Go here for the Chilean sea bass with the Florentine sauce, get the lemon potatoes, and spinach -- honestly one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. I'd give that dish a 4.75 and the overall dining experience a 4.2. The fish was incredibly fresh, delicate, and perfectly cooked. It felt light, yet still filling and completely satisfying and nice size portion too. AND DO NOT FORGET the lemon potatoes... possibly the best I've had in my lifetime. I normally don't even enjoy foods that are overly lemony, but these were balanced perfectly with just the right brightness and flavor and seasoned with perfect salt and pepper ...when the waitress told me rosemary was part of the flavor it was surprising bc I also don't like rosemary...honestly I would go back for those alone. Hub was trying this place for the first time and ordered the chicken parm. He said it was decent but fairly basic compared to other Italian spots and I'm being overly generous with my review. The side salad was surprisingly memorable...a simple mix of greens with excellent olive oil and vinegar that made it taste fresh, flavorful, and elevated. They also brought out complimentary mini rice balls along with a meat and cheese appetizer, which was a really nice touch. I paired my meal with a Washington Riesling by the glass, and our waitress was genuinely delightful and warm throughout the evening and checked if I needed a refill. My water glass also somehow stayed full the entire night, which honestly deserves recognition because that rarely happens anywhere anymore. Small hiccup: I had to ask 4 times for lemons for the water (from other staff the first 2 times)... but hey, fourth time's the charm. They also had a live piano bar 7/8 PM on Thursday night which had a lively singer and a delight to see live music entertainment. The biggest opportunity here is streamlining the music when there's live entertainment. For example, "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton was overlapping with the piano bar singer performing "8 Days a Week," which made the atmosphere feel a little chaotic and over loaded my senses and not in a good way. The piano bar music created a much more upbeat and enjoyable vibe than the regular dining room playlist. To finish, we tried the homemade New York cheesecake with caramel sauce for dessert, and you could absolutely tell the desserts were homemade. Better than some cheesecakes I've had in NYC. A perfect ending to the meal. Overall, definitely worth visiting for the chilean sea bass dishes, lemon potatoes, homemade desserts, attentive service, and warm atmosphere. After reading so many glowing reviews, I am absolutely stunned by how awful our experience was on Friday, May 8th. Between an absentee, scatterbrained server and poorly prepared food, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in years. We had been looking forward to this dinner all week, especially since we were celebrating two special occasions, but from the moment we were seated, it felt like we had been placed at the "afterthought table." For the first 30 minutes, no one acknowledged us. We weren't given menus, water, or any interaction whatsoever. When our server finally appeared to take a drink order, we asked for a wine list. She disappeared for another 15 minutes, and I eventually had to get up and ask another employee for menus myself. When the server finally returned, she apologized by saying she was "busy with Phil Simms" at another table. That is not something you say to paying customers. My time and money are just as valuable as anyone else's. The rest of the evening followed the same pattern: long stretches without service, forgotten requests, and excuse after excuse. When our wine finally arrived, the server spilled it across the table and onto my wife's glass, then joked that she had "forgotten how to do her job" after being on vacation and earlier she even forgot to put someone's dinner order in! At that point, I politely explained that service had been extremely slow and asked if things could improve. Her response was to laugh in my face. After taking our entrée order, she then informed us she had forgotten to tell us the specials. More than an hour after being seated, our appetizers finally arrived. They were bland and disappointing, and once we finished, the empty plates sat untouched on our table for quite some time while our server once again disappeared. Nearly two and a half hours into the evening, our entrées finally arrived. Unfortunately, the food was just as bad as the service. The chicken dish was room temperature on the outside and refrigerator-cold in the middle, with unmelted cheese still visible -- clearly something that had been prepared earlier, refrigerated, and poorly reheated. The gnocchi was overcooked to the point of being mushy and gelatinous. The braised short ribs were dry and overcooked, and the risotto was watery and flavorless instead of creamy and rich. After one or two bites, we asked to speak with a manager. The manager appeared somewhat indifferent, though he did offer to comp a portion of the meal. He also said someone would come wrap the food, but of course, no one ever did. We then sat for another 20 minutes with no interaction until our server returned and cheerfully asked, "I hope everything was great tonight!" We explained all of the issues, and her response was simply, "Oh, sorry." We asked for the bill and waited another 15 minutes. When she finally returned, she offered more excuses and told us we should give the restaurant another chance because "the kitchen is preparing for Mother's Day." At that point, it was hard to believe how tone-deaf the entire experience had been. Needless to say, we will never return and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

I saw this restaurant on a TikTok review and had to come check it out. Im so happy I did. We came on a Saturday at 5:30pm and thank god we had a reservation because the restaurant was jam packed. Not an empty seat in the house. We started with their raw oysters and was blown away by the quality. Our waitress was so personable, we honestly enjoyed her so much! The food is beyond amazing. This is top notch Italian food, could be the best I've had in Jersey so far (since moving here from NY). Plenty of parking in the lot and prices are average for a fine dining restaurant. We had another wonderful dinner at Arturo's! Celebrating my mother's memory! It was great to see Mama and Mario! Started off with my favorite and complimentary Arranchini! The Burrata special appetizer with Fig was delicious. We also had the fried Calamari and shrimp.... Great! We had seven entree's, the winner was the sea bass! Service, the bus boys and girls and servers always hustle and are very attentive and friendly. Sadly, I was disappointed in our waiter who basically abandoned or forgot us. The dessert were fantastic! Mamas cheesecake and cannoli pie were out of this world. The ambience is always nice, I would prefer the traditional Italian background music. We absolutely love Arturo's! This gem is a three-generation family owned authentic Italian spot, that has been around for over 40 years. I was astonished by how massive their menu is. But even more so, how incredible every single dish we tried was! Rated #1 on door dash for pasta in Bergen County, there's simply no surprise! The portion sizes, flavors, and home made pasta is simply incredible. The arancini's and chicken parm vodka were highlights for me. But the game changer is the extensive home made desserts and gelatos made in house. The cheesecake was hands down the best I've ever had. It was my first time here with a small group and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the generosity of the portions, and the ambiance of the restaurant. There was a pianist/singer in the bar area but it was a nice addition to the dining experience. I loved the murals on the wall. The server was nice. It did get busy so the waitress staff was busy also. It was very nice to have been given pick food of soppressata, provolone, rice balls, and bread before ordering. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The stuffed artichoke and sautéed cherry peppers were on point. I have been craving a pasta carbonara and have been left underwhelmed the last several places that I ordered it from, but tonight my craving was taken care of. It was very good. My family and I JUST discovered Arturo's and I feel so grateful we did! The atmosphere is excellent, the wait staff are so kind and friendly, and, most importantly, the food is always a hit. My favorite part of their menu is the fish section, where they provide almost a build-your-own dish where you choose your desired fish AND style. My husband and I went to Arturo's tonight, sat at the bar and had a great meal! To start they brought us hot bread and butter, a small cheese plate and rice balls. We ordered the buffalo mutz app with figs which was very good (see picture). We also had chicken parm and chicken scarpariello which were both delicious. The bartender is amazing! Food was below average at best. Four meals came out , and every one of us thought their meal was meh . The bill was very expensive for what we ordered . Came here for my bday with my hubby, parents and step sister. As we arrived they had a platter of meat & cheese and arancini balls and bread on the house. We had calamari which was excellent, I had the escargot which had no flavor and was too buttery And a Stuffed artichoke ~ excellent. For dinner I had the special rack of veal chops oreganata on a bed a sautéed spinach and potatoes. Mine was so good I'd go back just to get this again. Husband had the braised short ribs with risotto, very good again. Parents split Cavatelli and broccoli al dente and it was fresh home made pasta, they loved it. We then had dessert which I posted a picture of we all had different flavors of gelato that just melted in your mouth it was so good. Our waiter was very attentive and came over multiple times to see how we were doing and if we liked everything. We went at 6pm and there weren't many people in the establishment but I can see on the weekends it must be packed. They also offer a full bar with special drinks. Last Saturday my family went to Arturo's for dinner. I was upset because all the bar seats were reserved but it was empty. My brother said to the hostess, "Can we sit at the bar?" But the hostess said to him, "You can't sit at the bar, you have to go to the table." So my brother said to the bartender, "Can we sit at the bar and wait for our family?" He said yes. So for about 20 minutes, we waited at the bar before our family arrived. Outside the parking lot was crowded, but there was no valet. The food was excellent, very expensive, but my family loved it. Dinner is great with fresh bread and butter, and rice balls for the table. Service is outstanding here and if there is any question it will be answered above and beyond. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and very well decorated. Should you choose to sit at the bar you will also be very pleased. The cannoli pie is a MUST HAVE for dessert. It is homemade by the owner and the most delicious dessert I have had at an Italian restaurant. The stuffed shrimp was amazing and a perfect portion, extremely well flavored and cooked to perfection. My wife and I invited another couple to join us at Arturo's on Friday night. We have not been there since the passing of the chef/ owner. We have been going to Arturo's for 20 years, and always had a great meal there. Well what a disappointment! Not sure what was worse, the food or the service. They were bringing food to our table that was not ours. Our server Lily was just awful. She could not have been 22 years old and very clueless. My wife and I were quite embarrassed for bringing them to a restaurant that we said was great and turned out to be a disaster. This is all I am gonna say. I believe one of the son's is now the chef, not good. He did not inherit any culinary talent from his dad. We will not be returning to this restaurant any time soon. Celebrated one of our good friend's birthday at Arturo's Saturday night. He the oldest of our bunch and leads us off to another year older! Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and knew the menu and specials quite well. We all started with good cocktails - Moscow Mules, Godfathers and other concoctions - all very good. Even their Cabernet by-the-glass was very good! For appetizers we ordered the calamari (very tender), mussels in white wine sauce (very good), and the burrata mozzarella with figs and balsamic glaze (excellent!). For entrees, we enjoyed Chicken Scarapiello (good), special homemade pasta with lump crab (not great - sauce needed more flavor)and their special double cut Veal rib chop simply grilled with shitake mushrooms and cherry peppers (outstanding!). For dessert we had our own birthday cake from nearby Market Basket (wow!) but also ordered a round or two of gelato with some Espresso, Sambuca and Marie Brizzard cordials to finish off a great meal. 43 Years of Extraordinary Food, Service and Atmosphere. My wife took me to Arturo's on Friday night June 27, 2025, for my 75th birthday, which is actually Monday, June 30th. We were greeted by a smiling and energetic young lady who showed us to our table. Next we were served potato croquettes, cheese and the most phenomenal Sopressata I've ever eaten with great basket of bread. YUM and YUMMER!!! Our server Isabella greeted us and took our drink orders. My wife had a Negroni (her favorite cocktail) and I had a Markers Mark on the rocks. When she returned with our drink she told us about their specials for the night asked if we had any questions about the menu then gave us some time before returning to take our order. I ordered 2 appetizers, stuffed zucchini flowers, stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella and prosciutto and escargot. Both apps were incredible. My wife ordered Capellini with Crab Meat, made in a light tomato sauce with garlic, arugula and sun dried tomatoes. There was an amazing amount of jumbo lump crabmeat, so sweet and delicious. I totally enjoyed Braised Short Rib with Risotto. Its braised for 48 hours and served over Arborio Risotto with tomato and toasted pine nuts. The short rib was sooooo tender if I did not have any teeth I could have eaten it. Just marvelous and astonishing. I enjoyed a glass of Chianti with my meal. Molto bene!!! We ended of our dinner with two regular coffees and shared a slice of house made cheesecake with caramel sauce. A Phenomenal Ending to a Great Dinner with Extraordinary Food and Service. Thanks to ownership for creating notable memories with great people, great service, great food resulting in great experiences. I want to recognize our server Isabella. It is the best Italian restaurant in northern NJ bar none. The food is consistently exquisite, the bar area is happening and the piano player plays his heart out every time.
