Great customer service, friendly staff, talented nail techs! I have been coming here for 6+ years and have never been disappointed

today 07/21 / 26. had a very disappointing experience at this nail salon. From the moment I sat down, I felt like I was being pressured into paying for services I didn't want. During my pedicure, the technician insisted that I needed an acrylic toenail because one of my toenails was short. I politely asked if they could simply file it instead. Instead of taking the time to explain why an acrylic nail was necessary, the technician laughed, which made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. What made the experience even worse was that they handed me the nail file and expected me to file my own toenail. If I'm paying for a professional service, I shouldn't be asked to do part of the work myself. The overall attitude was unprofessional and unwelcoming. I left feeling uncomfortable rather than relaxed. Good customer service is about listening to clients, explaining recommendations respectfully, and making them feel valued--not pressured or laughed at. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I hope management addresses how customers are treated. read more

Came in for a mani pedi service was OK but the job was not. My nail polish started painting off the next day. It was chunky. It was uneven. The vibe of the salon was not welcoming seemed to be annoyed at our presence first and last time I come here. read more

I've lived in the area for over 5 years and walked by hundreds of times but never stopped in. I was unsure of the shop because of the mixed reviews, but I follow an influencer and she spoke highly about this place, so I finally decided to give them a try. I don't get my nails professionally done too often, usually just for special events or if I'm going on a trip, but Cloud 9 will be my official stop from now on. I was a little reluctant at first and thought that the influencer got special treatment, but after experiencing the shop for myself, I would agree that they're great. The quality was amazing and very well priced. My nail tech painted my nails exactly how I wanted them and they lasted for 4+ weeks. This is my OG nail salon, i've been coming here for nearly a decade now. I can still remember my first visit with my nail tech, Tom. He is truly the best and knows exactly how i like my nails done. He did my acrylic set today as well and im so pleased with how they came out. They look exactly like the inspo pic. All the nail techs here are always nice. Shoutout to John & Noon too! I was looking for a place that seemed capable of doing a bit of nail art near me and had remembered seeing this salon come up on Instagram. I don't get my nails done often and usually save the occasion for my birthday or anniversary (which is coming up in a week), and what I had seen for their nail art online looked impressive. I figured I'd give them a shot! It's definitely a smaller nail salon in an older building, but that didn't bother me. Knowing what I hoped to get done, I also prepaid for 2 hours parking at a meter. When I walked in, I was told where to sit and had some color options literally thrown in front of me as my nail tech came out from the back room. Then there seemed to be some confusion before she even sat in front of me. I took this as my opportunity to show her a photo of the color I had hoped to do (red aura) and then there was more confusion/concern and a laugh as they said they couldn't do it... I should have gone elsewhere, but since I'd already paid for parking and had no ideas of anywhere else to go, I picked a gel color and didn't even bother asking about the designs I had hoped to get. I wish they stated somewhere on a website or something if only certain technicians provide certain services. Definitely disappointed. 3-stars because the color came out okay and it was affordable. read more

The nail salon is in a good location near my apartment so I was excited to visit. Here are my thoughts/impressions: 1. Pedicure: my gel polish was applied well and I do like the look, but the pedicure is basically nonexistent. I wasn't asked what type of pedicure I wanted, so I assumed that I was going to be given the basic one. She scrubbed the bottom of my feet for about 20 seconds each, there was no calf massage, and the water in the pedicure bowl didn't bubble (weird). It was more like sitting your feet in a bowl of hot water. I don't recommend this 2. Gel-X: I came in expecting to get a gel full set (my normal), and the owner came over and convinced me to get Gel-X, which he described as a gel full set plus tips. I thought Gel-X was something different, but I know owners typically try to upsell. I do like my nails, even though it didn't exactly match my inspo pick. I get the sense that there's limited design options so keep that in mind. 3. Price: My nails ended up costing more than I thought, which leads me to believe there were some hidden upcharges. Another review says that chrome costs extra, which makes sense because I did get chrome nails but nobody told me it was extra. I was expecting to receive an itemized receipt so I could get a sense of the charges, but according to them they only accept Venmo or Zelle, which seems weird for an establishment. I was able to pay via Venmo but was told this after my nails were already completed. 4: Environment: If you're looking for a luxury establishment this will likely not be the place for you. I got my brows waxed while here and the room was clean but very old and the place overall isn't necessarily aesthetic (if that matters to you). It's a small shop that fills up fast but I don't mind that. Overall, my nail techs did a great job and seemed friendly, but I think I'll try another place that gives me more of a memorable experience for the same price point. read more

The service I received was not good. They were very rude and dismissive. They tapped me and pointed instead of speaking to me (when they did speak they spoke English well so it was not a language barrier), THEY MADE ME FILE MY OWN NAILS when I asked him to change something about it and read a magazine while I filed, they encouraged me to get chrome WITHOUT telling me it cost $25 extra!!!, the pedicure was supposed to include a foot scrub which the woman did for literally less than 1 minute (my feet were just as rough after as before the pedicure), and the man who did my nails accused me of hating Christians whenever I said I was not a practicing Christian (after he was asking me personal questions about religion). I felt taken advantage of and cried afterwards from how rude they were. My BASIC gel mani/pedi cost $100 and is already chipping 3 days later. Will not go here again. read more

The staff was extremely friendly! They are working by appointment only and were able to get me in very quickly. This nailshop should not be open yet. The place was dirty...no social distancing. 4 girls literally sitting next to each other getting pedicures. I was 1 of the 4. The tools used on my feet were not sterile. Dirty towels were used during my pedicure. The chair was not wiped down after each customer left. Honestly, this place needs a good cleaning and sterilization before they are open to the public. I live a block over from this nail shop...this is my first and last time visiting. Not to mention the staff was not wearing mask while around customers. Toes were umm okay. They were not completely dry which is expected since they do not have a dryer for the feet. read more

Each time that I do gel there it doesn't last the 2 mark. I have to go back to get it fixed. I did my nails this Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning it was already chipping. Went there on Monday since they are closed on Sunday's. I waited an hour and then the girl who helped just put more gel on top of the already chipping nails. I've been going here for over 5 years and they are the best. Not only are their prices good but they work to get you in and out and do a fabulous job. Everyone there is amazing but my favorite is Noon. She does such a great job and even picks my color for me so I'm trendy. I always get compliments on my nails. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS SALON. DO NOT BOOK WITH NOON. I just had the most horrific experience at this place and I am really not sure why and what went so wrong. I am literally writing this with tears in my eyes. I feel humiliated, embarrassed, singled out, and frustrated af. I was referred to this nail salon by a co-worker, and my first time wasn't a bad experience. I went to see Tom but he quickly turned me down after saying he couldn't do the design I wanted. Noon, who I have just learned is the horribly appointed owner took over and did a decent job. Fast forward to today, I decided to go back for a new gel set. Things seemed to go downhill once I showed Noon a photo of the nail shape I wanted. She dismissed me and told me it was acrylic and told me if I wanted that to get acrylic next time. Just very cold and dismissive. So, me being the curious customer who likes to learn and make conversation, I ask, really? that's acrylic? How do you know? And she seemed to get defensive when really, I was genuinely curious so that I could know better next time. As the service continued, she would turn her head and roll her eyes after ASKING me anything pertaining to what I wanted. I would tell her and/or show her a photo and she would react as if I was asking for too much. Like what? Am I not a PAYING customer? Are you not ASKING exactly what it is that I want? Fast forward, I bit my tongue and decided to focus on the TV and just stay quiet until she was done. I tried to make jokes about the show and she continued to be very cold. Finally, she asked me if my french tip was ok. I ask her to match one side with the other and she LOUDLY tells me I'm too picky of a customer and that I'm not good for her mental health. Her outburst was not even provoked. TF? Is this not a customer service oriented business? Her attitude and mistreatment came out of nowhere and I think she let her ego get the best of her shitty service. Her communication skills are extremely poor and she has no business in this field.This was a mistake coming here and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Cloud 9 nails salon is the best on it's block but the service I received today literally left me in tears. I could not believe what was being said and how I was treated simply because I said my nail polish was lumpy?? (Blue nails pictured) The young lady doing my manicure-- she said her name was "Tray" which could be false because when I first asked her she ignored me completely. I'd also like to add that no language barrier was not an issue because she was making conversation with me about EVERYTHING prior to finishing my nails -- immediately got defensive and upset when I pointed out the lumps. She harshly responded by saying "your nails are lumpy, I can't fix that". Prior to, I had gel on my nails that were perfectly fine also done at Cloud 9 by another tech (purple nails pictured) . No acrylic, no dip, no overlay, JUST gel. She then proceeds to roughly take off the gel color and is sanding my skin. At this point I'm still calm and honestly shocked she's being so rude & aggressive . I apologize saying I did not mean to offend I just didn't like the polish and she proceeds to tell Me that I need to find another salon because it's not working for her and "we're" not compatible. With clear hostility, She tells me I don't have to pay for my pedicure and attempts to make me leave with my nails rough and undone. At this point I'm confused. I said I fully intend to pay for my nails, as I always do. Tip, well-- as I always do. I said I'm not sure what I said to offend, I'm not upset I just expected the quality and service that I always receive when I come. I was literally crying, mainly because I was met with so much hostility after voicing my concern and completely ignored by everyone in the shop like I was crying wolf. It's frustrating to automatically be labeled as a "difficult black woman" as soon as you stand up for yourself in the slightest way. Should I have just accepted the poor paint job and went on about my day? NO. She then Goes to John (who was nice to fix my nails, thank you) and talks about me to him and the other workers like I am the problem. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I made an appointment here this past Saturday to get two nails fixed and a polish change. Sounds easy, right?! Well it wasn't! I show up at my scheduled appointment time only to have them tell me it would be another 15 to 20 minutes before they could see me. My appointment time was 10:50 AM. They didn't see me until 11:21 AM...you do the math. My nail tech finally calls me over, I believe her name is Noon. She tells me right off the bat each nail that needed to be fixed was $10 each and a polish change is $25!! OUTRAGEOUS I KNOW! But I didn't have a choice because at this point I was really on a time limit. Seeing my "appointment" started 31 min late. She starts working on my nails and immediately I notice my thumb nail (which needed to be fixed) is crooked. So I told her it was and she says, "you want them all the same shape right?!" I said yes and she says,"I'll make all of them the same shape." Against my better judgment I let her continue her hack job. I also told her I like my nails narrow because I noticed my middle nail (the other one that needed to be fixed) was WAYYYY longer and wider than all the rest. I asked her to file it down but no matter how much she filed it just didn't look right. Then to add insult to injury she says, "different technicians do different things, you should have went to your original technician" and to that I said I wish you would have told me you couldn't do it before you started!!! The 2 nails she did look absolutely horrible they're both crooked, thicker, and wider than all the rest of the nails! The kicker is I still ended up paying and I have them for the next couple of weeks She did take it from $35 to $25 but I shouldn't have paid anything!! Thank God I didn't get a fill which she was pushing me to get because then all my nails would look like this. These people who run these businesses and overcharge really need to take their work more serious! That day I was actually on my way to DJ a very influential artists VIP party before his big show! I say this to say you never know who your working on. Treat people like you want them to come back! Word of mouth combined with yelp is a POWERFUL thing! UPDATE: after only 4 DAYS my gel manicure has lifted and chipped. I'm so disappointed. They fixed for free. Those chipped after three days THEN I was dumb and spent another $20 here for my gel mani, three chipped 48 hours later. They will never get my money again. This is horrible. I walked on on a Saturday at 3:30 asking for a full set and was told I needed an appointment but they were able to provide me with an appointment time at 4:30. I was originally quoted $40 for a full gel acrylic set. At the end of the service, I was charged $45 with no explanation which was mildly annoying. My nails looked great overall but I wish they has been a little shorter, as this is what I had asked for. I'm still happy with my nails but this will not be my go-to place. I've been coming here for years and I've single handedly given this company so much business as I manage a restaurant in the area. Dozens of clients and thousands of dollars. Lately the customer service is atrocious. We're all in Hollywood and working to make a living. If I make an appointment, it should be honored. I knew I was on a schedule and I showed up early for my 2 o clock GEL POLISH APPOINTMENT. NOT EVEN A MANICURE. i should have been in and out in 20 minutes. Instead, I patiently sat for 14 minutes, was told it'll be another 10 minutes and then that ultimately I wouldn't be out the salon before 3 and they'd give me a "DISCOUNT" my next visit. Lol. Not even a free polish. We understand you need profit, but at this point you either need a bigger location or you need to stop being greedy. This isn't fair to your loyal and genuine customers who now have to go to work with this! I would have kept the polish on until tomorrow. Chill nails would never... STOP TAKING APPOINTMENTS IF YOU DO NOT HONOR THEM. PLEASE. And stop trying to use slang and call all your clients girl and sis. Be professional once again. Haven't been here in years. But my other nail salon just relocated. So I decided to try this place out again. Got right in. No wait at 3:15. Got a pedicure done. Which was only okay. She never asked what level of pedicure I wanted. Barely scrubbed my feet and out location in my calf for one min. I also had three nails on one hand that need to be fixed. I had the powder dip done at a different location. Since they didn't have the same color I agreed to get the whole hand done with a color similar so it wouldn't look weird And the guy working was really trying to convince me my three broken nails where fine and not to get them done. So I said I would get both my hands redone then. And he continues to say it wasn't worth it. I was irritate so I let it go and figured i would get them fixed somewhere else. Now another lady came in with a cast on her hand and wanted a mani and pedi. 7 or 8 of the 10 nails could be done. And the guy said they couldn't do it. She continued to express she wanted one and it was only two nails not being done. The guy again was very hesitant about it and had her sit in the waiting area. Two people came in with appointments and sat right away. Older women ask where she can sit for her pedi and he told her she needed an appointment. So she just left. Point of all this is the customer service isn't good. They are not polite or professional. I would give names but no one has name tags or their license posted to see. read more
