I've been to the Garden Grove location multiple times and honestly, the last couple of times I was left deterred from going back as the food quality had started to lack. This new location is truly a breath of fresh air - the food quality is just the same, if not better than I remember it. This location is HUGE, with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Everything is new so everything is clean pretty. The wait staff is on point and definitely catering to you, I can anticipate that this might change as they become busier. I ordered the cafe de olla (a cinnamon infused coffee) to drink and was warned that it was on the sweeter side - I definitely agree that it was. I added some half and Half, which helped but it was still a little sweet for me. My husband got a pineapple and spinach which was super tasty; the spinach balanced out the tartness of the pineapple and was refreshing to the taste. I got my usually, the chilaquiles with grilled chicken and a side of beans. This was DELICIOUS - perfect in every bite. I hate when the tortilla chips get soggy from the sauce and these definitely didn't. The sauce was not spicy in my opinion and paired perfectly with the crispy chips. They had a great amount of sour cream and cheese. The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection. I loved it and was glad to taste these flavors again. My husband got the torta de chicken Milanesa and it was also perfect. The bread size has definitely decreased over the years but the flavor was there. Crispy breaded chicken, with fresh lettuce, tomato, and mayo - yummy. I am so glad they went back to their roots and hope the continue to keep this quality of food and service. I will be back!!!

When we first walked in the staff greeted us right away. We sat where we wanted to sit and felt like we were sitting at a dining room at my grandmas. The place is big and alot of seating. Surrounded by flowered trees. I ordered the cafe de olla and Huevos divorciados. The divorciados came in red sauce and green sauce accompanied by refried beans and homemade corn tortillas!!! The food was amazing. I told the server it felt like I was eating at my grandmas house. It's a hidden gem and we will be returning

I was craving some crunchy chilaquiles, my son found this place and honestly we were beyond pleased with the service, environment and most importantly with the food. We were amazed of how delicious it was. Got some green salsa chilaquiles with rice, beans, eggs and carne asada, also got cafe de hoya and fried plantains for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant. Looking forward to take my boyfriend soon.

Great prices Great food and awesome service- No rush to send you home. Clean and new location. My husband and I stop by for a late lunch and we had more than enough food.

Chilaquiles: no onions and no sour cream

Hubby and I went on a Friday morning and it was empty so we were a little apprehensive. But it became a private morning date reminiscent of our Mexico vacations. All the furniture was hand crafted wood art Service: We were created upon entry and immediately offered beverages. We asked questions about food choices and ultimately decided on their famous chilaquiles. We plan on coming back with the family! Food: We both got carne asada chilaquiles with a side of rice and beans to share. The steak the tender!!! The green chile sauce was perfect, a nice little kick. Cafe de Olla was perfect, no cream needed!

This place was absolutely disgusting. I came in for breakfast and ordered the huevos rancheros, but it looked more like soup. The eggs were swimming in a watery sauce, the rice was completely mushy, and everything was pretty much inedible. I took one bite and couldn't eat any more, I felt sick. The waitress took the plate away after seeing it, but I was still charged full price. I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Wanted to give this place a try. City of Orange native " miss El Mariachi " ... anyways Had the Huevos Divorciados Red sauce is a little extra spicy We also tried the Huevos Tarasco "This was the best choice of the three we tried " And also had the Huevos Motuleños also very good. Plantains were a good touch. The Horchata is the best in town. Also had the Aqua Fresca de Fresa ( strawberry) ... Had the Cafe de la olla... Place is big with lots of seating. Forget our waiters name ... I did ask because I wanted to give him props. Forgot... Sorry Bro , but thanks for the great service. See you again on Saturday. Give this place a try, we did and " SOO GLAD WE DID ". You will too !! See you there !

First time here and we started of with Cafe de olla (delicious coffee ) and are awaiting for the carne asada chilaquiles

    Seating Area

I used to frequent their Garden Grove location but moved to this area recently and SO happy to have an S&J nearby. Trust me when I say EVERYTHING here is good. You can't go wrong with any selection on the menu and this location is just as good as the GG one. Their cafe de olla is to die for. Service is always great. Very spacious. Plenty of tables. No wait!

Service was Great with recommendations. Food was Amazing. And then there's the Zapata Latte Cacahuate coffee..Yum!!

    Huevos Tarasco

Had a great meal! My husband had Huevos Tarasco and loved it. I had the Beef Milanese Torta, and it was exactly what I have been looking for. The service was great. The coffee was good and offer three different types of creamer. We are already making plans to come back.

Overall, everything lacked flavor, although I will say the red salsa served with the chips was delicious. My friend ordered the avocado toast, but it was basically just a slice of bread with sliced avocado--no seasoning, condiments, or anything to make it stand out. The small garden salad was equally underwhelming, consisting of only romaine lettuce and cherry tomatoes with no dressing or even a drizzle of olive oil. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, but they were more like open-faced boiled eggs since the yolks were completely hard instead of runny. The café de olla had a nice flavor, but it was much sweeter than expected. I think it would be better if they served it unsweetened (or lightly sweetened) and let customers adjust the sugar to their own taste. I really wanted to enjoy this place because the ambiance is so charming, but the food just didn't live up to the experience.

We arrived and immediately the staff was so attentive, coming to assist with the lift outside. And they mentioned that if the lift is down for some reason, they also have a ramp to deploy in the back to provide access, which was incredible to hear. The restaurant is charming inside and laid out with plenty of room to navigate and also enjoy your breakfast without feeling like you're on top of anyone else. The service continued to be absolutely stellar, with everyone working in a flow to make the experience flawless. The food was PHENOMENAL, with fluffy pancakes and crispy thick bacon! I'm still dreaming of the pineapple pancakes with tropical syrup... delicious! Their coffee was perfect, too, and I had their awesome cold brew. To top off this experience, the prices cannot be beat. The hours never really worked with our schedule either being from 8:30 am to 2 pm. We started off with the Ube Sweet Cream Cold Brew ($7) and Pandan Cold Brew ($7). My bf absolutely loved the ube cold brew and said it was probably the best he's ever had. He loved it so much that he got another one to-go after we finished our meal so that was a rare occurrence lol. The ube flavor was strong even after everything was mixed together. Smooth, creamy and tasty. My pandan cold brew was also pretty good. Usually I feel like pandan is difficult to get a real robust flavor and you end up tasting more coffee than pandan. I could actually taste the vanilla/nutty notes and coconut flavor. Also very yummy after mixing it all together. Cold brew flavor did end up coming out stronger tho but I somewhat expect that. We ordered the Adobo Rice Omelet ($14.95 - Chicken-adobo garlic rice wrapped in a three egg omelet, topped with adobo gravy, fried garlic & scallions) - This was really tasty and kind of heavy for me. Sooo much rice under the omelette bed lol. I was beyond stuffed and couldn't take another bite at the end and ended up packing like 2 bites in a small box. My bf ordered the Jeepney Breakfast Burrito ($14 - Crispy golden potatoes, melted cheese, chipotle aoli, scrambled eggs. Your choice of meat, served with a side of pork chicharron and Sinigang Salsa verde) - This was soo delicious. The chicharron side was a great crunch and sinigang salsa verde with the burrito made it even better. It was over the top for our bellies already with the heavy breakfast, but I still insisted that we try a regular breakfast item like french toast. Ordered the Ube Fruity Pebble French Toast ($16.95) and it was yummy! I definitely needed more fruity pebbles but that's my preference. Staff was friendly and prompt. The place was packed and I had joined the waitlist online prior to coming. Waited less than 10 min when we actually arrived. I also loved the decorations everywhere with the foliage, light fixtures and even the ceiling fans. The Tagalog vocab on the chalkboard is also fun to read and learn. I like that there's still a modern feel to the place.

That's really just personal preference though. The food has been consistently good every time I've come. Even the dishes I wouldn't normally think to order end up being good. It does get busy pretty quickly after they open, but it's worth the wait. I also really like the atmosphere here. Good music, nice ambiance, and the servers have always been friendly.
