Hair and makeup for my wedding day. Credit: http://www.kimberlymjaseth.com/

Jackie did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it was FLAWLESS. My local salon recommended her when they could not help me for my wedding day (I did two ceremonies, in case you see another hair review with someone else!). While I did do a paid hair style trial, she did not require a makeup trial, which saved me money. The hair style (and trial) and makeup was by far the cheapest I found in the area. I have a difficult skin tone to match, and she did my foundation better than anyone else ever has in my life. The natural lighting was great for that, but Jackie is amazing herself. It was great because I looked good both close-up in person and in photographs, and it didn't mess up it the super hot weather. For my hair, we did a simple twist but she made it unique (and work for my face shape) with little touches and listened to my input. I HIGHLY recommend Jackie for high quality hair and makeup and as a lovely, relaxing lady to start your wedding day off with!

Jackie did a great job cutting my hair!

Review for Immersion Spa ‍…read more I absolutely loved this place, and to this day, I still miss it. When I lived in the Bay Area, I was a faithful and loyal customer at Immersion. It became one of my favorite self-care rituals. I would bring family and friends, and I went regularly--about once every quarter. It was something I always looked forward to. There is currently no Korean spa in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I live now, and the closest option is in Atlanta. So yes... boo-hoo. Nothing quite compares to this experience. What made Immersion special was the sense of freedom and relaxation the moment you walked through the door. The spa is thoughtfully organized, very clean, and beautifully maintained. You store your belongings in secure lockers, receive a waterproof wristband, and then the entire experience begins. I always arrived at least 90 minutes before my massage so I could fully enjoy the amenities. That extra time was part of the magic. My favorite features included: * The hot tub and invigorating cold plunge * The wet sauna and dry sauna * The gentle, calming warmth of the Himalayan salt room * Complimentary roasted tea and water * High-quality bath and shower products in the women's area * A peaceful, well-run environment with clear structure and cleanliness standards Everything felt intentional and relaxing. My go-to service was always the Fusion massage, which blends shiatsu and deep tissue techniques using organic coconut oil. The therapists were incredibly skilled and intuitive--they knew exactly how to work out tension and restore balance. Some of the best massages I've ever had were here. Over the years, prices have increased slightly--as they have everywhere. I remember paying around $100 before COVID, and later seeing it closer to $130. Even so, the value of the experience made it worth every dollar. I was there hook, line, and sinker. A few practical notes for future guests: * Parking is limited and shared with neighboring businesses (including Kumon), so timing matters * The spa has separate men's and women's areas * No outside shoes are allowed inside the spa * Clothing is optional in designated areas, which is standard for Korean spa culture * Plan to arrive early to fully enjoy the amenities before your service One service I personally never tried was the traditional Korean body scrub. I watched others experience it, and while many people love it, it looked a little too intense for my taste. That said, the massages and spa amenities are absolutely exceptional. If you're considering a membership, it's worth exploring. This is the kind of place that becomes part of your routine once you experience it. I still haven't found anything in the Southeast that truly matches the level of service, atmosphere, and overall experience of Immersion. I keep looking--but this one set the bar very high. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

We arrived early so we could take advantage of the showers, saunas and hot tubs. The locker rooms and sauna areas are divided by gender and are full of amenities. After that we met with our massage therapist and had the best 85 minutes of deep tissue work. Post massage we headed back to the separate locker rooms and had full access to the amenities again. Check out was positive and our friends at the front desk were just as supportive and kind. I've seen other reviews of other Spas harassing clients for tips or add on services this is not the case at Immersion. Additionally I left my water bottle at the spa and when I contacted them they had it waiting for pick up. I recommend this place for daddy daughter dates, solo self care or a couples retreat!

We had such a fun, relaxing time together. I even noticed several men coming in for treatments, which was great to see. The entire staff was incredibly sweet, gentle, and professional. I received a scalp analysis, similar to what you'd experience in South Korea, and the whole process felt luxurious from beginning to end. Washing my hair while massaging my hear was absolutely wonderful and was my favorite part of the experience. They even finished my service by blow-drying my hair with a Dyson, and I was able to use their high quality hair straightener afterward, which was a nice touch. I'm already excited to come back! It was the first day in several months the full remodeled facility was open. I was expecting a vastly different experience due to how long the remodel took. It was clean and more minimalist decor than before. I preferred the round lounge chairs in the communal sanctuary, rather than the two couches that were pressed against the wall... like they were in time out in a dental office. The steam room was new, but eucalyptus smell was overpowering. I thought perhaps it was a cleaning chemical. After reading the description, this was the intended smell. The sauna was new and very nice. As far as the service went. It was average. We have never had massages that started at the feet. This is where a massage usually ends. It started at the feet and moved up the legs. Then from the shoulders to lower back. It felt like tension was left in the middle of the body rather than a head to toe flow. No work on the gluteus mussels. Customers are paying for the use of the facilities. If you are looking for an average massage, and a day of escape and relaxing at an exorbitant cost. My masseuse Antoinette asked me which area I wanted her to focus on, and I said my shoulders. She asked if I worked on a computer (I said yes); then she tried to talk me into changing from my swedish massage to deep tissue massage for $10 more. I told her I didn't like deep tissue and she tried to convince me that "we're not going to put you in pain". After this, when she was selecting the massage oils, she also tried to upsell me on a more expensive oil option. And then when she finally worked on me, it felt like the pressure just wasn't strong enough, and the whole time I'm thinking it was because she wanted me to upgrade to a deep tissue. Very disappointing. Is it worth the price, I don't think so.
