I assume this place is only good for their tea (which I didn't try). I got the applewood rice, gyoza, bacon chicken bites and bao buns. The pork belly bao buns were the star of the meal. Pork belly was tender and cooked perfectly. Everything else was just so bland. Probably the blandest food I've had in a really long time. The gyoza was typical gyoza you get anywhere. The rice was cooked perfectly as it wasn't too dry but just lacked in flavor. The honey chicken bacon bites lacked that bacon flavor and it was just sweet in my opinion. Artea is one of my favorite bubble tea and takeout treats, and everything about the new Culebra Commons location is beautifully styled and aesthetically on-point. Review update: I originally gave Artea 4 stars because I loved the boba - best in San Antonio! - but was disappointed with my food order. Since then I'm updating and giving them a 5 star rating because management went above and beyond to make it right. Great business. We have become regular customers now (mostly for the boba). We do come here pretty often because my kids love Boba tea but today made me want to find another Boba place. When ordering I told the girl at the register I wanted the chicken with the fried basil. Our food came out quickly along with our drinks but when we got the food they gave us the honey chicken instead. We were hungry so we just ate it so that wasn't a big deal but the cashiers should really repeat the orders back to customers to avoid confusion. As soon as we sat down I did also decide to use my points and order my free sharable, you can only order pick up on the app which I did, but right after I went and asked the cashier if we can have the food come to the table and she told me no because they have no way of telling the kitchen which was strange because they have literally done this for me every other time. Anyway the to-go was taking a little longer than I expected and a few other people who came in after I ordered received their food . I did happen to see a to-go that I thought was mine sitting up on the counter, but I didn't ask because I did that once and they told me the app would let me know when it's ready. The app was not updating so I just went up after a few mins and asked if it would be much longer and the girl behind the counter realized that my order was the one just sitting there and no had updated the ticket for it so it never showed on the app as ready. I have been here several times, never at a time as busy as it was today. My order was missing food. I communicated this, they took my order back to the kitchen and returned with another box of what I already had, instead of what I was missing. After checking my food again in the car, I return to inform them again of this. They take it back to the kitchen and return after about 10 minutes with my correct order and also with 1 less box of what they had given me prior to (to be clear, this was an add'l box that they had given me, that I did not pay for). I ask the employee where's the box and she stated "we're going to give it to another person that orders it." I stated that this practices was unsafe and unsanitary since I opened all of those boxes and potentially breathed on them. She mumbled "ok, well I guess we'll throw it out," as she rolled her eyes and walked away back to the counter that she was wiping down. Never did she go back to the kitchen to inquire about that box of food. On top of that, she seemed to be very unpleased with me speaking to her at all. I guess it was just an inconvenience to provide service. Let's ensure everyone is trained adequately on food safety and let's get rid of anyone who doesn't practice it. But just as important as food safety is proper customer service. Lack thereof leads to lack of customers and lack of jobs and lack of business. read more

Really good food and drinks but you are unable to add or change toppings. All they have to do is charge you extra. So if I want brown sugar on my boba or change a side I can't. Which it makes half of the order wasteful if I won't eat it. I can pay extra. read more

Walked in and it was very neat and organized. They have an assortment of drinks to choose from, from teas to smoothies to boba. The food had just as many options and the pictures did not do them justice because it was 10x better in person. My only gripe was the cashier kept jumbling up the order and the price point for what we order was in my opinion too steep. For example we ordered 3 entrees and one drink and it came out to in total almost $70. Every time we come here the customer service is awful and the wait time is so long. But we deal with it because we like the drinks. This evening we ordered 2 drinks online through order ahead and immediately were estimated a 30 minute wait. We were only a couple minutes away but understand it can be busy. 35 minutes later we went inside because it was past the time of estimated pick up but we hadn't gotten a notification that the order was ready. We asked inside where it was and it was not found. We waited longer. Then we went to the front to try to cancel our order and the cashier got someone else to come talk to us. They had placed our drinks on the bottom shelf of the ubereats pick up. We definitely did not order through ubereats. I have never used ubereats in my life. Regardless, she said the order had been ready for a while and was extremely rude about it. Did not apologize or try to amend it any way. We get outside and the order is wrong and the ice is melted. Artea is possibly the BEST spot to get boba tea!! Everything is so delicious and reasonably priced!! My go tos are Gua bao and the teriyaki chicken don and oh my goooodddddddd I tried the potstickers for the first time and literally went back the next day bc it tastes like ur meeting god. The staff is so friendly and quick to make sure you're taken care of!! As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for years I'm genuinely impressed by how put together everything is!!! The owner should be proud of themselves for birthing a San Antonio icon!! I'm so excited to try more things on the menu but honestly don't even debate on going here just do it!
