Don't ever trust this company they will steal from you and lie straight to your face. I cannot believe they have stayed in business considering their horrible business practices. Charging our family months after we have moved out of our home for propane after calling multiple times to let them know we didn't live there anymore. They are truly awful do not ever trust them with your money or your business because you definitely will regret it. Go anywhere else for these services they are not trustworthy and they do not care about their customers in the slightest. I don't know what has changed but I've had the worst experience with them over the last year. I've paid almost $500 to have been fireplace fixed and it still doesn't work. The woman on the phone is incredibly rude and unable/unwilling to help. She refers me to someone else who never answers the phone and only responds to every 3rd email I send. Their portal incorrectly shows I owe hundreds of dollars and I'm told to just "ignore" it. I would switch companies but I'm beyond frustrated that the fix I paid for isn't working. It's starting to feel like a scam, especially after reading other reviews. read more

Purchased a home that had a brand new propane and water filtration system installed by arundel gas. The water system isn't functioning properly, so I brought Phelps in who told me it was arundel. Phelps was super nice, prompt, and explained everything. Fast forward, I call arundel to come out and immediately it was a hassle. Arundel gas employees over the phone are generally rude and act like im burden trying to get the water system they installed fixed and propane delivered on a schedule. They wouldn't tell me a general time the technician would arrive until the day of and even then they said he'd get there when he gets there. The technician arrived, my wife said he seemed disgruntled and overall not very approachable. He changed a filter and left. I still have issues with the water and called back to talk to the tech to see if it's all functioning and if the problem would go away with time. The call taker at the office said the technicians will not speak with customers over the phone and only through the office people. This company so far is awful. I am tempted to call in another company to replace all of it just so I don't have to deal with such a rude company that doesn't have remotely any customer service etiquette. read more

I have had much better luck with Arundel Gas and Water than the other Yelpers on here. I don't really understand it. I grew up in the area and I think they have been around since I was elementary school - and that was a long time ago! They always answer the phone when I call, schedule a delivery of propane to me quickly and usually are here the next day even though they have a 3-5 window. They also have a guaranteed 24 HR delivery if you run out of propane. They offer a small discount if you pay your bill within 3 weeks of receiving it. I agree, their online billing system may not be up to snuff (I didn't know they had one). I send them a check and they cash it quickly...the old fashioned way - keeping my letter carrier in business. :) The lease tanks as well as sell them to you. The lease is reasonable and a one-time fee I believe. Mine was already at the home when we bought it, so It may be different if you don't have a tank. I love Arundel Gas - they are one of the only warm, bright spots of this terrible winter. P.S. After writing this review I went to their website and found the link to pay my bill online. I worked great for me. I needed to use IE or Firefox, not Chrome and it went through just fine. I received a payment confirmation email immediately. That's awesome. read more

Have been a customer for over 25 years, with many ups/downs in service. Delivery has been acceptable. Problems abound with office personnel. Difficult to get connected to someone who is competent and willing to resolve billing issues. They switched their payment platform recently and left many customers unable to pay their bill online. They did not notify the customers online or in snail mail of this issue. Finally had to go in person to pay. At that time, I closed my account and will find another provider of propane delivery to my home. Based on my personal experience, the company has had too many instances of being incompetent and rude to me. read more

We recently purchased a home. Our sales contract states we own two propane tanks. Called around for service and when speaking with AG&WC to discover their claim to one of the tanks as it was leased by prior owners. No tag on the tank, no sticker, nothing to prove ownership on the tank itself. Service representative was quite rude about the situation. I explained the home sale, the deceased status of prior owners, and we would take on the needs of the tank from thereon. Was emailed a contract, life got busy for a couple of weeks, and I had not signed anything yet. In the meantime, the company sent a notice to the deceased prior owner's family with a bill for the lease. I discover this through the realtors involved. I contact the company immediately and ask them why they didn't send it to me. Phone service was awful so I drove to the office to chat in person and finalize the contract. Their service representative, name starts with L, was so extremely rude - I walked out, tore up the contract, and refuse to be a client of AG&WC. I told them to pick up 'their' tank. read more

They were a nightmare for us for propane. They argued with me for 2 months after they sent me a $650 bill for propane when we had just been topped off the month prior and bill was paid. There was no way we ran through a 500 gallon tank in 1 month. We panicked and had a plumber out to ensure none of our pipes were leaking to no avail. We showed video proof of our and our neighbors cameras that they did not come to our home on that day and time that their ticket time stamp showed. Their last solution was to send a technician out after 2 months of back and forth to report back to them which home propane tank he filled. The technician says our house is blue with stone. I said no it isn't. Lol. IT WAS THE NEIGHBOR 3 doors down. He filled their tank but recorded our address. I cancelled my agreement with them. They never once apologized. The lady I corresponded with was very rude and condescending like I was in the wrong. They came recommended to us so we never really looked at reviews but if you look at their Google reviews there are similar situations. read more

I purchased a house that had a water conditioner installed and serviced by AG&WC. We had resin balls leaching into our tap water from the system. After several service calls and multiple $ invoices I realized they were bilking me for the service fee and had no idea how to diagnosis the problem (Yes - they charged me a service fee for every visit even though they didn't fix the problem). After complaining to a "manager" I was told they would send a salesman out to sell me a new system (which it turns out was their goal). I would have been content with them telling me I needed a new system but not after several hundred dollars of service calls changing parts that were not broken. By the respect and service I received from AG&WC management they clearly don't need any more customers or care about existing ones. I would not would this company to even fill a propane tank. This company charged me for their mistakes. They did not fill a propane tank as requested but stated that they had but the tank must have had a leak.They then said that they had no record of the request. They denied a promised discount for ordering in June because they had no record. They required a service call to check for leaks before filling the tank but filled the tank without my knowledge prior to the service call. They did not cancel the unnecessary call but charged for it. Worst of all, their employees either do not have the authority to talk to me or refuse to return my numerous phone calls. read more

They also charge $17 extra delivery charge, and deliver too often to collect that fee.When I complained, they let me run out twice in a row. This is a badly run, overly expensive company. There is a good reason this company has poor reviews. I moved into a home and took over the previous owners account since this was the easiest thing to do. There were two 120lb (I believe) propane tanks on the property. From the start, this company did the opposite of what was asked. In the middle of winter they decided to change us from a three week delivery to a three month delivery. Since my entire house runs on propane I nearly ran out. The drivers aren't capable of driving their truck down a two vehicle driveway and drive through the front yard, leaving large tire tracks. Since my tanks were leased, I decided to find a reputable company to purchase a tank and supply me with propane. I had a larger tank buried by another company and waited for the two smaller tanks to run low before switching over to the new tank. I monitored the gauge two or three times a week until the tanks were down to 25%. I then notified my new company and had them switch the tanks over. It was my understanding from speaking with AG&WC that since the tanks were leased from them, they were responsible for the maintenance. This may or not be true, but it was what I was told. I contacted AG&WC to pick up the tanks after I no longer was using them and was informed I would be compensated for the propane which was still in them. Well, after waiting two months for a refund check or some kind of receipt or acknowledgement, I contacted them and spoke with Brenda. She informed me the tanks were empty when they were returned and because of that they waived the $60 return fee. I asked how that could be when the gauge showed they were 25% full and she said the gauge may have been broken. I find that odd since it worked perfectly up until the tanks were removed and it was their responsibility to maintain it to make sure it was working. Needless to say, I doubt I will ever see any refund from this company and I doubt anyone else will either. This company nickel and dimes everything. They have the highest charges around and their delivery fee is over three times higher than the new company I'm going with. Just as Ellen A. stated, they will charge you for their mistakes. Do yourself a favor and save the headache, go with another company. A quick internet search can make you life so much easier. read more

This company is terrible. Their Customer Service is awful. Their online bill pay schedules payments but never takes them, so then they blame you for non-payment and refuse to acknowledge their own system flaws. Asking for a manager is a joke. You get transferred all over the place and eventually dumped into a voicemail. I've left over 10 voicemails for "management", sent a letter and an email, and still have not received a response. When I had a new company come out, they could not beleive the outdated system I had in my house. They said that system had not been "current" for over 15 years---and it had only been 5 years since AGWC installed it. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I have been using Arundel Gas for propane since moving into my home in Davidsonville in 2006. Over the past 8 years I have had a few occasions to call their customer service when my payment was not cashed timely and they charged me a late fee. I disputed the late fee as I mailed the payment within plenty of time. Each time I had to call, their customer service was cold and rude. The last straw came this week when I discovered that I had no propane when attempting to light my cooktop to make dinner. I contacted Arundel Gas the next day to inquire as to why I would have run out of propane when I am on auto-delivery service. Another rude customer service person indicated that my account had been suspended because I had deducted the approx. $2.30 discount from my last payment (8/2013) but they did not receive my payment in time to honor the discount. The CS person said several notices had been mailed to me. I assured her that had they sent me a notice regarding a payment due in the amount of $2.30, I would have made the phone call long before 2/2014. She proceeded to tell me that many of their customers were running out of propane and that there is a propane shortage. Well Arundel Gas, maybe you should do a better job of allocating the scarce resource you sell so that your customers don't end up running out of gas. I told the lovely CS person to come pick up their tank and cancel my account. They would not be receiving the $2.30 that I discounted from my bill in August and would not be receiving any more $$ from me since they were losing my business.
