose it. After 30 minutes of work I found that the blower motor is fine, but the blower controller is bad. This is not the "Control board" the tech had pointed at and claimed was bad, but an integral part of the motor assembly. Complete set up for both parts can be found for as little as $511.00 on-line. Controller is barely $300.00. Total labor time from diagnose to replacement was under 2 hours. Weigh that against the qoute of "1700 bucks for the parts alone...". Now that I've dug into a home heat pump set up, they are simple as dirt in operation. Going to help a buddy install one ground up in his garage next month.... read more

I wish I could give this company a 5 star review. My rental property A/C went out and I had a very Hot and upset tenant. I called this company at 4:30pm-5pm and was told it would cost $119.99 for a service fee, I asked if they could service ASAP. I was told by a Ben that it wouldn't be a problem, and they would give me a call about an Hour before the tech would arrive because, I didn't live there. I got a call from my renter's at 10pm still no one showed up. When I called to get a time frame. I was left on hold for 2 hours with the lovely same message" Thank you for holding and then it goes into ARS Ads on what they repair" Clearly they state they are 24 hour service, Answer NOPE! Clearly my call was not important like they said about 200 times on hold message. read more

I am only giving this company a 2 because the servicemen have been very nice; however, I believe they are being used to scam the customers with price gouges. First, they are never on time with an appointment, and they do not communicate with you if they will be late... Second, I've had to have them come check my unit 3 times in 6 months for a leak. First time, in June, the visit was seemingly thorough, but no official leak test was given. They added some Freon into my unit and hoped for the best. Second time in September, they raised the price on their initial visit from $80 to $100 - ridiculous. Then they did the leak test which was around $276 ... and then they found the leak was in the valve. The valve cost around $189. I paid, but never felt comfortable with the pricing. Now, this Third time around in December, they've come back and did another leak test to find a leak in the Evaporator Coil. They said it's under warranty, but they're charging me $950 for labor???? Seriously??? After all of this trouble, and the fact that they couldn't detect the leak the first time around because they didn't test for it; yet, they're expecting me to pay $1000 because they didn't do the job right the first time? Nope. Not happening. Frankly, I should get a new unit since it's under warranty. I'm super frustrated. Don't use them if you want to save yourself the heartache. I should've checked what they were like, online, before I even bought the unit. Our 25 year old central a/c had died right after hurricane Irma, so arranged for an estimate through Home Depot for ARS. After choosing our new unit, they were scheduled to come out the very next day at 10:30 am, and they arrived right on time. They had to rebuild the indoor air handler closet and Braulio and Dominick did an awesome job! It was quite extensive but they never rushed and did things right. We couldn't be happier with the excellent job they did! Love our new a/c unit! read more

Two years ago my father purchased a goodman AC from home Depot and ARS handles the warranty. Twice already the unit has been inoperable. They're stating the control board needed to be replaced and it was causing the the freon to freeze up. I contacted them last night because the unit was not producing cool air. I told them my 90 year old father was being released from the hospital and I could not bring him to a hot house. They promised to come first thing in the am. After repeatedly calling, the tech showed up after 4pm only to tell me the unit that was purchased and still under warranty had a defective coil and that is what was causing the freon to leak and freeze the control board. The kicker is that despite having a warranty, they were charging 800.00 to replace the coil. I know the coil is still covered by the warranty and these people are trying to take advantage of my 90 year old father. I will make sure that the news media heard about this and the owner of ARS will be put on blast for unscrupulous business practices. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST. So, the day after ARS corporate saw this review, they called me and refunded me this year's service contract (which is not completed yet) and assured me that they are going to make changes. I also received a number to call any time I need to schedule services, however my appointment had already been rescheduled for Thurs, 26 Feb from 1000-1400. At 1537, ARS called to reschedule their blown appointment. I had already given up on them and was out conducting other business by that time. Will be calling to cancel the service contract. One star rating still stands, only because Yelp does not have a lower rating. read more

This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked with! Do not use their services!!! RUN - and RUN FAST! The sales person came - presented the company as stellar (of course) when it comes to AC products, warranties, customer service and service plans. We were promised a next day install once we signed the paperwork for the install of the Carrier Infinity system which "is one of the most efficient and comprehensive systems on the market" We upgraded to additional features like dual UV Air purifiers, electronic filters, upgraded wifi thermostat, etc... They showed up the next day and spent the day installing the system, at approximately 10pm they determined the inside system was the incorrect unit and not compatible with the outdoor unit or the thermostat. So they had to order a new indoor unit which would not be available for a day or so... Meaning I am without AC until they could locate the correct component. Luckily they found one the next day in a warehouse and brought it out to install - this was another all day event as they still had issues with the system communicating with itself. After many attempts they connected and the system was working and after 2 days off from work and 2 days without AC in the middle of August it was installed and working. This did not include the add on pieces - like the electronic filters and UV air purifiers... they had to be installed at a later date - so 2 more days of time off from work for them to come back out and install each component on different days. Several months passed and I found that the system would not maintain the temperature in the house... I would set the thermostat on 74 and it would keep the home at 78 or 79 deg. I called they sent a technician that did not know how to even change the thermostat on the wall - he told me the thermostats had been malfunctioning and they had been "seeing this quite a lot" and that I needed a new thermostat but he "wasn't familiar with the infinity system and can not install the new one" He spent over an hour and a half after he could not install the thermostat working with the the system to get it to "sync" and work again. I was instructed to call them back for another service call. Which I did - 2 weeks later they sent a technician with a new model of thermostat and he installed the new thermostat. Within a few weeks of the "service calls" ARS began calling me to set up an appointment to do a bi-annual inspection (check list) and service on the system for an additional $169.00 which was suppose to be included in the original purchase of the system! I called to get clarification on the service and the operator kept me on hold for over 12 minutes - when she returned to the line she said her manager was in a meeting and I needed to call back or email her. I asked her to email me her contact information as I was walking downtown and did not have a way to write down her email. She said no that she had to many phones ringing and did not have time to email me... I asked her to have her manager call me after the meeting and she said "OKAY" and hung up. So much for customer service... Within 5 minutes of her hanging up on me 2 different operators called my cell phone to follow up on my phone call - neither were managers and they just asked how can I help you - we saw that you called. I explained to them I was waiting on a call from the manager and the second young lady said "Tyler is transmitting payroll with accounting and will call you as soon as he is finished" Over 48 hours after I was promised a call back from the manager and no contact from Tyler or any other manager from the company.I even emailed yesterday - and nothing... Not the customer service I was promised when I purchased the new system for over $15K- nor the services I was originally promised by the sales person. Jennifer understood my position and offered to refund a portion of the price I paid for the service. We came to an agreement that was satisfactory to both parties and ARS credited the money back to my account within days. This is the worst damn company and I would never recommend them to anyone. I never review anything so it says a lot that I am writing this here. I bought an ac unit to replace one that I died. It was purchased on 10/27/17. In December when it got cold I turned on the heat and the unit started making a loud noise like it it was a gas powered generator. It did this at 3AM and the neighbors came to complain. I called for service and after 3 techs, the company said they would replace the unit. The replacement was made on 1/12/18. After the tech installed it at 10pm after being told he would be here in the morning, he turned it on and the unit broke down because the fan cut the wires to the motor. So he left without fixing it and said a senior tech would be out Saturday 1/13/18 in the morning. At 7pm a tech comes by and reconnects the cable. He said everything was fine and got it working. Today Sunday, The damn unit is making the same loud generator noise again and it hasn't even been 24 hours since installation. I have two elderly parents (86 and 75) who are now in a house with no heat because this unit will make that loud noise again in the middle of the night. I just called their service and they told me a field supervisor would be out here early in the morning. Which from experience means they may get here around 7 or 8pm. I truly believe this company is using old units and sticking them into new boxes and passing them off as new units. Their excuse will always be "it's a manufacturer's defect". If this does not get corrected I'm seriously thinking about taking legal action against them and want a FULL refund for this worthless crap. read more

The list of problems with this company is legion. From the site with the annoying and recurring pop up chat window to the performance failure of the technician; and those aren't the worst of it. My AC unit is fairly new, but I called on Monday to set up a Spring Tune Up as their commercial advertises. I set up an "after 2 pm Wednesday" general appointment and was confirmed by phone the day with a voicemail. When Wednesday arrived I was home and waiting by the phone@2. I received another call from customer service at approximately 4 pm on Wednesday verifying my appointment and specifically telling me the technician will arrive by 6 pm and I confirmed that would be fine. When 6 pm arrived I received yet another call, but not to say that they were on the way; instead to say that the technician reported that they already came by my location at 2:36 pm and since I missed my window they will not be returning to my location the same day! I quickly corrected him that I was home, waiting, and missed no call at 2:36 pm; if I had then wouldn't that have been mentioned during the 4 pm call?? Long story short, don't get hooked by the gimmick. If the service is this bad before a service call is made, God help you if they actually come to your location and handle your equipment. read more

ARS are CROOKS!. I purchased a service contract & made an appointment for routine maintenance on my HVAC. They never sent anyone to do the scheduled maintenance. Instead they sent a salesman who tried to pressure me into buying an whole new HVAC system. He told me he would give me a special price of $5300, regular price $8500. High pressure sales tactics used to get me to sign a contract for the new A/C system...Rep would not leave my home until I signed contract. I called around for other quotes after he left & learned I could purchase the same system as he quoted for about $3000-$3500....BUT all I needed was routine maintenance. RIP OFF COMPANY! read more

We had them through Home Depot install our A/C after the hurricane. They have NO customer service. They do not return your phone calls, they say they will do something and do not. This has been going on over a year. Than to keep up the warranty the A/C is to be serviced twice a year by them the first year is free, the A/C was serviced once. I sent in the payment for the next year could not get them to tell me where to send payment. They sent out a card saying it was canceled, but the phone# they had on the card was not even a number. Between them, code enforcement ( because they didn't do it right the first time, and Home Depot....AWFUL! STAY AWAY! read more

I hired these guys via The Home Depot to replace my duct system. ARS is the worse company ever! They lied about properly pulling the Seminole County FL Building Permit. I was pink slipped by Seminole County for not having a permit. One of they're workers fell through the ceiling creating a 3 foot square hole. It took 4 days to send out the supervisor (who tells me, "no problem) to screw a piece of fiberboard over the hole. Meanwhile for the previous 4 days, all the heat from the attic was filling my house as well as insulation dust blowing throughout. It took a total of 9 days for the repair to be complete. When the drywall guy came, he tells me my attic is an ice box??? ARS sends the supervisor back out (who once again tells me, "no problem), and he an employee fix the leaks. I then have Duke Energy send out they're A/C guys (http://www.advancedenergyservices.net) to inspect the work. Complete fail!!!! 3 holes, 6 out of 10 boot feeds leaking as well as being masticked on 3 not all 4 sides, Pentium not masticked in the back, tape falling off. 3 of the coupler's leaking, the 2 back bedrooms didn't even have new boots! Instead, some sort of jerry rigged fiberboard makeshift contraption. Not glued or taped down, simply aiming towards the hole. The inspector was able to put his entire hand between the makeshift thing and the drywall! Now I know why the kids complained about their rooms being so hot! The attic had 2 half empty mastic buckets as well as all of they're trash just left up there too! I ended up paying the guys from Advanced Energy Services to re-engineer and fix the system properly. 3 weeks latter, after barking all the way to the Home Depot Headquarters in Atlanta, Home Depot reversed the charges on this crap job! read more

Their customer service is terrible! We scheduled to have them come on a Saturday between 12noon and 4pm. The technician left us a voicemail message in difficult-to-understand English at 7pm telling us he stopped by and no one was home. That's because it was three hours after the appointment window. We rescheduled for Sunday between 1pm and 4pm. The technician was a no show again. The call desk folks were rude and unsympathetic. Stay away! read more
