Today's experience was disappointing. I've been to this salon before around the same time last year and had great service, so this was unexpected. When I sat down, I apologized for coming straight from the gym, and he said it was fine. After he applied the first nail tip, I asked if he could file it a bit because it was leaning. He told me he would shape it later. Once the other finger tips and filing was done. I asked again before the acrylic was applied, and stated, it usually doesn't come out right. If I waited after the acrylic applied. He started complaining that I was giving him a hard time, even though I was simply asking to file one finger just a little more. I ended up filing it myself in a few seconds, and it looked perfect. He continued to complain. I told him it's fine, look they're perfect. It felt like he was projecting some personal stress onto me, even though I was relaxed, watching my show quietly, and being respectful the whole time. It's unfortunate to feel mistreated during a service. Still remained calm when he took upon himself to cut the rest of the tips off and soak my nails. Without me even asking, he took the extra time to make it look better than it already did, because he knew an extra coat of glitter would have made all the difference and it did! i have been here over years , knew every staff and due to the last experience is probably the last we will visit there again, such a disappointment. we booked appt for myself and my husband for manicure and pedicure. it's been a few times when I noticed I was never able to book Tina for appt. And I had suspicions she doesn't like us, every time we step in for appt, no greetings. and even if she had time, she would rather go take a break then ask if she could take one of us since usually we book couple sessions. The last time I was in, we walked in , no one not even Larry greet us, maybe he's having a bad day. But certain Tina as soon I was there, she coincidentally go on a break, given the place opened at 10:30 am , then she has lunch break at 12:20pm . I am not sure what is we did to offend them, we had always been cordial with them, and tip them quite well, used them over the years for all my family members even include our daughter use this place as well. We understand they price reasonably so we were always generous with the tips. And when both Larry and Tina are available, they check their calendar, Larry called up my husband's number while we were sitting there waiting for service, he hung up then walk away without telling us a word. Something I always mind was staff always speak their native language instead of English, at that point Larry and Tina spoke something then look at us then just fade away . Left me and my husband to get service by one single lady even though they all had the time to accommodate, and had accommodate in the past , this time, no one even bother to ask so we can both get service done quickly although I booked for two service one after another. this shop just hasn't been as the way before. We finished our service in 3 hours and left. We usually commute about 45 min just to go to this shop because of the warm personnel, but this has been disappointing the most. We don't want to argue about it, but we certainly won't return if it seem we were somehow being "discriminated" as long -time customers.. this is a service oriented type of business, I am not sure if everyone works there has personal agenda against some customers they wish not to accept, but it wasn't a nice feeling how we left the shop after we have been there over 7-8 years...... read more

Found this fly on the wall in (is that the correct saying in this context?) North Hollywood by accident and I am in LOVE. Everything was so cheap and they got my hands and feet looking BOMB. The acrylics were really cheap too and I'm probably going to try getting some the next time I come. The pic below is a week after my mani and it still looks great (and they are also my real nails). This is just beyond unacceptable... I went it for a fill with Larry and I also did a pedicure with a really nice lady. Towards the end of my appointment, I loved the way my pedicure turned out and I gave the lady a 5-dollar tip. After I finished up with Larry, I simply didn't tip him because I did not have that much cash on me that day, and he briefly tells me that I cannot come to his salon anymore to get MY OWN nails done just because I didn't tip him. Reason 1 on why he got pissed off was that I tipped the lady and not him, and he told me that if I were to come back, I book to get my nails done with someone else. Usually, he tends to be nice, but this point is where he crossed the line, and his behavior was borderline inappropriate. read more

Today was the first time in my life I didn't tip a nail artist. I went in to get a gel manicure. Usually when they take off your gel (at least in my experience) they file the top layer, use cotton balls and aluminum, then scratch/file the rest off. Here they make you completely soak your nails and fingertips in hot acetone for two minutes. This made my skin so sensitive and it burned badly. Next, the man doing my nails started on the cuticles and it was excruciatingly painful. He cut too deep in multiple areas, and from here on whenever acetone was used it was so painful from the cuts I had to pull away and ask him not to use anymore. The gel application was a mess and he constantly had to fix it with acetone, even after I said it burned too much and flinched every time. I left and put Neosporin all over my cuticles. My nails are still sensitive 4 hours later. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra 5-7 dollars to get a good quality manicure. read more

Larry is EXTREMELY unprofessional, which I saw as a warning on another review but it hadn't happened to me until today. I've gone maybe 3 or 4 times since COVID because it's pretty cheap, I really missed having my nails done, and my usual nail salon is actually is closed, even though this shops cleanliness is sketch to the point today one of the workers was literally washing her dog's paws in the same sink that clients wash their hands in, after they'd brought him back for a walk and didn't clean the sink out after. Larry has done my nails each time and he did an ok job for the price but when there were lumps + uneven nail shapes, and I'd politely point them out (and I'm always sureee to be polite especially because of how aggressive he responds) he would get an attitude. There was another man, Andy doing my pedicure at the same time (Andy is actually veryyyy sweet and does a good job) but my upper and lower body were twisted like a pretzel as they both pulled my limbs at the same time, and Larry literally told me I was being annoying when I told him I was actually in pain from it, which was super rude. When it came time to pay, I was told a different and higher price than last time when I got the literal exact same thing, and when I just asked for the itemized breakdown, he blew up in front of the entire shop and said "I don't need your money, just get out" I was actually shocked and kept trying to talk civil with him and he refused and told me not to come back, literally from me just asking for the itemized price since it was higher than last time, and some of the services like gel polish wasn't on their posted price menu. I still paid the full price opposed to just walking out without paying and tipped Andy who did my pedicure, and when I tried to tip Larry, he refused and kept making a scene in front of the entire shop, to the point I had to ask, why does my business mean nothing to you for you to blow up like this over asking for the price breakdown, when I've been a repeat customer who tips well? ....I would NEVER go back, and Larry really needs to get a grip. Customers are allowed to ask prices, there are no receipts, and no full menu posted in the shop with prices, so when they fluctuate you can't be angry at the customer for wanting to know why. There are for sure other salons at that same hole in the wall standard with comparable prices, save yourself the headache. read more

This place is OK. I mean....if you want an inexpensive mani-pedi and you want it done quickly, this is a decent spot. It's very clean, and the techs work hard to power through the crowd, so that your wait isn't bad, no matter how many people are on deck. However, the work isn't terribly thorough. I've had a pedicure done, and still had callouses. The work is the equivalent of when I sit down and take the time to do my own pedicure at home: serviceable, but not top-notch. The acrylics I got were pretty old-school: bulky, square shaped, a bit too long. I always had to shape down the bulk later at home. And, just as with the pedicure, not a lot of attention paid to details such as the cuticles... All in all, if you want some quick service that yields presentable results, this place is fine, and everyone's very nice. If you want top notch, sophisticated work, this isn't the best choice, in my opinion. read more

I think this is a really decent place to do regular pedicure and manicure, maybe not for extreme designs on acrylics. There's hardly ever a wait and they always are attentive, you can't expect a whole lot since they are specialized mostly in regular or basic nails. They also do waxing. They charge 13 dollars for pedicure and 10 dollars for manicure. I don't come here for acrylics unless I'm going to be doing plain nails. They take their time in doing pedicures and make sure you leave with good results :) read more

First time here, sad this place doesn't have spa chairs for pedicures. They do that out of buckets. The parking lot is also difficult to park in but of course that's not their fault. I got a gel manicure $22 (average price). I also didn't have cash so there was $1, no big deal. CASH tips always appreciate but there was a space to add in a tip just incase. The lady who did my nails took her time and they came or beautifully! she seemed to be the one running the show as well. At first she seemed annoyed I chose the color I did but I was satisfied throughout the hour or so length or time I spent there. Very thorough and friendly! Infested by roaches u can see them crawling out from the pedicure carts!!! Gross!!! u can even see the roach spray out side by the entrance behind Larry the owner which is your first clue. I also saw Lynn the other owner picking her nose she wipe it on her shirt and then went on to do a manicure. Found this place, so I call in to ask if they do eyebrows, and a gentleman answered the phone. First off he already sounded rude and irritated, I began to ask my question he cut me off.
