I could not ask for a better coffee shop to live right down the road from. The coffee is as delightful as the atmosphere, and as my partner has celiac disease, it's amazing that I can walk in at any time and find a gluten free, homemade pastry. If the fact that they had to move additional parking for their shop over to the lot next door doesn't say how wonderful and popular the place is, nothing will. I love this place so much! The food is delicious and it's a great place to do some work or meet friends. They've also handled all of the changes with COVID really well! The tables are properly distanced and as of when this post is written you have to wear a mask when you order. I'm happy to see a cafe that's open and following the governors rules. I was ready to rip this place to shreds. After recently being disappointed by a new café that just opened in my neighborhood, I didn't think this spot was going to be any better. Based on the stars, you can see I was completely wrong. Artisan has a clean, cute atmosphere with sweet staff. Artisan isn't trying too hard to be cool, it just is. I had an iced sugar broth latte like I always do in the summer, and my dining companion had a cappuccino (served in some wheel spun pottery mug and it's adorable). Both were great, especially for NE Ohio. We also had a salad and quinoa bowl. The food was actually arranged in an aesthetically pleasing way. Kill me. Anyway food was mad good and my quinoa bowl was served with a lemon wedge and I could cry it was all so nice. Thank you Artisan, for being a solid representative of what a good coffee shop looks like. I'm sorry you have to stare at that ugly Marathon gas station across the street. read more

Wooo, look at me. I'm writing a review on artisan coffee. How vague is that? Can I write a review on pizza too? Actually I'm writing a review on Artisan Coffee, not artisan coffee. There's a big difference there. artisan coffee is coffee that is grown, harvested, processed, roasted and brewed by hand and with intense care and attention taken toward extracting all possible qualities from the beans. Artisan Coffee is a coffee shop that roasts and brews artisan coffee. They have a small Diedrich roaster sitting on the concrete countertop where all the roasting happens. Before that, I was informed, the owner and founder of Artisan roasted outside, in negative temperatures, on something like a popcorn popper. Now if Artisan was in a Large city, I would deem it three-star-worthy. If it was in the middle of nowhere, five stars would be its reward. But given the situation, I'll round up to four. It's a pleasant place with a nice mix of design and decent coffee, but there's room for improvements in about all areas. Espresso drinks are not consistently top notch and they seriously need a revamp of their pour-over setup. Here's how that happens: inconspicuously, Twenty-Four ounces of coffee is brewed via Chemex in a quiet corner of the bar area, and after some time, you are handed two steaming cups of coffee. This can be a somewhat Awkward Experience. That meant my friend and I had Forty-Eight ounces of mostly unslurped-upon brew riding around in the car. Odd. At least it's a better dollar per quantity ratio and it even tasted fairly nice, but there's none of the quick, single-cup pour-over way that I've grown so fond of. Still, it's the best coffee to be had in Akron. (Although I think they better watch out for the soon to be in existence Akron Coffee Roasters cafe.) read more

Clean and bright, they have their own hand painted pottery mugs. A very cool, not at all pretentious vibe. The roast their own beans, and everything is available for pour over (Chemex). Took a little longer than is usual so the coffee was not hot. I didn't dig the Ethiopian light roast I had (bit of an unpleasant burnt aftertaste) that's just me though I'm sure, that's not to take away from the coffee shop - great place, worth a visit. read more

We dropped in for the first time today and liked Artisan Coffee a lot. It's the kind of homey local coffee shop that is designed for sitting around and relaxing, with lots of tables, a fireplace, a kids area, a meeting room, and games. It is the biggest local coffee place I've been to, so there is lots of room to find a place to sit. The coffee is good, and they roast their own beans. The service is very friendly and helpful. Friends brought me to this coffee house and it is very fun. A ton of seating and very open spaces. I ordered an iced white chocolate raspberry mocha (upon recommendation) and it was phenomenal. Not too sweet. I heard they make their own syrups, which is awesome. I also had a veggie and hummus wrap which was very good. I will definitely visit again. Stopped in tonight to pick up a salad and what a nice surprise! First, I ordered a cobb salad and it was amazing! So fresh, large and flavorful! Then, while waiting in line to pick it up, there were spectacular fresh baked treats aligning the counter. We chose the Raspberry Lime Scones. Holy cow, amazing! I also ordered a Turtle Mocha coffee, and it was crazy good! Oh, did I mention that there was a three piece jazz band playing in the corner the whole time! What a neighborhood gem!
