Keep this spot in mind not only for the big fancy dinners but also for Friday happy hours! They have happy hour throughout the week, but it's a rare gem to find one on Fridays until 7 PM. I enjoyed a glass of sangria and the empanada of the day, which was ham and cheese. The bartenders here are great and you never have to wait long. Be sure to check it out soon!

(Kari's Rating 9/10) Made a reservation for 7pm for my birthday dinner with two friends, we were seated right away and served our first round of drinks. I ordered the Brazilian coconut punch. It was absolutely delightful. The coconut punch was very light, almost like a mature piña colada without the full sweetness. My second drink was a Pisco sour, it was a little too sour for my taste, but I should've known what I walked myself into. That was on me. My friend got the Derby and it's very bourbon heavy, but it had a nice citrus finish. Both drinks were quite refreshing. The first round were two empanadas, one with cheese and spinach, and then one with beef, it came with a very light chimichurri sauce, which I thought was a little bit oily, but I preferred the cheese and spinach empanada over the beef. The main course was a skirt steak, I ordered it medium rare, it came out cooked to perfection. The chimichurri sauce made a second appearance and I learned how to drain it from the oil and was even better with the steak! I initially thought the potatoes probably could've been made with a little bit more butter, but I'm glad they weren't, as the meal was already rich enough. The steak was the perfect portion size as well, I finished the entire thing. We also ordered the roasted brussels sprouts for the table and I'm glad we did as they rounded out the entire meal. The dessert was a flan. Texture was not a traditional flan, of a but a stiffer texture. The nut crunch on top was really well done and it also came with a side of almost a buttery mousse. It was the perfect light dessert. Overall, the server was very attentive and the meal was absolutely delicious, and everything came out in a respectful timeline. I would probably come back all the way from River north to come here out of my way, it was that good!

First off ima just say the lamb = TENDERNISM!! the dishes were really good, service was ok. the vibe was pretty cool and they have a well decorated bar + a stage in the back. Appetizers were great also, they definitely gotta come harder w/ desserts tho, they weren't good.

    Meal for 2 people

Incredible experience! The Brazilian punch is a must-try (I had two). The chicken & steak platter was seasoned perfectly. Every side was a hit. A huge shoutout to our server, who was engaging & professional, & the one-man band who kept the vibes high all night. We'll definitely be back!

It was my first time at this restaurant! The decor and ambiance are really cool and there was a musician playing and singing so it creates a great atmosphere! But, the food was mid, it was good but it did not stand out in terms of flavor profile. We went during Restaurant Week and the highlight was not the CRW menu which was a bit suspicious...Good to visit for the rustic vintage atmosphere though!

Was in the mood for an Argentinian steakhouse to celebrate my anniversary. It was refreshing to go somewhere away from downtown. We dined on a Friday evening and was able to sit in their patio area. To start, we shared 3 empanadas - all of which were delicious paired with spicy chimichurri. Highly recommend trying them all. We shared the steak flight and got 2 sides which was a good amount of food for 2 people. Everything was delicious! The meal felt light and flavorful. The steaks were cooked exactly how we wanted! I will say service was slow like other reviews have mentioned. Nonetheless, our waiter was nice.

Cocktails are really good here. It was the bartender's second day working at the restaurant and he did a great job! The mango basil margarita was refreshing and good. The derby was good with a slight tartness to it. My friend said the pisco sour was good also. Trio de ceviches was delicious and they give you fried plantain chips to eat it with. The ceviche was fresh and yummy. Asado de Domingo (3-4 people) is a great deal and the variety of meat you get is great. It also comes with salad and mashed potatoes. The short rib is HUGE and so tender and juicy. So good. It comes with sauces on the side for each type of meat. Highly recommend. Oblivion dessert wasn't too bad. The portions are small, but each bite has a lot of flavor. I would suggest trying another dessert dish.

Dark, classic, exposed brick, beautiful chandeliers, an incredible bar, perfect lighting, every detail of the atmosphere was spot on. This place is a perfect 10 when it comes to ambience. This was a HARD reservation to get, and I worked at it for quite a while. Let me tell you...it was worth every bit of the effort! We had an awesome table with a view of the kitchen staff hard at work, which made the experience even better. We started with the warm homemade sourdough bread and their special butter. OMG. Do not skip this! It is an absolute must-order and was the perfect start to the evening. From there, everything that hit our table was delicious. The steaks were easily some of the best our party of four had ever eaten perfectly prepared and absolutely outstanding. My wife ordered the salmon and loved it. The mac and cheese was incredible, and the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts were all top notch. There honestly wasn't a weak dish on the table. The cocktails were excellent too, with a very healthy pour always appreciated! But what really made Bavette's special was the entire experience. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks, the service, our table...everything came together for one incredible evening. We've had a lot of great meals over the years, but this one will stick with me for a long time. It was my birthday dinner, and I can easily say it was the best birthday meal I've ever had. Bavette's isn't just a great steakhouse it's an experience. An unforgettable night and a true 10/10. I absolutely cannot wait to come back.

Our main server, Billy, and his team could not have been better; available when you needed them and out of the way when you didn't. When my wife mentioned to one of the team, she wanted wine with our entree, Billy was there 10 seconds later with two reds for her to taste. The focaccia with beef tallow was suggested by everyone, we thought it was nice, but nothing special. We split the beef cheeks for another appetizer and it was spectacular. We also split a Ceasar salad that was good. Both of us ordered the rib eye and a side of whipped potatoes. Both were phenomenal. Nice touch with offering the option for the kitchen to slice it for you. At this point, we were pretty full and got lemon sorbet (not too sour, not too sweet) crème brûlée gelato (good) and because it was our 39th anniversary, he brought us an "Italian donut " (sugar donut with vanilla ice cream) that was great. I noticed another table getting the biscoff cheese cake, and carrot cake. They looked great and were HUGE. Coffee came a little late but that's being picky. Complimentary lemon cello ended the evening with a nice touch. My wife said the service and food made this a wonderful experience and a memorable anniversary. I agree. The atmosphere is dark but romantic and the noise level isn't bad. I do have a HUGE COMPLAINT!!
