Besides this taking 30 minutes to make it was a very underwhelming sandwich. The chipotle chicken sandwich has no flavor, lacked salt, the chipotle sauce tasted like watered down chipotle and maybe heavy cream or something ? Very plain, and the chicken breast tasted like the farmers frozen grilled chicken from the bag that you'd add onto your salad. Usually love this place but this was definitely a 2/10 sandwich. I was immediately greeted upon walking into the shop. Everything looked neat and clean. There was a small counter inside with seating near the window. There were also a could of tables outside on the side walk. My sandwich (pastrami) came out shortly after it was ordered. The sandwich was flavorful and was lean (extra points!) I might try NY Slice Deli again, but with a caveat I'll mention later. Staff was friendly. They have a wide menu of sandwiches (and salads). I chose to get the Italian sandwich which was described well on a board. They include a bunch of meat and some great fresh veggies - topped with a little mayo and an Italian-style dressing. The bread was soft inside and a little crunchy on the outside. It was a bit "messy" due to the dressing, but not overly. (That was a plus, not a minus. I don't mind sandwiches like this with just the right amount of mess.) There was "just enough" dressing on it - not swamped. The meats are Boar Head and are very tasty. The veggies are very fresh. Good combo. The only negative was that whomever put the sandwich together left in several pepperoncini ends and stem that I didn't notice at first. At my second instance of chewing "something", I checked out the sandwich and found the stem (picture shown) and some more ends. I called to let them know and hope the next diners won't experience it. Will I go back? Probably will try them. But I definitely will examine the sandwich before eating it. I don't like those surprises. I don't really like when they occur in the food I eat. read more

Ordered the meaty breakfast burrito and it was a big disappointment. The wrap is not a tortilla and not sure what it's made out of . They use some super thick and salty bacon . Almost choked on my first bite because of the bacon. Once again, super salty and overpowering. Once I took the bacon out it was just very mediocre. My wife got the chicken pesto panini. I would give it a 5 star but I find it too overpriced. The reason I say that is next best place in the area is Cortinas in Orange and their sandwhiches are a few dollars cheaper, use Boarshead meat and bake their own bread. Overall this was a good sandwhich, bread was great, I hate spongy bread where you have to chew and chew. I suggest they have a better fountain drink selection other than your typical coke brands. For a place like this having a better drink vendor would give it that extra class for a sandwich place like this. Great staff super friendly, would come back if in the area. I had the New Yorker and a small drink which was just over $12....so with that it may make me think twice. I have eaten very little meat in the last few years, but I've been on a sandwich kick lately and had a craving for an Italian sub type sandwich. I wanted it to be just a one time thing - but this place has made that very hard!! I love the option of getting a smaller amount of meat - makes me feel a little better about my cheat! I love their rolls - fresh with a light crispy-ish crust. I don't even mind the lettuce, which I normally leave off sandwiches (I know, weird). I was initially disappointed that their veggie sandwich lacks a variety of veggies (ala Subway), but even so - it's actually pretty good on toasted squaw. The macaroni and potato salads were not my favorite - too sweet for my taste. I will be giving up the meat again, but will continue to order the veggie - and maybe add some hummus and cucumbers when I have them.
