Lots of renters on our street were raving about this place. It's always busy. Parking lot full. Atmosphere is 1960's Art Deco. Food is good but not exceptional. It appeared to be very appealing to an older crowd. Average age of guests appeared to be mid 70's to upper 80's. Nothing wrong with that I mention it only as a point of reference. I killed two bugs on my menu before being able to order. I would only recommend going here if you are looking for alcohol exclusively. The food is mediocre at best, but not terrible. The menu is all over the place and inconsistant in quality. The wait staff is extremely well trained and friendly, but it doesn't make up for the rest. This was our first time to eat at Howard's. It came highly recommended, but still, we were a little skeptical. From the moment we walked in, the people we met were friendly and welcoming, and our 20 minute wait for a Saturday night at 6:30 turned into 15 minutes. We found the restaurant to be clean and fresh feeling, and the service Jamie provided was prompt and efficient. The food was simply outstanding!! My husband and I both had the grilled swordfish which was one of the night's specials, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The ONLY thing they could have done better is use real blue cheese in the salad dressing and in the olives in my martini. read more

We ate there late, 8:30 but they were not on there Game. The prim rib was good but the SALAD was soggy, lifeless and awful! The Chicken Parm was dry. Sitting around for awhile. We ate at Carrabba's the next night. The were spot On! Such a difference. For the price and everything I'd recommend Carrabba's over Howards. Now Farlows in a different story! Best bar and bar service around. The food is all terrific. You just can't go wrong with any meal or drink here. The only thing I wish is that they would bring back the salad bar. Nothing like it around here. read more

This is my favorite restaurant .....the food is fantastic..prices are great....Brian the owner helped me surprise my husband for his birthday...our daughters came in from out of town and my mom was also with us...he had no idea they were there until they walked up to him in the bar....his face was priceless....my husbands favorite meal here is the lollipop lamb chops and Brian made sure they were available ....everything was wonderful and the staff...from the hostesses , bartender and Lisa our server took wonderful care of us and made the entire experience unforgettable. This is the place we go to weather it's a special occasion or just a night out.....we go because the service is five star...the food is always perfect and we just love the atmosphere .....just a note they also have a private room and we plan to use it in April for a family reunion....To the staff and Brian thank you so much for making our night so special we will see you soon Debbie Hyland read more

Howards is a great restaurant. The food is good. The staff is friendly. I especially like the fish dishes. The albacore tuna is outstanding. My husband favorite is eggplant parmigiana. We weren't very impressed with the food here. I went for the prime rib but apparently they only serve that on Saturday. I got the rib eye instead - it was very thin and overcooked. My friends meal was underwhelming as well. I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 because the wine we ordered was good and our waitress was excellent. We went to Howards with friends on a Friday and after waiting an hour to be called, we checked with the hostess and they discovered that our flashing alert disc was dead and needed to be recharged. Wouldn't you think they'd seat us right away? They gave us another one and put us back on the list, behind all the call aheads. When we finally were seated, the service was fine, but the food was average. The salad bar was well stocked and fresh. read more

Good clean restaurant, atmosphere is neutral. reminded me of cafeteria seating with service. The bar service is excellent, bar tenders very attentive and anxious to please. Menu was well varied. Everyone in our party found something they enjoyed, I had the fish and chips which was ok, I also had the salad bar which was pretty good even though the plates were really small. Went to Howards about a week ago and ordered fish and a baked potato with butter only. The food came out without topping on the potato and a tub of what I assumed to be the butter I ordered. Turned out it was sour cream and rendered my potato inedible. No sign of the waitress and after a wait I tracked her down and asked for the potato to be replaced and butter to be provided. She behaved like it was my fault for not knowing the tub was sour cream. She returned with the potato and a few individual servings of an artificial butter substitute. I again asked (third time) for butter and butter was brought out by another server. By then my fish was cold and my dining experience was ruined. It shouldn't be this difficult! read more

I had a fantastic steak at the 'New' Howards! Great service, very reasonably priced for the quality of food served. I will return.

Ate lunch at Howards on Friday and was so disappointed!!!! It was a little hole in the wall that had a ton of parking so we figured the place was a find. Well were we wrong!!! The smell of sewage when we got out of the car was made me sick to my stomach, then when we got inside we were surprised to find the place very neat and tidy and very nicely decorated. The rest room was rather dirty and there were no paper towel!! We had the special of the day and all you can eat fish fry and I swear the fish was FROZEN. They do have a huge salad bar but for all that there was there it all seemed to taste pretty much the same. The waitress was slow and not at all attentive to our needs at all. I was very disappointed and I will not be returning. A restaurant on the water in Florida, would you not expect the fish to be FRESH?? If your in the area, I suggest you drive by and eat elsewhere this place was not worth the money at any price. read more

I feel bad writing this review, but in all honesty I don't like the new place. The building itself and decor is fine. The hostesses have a LOT to learn about customer service. I was in utter shock when I overheard 2 customers get chastised by these teenie-boppers. One gentleman was 20 minutes early for his reservation and the little girl basically was nasty with him and told him "next time don't come early, just be on time ". The other customer had a larger party and a different little girl rudely told him he should have made a reservation. Perhaps so, but the customer wasn't upset or rude, disappointed yes, but certainly didn't need some kid being rude in front of the rest of the waiting clientel. I would have left, but we were waiting for another couple. When they arrived, my friend asked if we could go to the bar and one of the girls said "ya, sure, that's fine just pay the bar bill before you're seated." Not a big deal to pay the bill, but the lack of customer service and slang was a major put off. We stayed up front waiting to be seated instead. The food, it's okay but doesn't seem as good as before. The wait staff is still good. Here's a kicker, as we left, the two rude girls were SITTING on the floor in front of the hostess desk. Yes, sitting on the floor. REALLY??? Overall, I was displeased and not sure I'll return. read more

This place is horrible. The waitress we had was overwhelmed with way to many customers. It took 20 minutes just to get drinks. Then she kept saying she would be back to get out order. This place is too expensive and you feel like your in a Piccadilly or cafeteria. We ended up just paying for our drinks and leaving. If I am going to pay $20 plus dollars for each person I would expect better service. There were other wait staff that were just hanging out doing nothing. Seems to me that the manager should have recognized the poor lady we had had too many people to take care of. The place wasn't that busy either. I felt bad for our waitress. read more

From the outside the place doesn't look so hot. Once we got inside we weren't relieved either, it matched the outside. With two young kids reaching their bedtime limits we decided to stay. We missed the crab which was offered on three other days of the week so i thought i would go with some fish. When i asked the waitress what they had fresh from the ocean we were sitting on, she said all of their fish was "flashed frozen". Not the response i was looking for considering our location and the list of fish on the menu. With that i decided on the Sirloin steak and baked potato. The wife ordered coconut shrimp and thought the sauce was too sweet. I tried a shrimp and it was average. However, when i cut into my steak i knew it would be good despite its odd elongated shape. It was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. It's one of the best steaks I've had in a long time! The potato was just that but on the small side and the veg that came on the side was above average. Service was average despite the age of my waitress and the number of tables she was working. Our dinners came with a salad bar which was a bit below average as it lacked many of the options typically found like fruit, nuts, cheeses. In the end this place is a local favorite with mostly an older crowd +60 but if you in town and looking for a good steak, i highly recommend. read more

I was so happy to see online that breakfast was available with Eggs Benedict, but not so happy once I tried it. The eggs were almost raw. The "home fries" were not homemade, but hard little perfectly cubed potatoes, obviously from a bag of premade frozen potatoes. The coffee was so horribly bitter (cheap) that I could not drink it. My little cup of water was never refilled and the hollandaise sauce was so bland I could hardly tell it was there. Disappointed. read more
