The location is amazing and the ambiance is really great. However, when I go out to dinner I expect my food to be amazing and great. I had the Thai cauliflower and beet salad. Both were really good. I guess for the price of the beet salad I would have expected more though. My husband had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were good the chicken, not so much. It was flavorless and spongy. I am still sitting outside of the restaurant. We just finished our dinner. Our waitress doesn't show up much. But right now I am fuming. So the waitress just came up to me, my husband is in the bathroom, puts her hand on her hip and says, do u think he would like to have his wine to go. Keep in mind I have some drink left also. Never asked if we wanted another drink and handed me the bill. She did ask if we wanted dessert .Hmmmm. I think I'm going to get another drink and.....not leave a good tip. I find her to be very rude. Am I wrong? And, is it legal to get a glass of wine to go.???? And, I was told happy hour only pertains to u if u drink at the bar but the waitress taking care of the people near us told them $2.00 off craft cocktails. I'm very upset right now. Came in town for 2 days for business and to visit great friends. Fell in love with this incredible restaurant so had dinner 2 nights in a row. After my sister found her wedding dress, we stumbled upon this gem on Pewaukee Lake. We celebrated with some Prosecco and appetizers. The dumplings and popcorn were really good. We ended up getting a second order of the dumplings because they were that delicious! The place is beautiful inside and service was excellent. I will definitely be back! read more

Now I will never and I will make sure to tell everyone to avoid this place. Good businesses don't insult their customers. It is best to sometimes say nothing at all and correct the issues. All I can say is wow. From start to finish the service, drinks and food were top notch. Within 2 minute of sitting down we had waters and our drink order was taken. We all got craft cocktails and they were all spectacular. From then we did order the burrata and focaccia also the lobster bisque soup. I can't even pick my favorite they were both delicious. For meals we had the burger, fish and carbonara and parapadelle. I think everything was fantastic. You can tell the pasta was hand made and put a lot of time into it. My wife and I are both Chefs at hotels in the area, and had a wonderful evening here, with family. We sampled most of the appetizers, and loved the variation, taste, and plate presentation on everything. The cauliflower Tempura, Crab dip with Pita, the alligator etouffee, the pan seared scallops. I had the Duck, shared the pork belly with my wife, and tried some of the salmon as well. I do really enjoy the "farm to table" approach, and the atmosphere, along with the lake view makes for a fantastic dining experience. I would highly recommend stopping here. read more

Great views of Pewaukee Lake and outdoor dining. They may want to consider spraying the outdoor area prior to sunset (prior to dining timeframe) to help with outdoor bugs. The burgers are the best, the Gnocchi is made in house and is so very good, however please lighten up on salt. It totally takes away from this amazing dish. Tempura Cauliflower is delicious. One of THE best and most creative farm to table restaurants we've been to! Overlooking Pewaukee Lake, we had the perfect lakeside dining experience. Ted, the owner, personally welcomed us like family! We began our evening with craft cocktails that were cleverly named by Ted himself! Too many to choose from! Our server was on top of everything! From starters to finish! The Shrimp and Grits and Chicken and Waffles (with chives and Alsym corn!) were amazing! We finished our meal with Rumchata Bread Pudding with Sassy Cow Salted vanilla ice cream and the Chef's cookies with a Bourbon Milkshake. OMG...still recovering from a well deserved food hangover! I was not impressed with the food or the service. My meal which cost $28 came with the smallest piece of lobster & just a bunch of noodles, not a lot of flavor. The service was terrible she forgot about our appetizer & the manager talked to every table, but ours. The only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars is because my husband really liked his salmon. We have had the pleasure of dining here several times over the past 3 months and every time our expectations were not only met they were far exceeded! Ted (owner) personally oversees the front of house experience, checking in with guests and making sure everyone is relaxing and enjoying their time. We have had multiple servers during our visits, all extremely attentive and genuinely nice people! The food is fantastic--don't miss the fresh chips n dip, chicken and waffles, scallop appetizer, Not your fathers root beer, anything seafood on menu, and the wine list is to die for!! Absolute best dessert I've had out was the deconstructed peanut butter cup which was warm peanut butter cookies served with a delicious boozy chocolate bourbon milkshake. We celebrated my mothers 70th birthday here and the staff was terrific, the bar manager actually went to the nearby cake shop to pick up the cake we had ordered but couldn't pick up before the shop closed. He brought it back to Artisan and they brought it out with candles and sang to her after our meal. And the chef brings his southern flair and innovation into some amazing dishes like gumbo, pho, ramen, and truly creates signature dishes that make every meal here memorable. This restaurant is a wonderful addition to the restaurants in the Lake Country area and would hold its own when compared to downtown Milwaukee or even Chicago foodie hangouts.
