Took my wedding dress to get fitted, the lady by the name of Kim was very helpful and courteous ! I had my straps shortened and cups put in, after we picked up the dress and tried it on, I was very impressed! The dress fit like a glove and they did a very good job in measuring how much to take in according to my body type ( short, chubby 5"0 ft ) which is normally very difficult and expensive!! The dress took about 2 weeks to complete which is super fast but also did not compromise the quality of work they do! My final total was around $120 which I paid half upfront and paid the other half when I picked it up and no hidden fees! I honestly can tell you I was nervous when I first got my dress to be measured there because I felt it would be too loose or wasn't enough that needed to be taken in, but when I put my dress on it fitted perfectly!!! So I highly suggest you leave it to the experts unless you know exactly how to tailor clothing! But thank you guys again, I will be bringing in more business! read more

I called for prices prior to visiting the store to have 2 patches stitched onto the back of my leather MC riding vest. When I got there the price went up substantially. If you want an accurate price prior to having any work done, go there, don't call. The work was done quickly and the sewing was great. The patches had intricate lines & curves to follow. The stitching was tight to the edge and straight. It was worth the money I paid. A++ read more

It's been a while since I have been in, but I have given them everything from my Lucky Brand sweats, to Ann Taylor slacks to an old pair of jeans for mending! Been here 3 times and was disappointed after the 3rd visit. I went to pick up my pants and it literally took them 10 mins to find my pants. Strike 1. After finding my pants the guy told me the pants had not been alerted yet. Strike 2. The guy apologized and said it would be ready in about an hour. I payed $70 to get 4 pairs of pants tailored here, 3 pairs of BCBG slacks and a pair of True Religions. So I thought, not a bad price for expensive pants and everyone loves this guy. Not a single one was the right length that I asked. The hem fell out of one pair already and the tailor didn't even do what I asked for on another. Customer for life!! To make a long story short....we went to get a suit 6 weeks before our wedding. The sales clerk at Nordstrom's laughed in our face when we told him we were looking for a tan suit for our beach wedding. Apparently "every store in the valley had cleared out the summer suits to bring in the fall suits" and "there are absolutely no tailors that can finish a suit in that time frame." I took a pair of Nudie jeans in to have a hole fixed. It was only $10! I went in on a Wednesday and asked to have them Friday. No extra charge to have them that quick. 24 hours later I received an email notifying me that my jeans were already finished. I went right away to pick them up and took another pair with me for them to fix. When I got home I looked at the patched hole and you almost can't tell there was ever a hole. They did an incredible job fixing them and even reinforced another area that looked as though a hole would form there as well. I couldn't be happier with Artful Tailoring! read more

He was outstanding and making the garments follow the contours of my shape, in most cases better than the originals ever fit at my prior size. I then decided to purchase a custom, 3-piece suit (jacket, skirt, pants) and was absolutely thrilled with the outcome. It is made beautifully, and fits like nothing off a rack ever could. I had an appointment for noon to measure me for a new suit and look at fabrics. I asked his opinion on some different ideas which he wouldn't do. He said he would only make one suit for me. He then tried to charge me $65 just to measure me. I couldn't believe it being that the suit I was looking at was $1500! I will never go there again! Terrible customer service. read more

I read a few negative reviews from other unhappy customers but I thought I would try this place out anyway. When I arrived my wife and I met Alladin, shop owner, who seemed very confident. He said he worked with pro athletes and sounded like he knew what he was talking about. He tried selling me a suit and said it would be worth the money. Later I purchased an $800 Hugo Boss suit and came back to see him to have it altered. He made all of the necessary markings and pinned the back of the jacket to be altered. A week later I came with my wife to pick up the suit and he handed me the wrong suit (good thing I checked). He didn't ask me to try the right one on so I asked if I could make sure it fit. Long story short, he never altered the jacket and the pants seam was off. He tried to charge $200 for doing nothing to the jacket which is a scam. He finally agreed to fix the jacket so sent us to lunch and made some adjustments. He didn't know how to work with the modern Hugo Boss material and you could see the stitching marks from the hem on the outside of the pants legs . WHAT A JOKE! I was going to seek legal advice but figured I would spend more on a lawyer than just making the ruined suit work. If you need anything complicated done or if you are have anything of value do not use this guy! PLEASE BEWARE and don't ignore these complaints like I did. The next day we received a call, saying it would be triple the price. He was extremely rude and kept cutting me off saying "are you done?" . I found this company by doing a search on google. I had an NFL jersey that I needed to get something stitched on it. I emailed this company because they were in my local area, and received a response within 1 day, the response was very professional and polite. I took my jersey to them on Friday 4/12/13 around 3pm. They knew exactly what I wanted. When I was asked when I needed it back by, I told them "no rush". He asked if Monday would be fine. I told them yes, he then asked if I would be in the area on Saturday (the very next day 4/13). I told him I would be but only around 11am. He told me he couldn't promise anything but to call around 11am. I did and it was done! Excellent work! My jersey look great!! The price was wonderful and they had it less than 24 hours! On Saturday when I picked it up, I also noticed how nice the suits were. Because of this great experience I received, I will be suit shopping here. Thanks!!! read more

Artful Tailoring, a horror story... Where to start?... I guess the beginning. With my new suit and 2 pairs of jeans I walked in an establishment called artful tailoring. It was busy. I took this as both good and bad. Unfortunately for me it will become a disaster. The suit was tried on first. At the mirror the tailor informed what crap they sell at the department stores and proceeded to pin straight up the back at the center of the jacket. He asked me how that felt. I said o.k. not really quite sure what he was doing but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. My first mistake. Then he proceeded to pin both the inseam and waistband of the slacks. I did not ask for this but again thinking he was the expert and saw something I let this go. My second mistake. He gave me less than 90 seconds of his time for this "fitting". My third mistake. I should have taken my clothes and left but I did not. I will take responsibility for not being proactive and simply leaving when I knew this situation was going to turn out badly but I did not. Still thinking that this shop does make custom suits and they do know what they are doing I was dumb enough to ask if they really could alter jeans. Of course we can was the reply. They were tried on, pinned and taken off. At the podium he informed me the jacket would $95.00 since it needed so much work. Having the jeans waist taken in would be $24.00 each if they were to be done right. So the entire bill for what I assumed was going to waist suppression and the shortening of one sleeve on a jacket, the taking in of the waist and hemming of suit pants, and the taking in of waist for 2 pairs of jeans was going to be $187.00. At leaving the clothes I believe the responsibility now rested upon the tailor to do a good job. At these prices I was really expected a great job. Another mistake. About an hour after I left I received a call asking whether they were supposed to hem the jeans. I knew for sure I was in big trouble. A week later... Picked up the alterations. Was never asked to try anything on at the pick up, again they were busy and I let it go. At home..... First I took a look at the suit. The collar was really small and misshapen. I then noticed the right sleeve which was to be raised still had the chalk mark on it so obviously it had not even been touched. I then flipped over the suit jacket and much to my incredulous disbelief apparently someone had simply cut the jacket in half. From the bottom all the way through the top... yes I mean collar and all. It took me awhile to actually soak this in as my eyes simply did not believe what they were seeing. Next I tried on the slacks. They were so tight I could not close them and so short the Michael Jackson would have been proud however I was now close to some very angry tears. I grabbed the jeans flipped them over and of course only to discover that the inseam had simply been pulled together, again way too tight, none of the excess waistband material even cut out and sewn back up the rear of the original seam and above each back pocket a dart was inserted. Yes darts. You have got to be kidding. My favorite jeans now had darts in them like some bubble butted ole lady clothes. I was charged $24.00 for this fine job which was the "right way to take these in", I can only imagine the wrong way. I was now staring at a completely ruined suit and 2 pairs of my favorite jeans. The next morning off to a new tailor I went to see if there was anyway anything could be salvaged. The first of three simply shook her head and told me that my jacket was ruined and the tailor who did this work plain and simple owed mew a new suit. This was the consensus among the three tailors and two fabric shops I visited that day. By the end of the day I donated my suit and jeans to Goodwill. I got a call yesterday from artful tailoring, he informed me that I bounced a check with him. No I said the check did not bounce, payment was stopped. He asked me why I did not ask for a new suit. Fair question. I feel that I should take some responsibility for knowing that I never should have left with my clothes but I did not. However if they think they should be compensated for destroying my clothes they do have another thing coming. This testimony is to you "artful tailoring", to any judge, jury or executioner that will need to hear this, but mostly to any unwittingly poor naïve person that will step into this place of business. I bought my wedding dress on eBay. I had never bought clothes online before, but this dress was almost exactly what I've wanted since I was around thirteen. It had lots of lace and faux pearls in intricate designs, especially on the bust, and it had faux pearl buttons going up the back. Well, the seller gave me the wrong measurements, and the bust had to be enlarged in order for me to fit into it. I really didn't want to return the dress, with it being so nearly perfect, and so I looked around to find a tailor to have it altered. Looking online, there were several tailors. Most of them only had one or two reviews, one bad and one good or fair. Artful Tailoring had fifteen reviews, and thirteen of them contained high praise. I decided that this place was worth checking out. I made an appointment with Aladdin. He told me that it would be a difficult alteration to make, and that it would be expensive. He took my measurements, and calculated what he would need to do to make a successful alteration. He advised me to contact the seller and find out if she had any extra material available. Since I didn't want to use the train that had come with the dress, I offered it to him to use as necessary. He said that the train would suffice. We discussed some other details, and I scheduled an appointment four weeks later for a fitting. The dress fit perfectly four weeks later. He had done away with the faux pearl buttons, which while pretty, would be excessively annoying on the wedding day and night, and he had replaced them with a ribbon strung through loops in the back. He had built a corset into the dress, so there were no concerns about what bra I would wear or if anyone would see it. I couldn't even tell where the alteration began and the original dress ended. The ribboned corset seemed to be part of the original design. He had recommended hemming the dress, but I decided to wear high-heeled boots instead. I am very shy, and so I didn't look at myself long in the mirror - only long enough to know that I looked and felt like a queen. To make matters perfect, not one of my female friends or family could find anything to criticize about it, and they all agreed that it was the exact dress for me. My wedding would have been very different without this dress, and Aladdin made it so that I could wear it on my special day. To sum it up, Aladdin was very honest and to the point. He gave me his abilities and limitations, and he delivered exactly what he said he would. He surpassed my expectations, and even though the alteration was expensive, it was entirely worth it. He earned every penny. If I needed his services again, I would not hesitate to call upon him. I would recommend him to anyone. read more
