About two weeks ago was my first time eating at Arthur Macs. It's only outside seating but they have a bunch of heaters and a nice shack to protect you from the rain. The area is pretty and I love the feel of an outdoor tavern since the tables and chairs are mostly wooden. Our service was ok. It was not bad but there was only one waiter serving the restaurant and I happened to go at a very busy day. One of our friends got a wrong order but they were very quick to apologize and replaced the pizza. They also let us keep the wrong order so we tried that. It was a small pepperoni pizza which was phenomenal!! The bread was the right texture and the pizza was not too oily. Absolutely loved it and it made me anticipate my order. I got mango habanero wings along with my pizza. Did not take a pic of the wings because I was so hungry and they were TOO GOOD! The wings are actually spicy and slightly sweet which is missing in a lot of mango habanero wings. The Who's the boss pizza was amazing. It was extremely meaty and the medium portion was huge enough to share among 4 people. The hot honey really complements the savoriness of the toppings and the cheese in the pizza. 9/10 experience for sure. My only complaint is we asked for a fresh mozzarella add-on with our pizza but did not receive that. Unfortunately, I realized that after the fact because our order took about 20 mins and I was so hungry I just ate the delicious pizza without realizing the mistake. Again, I believe it is because it was a particularly busy day for them and not anything reflective of their service. I just wish I realized while we were at the restaurant. Our server was nice though, and brought us more hot honey when we asked for it. In any case, this is definitely the best pizza I've had in Oakland. Will definitely be coming back. What an amazing outside space. The inside is nice as well! I was craving chicken wings and decided to stop by Arthur Mac's. I enjoyed a slice of their daily meat special pizza called Three's Company & their Pizza Port Chronic Amber Ale while listening to an awesome band called Tip of the Iceberg Quartet @tipoftheicebergq. There are not a lot of kid-friendly spots throughout the East Bay that have kiddo sections/menu/and an overall kid-friendly vibe that gives parents a boost too. While parking can be a bit tough, I personally feel it's worth the walk across the street (we parked on 41st in residential). Upon entering you are greeted by nostalgic fun and games that are tailored to kiddo fun. Hand claws, car racing, etc. You can order on an extremely large kiosk your entire meal, including the brews. We went with a full pie (Hawaiian), Caesar, brews, and a kid's meal (comes with a slice/choice of side/drink/AND crayons/coloring page/mini skateboard. Also, their sauces are super yummy..if you're a ranch fan, they've got a good one you can order a 'double' of! The pie was extremely fresh, flavorful, and crispy, and this was my first time ordering a salad..did not disappoint. The Caesar had tomatoes, and I appreciated an extra pop of color. The kid's meal is a great value ~ we chose the sweet potato tots as the side and I think again, those did not disappoint. Oh! They also have froyo to add to my kiddo friendly fun review. Was a great post-dinner and play treat. On your way towards the restrooms (essentially to the left of them) you will find a play area and also a little nook to sit/also holds a few other car racing games. You can order at the kiosk and take your number around the corner for food/drinks to be delivered to you. Quite honestly now as a mom, I feel the appreciation for this even more. We were ALL able to enjoy a nice meal outside with friendly staff, patrons, and lots to do for our little one. Pricing is fair (although I noticed adds up quickly with the fun variety, hah) and appreciate the value of the kids meal including more than just a slice. On New Year's Day, we were on our way to another restaurant when we passed by this spot and immediately had to stop. The Christmas lights were still up and glowing beautifully even in the rain and the place was so eye-catching that we couldn't resist going inside. The restaurant is cashless, which made paying with our card super easy. I do wish there had been an ATM so we could play the old-school arcade games, they definitely brought back childhood memories. We ordered a Hawaiian-style pizza, which was surprisingly great, but the real standout for me was the lemon pepper wings. Hands down the best part of the meal, I'll absolutely be coming back just for those. The space is family-friendly with plenty of seating, a cozy heated fireplace, and a welcoming atmosphere overall. Great beer garden that also has good wine and food! Great for large parties. You can order inside at the counter or using the QR codes on the table. Seat yourself and bus your table before you leave. All seating is outdoors, but the outdoor area is spacious and well covered with heat and a fire pit. I came on a cold rainy afternoon and was surprised at how pleasant and warm it was there. For the past few yrs, Oakland Arthur Mac's has been the go-to place whenever we want good food, good drinks, space for a big group, chill parking, and nice outdoor vibes -- but not a single one of these compromised. This location has a pretty spacious patio outside with seats around a fire pit and long tables for 8+. You can order with a QR code from your table, and they bring out your food fairy quickly! A must get are the WINGS. Super crispy and tasty!! Recommend getting them sauced up rather than on the side - the latter tends to be more dry. I've tried the bbq chicken, margherita, and elote pizzas, and all were well liked by the crowd! Recommend a simpler margherita if pairing with wings. As for sides, garlic fries are 10/10 must get! Sweet potato tots are cute but honestly do not rlly get picked from the table if next to any other fries. Ambiance - 5 stars although it's mostly outdoor covered seating. I don't think you can beat Arthur Macs for vibes especially if you have kids. Read: there tends to be a lot of kids here. A few fire pits, picnic benches, booths, old school arcade games... this spot is a perfect spot to hang. The food is fine and it's a tad bit pricey, but it works for convenience and how family friendly it is. Is it the best pizza in the world? No. But they have some great options and it gets the job done - it's very crust forward. And at $5/slice and $30/pie, not the cheapest, but that's the going rate for pizza these days. A few things: We also ordered the house nuggets, which were delicious fried morsels of chicken served with a nice ranch we could also use for the very crusty crust. Milk and juice was a bit of a rip, so keep on with the water and beer. Overall, we haven't been in years and we returned as they were offering a free slice to kids in their next level football program jersey, which my son does. We needed dinner and wanted to support, and what genius marketing. My husband and I both agreed we need to revisit more often. read more

Even on cold and rainy days, it's a great spot since it's covered and there's plenty of heat lamps all around. Pizzas here are tasty. I really enjoyed the thinness of the crust and the flavors of the BBQ chicken pizza as well as the elote one. My love for the crust unfortunately was not shared amongst others in my party, as many people thought it was far too doughy and ended up leaving a crust graveyard on their plates. Decent beer variety on the menu, but during my visit, all the sour beers had tapped out. Stouts that were on the menu were a 3 out of 5 as well, and nothing special. Overall, good spot to hang out with friends over some food and drinks. Service is prompt and ordering is over QR code at the table or at the bar. Last but not least, street parking only. read more

I really enjoy the honey lemon pepper chicken wings, especially because they allow me to order them extra crispy which is my preferred method of wing cooked-ness. This is the perfect place if you want to hit the (heated) patio with some friends and enjoy a few beers, pizza, nuggets, and wings. That being said, I enjoyed this on New Years Eve....take out style!! It still hit the spot. The pizza we got was the Specialty Half and Half 14" where you got to choose 2 of their pizza flavors! Perfect for those of us that want to try a few slices of multiple flavors. We got the East Bay Elote Pizza 14" and Artie's Margherita Pizza 14". Both were yum but I think given how many of these sound delish, we would be happy to try different combos next time. They also have a daily meat and veg pizza and the daily meat one happened to be the Who's The Boss? which I think we were both a huge fan of. This place is more for the crust fans as there is a lot of crust made in an oven with a blistered bottom. If you're the more is better with toppings and don't eat the crust, this is not your pie. We came here for a friend's graduation dinner. We had a reservation but the tables weren't set aside for us which resulted in some wait time since they were pretty busy. The way it's set up you order inside and find a table (most seating is outdoors, there are a few seats inside) and they bring the food out to you. We got some pizzas and apps to share. It was pretty busy and loud when we went so if you're looking for a quiet place I wouldn't suggest this one. Some of the items came out quickly and others took some time. They also have QR codes at the tables that let you order once you've sat down and they bring the food out to you. The pizza was by far my favorite part. I really enjoyed this pizza. It was served hot so be careful. The crust is super fluffy and airy. The sauce is flavorful and the cheese to sauce to crust ratio is perfect! Stopped by here for a late ish dinner with my girlfriend last Friday. The seating area itself is really nice - it gives a Biergarten vibe with plenty of seating and some fire places that provide a nice ambiance. For food, my girlfriend and I split a pizza and some cauliflower wings. The restaurant lets you do half and half pies so we ended up doing half Pesto and Half Eloté. The cauliflower wings were solid - the cauliflower itself was fairly standard but I have to say the Blue Cheese dressing that came with it was reallly good (and that means something - especially with me not normally liking blue cheese) The pizza was also great - serving sizes were large and both types of pizza we got tasted really good. Both my girlfriend and I liked the pesto pizza a little more but all in all this was a solid pie. Lastly, staff were very friendly and food came out very efficiently. My only gripe if anything is that the meal as a whole was a little on the expensive side- but that's to be expected in the bay area these days. I have other pizza places I like more, but this is a solid place I regularly come to. The chicken wings are also pretty good too. Classic buffalo wings done right. The soft serve is good too. The space is what really keeps me coming back. It's just a low key, good vibe. There's a big covered patio. It's cozy, and open. There are nooks and big table. It's warm in the winter. Arthur Mac's is a fun spot to hang out on a nice sunny day and have some beers. Basically right across from MacArthur BART, it is easy to get whether you're in Oakland or coming from SF. Once you've arrived, it's also easy to put in your order, grab your drinks, and then enjoy their relaxed patio area. The beer selection is pretty solid and seems to change regularly. Any menu with the likes of Barebottle, Faction, and the like is a winner in my book. And to top it all, there are a couple vegan options (such as jackfruit taquitos) to keep you well fed.
