ARTIPASTA is a really good neighborhood spot for fresh pasta. We tried four different pastas and they were all good but none were amazing. Everything tasted freshly made and everyone at our table enjoyed their dishes. The pasta was cooked nicely al dente and the sauces were fine. Nothing was overly strong or bold. Part of me wanted a little more flavor, but overall it worked. The place itself is very no frills. Think strip mall, bright fluorescent lighting, and counter service. It's small, maybe ten tables, and as we were leaving a line had started to form. The ordering area becomes a choke point because there's nowhere to wait if tables are full and there isn't any outdoor seating. On the plus side, it's BYOB, which makes the experience a lot more fun because you can bring whatever bottle you want to pair with your pretty good pasta. They seem to do a brisk takeout business. Honestly, that might be the best way to go if you want fresh, reliable pasta without worrying about the tight seating situation. Solid food, simple vibe, and a great option if you're in the mood for unfussy Italian.

What a lovely establishment! I walked in and was immediately greeted by the waitstaff, who were beyond friendly. You could tell they genuinely appreciated having you there and wanted to help. Open seating but by the time we left every table was full! Now the food... W.O.W. I don't usually love getting pasta out but I cannot recommend this enough. The pasta was beautifully made and the sauces were perfection. I WILL be returning!! There are so many more pastas I need to try!

This was truly an authentic Italian experience. The food, the poor air conditioning, and the lack of free water made me feel like I was in Italy. (Update: the business owner informed me that they do have complimentary water upon request, so I am adding this in!) We were all impressed by our pasta. The taste was very similar to what I've eaten in Italy. I got the maccheroni with creamy sausage and mushrooms. The pasta was very al dente, which isn't my preference, but it was still very good. My friends all got different types of pasta, and they agreed the pasta was very good, but that the portions were small for the price. My pasta was $18. They are Italian-sized portions but with American prices. Their dessert and appetizers were very expensive, so we didn't get any. When I walked in, the employee pointed me to a table where I could sit and read the menu, but then you have to wait in line at the counter to order. I'm not sure how you would reserve the table once you get up to order unless you have a friend waiting there for you while you order for both, which we ended up doing to save the table.

First time visiting and I have to say it was worth the trip! The staff are friendly and you can tell the food is authentic. The mushroom tagliatelle was creamy and pasta was cooked to perfect al dente. The size of the plate is misleading because it looks small but I felt super full after cleaning my plate. They also play some fun upbeat Italian music which is fun. The perfect amount of food. I got some bread with my meal and it was chewy and crisp and scored into 4 pieces if you want to easily share with the table. My only negative is the desserts aren't made in house. They do however look very delicious. All in all I recommend anyone who's looking for an authentic meal come try this place out!

In a strip mall, decent parking. Pasta came out Al dente and relatively quickly. Cannoli's took a significant amount of time even after ordering and finishing the meal. But my friend said they were good with a lot of chocolate and other toppings. Pasta was around $18 if I remember correctly, but overall small casual eatery vibes. Would come again!

Artipasta is probably one of the best Italian restaurant in Austin. They offer a variety of pasta and I have tried quite a handful of them in the past. Both pastas were really creamy & cheesy and full of flavour! We absolutely love the limoncello, it's not really sweet - soft and spongy. Service is quick but depending on the day you visit. The ambiance gives a minimalist/casual Italian restaurant vibe. Highly recommend it!

Reminds me of the food we had in Northern Italy. The inside is super bright with enough seating for about 22 people. We had the lasagna, the macaroni with creamy sausage and mushrooms and the tagliatelle. Our favorite was the lasagna. It's the best lasagna we've had in the US. Very creamy and fresh. The macaroni with creamy sausage and mushrooms was also very good. You could taste all of the ingredients. We took the beef tagliatelle home for another meal so we could save room for dessert. For dessert, we had the chocolate hazelnut cake which tasted like a Ferrero Roche.

I think I may have found my go-to dish, the tagliatelle with ham and peas! This time the pasta was cooked well, not too al dente like last time. I think they took away the breadsticks, they didn't have them this time. The restaurant also brands itself as "fast casual", for anyone who is wondering the type of restaurant this is.

Not for me. Definitely for some people but not for me. The pasta was very al dente and I do personally do not prefer my pasta like that. Flavor was ok, not super flavorful. Everyone was really nice. Not many tables inside.

Since they opened a brick and mortar spot North of Downtown Austin, Ive been meaning to come and finally made it. The seating area is fairly small, but quaint. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We ordered several pasta dishes with the lasagne being my favorite. The portion is huge. Easily can be shared by two. I would also highly recommend the Tiramisu. Love that we have a spot making homemade pasta close by. We will definitely be back.

Well designed menu with lots of variety, and a dessert case worthy of a food stylist. Friendly service, lovely ambiance. The pasta is served truly al dente, and Artipasta offers several choices of San Pellegrino. The ability to BYO wine with no uncorking fee is another plus. I infer that Artipasta began as a food truck (pasta from a food truck?). They were already getting busy by 6 PM on a Wednesday evening. These folks have not gotten out over their skis: I expect that they will continue to grow and thrive. I look forward to the day when a simple fresh green salad will be available alongside my tagliatelle. How long has Austin waited for excellent Italian pasta? I think our wait is finally over.

Yeah that's some pretty solid pasta. I enjoyed the texture of the pasta the most. This place was really hyped up to me, but it honestly fell short of my expectations. Both dishes that I tried tasted a bit one dimensional, leaving me tired of them quite quickly. The guy taking my order was really friendly and helped explain the menu. I did appreciate the casual environment since there's a multitude of boujee Italian places already. At the end of the day, it's a fast and easy meal focused on the food. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other options.

Artipasta has the best, and most authentic Italian pasta in all of Texas! I loved them when they were just a small food truck in South Austin but now they have this awesome brick-and-mortar closer to my home. The restaurant is a great spot for the summer time because it's indoors with a fantastic air conditioning system. Also, don't forget you can bring your own bottle, if you're one who enjoys wine with your pasta. read more

Tried this place after 3 friends mentioned enjoying the food here. It was good! Got the carbonara and shrimp & lemon pastas. We had this order togo and I would recommend doing so if you're close by. The atmosphere is not romantic, but that doesn't mean their food is not good! Will be going back. Also the counter service was nice! read more

Place is extremely small, so get there early if you want to dine in! The way it is set up is an order first then get seated, then you will get served some packaged breadsticks while waiting. The wait wasn't very long, even though the place was packed. The pasta was extremely delicious! And the meat portions were very generous. Definitely will be back for the pasta. The tiramisu was just alright, not my favorite place! But the pasta is a must! read more

pretty decent pasta but wouldn't say the best out there. the flavors were just minimum, nothing exceptionally good to make me want to come back. small portions as i wasn't full after finishing my dish. on the more expensive side for not matching flavors. very friendly service with casual ambiance. read more

We've been to the artipasta food truck before and loved it so when we found out there's a brick and mortar we had to try it when we returned to town. We were delighted to find that the owner was there and he was super sweet and helpful in recommending new dishes. We had the lasagna, gnochi, and clam spaghetti pasta and all 3 were delicious with the lasagna being most heavy. The entree sizes were big for a fair price. Definitely recommend trying this place out if you like authentic italian pasta. The interior of the place was also cute and had a very homey ambiance and wasn't loud which I appreciated. read more

We were in the mood for Italian food and this place did not disappoint. It's small but very intimate. The owner greets you at the door and goes through the menu. The pastas are handmade, and the sauces are excellent. We did not have room for dessert, which was unfortunate because they really looked good. We are from out of town and wish we had this place where we live. Both my husband and I decided on a tagliatelle pasta. Mine was with mushrooms and his was with him and peas. This place is fantastic! Their pasta is done so well my wife and I want to keep coming back so we can try all of the types they have it's that good. Perfectly done pasta and not too salty / heavy and they had desserts that were off the menu. We had the pistachio ricotta cake and it was sooooo good! We were excited to try this place. The good--clean with a friendly staff. We were super hungry but only able to eat about half of what we ordered before it just felt overwhelmingly rich and one note. When we left we decided we need to go somewhere and get a dessert and a coffee to kind of clear our palates. Went on Saturday at 12. Looking at the seating, it's probably not great to bring a big group unless you make a reservation in advance. But Maulo was awesome in explaining things to us and keeping us laughing! Food was served quickly and it was tasty. I had the tagliatelle with ham and peas and it was heavy, I could only eat half. Incredible pasta. I got the tagliatelle with meat sauce + my bf got the carbonara w spaghetti. Both were incredible. I wanted a meaty pasta, so my pasta was perfect for me. My boyfriend's carbonara was rich and cheesy. Perfect for him. Their pasta noodle is incredible and perfectly Al dente. Nowhere else does noodles like Artipasta, especially at this price point. read more

I have always wanted to try Artipasta but living up north made it difficult. I'm so happy with this new location!! The staff was amazing, the location super convenient (in the Linc) and of course the pasta was amazing!!! I went with a veggie option this time but will try some of the meat sauces sometime soon. The caprese appetizer and the cannoli dessert were fresh and delicious. Can't wait for my next pasta night. read more

Would love to find a replica of this place back east. This place is all about authentic northern Italian cuisine. It is no frills. You order at register then pay and yes add your tip before the meal is served. They are that confident you will love the food. Their pasta is made fresh and such a lovely al dente pasta mixed with all natural fresh herbs and spices. The owner is really cool and a wealth of information about northern Italy. The portions are large enough to share if you'd like. We were so full we skipped dessert but the tiramisu looked amazing! read more

I've been wanting to try this spot for a while now since I've heard great things about their pasta dishes. We ordered delivery and got their tagliatelle with house meat sauce and the maccheroni with creamy sausage and mushroom. The pasta for each dish was perfect. A nice chewy bite and definitely freshly made. However, I wasn't a big fan of the house meat sauce. It was very rich, so next time, I'll try a tomato based sauce. read more

First, we waited over 40 minutes for our food. But, I understand that because it was Valentine's Day and they had no empty tables. But, we ordered Togo because of that and still waited so long and the staff was a little rude when we checked on our order. We were very polite and asked "sorry, just checking, do you know how far along my order is?" And the lady laughed in our face and said I told you it would be a while and rolled her eyes. Then, we finally got our food and I got the spaghetti carbonara and it was genuinely not good at all. Like the noodles were all stuck together, the Parmesan cheese was overwhelming and so chunky, and it was so oily. The other pasta we got, mushroom tagliatelle, was better but still oily. Overall, average/below average place but definitely not worth the wait. read more

I have no idea how this place has a 4.5 on yelp. This place was incredibly disappointing. The pasta tastes like it comes out of a cardboard box. We got the carbonara and the tagliatelle. The carbonara was an inedible mound of glue. I am currently writing this with a stomach ache and strongly encouraging you to NOT eat here. You can definitely make better pasta at home. read more

Wow! I can't remember the last time I had good authentic pasta in Austin Texas. This place is a hidden gem. Portions are great, flavor was perfect and nothing beats handmade pasta. The gnocchi was my favorite, it was the perfect amount of spice and a big portion. This will be my go-to place if I'm ever feeling comforting Italian food!!! read more

EAT HERE! My husband and I are so happy they opened a brick-and-mortar location up north! We ordered the Tagliatelle with meat sauce, Caserecce with broccoli and sausage, and we split an order of the ravioli (with ricotta and balsamic drizzle). It was honestly all amazing, and I wouldn't change a single thing. The staff were welcoming, the food is amazing. I highly recommend. read more

I was not a fan of the gnocchi but it could be personal preference. The tomato sauce was good though! My favorite was the maccheroni with creamy sausage and mushroom! The spaghetti with clams was good but probably will not order again, overall you can taste the handmade pasta and quality of the ingredients and the food was made with care. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for some pasta. read more

Delicious authentic pasta! Easy fast casual (order at counter) but with very friendly staff and reasonable prices. They don't serve alcohol but it looked like other guests brought in wine, which is nice that they seem to allow that. The sausage and mushroom pasta and carbonara were both delicious, but we liked the sausage and mushroom best. The tiramisu was delicious as well! Really glad we stumbled upon this spot! read more

We stopped in to eat one evening. It's a very small restaurant and we drove by it initially. They do a bustling to-go business and the dining area is very basic. But the pasta is perfect and the sauces are fantastic. If you're looking for great pasta, this is your place. If you're looking to be dazzled by trendy decor, this isn't it. read more

We just stopped by the brick and mortar location and while it's still getting up and running, it did not disappoint. We got the house meat sauce, pesto casarecce, and cannolis. The house meat sauce is delicious and tastes so familiar. It definitely feels like a comfort meal. The Casarecce was good, strong pesto flavor brightened up by just enough lemon. For me though the cannolis were the star. It's so hard to find a decent cannoli anywhere and these were so fresh. Finally, the service was wonderful. Everybody in there cared and wanted to make sure you got the best experience possible. I'd love for more people to experience this place! read more

Unpopular opinion here ‍. I have been dying to try Arti Pasta because of the positive reviews. Who doesn't love delicious fresh pasta! I ordered the Tagliatelle with meat sauce from the North Austin location. I walked into the well-appointed space, quite a few diners happily tucking into meals. Ok, full'ish restaurant is always a good sign! My order was ready and waiting for me. Service was fast and friendly, I couldn't wait to get myself home and dig in! I believe my pick-up order was close to $28.00 for the entrée and an order of Panna Cota. Tiramisu wasn't on the menu. I suppose it was for the best bread, oill and balsamic weren't included with the meal. However, when I'm treating myself to pasta, I want to go all the way down the carby rabbit hole. I took a bit of my pasta and immediately noticed that there wasn't a hint of salt. None,zilch, nada. Next, I realized the meat sauce was cream based. I read the menu to confirm I had ordered the correct dish. I'm not a fan of heavy cream based sauces. I also usually only eat part of my meal and eat the rest as leftovers. Cream based sauces, as I'm sure everyone knows, are notoriously hard to reheat without ending up with a greasy flavorless mess. Nope, I ordered pasta with a meat sauce, and cream wasn't mentioned. I personally don't feel great after eating a rich, heavy sauce, which is another reason I prefer a red sauce. I ate about 1/4 of my pasta and put the rest in the fridge. I'm not a fan of wasting food, especially if it was pricey. So the next day, I added salt, Rao's marinara, sun-dried tomatoes, and some Italian seasoning. Rewarmed over a pan with some hot water in a make shift double boiler. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure I won't be returning to Arti. Do NOT come here if you're a POC. The Italian owner is a bigot and will discriminate against any immigrant families dining in. I overheard heard him from the kitchen saying "they're the worst kind of people," when referring to a family that had walked in. I even witnessed him loudly shouting at his staff, every word clearly audible, as if they were some group of children. The food was fine but ridiculously salty. There are no fresh desserts, and the food should require some warning for high sodium. Overhearing the shouting at staff made me genuinely sick to my stomach and gave me a full loss of appetite. Never in my life have I seen a more unprofessional owner, treating both customers and staff so disturbingly. If I could, I would give 5 stars to the hard working line cooks for what they endure. Artipasta? No. Fartipasta. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone living in Austin/touring. read more

After being seated all the way at the very corner of the restaurant near the entrance, we didn't receive water for 15 minutes. In fact, we had to ask for water, as well as silverware, from a person who was cleaning a table- not a waiter. We didn't order until about 30 minutes after being seated. We noticed that others around us who were dressed nicer for the occasion were receiving service but we were not (jeans and a nice top as opposed to a dressy outfit). This is less of an accusation and more of an observation. It took another waiter noticing that we had not been served to come over and take our order, and that was 5 minutes after we had to flag down a busser to ask for water. The flip side of that whole first part is that the food was pretty good. We got complimentary table bread (after we asked for it since it never came before our main meal) that was soft and went well with the olive oil it came with. For our entrees we got the shrimp scampi and chicken parm. The shrimp scampi was fantastic and light with creamy and bold flavors in-between. The chicken parm was maybe the largest chicken cutlet we've seen given out at a restaurant. Not only was the cutlet massive but it was delicious as well with a nice, light breading and cheese on top. The spaghetti alongside it was a nice touch but this was a true chicken parm entree as it should be. We were offered a complimentary dessert as an apology for the miscues before we ate but turned it down (still good of them to offer). Leaving was easy as the valet was very attentive and quick to get our car. We wish we could say our time at Juliet's was perfect because the setting and food are very nice and a fun change of pace from the surrounding blocks. However, it's difficult to overlook the mistakes made from the jump. We noticed that another table next to us was also experiencing bad service and looked unhappy enough to leave in the middle of their meal/ We're always open to having good food again so hopefully the next time we're here things are different. Just an unfortunate bittersweet taste to what otherwise would have been a fantastic meal.

As an ATX native it's painful to see more and more original restaurants close their doors to only be replaced by cheap copies or a store that sells novelty Tyler's T-Shirts. It's just sad. I can't help but also recognize the dedication of patrons, specifically locals, who have kept this incredible restaurant alive for almost three decades; some have even supported you every Friday for years. I witnessed tearful goodbyes to staff favorites and the mood was melancholy. Far from the normal vigor Vespaio has shown in the past but more unique, genuine, and intentional as we all said our goodbyes. To the staff- thank you. The service has always been exceptional and the food legendary. To the cooks, the hostesses, the servers and the table bussers- you made dining here memorable and impactful to the culture and community of Austin. You will all be missed. To the owners, whatever motivates you to sell, I truly hope it isn't profit. The cost of operating in Austin is ridiculous and I fear we are losing every bit of what we used to call home. I recently dined at Artipasta and tried their tagliatelle with shrimp and lemon sauce. The pasta was cooked well--perfectly al dente--and the sauce had a pleasant brightness from the lemon. However, it lacked a bit of seasoning. Adding a pinch of salt made all the difference, elevating the flavors and tying the dish together. A solid offering, but a little extra attention to seasoning would take it up a notch. 3 stars without salt. read more

Hands down the best Italian pasta I've had in all of Texas! Trust me, I'be had a lot! The owner is Italian and you can see the difference!
