Every place I contacted either told me they couldn't help or wanted me to replace the entire unit. Star Service 88 was the first company willing to actually diagnose the problem instead of giving up. The technician took the time to remove my head unit, completely disassemble it, find the issue, and repair it. He explained everything along the way, was patient, and charged a very fair price for the work. It's rare to find someone willing to do component-level electronics repair these days, and that's exactly what they did. On top of fixing my radio, he also noticed my sound system wasn't tuned properly from a previous installation. He took the extra time to balance my speakers and improve the overall sound quality, fixing a problem that another shop had left behind. They solved a problem that over 15 other businesses wouldn't even attempt, and they did it professionally, honestly, and at a fair price. I finally have my music back, my system sounds better than before, and I found an electronics technician I can genuinely trust. Safe to say, I've found my go-to shop for electronics repairs. Brought it back and all 8 backlights are renewed and itll hopefully get many more years. He helped me get it back up and running too. At first things didnt seem to be working, but after tinkering with it i found the issue and i factory reset the tv and that seemed to do the trick. It seems the tv was very cranky from being worked on and having its guts removed it needed a full reset. I wanted to wait a day or so before writing my review just incase something happened. But im happy to say everythings good! I would definitely reccomend this guy if you need your tv fixed right! His prices are very reasonable too. Well, us, for work related transfers and as cinefile-s (some movies - and they're rare were never released passed the VHS era). I started to look into Electronic Repair stores in the area and there aren't many left. Not surprised, but it's LA, so luckily, there are a few left in business, like FET Electronics. I read the Yelp reviews, it was encouraging and bookmarked it! Fast forward 3 months later, we had another issue with a similar Panasonic model that we own, so we decided to give the place a shot. My husband called over, talked to Mark, the owner and felt reassured after their conversation because he identified the issues just over the phone. We stopped by one day and dropped them and met Mark, who is very nice, knowledgeable, a real professional. Not many like him left behind! Too bad that is a profession that is going away. You don't always feel like throwing out equipment that has an issue and get a new one, not always that easy for your set up. Everyone has their reasons! The place is in Burbank, on Burbank Blvd. (close to the Hollywood Way intersection), we found street parking in front. The store might seem small, but it goes all the way back! It's a geek electronics paradise, lots of audio equipment around. Mark also did work for major musicians like Van Halen among many others - check his photo gallery on the wall! Famed clients! We left the VCR-s, called in about 2 weeks and he fixed them, he was testing them to make sure! After a few days we picked them up, he checked them for us, and he gives you a 3 months warranty which is great. If you're in a rush, this might not work out since Mark is busy, but if you're patient, he will get it fixed in a few weeks. It's not cheap, but he gets high quality parts and it makes sense for the repair to last. If you have an old piece of equipment that needs to be fixed, Mark is the guy. Hurry in before he retires! He is very nice, kind, nice to chat with, reassuring, calm, and very, very knowledgeable, you will trust him on the spot. Closed in the weekend! Great experience, great place, hope it will be around for a while. It helped our situation and the location is great! Nice to get great service at a local small business in the area!

TL;DR: did not use their service, but they are extremely honest…read more Something was wrong with my camera because all my pictures had streaks of light on them. Also, there is a bright spot on my phone on the right side, which affects my wallpaper. I came into this place to have it checked out and see how much it would cost to repair. The tech took one look at the photo and said it's not the screen that's damaged. It's the photo is highlighting a glare in the background. He switched it to night mode, and the glare was gone, so it was clearly the photo I had as a background and not the screen itself. Also, I asked him about the streaks of light on my photos. He took one look at it and said that my lens cover is really dusty. He cleaned it off and we took a photo and all the streaks were gone. I wanna point this out because these are two things that any dishonest repair shop can easily say they will look at it and fix it and charge me $100-$200. Because of their honesty, this was a five minute visit where he did want adjustment and one lens cleaning and didn't even charge me. It's good to know that they are still honest repairman out there. If I do have a problem, I will be sure to come back here

They helped me understand options and worked with me on what I wanted. They did what they said they would do. They were flexible and took the time to finesse the work where it was needed. Good quality work. Permits went fine, and everything passed the first time. My 1930 property has a 2-story duplex and a house. I live in one unit and have renters in the other units. I talked to several companies about the work. So Cal Air was more responsive than other companies. Menooa was very knowledgeable and helpful during the first meeting, offering me options. Their proposal was competitive with other proposals. They helped me understand options and were flexible, and worked with me through the installation of what I wanted. They installed 3 separate systems for me, one system for each unit. Each system had 3 zones. I've had many repairs to my property over the years, and the details matter to me. I wanted to hide the lines as much as practical, preserve the architectural look. My contractor handled the electrical installation and opened and repaired the drywall after the lines were installed. SoCal Air worked well with my contractor. Renovation of older construction is often complicated and takes extra effort. We had to come up with some creative solutions, and SoCal Air did a great job! My units were installed above doors and windows. My contractor modified the living room cove ceilings so the indoor units would fit close to the ceiling. So Cal Air did everything else. Everything fits great and looks great! I appreciated that Manooa gave good recommendations to steer me away from difficulties, but he also listened to me and headed my wishes when it mattered to me. So Cal Air handled the permits for the heat pumps. The installation passed the LA Building and Safety inspections with no issues. The work was finished late summer, early fall of 2025, after the heat, but in time for winter. Heating worked great in winter. We had a chance to use the cooling during a recent heat wave, and it worked great! I bought the heat pumps primarily for cooling, since the apartments had only heating and had never had cooling before. The units work great! The temperature stays very comfortable. Everything is very quiet. I barely know they are on, except when I open the door and am shocked by how hot it is outside. My tenants gave me positive feedback and have been very happy with the heat pumps. My property still looks like 1930, but it doesn't feel like 1930 anymore! I am very happy with their work and the results. I've recommended So Cal Air to several friends.

From the initial consultation through installation, Menooa and his team were professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They also enlarged one of my return air vents to meet the higher airflow needs of the new HVAC system. The work required widening the opening in the ceiling and installing a new return grille. The crew handled it neatly and professionally. When they finished, it looked like new. The new system is working great, airflow is noticeably improved, and the entire project was completed fast and as promised. It's not often that a major home improvement project goes this smoothly. I would recommend So Cal Air to anyone looking for HVAC installation or replacement.
