I called them late last week and asked for an in-between service due to do many spiders around my house and in the garage and house entryway. A youngster named Jackson knocked on my door and gave his pest control spiel. We have had a service for decades, but before I told him that, I asked if he'd had noticed the "No Trespassing" and "No Solicitors" sign behind him. He chose to argue with me claiming that proceeding on to my door from the sign was not trespassing and that they were trained to ignore all signs. I told him to leave and he seemed to walk off. Before I called the company, I decided to check. He was stopped between my car and my boat doing something. I told him to get off my property and he opted to continue arguing with me. I called the listed location in Carrollton and the person answering did not know the names of the door to door folks, but said he would pass the information along to the managers. read more

They ignored both of my no soliciting signs, rang the doorbell 3 times, pounded on the door, and rang the doorbell three more times. They woke up a daysleeper in the house, freaked out my skittish animals, and woke my 10 month old baby. I have been a customer with the company for going on 6 years going back to when it was Anthem Pest Control. Overall I have had virtually no complaints and the service has been good enough that I haven't been tempted to go through the hassle to switch. That being said recently they called to schedule the free and optional consultation where they check for termites that it seems they treat as a separate service that is available for customers to choose from and that is where I had a serious issue prompting this review. After someone from Aruza came out to do the termite inspection of the house they let me know that while they didn't find any signs of termites there were signs of rodent burrowing in our insulation in the attic. Overall he said that if it wasn't addressed soon we were going to be at risk of an infestation in the near future but that we were catching it somewhat early but they rodents had been at it for at least 5-6 months already. To seal up the entry points and do a complete removal and reinstall of insulation was going to cost over $13k. we went up into the attic and he showed me the burrows in the insulation and said that there were droppings out of sight that he was able to find. I will admit out of apprehension of what I would see when he showed me the burrows I didn't go directly up to them and look into or down the holes thinking something might jump out at me. So we go ahead and prepare to go through with the project but I wanted to get a second opinion due to the price. The pest control person we called out for a second opinion was a guy with over 40 years in the business and I took him up to the attic and explained what the initial diagnosis was. After looking at the burrows in our insulation he concluded that the burrows in our insulation were made by someone sticking their arm into the material. this time around I looked into the "burrows" and shined a light and could see they were in fact only forearm deep and even still had individual finger impressions that were left behind. The fact that one of their employees would come into our home and fist the insulation a few times and attempt to charge over $13k for it has made it impossible to trust this company or how the go about their business read more

I am very disappointed in this company! I am a 70 yr old woman that was bamboozled by their sales team telling me that it would only cost me $50 for treatments every 3 months. What they failed to tell me is that it is $50 per month or $600 per yr and treatment would be every 3 months..... something I would have never agreed to. Then they send me a contract and when I ask about the condition s I am told "it's what we've just went over. Now I'm stuck in a contract I did not want or that I did not agreed to! Buyers beware! Horrible company. My last pest control company I had no problems with birds. Then I switched to Anthem they never give a time theyre coming. You literally have to tell them what you paid for other wise they will spray that watered down ass bug spray. I specifically asked that my outdoor ceilings be cleaned of webs and my traps changed, every TIME. Well I have a whole ass barn sparrow nest, a protected bird in texas that laid eggs on my patio, with a beautiful view that I cant enjoy bc they swoop down low. They came to my house for an untimed appointment, didnt sweep anything these pics are literally 10 mins after my credit card was charged. I have to cancel my Labor day family plans bc I have a bird infestation and I want ALL my money back since I cant enjoy my family in our favorite spot! read more

DO NOT go with this company. The sales guy told us our monthly service would include mosquito sprays and that we could call anytime for a tech to come back out to respray. I reiterated this multiple times because mosquitos were our main concerns. I called and the guest service told me that's not the case and that we would have to pay an extra $30 a month for that service. We have only had one spray and they made us pay $320 to cancel our service. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. there are many other reputable pest control companies out there that does the same thing for way less. read more

I want to be clear, I am not one of those reviewers that just loves to come here and complain. Frankly, I'd rather compliment. However, my experience with Anthem has been so poor-- here I am. I'll try to keep it simple: They came out, did the pitch. Offered a decent discount. I specifically asked about Termite Services, which cost EXTRA to install all the detectors, PLUS the ONGOING charges for this specific service. Well,They quietly updated their contract terms. They eliminated the Termite services completely- blaming it on the Aquisition, merger, whatever. I did not realize this was the case- but I started investigating, as I did not see a reduction in bugs- and the Termite stations didn't look like anyone had touched them since they were installed. Then, we tried to drop them- citing all these failures on their part. They wanted a cancellation fee, which my partner paid just to make them go away. They still kept charging- in fact, they kept coming out (which was amazing as I didn't see them until I tried to cancel!!) and overlapped with our new provider. CRAZY. Well today we cancelled again- and this time paid what they called an EXIT fee?! RIDICULOUS. All I can tell you is STAY AWAY from this company. They have ZERO customer care or concern. Frankly, I will probably report them to the State of Texas and ask they be investigated. It's that bad. When I mentioned it he said "yeah I seen it", also proceeded to lie about all my neighbors having roaches. I spoke to several after and they stated they never told him that and they mentioned they had their own pest control person through their landlord which I know. Was very pushy regarding needing to sign up today as the sale ends tonight. But what he failed to realize, I'm the daughter of a salesperson and a mother to a salesperson. And someone who pushes this hard is seriously lying. Which is exactly what he did. None of my neighbors are experiencing an influx in bugs, nor as I, nor are they a customer of theirs. Andy excised the many spider webs and wasps nests around all around the house eaves and under exterior porches. I am impressed with the excellent service we have received over the years. When they came to my door, I was told that there was no contract. But I'm unhappy with the service and I called them. They tell me I'm on a contract and it will cost 200+ to cancel. After six months, I shouldn't be seeing spiders and wasps and fleas and mosquitoes and flies...... I can't even walk out my front door without getting bit up by mosquitoes!!! They half azz spray the perimeter of the house. I followed him around the yard today to make sure that it got sprayed properly. He informed me they only do a three point and that was all he was going to do. Nothing above and beyond. Would give them zero stars if I could. Anthem came to spray my neighbors house and during their visit, I heard my outside water running. Then I see a man standing right outside my bathroom window. Sure enough, it was the anthem pest control guy filling up his water tank with my water hose to spray not my house but my neighbors. Furious bc I was just finishing up a shower, and this man standing right outside my window, I quickly ran out to confront him and his response was, that he needed water to do his job. Considering all the recurring charges they charge people monthly, you would think they'd at least supply their team with the water they need to spray their paying clients homes. I had pest control with another company and never once did they ever use my water to spray my house for a service I paid them for. In fact the other company drove around with huge water tanks in the back of their trucks. The other company came fully prepared and supplied everything they needed to fulfill their services they were being paid to perform unlike Anthem who takes your money and then wants their customers or in my case the neighbors of their customers to pay for their supplies. read more

Worst service ever! I called their office to schedule an appointment to have a routine service performed, upon answer I was greeted with a rude tone and attitude. While speaking with the representative I had to repeat myself 30 times because they were half ass listening. When I made it a point to bring to their attention I was called a bitch because I was interfering with their work. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told to fuck off and I would be seen on 5/22 when the technician arrived he said he would do what was needed for me and just sat in his truck for 45 minuets and said he finished service. I've had them for 4 months now and haven't seen one difference! They would show up, never knock and then say they already serviced the house. I would literally have to wait by the door to make sure I catch them before they just spray my front door and leave. Called to cancel, and guess what, of course they charge a $270 fee for cancelling. The sales man who sold me on this fed me a whole lot of BS that in reality... isn't anywhere near what they offer. Just got off the phone and to break my contract... they want more money. Well, let's talk about the "six" services myself and my four neighbors have gotten. There's no contact day of of service. There isn't any "full" service UNLESS you request it. So you're basically paying full price for a 1/10 of the job because no one wants to knock? I have a lock on my gate - so there's no way I've been serviced SIX times. If so, thank you for spraying the three bushes in my front yard but ignoring the other 98% of my yard and home. Had a tech out this morning. Saw him in my yard for maybe five minutes and then he was gone... a ghost. I'm home - obviously I want my inside serviced. Even told him, "let me know when you're ready to come in - I can put the animals away...". Not sure where he ended up but it certainly was NOT in my house. Good job, Anthem. 9.10.23 Update...Its been almost a year, and i was really afraid ppl would call me crazy but at this point i honestly dont care. I have caught severl of them around late nigh5 with containers one dropped them on himself, got em on video. A group of us saw them on bikes with a green wagon. And most recently they, i assume, used a drone because it hit my window. They have caused me a few trips to the ER because they sprayed pharamones through my window and i was inside my room and became unable to breath. These people have attacked my neighborhood for over a year with their lab roaches. I posted this in hopes to help someone else because this is an unprovoked attack on my family as the pest control i use works and has worked for many years. I find it unfair that you create a problem to solve when people tell you no. I will continue to post until you stop attacking my family causing us to be sick. ** A guy came to my door, made an offer I told him no after a series of questioning. I told him I had trouble with ants. Either way I chose not to use the service. I have been battling roaches suddenly after encountering them...good thing I was raised in the country and I can get rid of them on my own. Not to mention, I asked him to take my payment before he left but he said no, I was good. This company is BAD, period. I contracted with them for 1 year service. They would come on a quarterly basis and just treat the outside of the house. The problem we had was on the inside of the house, namely the garage. Then at the end of 1 year, they charged my credid card again, even though we were not happy with their service. Somewhere in the agreement, there is an automatic renewal provision which I did not know or was told. I asked for a refund 2 days after the unauthorized service and they wouldn't give it to me. I had Anthem for over a year with no issues. Last week I had a new tech out. I left messages but I will likely be canceling my contract solely due to my experience last week. I told the tech about the infestation of ants in my front yard and backyard, and around my downspout. She did nothing to treat them, they remain. Anthem is supposed to re-service next week but that's not the bigger issue. The much bigger issue is that when I pointed out the ants in my front garden mulch, instead of spraying like the previous guy she dumped TONS of white powdery product all over my mulch! I've watered three times and the pictures you see below are after THREE waterings! I can't get rid of it. So far I've had to pull three dead frogs, and this morning a dead baby bunny out of the garden . Btw, the product they use IS harmful to small mammals in large quantities (do not take my word, do your research). I was also told small animals can mistake these granules for food. Today I spent 45 minutes manually watering my garden and still cannot wash it all in. I've reached out and will update. Update-someone from Anthem called me and told me the product used, apologized for the incident, and told me a different tech would be out to re-service my yard. The apology was appreciated but I am still very shaken up from having to get the dead baby bunny out of my front yard, hide the entire incident from my children, etc. The second tech sprayed instead of using the granules. I may keep the contract until it runs out because I do not want to pay additional fees and I can tell they are not the type of company to negotiate without a protracted battle, which I have no time to engage in. But I will be contracting with a different company once this contract expires. FYI: The price I am paying is $117 per quarter. read more

A guy walking door to door convinced me to use them. I said I only would do the mosquito spraying. Told me he would spray through October for the set rate. The spraying was good and it helped a lot. I paid with a credit card. After each time they sprayed I would get an email saying they would charge my card on file. For October, I reschedule to another time. However I still got an email saying they were charging my card on file. I called them and stated they should not do that because they have not sprayed yet. ANTHEM told me that I was on a billing cycle and that they would be billing my card through the following year even though they would not be spraying. I explained this was not the agreement described by the guy who sold it to me. They me sorry, I signed the agreement and that was it. I told them to cancel me. The quality is far below standards even after a second attempt. When cancelling due to the companies lack of responsiveness and performance challenges, they are trying to say I owe nearly 300 to get out of contract which is unacceptable. I advised that they should not attempt to charge my card on file for services they are unable to provide because I would need to report as fraud. Do not sign anything with this company. Try calling their main line first and see how well they answer their phones. Test their products with a one time service during busy bug season to experience this first hand. I was sold one thing & given another. I left my previous pest control company because Anthem told me they would do my entire yard, rather than the 30 ft Moxie did. Moxie did what I was sold. When Anthem came out I was told they were going to do 6 feet, 3 up the side of my house & 3 ft out from my house. I blew a gasket. When I had called to schedule it I told the young lady what I needed & she agreed to set it up. I spoke to the young man who sold me this bill of goods & he told me that's what they were supposed to do. So I'm going back to my old company. At least they don't LIE. read more
