1/2 lb. All American Cheeseburger

Whether trivia, bingo, or watching a game, Art's is a classic spot. You can never go wrong with their burgers. They are insanely tasty, juicy, and fulfilling for their size and price point. Dare I say, my favorite burger in town besides Little Jacks Tavern. Splurge to enjoy the fried okra sides. The Staff are great! Their service is personal and they remember many regulars making this a water hole go to spot. Inside and the back patio are both good spots to dine. The back patio is covered and a portion with umbrellas. Always opt outside if it is nice weather.

Side order of chicken for my dog.

8/19/25- quaint lil spot. Dog friendly. Waiter brought a dish of water AND served up some grilled chicken for my Bella. Very thoughtful. We ordered a few beers and salads. The chicken was very moist and well seasoned. Lettuce/veggies very fresh!

2.8 out of 5 Stars -- Arts Bar & Grill (Mt. Pleasant, SC) Arts Bar & Grill definitely brought the vibes--I'll give them that. The atmosphere was lively, upbeat, and felt like a place where good times should happen. Bonus points for actually being open when some places mysteriously aren't these days. The sandwich I ordered was solid, and the menu had a decent variety of bar food options, salads, and comfort-style eats. Now... let's talk about the experience. I ordered a grilled chicken salad... and it showed up with no chicken. Not a little chicken--zero chicken. It was basically a motivational salad. The wait time was also surprisingly long, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. I had enough time to question my life choices. When the salad finally arrived (still chickenless), the dressing was so thick and sweet it felt more like pancake syrup than salad dressing. And unfortunately, this ended up being one of the worst salads I've had--not something you want to be known for. On top of that, the portions were noticeably small compared to other places charging similar prices. Service didn't help much either. The server wasn't very friendly or attentive, which made the whole experience feel even more "meh." Final Thoughts: Arts Bar & Grill has potential with its fun atmosphere and decent menu variety, but the execution just wasn't there. Between missing ingredients, long waits, overly sweet dressing, small portions, and lackluster service, it's hard to justify a return visit. Would I recommend it? Unfortunately, no. Rating: 2.8/5 stars -- good vibes, but the food and service need serious improvement. www.weststayedthere.com

Peel and eat shrimp

We were in town to visit the historic sites so stopped in for lunch. What a great local bar! Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Was early afternoon so bit a lot of people but the ambiance was great. My friends had peel and eat shrimp and shrimp and grits. I had the crab cake sandwich and my husband had the chili dog. Everything was delicious, including the local brews we washed it down with!

Delicious burgers, good drinks, and good service. Had a nice patio for outside seating.

Overall: Nice spot for some beers with outdoor seating to watch a game. The good: If you go in expecting a bar and bar food (which we did), it's a good spot. Good-sized menu and a good amount of outdoor seating (with umbrellas). Service was friendly and quick. The inside seems like a good dive, but we stuck with the outside on a nice day. The not-so-good: The food's good, but not great, which is fine given what it is. Whether you're a fan or not, smoking is allowed on the patio (which we aren't). Food/drink: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 9/10

We had a great time and enjoyed their delicious seafood and especially the stuffed crab hush puppies! Love that the owner is from Ohio as so am I

A small place with great food. N service was great. I had the fried flounder. Witch tasted fresh. And steak fries.

Ladies and gentlemen- Arts has taken their happy hour menu to the next level. On Tuesday and Thursday all day Arts features the Dog Days of Summer. Four of the best hot dogs ever. The new happy hour menu (4 to 7) feature chips and dip, sliders and Shrimp scampi. Wait there is more. We brought our not so social dog with us and she was greeted with her very own water dish and a cookie. Thank you Jess! The bottom line is Arts just keeps getting better. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and now a new happy hour menu. Well done!

Crab cake sandwich, delicious

After driving by many times, we decided to give this place a try. Since being vaccinated and COVID restrictions eased, we've been trying new places. The food first: huge portions, cooked to perfection. No needless fillers or over seasoning in the crab cake which tasted like fresh crab. The flounder sandwich was similarly cooked just right and seasoning did not dominate the fresh fish flavor. Portion size was very generous and a great value for the price. Service good, the beers came out promptly and were nicely chilled. Server was well informed about the menu. We would have been happy to sit at the outdoor area, but apparently smoking is allowed. Deal breaker. The place could use a few cosmetic updates, such as torn vinyl on almost every seat, but not a big factor when considering the general atmosphere is pretty casual. Only one small disappointment with food - the steak fries tasted like they came out of a freezer bag. Hand cut fries would have put this meal over the top by a mile.

A great place to relax with friends and all you can eat oysters doesn't hurt either! Yes for $20 every Saturday until March they have all you can oysters. So after a few buckets of those now I had mivedon to the shrimp and onion rings Deep fried shrimp with a good cocktail sauce and onion rings were lightly battered and kind of sweetness oh so good. I like to try ciders and they had a great one and I cant leave out our waitress who really paid attention to us on a crowded Saturday in Mount pleasant. I'll be back again and again and again be cause when I find a great place like this they get my business and everyone I tell about them.

Would Art's Bar and Grill allow a minor accompanied by an adult in for karaoke?

I'm also not 100% sure, best to check with the manager. But,....... I would think so, pretty laid back, welcoming place!

Considering how tricky parking can be in this area, I knew we were off to a great start!  The meal certainly did not disappoint. We ordered the "Diver Scallops" and the "Grilled Swordfish," both of which were absolutely delicious. I opted for the 8 oz portion, and while the 4 oz might have sufficed, the larger serving truly hit the spot.  To complement the stunning creekside views, where boaters casually drifted by, we indulged in a cheesecake for dessert. It was the perfect finish to an already incredible dining experience.  I'm already looking forward to returning soon!

We sat inside late afternoon and loved the atmosphere. We started with the Pineapple Martini and the T&T Martini (olive oil washed vodka, vermouth & blue cheese stuffed olives). Both were completely different but equally delicious! For dinner, my sister had the Brisket Mac & Cheese and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Both dishes were absolutely awesome. Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Shout out to the ladies at Trader Joe's for the recommendation.

Turning into this area, is seriously a hidden gem of Mt P. The scenery is beautiful, calm and homey. The building itself feels like you are walking onto someone's large porch of their fancy classic beach house. They are have views of the tennis courts, pool and other beautiful areas around it. Now the food, was awesome! I am very picky when it comes to fish, as I usually eat shrimp, crab, tilapia and that's it. But wow, it was refreshing to actually enjoy a different type of fish that wasn't slimy, or tasted fishy. The texture was just right and full of flavor. The hummus, oh yes tomato basil flavor perfectly complimented the fish. Seriously mouth watering. Now the bar, oh heavens yessss. I have no idea the name of the pink drink, but it was phenomenal! It wasn't weak, and wasn't to strong, which can be difficult when mixing with tequila. It was literally just right. Now onto entertainment, they have live music on top of live action tennis. Can it seriously get anymore southern. Love it! The performer was a 14 year old kid saving for college, but he was pretty dang good. Lastly, I loved the atmosphere as it was warm and welcoming. As the sun when down, they flipped on the twinkling lights above. Really made it feel like you where having a party on someone back porch. There's really no other way to do it when you're in Charleston! I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try, it's definitely a hidden gem.

The interior has humorous things…read moreon the wall, dollar bills signed and stapled to the bar, and a great vibe in a very clean environment. We had to try the Apple Pie shots since everyone seems to talk about them. This is way more complex than some apple flavor liquor. The ingredients take some prep work, and the result is something that literally tastes like apple pie. If they bottled this, I would definitely buy it. They have two specialty drinks, the Freshy and the Orange Crush, both of which are made with fresh squeezed juice squeezed right when you order. I had the Freshy which is orange or grapefruit juice with your favorite liquor. I chose grapefruit with vodka and even though I am not a huge fan of grapefruit the freshness and tartness of the drink made it quite enjoyable. My wife had the Orange Crush with Deep Eddy's O.J vodka, Triple Sec, Sprite and some of that fresh squeezed orange juice. It was nice and sweet which was good since we were ordering a lot of savory options. The Potato Skins arrived first and they were truly impressive. Good sized skins with the perfect amount of potato, not too thick or too dry and definitely homemade. They had mixed cheese, bacon and green onions served with sour cream also loaded with green onions. As far as all the potato skins I have had these were a standout. Next came the onion rings with an absolute massive serving for just eight dollars. You could tell they were homemade and served with a chili garlic sauce. The best part was the batter coating which was crispy yet didn't fall off when bent or bitten. They reheated nicely in the air fryer. Next, we tried the Toasted Raviolis which were filled with Italian sausage and served with a house made marinara. They were nice and crispy, but the true star was the marinara sauce which was thick and chunky with parmesan mixed all throughout. I wish they had more dishes that used this sauce as it was excellent. On the advice of some regulars, I tried the chicken fingers which were all breast meat, dill brined and hand battered. It was good advice since the chicken was juicy and tender with a flavorful coating. Sometimes it pays to ask. My wife ordered the thing they are known for their Philly Cheesesteak. She decided on double meat, and they were super generous to the point she looked at me and said, "I don't know how I am going to finish this!". This cheesesteak gets nominate for a lot of best of lists and I could see why. I liked that the cheese was mixed in with the meat and not just poured on top. She enjoyed it but said next time she will order it as is. This is a great place to hang out and relax and maybe catch a band or some bluegrass and enjoy a great meal!

On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

We walked in and the place was emptier than a church on a Wednesday night, yet somehow we were told to head on over to the bar, wait for a table, and go ahead and order ourselves a drink. Didn't make much sense, but we did as we were told. Then we stood there a good 10 minutes while the bartender, who let us know he's studying to be a dentist up in Spartanburg, was busy chatting away with another customer like we weren't even there. When he finally got around to us, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. But the real kicker came after we finally got our drinks. The manager came up, and I kid you not, told us we had to leave the restaurant and go out to the parking lot to finish them. No explanation, just attitude, and not a polite one either. To be honest, the manager seemed like she might have had a little too much Easter spirit, if you catch my drift. The whole interaction was downright combative and made us feel completely unwelcome. What really got me, though, was the poor hostesses and waitstaff. They apologized to us over and over and quietly let us know this kind of situation is something they deal with on a daily basis. We even heard her speaking sharply to another customer, which made it clear this wasn't just a one time issue. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a bad trip to the dentist and cost about the same as a root canal. All in all, it was a mess from start to finish, rude, confusing, and about as un Southern hospitality as you can get. I would think twice before going back, y'all.
