Visited this place tonight... Worst nail place I've been to. I wanted a fill. Lady was obviously inexperienced. She was rough with my nails/cuticles. Cut me two times. Put some sort of chemical on my cuticles after she sanded them down raw and that shit burned like hell. After telling her it burned she ignored me. My nails look messy like a young child did them. Didn't even put cuticle oil on them after she was done. The whole staff was talking in a different language which didn't bug me but they were clearly laughing and talking about me. I don't recommend this place. Will never come back again. read more

I was really impressed with my experience at Artistic Nails and Spa. I made a same day appointment, and they were ready for me right on time. They have an easy check in process. I got the Deluxe pedicure and my technician did a fabulous job throughout. The shop is clean and the massage chairs were comfortable. I was a little concerned because the side of my big toe had been hurting for a while (like an ingrown toenail, but not right on the edge and I couldn't fix it), so I've been forgoing a pedicure; but it is sandal season and my snaggly, self-painted toes just couldn't be allowed out to the viewing public. Not only did my technican not cause any extra pain on my toe during the pedi, whatever she did actually relieved the pain! I now have cute AND pain-free toes. I visited artistic nails on 5/27 with my aunt and cousin. Both my aunt and mother go to this salon very often, and have said great things about it. However, I had the worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon. My aunt, cousin, and I all had appointments at 1pm for pedicures and full sets. We started right at 1pm with the pedicures. The woman doing my pedicure laughed with the girl next to her and said to me "you have big toes" first red flag. When we started with the nails, I told her that I wanted dip powder and that I wanted to add length to my nails. She told me that she couldn't do a dip French tip with dip, so she used dip for the pink base color and then used gel polishes on top. She used square tips on my nails and used a nail cutter to shape the sides of the nails to a coffin shape. This resulted in every single one of my nails being a completely different shape and very crooked. Some of my nails are very wide where she added the tips. You can also see where she over drilled the pink and can see my nail unnderneath. She also told me that she had to cut my nails to add the tips and she cut all of my nails off. When she was done with my purple French tip, almost all of my nails had purple all over the sides of my nails, and the base color was way too pink. It looked like nails that you would do at an adolescent slumber party, not nails that you would pay a professional for. As I said, we started at 1pm, and I did not get out of the chair until 3:50pm. With how long this took, I expected soooo much more. After I was done, we waited until 4:45pm for my cousin's nails to be done. We brought the issues with my nails to another tech's attention. We told them about the color bleeding on the sides and the odd shapes of the nails. They did not listen to what we said about the shapes. They had another tech file the bleeding polish away. She asked if they were better and I told her that the color was better, but they are still shaped poorly. She did not even respond to that. I will absolutely never come back, and I'll stick to sparkle nails in happy valley, or any other nail salon that can do a somewhat decent job. read more

I was happy they were able to get my friend and I in last minute (hence the 2 stars) on Mother's Day however this is one of those places that likes to upcharge you at the end of the service. I asked for a full set of acrylics, mani and pedi. The lady who did my service wasn't the friendliest and she started in on my full set first, I reminded her I wanted a mani aka my real nails cut down, cuticles treated and a massage, she didn't really listen to me and continued with the acrylics so I just assumed she would do the cuticles and massage after (nope!). I got a couple nails with design which I knew would be an extra charge. Next was the pedicure which I at first told her I wanted regular polish but she talked me into getting shellac and told me she could do this very basic glitter paint design on the big toes so I agreed. The pedicure was super basic, massage was awful and she never actually asked what kind of pedicure I wanted (I would've opted for the most expensive stone pedicure but at that point I was annoyed with her unfriendly service). Now it came time to pay and I was charged $40 for 'solar full set' when acrylics are listed as $35. I told the guy I was not told I was being offered a more expensive set and he said something about the solar being the only set they offer now - so maybe remove 'Acrylics $35' off your menu??? Then I was charged the same price for design on my toes as I was on my hands and really all she did was put a little glitter on the big toes only - nothing close to what was done on my hands. Pictures below for reference. So when places want to surprise their clients with surprise fees and gouge them that comes off your tip, sorry not sorry. Stick to the prices on the menu in your business and don't overcharge for things that took no more than 30 seconds to do. $11 for "design" on my big toes is just ridiculous. So my nails are okay, but my tech did not push my cuticles back at all so everything will be grown out by the end of the weekend. But my sisters nails... she had grown out short nails and ended up with manicure that resembles more of a pedicure. I look over mid appointment and my sister is crying at the pain of her fingers being botched. I think the biggest issue was the language barrier but they were also reusing supplies (nail clippers, buffers, drills,) but they also had my least favorite nail salon stereotype, a man sitting around doing nothing while all the women worked. I will not go back and I will tell others not to try. It seems there's not a good nail salon in this city. read more

Nope she informed me at the end if I wanted that it's an extra $5. Also, nails are bumpy in places. Pedicure looks worse than it I did it myself. Two of my neighbors recommended Artistic Nails. Tram graciously answered all my questions and reserved a 45 minute manicure slot the next day with Julie. Julie and I discussed gel, shellac and dipped ... I decided on dipped because it lasts the longest. I'm very happy with the results, after asking for short, oval nails, a soft Barbie pink "jelly" finish and smooth cuticles. Julie gently pampered me for 1 hr and 15 minutes and did not rush. I am only giving one star because it won't let me do zero stars. This was a complete shit show today. I don't normally complain about service. If I don't like something I just say oh well and don't return no need to make a bad review but this was something else. I really needed a pedi after three months not because I wanted the pampering ( even though I did) but because I have toenails that really curve and dig in and it's painful and difficult for me to get them to where it doesn't cause an ingrown toenail. So I was really looking forward to coming in today. I had a 530 appointment. When arrived there is sign on the door that talks about masks and I had one on and then it said please remain outside or in your car and we will call you when it's time for you to come in for your service. I got there about 5:22 at 5:45 they call me and say are you coming in for your appointment you're late. I said I've been here over 20 min standing outside because of your sign she says oh well come in. So I go in it's a little chaotic but oh well it was only their second day being back open with new challenges okay so not upset about that it's understandable. But then she starts the service and she no joke stops five times during my service thus extending it for an extra 20 min bc of all these calls to her cell phone she had to take. Never once changing her gloves touching her pencils and paper and phone and all sorts of stuff. Using dirty gloves to grab the exfoliating scrub from the container after her gloves have been in the water and on my feet. Few people ask her questions and or walk in for their appointments 30 min late and she's rudely telling them to go wash their hands then fill out the form and they tried asking her if there was anywhere they could sit and she ignored them and kept answering her phone. She gets into a verbal debate with another client next to me on it she is going to have time to give her the mani she made an appointment for along with her pedi telling her sorry we don't have time anymore. Then after she is done with a shitty pedicure she did on me ( no cuticle trim uneven toe nails sharp edges and no scrubbing of dry skin on heals ) she paints my nails and walks away. I sat there 15 min waiting for my toes to dry and when I touch them to see if they are dry the entire nail polish on said toe wipes off. I check another toe same thing. So I ask her Why is this happening so she checks and it does the same thing. So I just ask her to remove the polish and she does so semi aggressively and hurting me I ask her to stop and just leave it and I'll fix it at home she doesn't stop then when I go to leave ask her the total and she still charges me full price at $38.00 I didn't want to pay her and I want a refund I never should have paid her. I'm sooo annoyed. I hope they read this and reply bc apparently I had the owner too so idk how this shop is in business. read more

Today I got a shellac manicure which has me considering whether to come back or not. The lady cut me with the nail file, my nails are filed crooked, and there is gel coating my fingertips. read more

I've never left a review for anything in my life but this was the absolute worst shellac mani I have ever had. My normal place was busy this week but of course I'm on a time crunch to get my nails done for a wedding in San Diego this weekend. I walked in and everyone was nice enough, fit me right in, etc. I chose a really opaque light pink for my nails and a pink sparkly one to go on top. One gal did my toes while another did my nails. She was really rough on my cuticles and even cut my thumb - had to put that annoying glue on it before I left. The gal doing my toes kept hitting the shellac light on the fresh polish EVERY time. So I now have bumps and dents on my left toenails. The manicure was the most annoying. She was haphazardly applying the light pink as if the streaks and uncovered areas would magically disappear under the light. Newsflash: it doesn't work like that. I thought maybe the second coat would be better. No such luck. She then added the sparkly color and it dried in weird clumps to the side of my nails and when everything was done there were white streaks and dots in every nail where the polish hadn't adhered properly, built up sparkles in weird places, and a TON of excess product left on my cuticles and skin. The kicker: since I was sitting in the pedicure chair for this manicure...I wasn't able to get up to wash my hands. She sprayed acetone on my nails to clean them which is fine but she sprayed it all over my jeans which are now ruined. All of this nonsense cost me $72 and I will never be back. Get yourself a good nail gal and don't stray. Learned my lesson and will be going to my normal place to have these fixed ASAP. read more

Pedicurist seemed to be in a hurry, we felt like all that was important was to move onto the next client. One client tried to walk out but they encouraged her to stay. Pedicurist didn't use nail file after clipping my nails, didn't use buffer for my heels or callouses. Massage was short for a deluxe pedicure. The pedicurist forgot to clip my friends nails on one foot, she had to remind her. Then once she clipped her nails with all the cream and oil on her skin, she didn't clean under her nails. My friend and I have been receiving pedicures for years and this salon by far, was the worse we've ever been to. We won't be going back. read more
