We were so happy to visit this hidden gem for breakfast today! The chai is fragrant, pastries were delicious, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The space is small, but this makes sense as most patrons take their goods to go! There was a long line, which is a testament to how loved this place is. The prices were shockingly low! Shop was open ten min early and they were still putting out trays. Nice gentleman behind the counter chatted with me while he put out the rest of the trays and was super friendly. We had a ham and cheese croissant, a chocolate croissant, a marionberry scone, and a bear claw. Each one was amazing! Also got a drip coffee. Seems like a nice local place. Since I moved to the area, I've been sampling bakeries, one at a time, almost despairing, until my search took me to Artisan. I had either arrived in heaven or I had found my heavenly treats here on earth. Bought several different pastries, including a filled beignet (move over New Orleans), a blueberry- cheese danish and a blueberry scone. Each was divine-do you sense the theme here? Anyone not scoring this a "5" should not be listened to. The croissant sandwiches are amazing. Fresh croissants with superb fillings. The bakery items are fattening, just the way they should be. The brownie was memorable. Large, just the way I like them, gooey and chocolaty chocolate. It took me two sittings to eat it. Seating is very limited, so take out is best. Go early as they sell out (makeing everything fresh the next day.) They are a bit more spendy than fast food, but then they taste nothing like fast food!!! This small very friendly cafe that has the Bear Claw and Almond Croissant. Unfortunately, they were out of both when I visited. So, I ended up getting an espresso drink. I have high expectation on coffees. They place did a good good. My raspberry late with only two pumps of syrup and soy almond milk was really good. The Berry Berry pastry is addicting. WOW! We had seen a special show about So. Oregon on PBS that mentioned this bakery. And it lived up to the high praise from the show and beat our expectations. The people working there are extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. The food is amazing. Had lunch there - soup, salad and sandwich followed by gluten free chocolate coconut macaroon. Everything was delicious. Plus, we purchased several others bakery items and what a treat, everything they make there is worth trying!!! read more

The cutest cafe ever! Delicious coffee, and so many choices of pastry. BUT, we saw a lot of gnats in the glass where they have the pastry. When I brought it to his attention,, he was very nonchalant about it and was going to have an exterminator the next day. Great coffee and fairly priced baked goods. A gigantic cookie was $2.25. How can helpers claim that as expensive. Someone had to actually make that cookie! It's not chips-ahoy folks. Very nice staff and clean layout. I'll definitely come back when I have business in Medford. read more

I ordered their Mealy Marissa (Turkey, Provolone and Cranberry) on a whole grain roll. The bread was crumbling it was so dry, so I ate the turkey and cheese only out of the middle of it. I ordered their broccoli and cheese soup. This came to me as a solid mass of hot goo with the thickness of overdone oatmeal. (they order their soup from elsewhere, the person who took my order said). Finally, I ordered two Ding Dong cupcakes and two chocolate-covered Beignets. The Cupcakes: The 'frosting' on top sported a hard crust it and was flavorless. The cupcakes? I have never had such a dry, flavorless cupcake in my life. After that first bite, out they went. The Beignets: Again, very dry, no flavor and it followed the rest of this disaster into the trash. I hate waste, but it really was inedible. To have paid $24 for all of this was a total regret. Never again. read more

I stopped in a couple weeks ago to order a sandwich they had advertised on their website. I walked in and there was one other customer inside, and no one at the counter. A minute or 2 later an employee came back to the counter and continued to assist the other customer. I waited awkwardly, the employee never once looked at me or acknowledge me or to give me an "I'll be with you in just a minute". I waited a little longer, probably spent a total of 4-5 minutes in the store before walking out and leaving. Unfortunately I don't plan on returning. read more

It was cro-nut Friday while I was visiting Medford, so I thought I would give their version a try. I also got some donuts for other members of the family. Nice little shop with a small seating area if you want to stay have your pastries with something to drink. I was taking out for the household. Easy parking and easy to find if you know the area. Being a visitor, I hunted around the intersection a bit. Since I have never had any other bakery's cro-nuts I can't compare but these pastries were tasty. They are croissant shaped now, though when they started making them they were round like a donut, but apparently the regular local customers preferred this. They are crispy, and the custard filling was tasty, though one had a lot and the other had very little. They probably need to work a little on the process. The other donuts were fresh and tasty, but rather basic, which is OK too. I would shop here again when I visit Medford. read more

4 times, two weeks in a row. First trip, my son (11 and very capable of opening a deadbolt) gets locked in their restroom where they had to call the Medford Fire Department to break off the lock. In the meantime of waiting for his escape, we dug into the soup (intended as a to-go) we ordered only to see it was the wrong soup. They had given my vegetarian daughter and I a chicken soup. Issue was quickly fixed due to fate of us being stuck there from their faulty restroom and one child walking around in circles for 30 minutes inside a single stall. 2. Went back that same day for actual treats after the soccer game. Pastries are delicious. Kids loved their custard filled beignets and chocolate filled croissants. 3. Returned yesterday for a chai and breakfast. Chai was pumpkin chai almond milk half sweet. The pumpkin syrup is not good. Very strange flavor and the sweetness was very sweet for half sweet. Their breakfast special was a toasted croissant with ham, egg, tomato, cheese. I asked for a vegetarian option and they said they could replace the ham for hummus. Brilliant!! I get my food and tea and head to my son's baseball game. As I begin eating, I see that there was no egg. They gave me a sandwich with just hummus, tomato, and cheese. 4. Went back after the baseball game asking for my order to be fixed. They gave me a condiment cup of scrambled eggs to put on top of the now very cold and old sandwich. Luckily my son was starving and ate it all anyway. As someone who also works in the food industry, I find this abundance of errors to be odd. Nobody is listening when they're taking your order apparently. The employees are competent at taking baked goods out of the case and putting them in a pretty box, but as far as ever ordering food from here again, that's a solid no. If you can't remember, write it down, but attention to detail needs to be reinforced, especially for to-go orders. read more

My husband loves the crossaints and soups, but I don't eat crossaints or flaky crust, so my review is off other things... like the jalapeno bagel breakfast sandwich, subpar at best. No actual flavor. Meditterean sandwich, waste of money. Pumpkin America no, terrible. Cheese danish, lacking filling. Peanut butter and also chocolate chip cookies just okay. I can get better literally anywhere else. Customer service is just okay. The workers are pleasant enough taking cash, but after that it drops downhill. No smiles when delivering food, no you're welcome, just a blank stare and then walk away. I've tried liking this place, but Bergs Bakery, Buttercloud, Donut Country or Central Perk are all far above this place. read more

Terrible terrible service, I ordered a salad and the cheese tasted like mold.. gross gross gross. I witnessed an employee drop a whole tray of cinnamon rolls on the floor and the baker in the back made her put them up on display to sell or she would have to buy them because he wasn't making any more. My roommate Miranda had worked there previously and told me the blonde manager had once had her pick the moldy pieces out of the bag of cheese they didn't waste product. Gross gross gross!!!
