This is one of my favorite places! I even order to go quite often to my work. My favorite is the Tom Kha soup, but I also love their summer rolls and pumpkin curry! Just waiting for it to get colder here to enjoy the hot food that much more. The Thai tea is also excellent, I've never had a bad experience with service or flavor. I will just say this is a small little restaurant, it would not be suited for large parties needing multiple tables unless you communicated that before hand. This is it. This is the authentic Thai flavor you are looking for in San Antonio. Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior of this place. The parking lot is weird with about a dozen spaces, but the food makes up for it. Inside, there are plenty of seats for dining in. The menu is like a very nice photo album taking you on a culinary trip through Thailand. The off menu specials might be displayed on your table or the board near yhe counter. What a cute restaurant with a nice ambiance! It is small (8 tables) but don't let that fool you! The food was absolutely spectacular and portion sizes were great too! Every dish was obviously made from scratch the traditional way, with the pastes pounded in a mortar. Everything was a flavor bomb - brilliant, fresh, and so delicious I could hardly stop eating! The Pad Thai was incredible, the Green Curry some of the best I have had. The owner was obviously very proud of her dishes. Seating is not plentiful, nor is the parking in front. Of course we had to go back! Went today for their lunch special which is until 3 pm cst. Today was busier than our first visit. The service was great and the server recognized me which is awesome. They're very kind and helpful. The ambiance is homey and time from order to getting your food is no longer than 10 mins which is crazy with the amount of people there today. We ordered something different this go around - I got the pork pad Thai no spice and hubby & his coworker got the massaman curry (beef level 2 , chicken level 3 spice - respectively). Service is fantastic. The nicest people work here. No liquor license so that's a money saver by bringing your own. Recipes are all fresh and flavorful. Amazing. I cannot say enough about how good the food was at this tiny restaurant. Literally four or so parking spaces (ended up down the street) and 8-9 tables. We started with the cheese rolls.. crispy with an awesome, creamy dipping sauce. The lunches began with a soup ... deep flavors in a thick broth, tofu, and lots of veggies. I had the Massasan Curry bowl .. coconut milk, cashews, russet and sweet potatoes served with rice of choice. I went for brown rice. The curry sauce was rich, flavorful, and aromatic. A small interior with large food! The new menu is a well executed book - with color photos, helpful in making a selection. My friend ordered the Pad Wood Sen with prawns - Clear glass noodles sautéed with broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, onion, bean sprouts and egg in a Thai brown sauce. He is a taco or hamburger fellow - so this was a real experiment for him - treading on unfamiliar territory. He raved about his meal. Even the following week when we went to Stone Werks he mentioned how much he liked his meal at Thai Curry. The food is really that good. My order was Green Curry with pork (Jasmine rice) - another great selection. Homemade green curry paste with coconut milk, bell pepper, zucchini, pea-carrot green bean, eggplant and fresh thai basil. The menu has many items - and should address whatever you like in Thai food. Friendly and prompt service. I watched as another table had a small cooler with wine and beer. They were brought wines glasses. I do recommend Thai Curry to you. I decided to go for the Pad Thai lunch special, which was priced at $10. The waitress brought out the soup of the day to begin. It was a vegetable soup with a nice flavor to it. Soon after, my main course arrived. It included a vegetable roll along with it. I found the meal to be delicious! I went with a heat level of 4 (out of 5), and it was just right. I had first heard of @thaicurrysa from my friend Donna. Tonight, we thought to check it out and so glad we did. There are only a total of 6 tables and we were early enough to get seated quickly. Dad had his Lemonade and my husband and I both had the Thai Iced Tea. Super sweet! I might try a smoothie next time. We started with the Egg Rolls with the tamarind sauce. It was temperature hot! Had the large bowl of Rice Soup. We shared the Thai Fried Rice with roast duck, Pad Thai with shrimp and Grilled Fish. Such generous portions and reasonable prices. Definitely another meal with all the leftovers. We had eaten way too much that we didn't get to try the Coconut Ice Cream. Everything was delish! They don't add spice unless you ask for it. I would be remiss if I didn't offer a review of Thai Curry. This is a new restaurant on Broadway close to 410. What I didn't know is the owners used to own Lemongrass Thai on Thousand Oaks. They are the nicest couple. They sold that restaurant and decided to retire. But they grew restless and decided what they wanted to do was get back into the restaurant business, but in a smaller location. We were so happy to find out they have opened this location. And we want to give a shout out to Joe, the main waiter and entertainer of the house. He was the reason we went to Lemongrass so often. He's such a funny guy, but can handle the whole front of the house at the same time. The food is great. They have spring rolls that are so crunchy and delicious. All of their curries are great, but my favorite is the red curry. On our recent visit we had a party of 6 and everyone loved their food. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering their location. One of the best things we like is you can bring your own beer or wine. They have wine glasses. The Pad Thai was delicious! Some of the best Pad Thai I've had. With each dish you can choose your own level of spice on a scale of 1-5. I don't like things very spicy so I just did a level 1 spice. It wasn't spicy at all and just to my liking. They will bring you extra spice on the side if you want to add more. For each plate you can choose the meat.
