I've gone here a handful of times throughout the years. I've never been impressed. This time though, will be my last. They changed the inside of the market. Before, you used to be able to view the live lobsters and see them pick them out. I used to like this, because I want to make sure the lobsters are alive and moving when they are removed from the water. Now, I don't know where they keep them, but I can't see them. I wouldn't trust that I am getting the fresh and very alive lobsters. Second, and most important of all, the prices are BAD. I called them a couple weeks ago for the price of lobsters. They told me 3 for $65. For me, that's extremely expensive. For me, I wouldn't pay that for myself, but my wife wanted me to cook some lobsters (would have been only her second time having lobster in her life). I decided to give them a try one last time and compare it to other markets that cost much less. If I could get similar taste at the other markets, I would no longer go here. Sadly, when I went in, I noticed the prices were now 3 chick lobsters for $75, or $25 a pound if you don't want 3. I asked about this, telling them they recently told me they were $65 on the phone... maybe not more than 2 weeks ago... and they said they raised their prices. Holy shit. That's not a $1 raise... or a $3 raise, but a whopping $10 raise. It wasn't too long ago that 3 of their lobsters were $25, and even that seemed expensive. I was willing to try them one last time at $65 (highway robbery bent over backwards), so I asked if they would honor the price quoted on the phone a few weeks ago, and they said no. So I walked out without spending one penny. These prices are terrible. TERRIBLE. Other markets in the area are charging $15 a pound for new england live lobsters. It's their store, they can charge what they want, but I won't buy anything if the prices are too high. Maybe this will go out of business like the port charlotte location? Maybe the snow birds don't know about other places to buy fresh lobster and pay the price? Well, if you know where to shop, you can find everything I've seen in this store for about 1/2 the cost. Tourist trap? I don't know, but buyer beware. read more

Stopped in for lunch since they had lots of outdoor seating in the shade. You order inside at the market counter but they make the food in the trailer outside and bring it to your table. They were pretty busy but the food arrived quickly. Lots of people were stopping in for fresh seafood from the market while a few were having lunch outside. The food was delicious and everyone loved it. The only issue we had was that I was hoping to just get fried shrimp for my daughter but the only options were coconut shrimp or the shrimp po boy. They said that's all they could do. Once we received the shrimp po boy, I was confused why they couldn't just give us that but without the bread. Oh well, she just picked the shrimp off the bun and loved it anyways. Just didn't seem very accommodating when they seemed so helpful to the customers ordering from the actual fresh seafood market. I had come here before as a Maine Seafood Market to pickup fresh Maine Lobsters. Recently they put some tables and a tent out front and now they do Lobster Rolls. I am from Maine so am pretty picky about what a lobster roll is or isn't, and for what passes as a lobster roll in Florida. This is the real deal, fresh, not frozen lobster, bit of mayonnaise, on a toasted roll, that's it!!! Worth the price if you want a genuine taste of Maine! read more

We have been here twice once for scallops to take home and cook. Counter staff was very good communicating and offering advice. As for the scallops, pan fried them and they were very good, big and tasty. Been here twice already. One time to pick up fish to cook mad today we ordered from the grill. Lobster roll ... OMG beyond good! Husband had the fish tacos and we both had lobster bisque. Great! I went here today and had scallops fried with french fries. The fries were good hot. The scallops were ok. Home one hour after and have stomach pains and now I m paying for it in the bathroom. Bad scallops. Will never go back here. Not a nice birthday lunch. read more

This review this is specifically for the clam chowder. It should be renamed hard potato soup. The broth was delicious, the potatoes were plenty and also plenty hard and finally, the clams were pretty much non-existent . At $10 a pint it was a total waste of money. While vacationing in Florida, we shopped at Twin Lobsters for whole live lobsters. The staff was super friendly and even steamed the lobsters for us. Lobsters were delicious and we will absolutely be going back. It did smell like a fish market, but that is to be expected since it is what they sell, and the lobsters were really fresh. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!. I've been going for years and this place has gone way downhill. This week we bought two of their clam chowders. It used to be pretty good. This week, it was inedible it was so salty. I asked my guest to return it as I was running. The guy took it, said they don't put salt in it, returned it to the frig (we had eaten from it!) and wouldn't give a refund. Can you imagine!!!! They should be shut down. I had wanted to stop at twin lobsters for years, and when I finally did, I was shocked at the prices and the quality of the offerings. I bought a pint of lobster bisque at a cost of about $20. The taste was unremarkable and the one piece of lobster was very chewy. This was not the excellence that I expected from this establishment. Bought a couple lobster today. They were a mess with abscesses on the claws and body. No, really. Dumped them out of the bag into the pot and when I pulled them out I realized what a mess they were. The tamale in both looked and tasted bad. The last two lobster I bought here were the same way. No excuse for pulling lobsters out of the tank like that and putting them into a bag and selling them. I can't imagine what these folks are thinking to do such a thing. And another thing: the place smelled like bad fish. Very strong "fishy" odor and not the good kind. Very disappointing ...Last Saturday I went to your Pt. Charlotte location to buy some little necks. I needed 60 of them and more, you didn't have more and your std price was $0.90 each WOW...I needed them so you gave them to me for $0.80 each. We have picked up lobsters before. Nicely steamed. This time we wanted two 2 pound lobsters and one 1 1/2 pound. They were ready on time but when ,my husband went to pay, it was $164 ! The had given us one 1 1/2 lobsters, and two others that combined weight were 6 + pounds. We had company, so my husband took them. I felt like they had these bigger lobsters and they wanted to get rid of them so they just hoped we wouldn't notice. We did. They were tough, probably because they were old big lobsters. We also meant to get clams, but they were charging 90 cents a piece. We got them at Publix for 39 cents a piece. I will not be going back . read more

Its wacky Wednesday so my wife sees an advertisement for 12.99 lobster rolls at Twin lobster. What a deceptive ad. Not sure how these people sleep at night. I weighed this joke of a sandwich when we went home. A massive 5.5 ounces fully dressed. I will attach pictures of what we got and what we were suppose to get. Fish looks good but the customer service of one individual, I am guessing the owner, was the worst I have ever experienced. The verbal lashing I received for my elderly pulling the bags out of the ice was uncalled for, not professional and is cause for me to not return to this establishment. He told us he would not sell us the fish until my uncle apologized, which he did so we could complete the sale. In fairness, there was a sign but it was handwritten with the other signs and prices and not noticeable. As a former restaurant owner, or really any customer related business, I would never talk to a customer the way I was spoken to.
