We have been coming to this cleaners for about a month now. The service is great. The manager is a very customer service oriented woman and she is professional. They gave my husband a welcome package when he joined. It had a lot of great treats, Tide Pen, coupons for businesses in the area and I believe a sewing kit. This is great customer service. Thanks! The clothes do not have that human odor (dead skin cells smell) when you get them back. They smell fresh and dry cleaned from well sanitized equipment. We appreciate that they clean their equipment well and regularly. There is a great alterations station here as well. It is set up very professionally with the threads, machines, and supplies that an alterations business uses. The tailor who does the alterations is customer service oriented. I highly recommend this cleaners and alterations business. They also have a self service dry cleaning kiosk for drop off orders. read more

I have been an Arya customer for years (very specifically went to the Eastlake Pkwy location next to Vons for years and now i know why) THIS SPECIFIC LOCATION IS RIDICULOUSLY for providing it customers with such heavy charges WITHOUT WARNING. ANYWAYS, my fiancé and I needed to have his Police Uniform altered ASAP due to a last minute request from the Police Chief for an upcoming job interview. Ultimately, he needed his uniform altered ASAP because it was too big on him. THIS ARYA LOCATION felt the need to charge him $175 for tailoring !!! NOT EVEN MY WEDDING DRESS ALTERATIONS COST THAT MUCH THIS IS SIMPLY RIDICULOUS!!!! Yes, in their defense, we needed the uniform altered as a rush order within 48 hours (could have dropped it off 72 hours prior but there alteration lady "called in sick" even though we went to two different Arya locations 72 hours prior to make an extended effort to drop it off beforehand) I AM EXTREMELY EXTREMELY UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED IN THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRICING. I brought a dress here to be dry cleaned and had a pretty frustrating experience. When I dropped it off, no one told me the price in advance. I assumed it would be a standard, reasonable dry-cleaning cost. However, when I got the notification that my dress was ready for pickup, the charge was almost the same price as the dress itself. I was really surprised by how expensive it was, especially since the price was never communicated beforehand. If I had known it would cost that much, I definitely would have taken it somewhere else. I've brought my husbands work clothes to this location a few times and it's always been ready before or on time. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and they do a great job. My son needed some alterations done on a suit and we walked in and the guy who does the alterations was really friendly. He came out from the back to help us, but we were interrupted by a rude customer who was literally screaming. So we just waited while he did his best to calmly handle the situation. Once he was ready to help us he apologized and was extremely honest and helpful. He was honest about what could be done and couldn't be done to the suit. I appreciate his honesty, and I'm so glad he didn't just go ahead and do the alterations just to gain business. Will definitely recommend this place for both alterations and dry cleaning. read more

ARYA CLEANERS sent me a text for a Black Friday 40% discount on all items dropped off for cleaning on that day. I took advantage of the offer. I went to pick up my items today and the discount wasn't applied. I pointed this out to the clerk and she asked if I had shown my coupon when I dropped it off. I told her it was not a coupon it was a text offer and I showed it to her. She said I was supposed to have shown that text at the time of drop off. I told her that the text did not say that and the clerk did not ask if I had a coupon. She just smiled and said I should have shown it to her. I asked her how I was supposed to know if it's not indicated anywhere. She just smiled again and said I should have shown her the offer. Wow! I wonder how many other people were ripped off by this "offer." Update: The owner called me and apologized for the way the transaction was handled. He corrected the error. Don't do your dry cleaning here unless you wanna do a wild goose chase for your suit. I dropped off my two piece suit in the kiosk and was told I can pick it up on Wednesday. It is now Friday and my suit is at another location after I was told I can pick it up today. There system has flaws and needs to be updated. This is an addition to the review above. I went back to finally pick up my suit and rather than being greeted with a sorry or some kinda of compensation for trying to find my suit. I was greeted by being questioned as to why I left the review above. On top of that I was told it was the clients fault when the clothing gets turned in a different phone number than previous cleanings. Definitely last time I used this place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Front desk lady was no help in the situation. read more

I took my white trench coat to this cleaner for the first time. My coat was stain pretty badly for a week and this was the first time I used dry cleaning. Honestly, they did a pretty good job cleaning it - inside and outside. I went back to this place just recently to have it clean again but only the inside. My coat only had sweat stains for 2 days versus the first time I came where the stains were there for a week. However, this place couldn't clean the sweat stains thoroughly this time. The stains are still there. I asked why at the counter when they did it fine the first time. The lady said she did send it back on inspection but whatever service they used couldn't get it out. I pointed out that they were able to do it the first time and she just gave me a shrug, saying they can't do more. This doesn't make sense to me. I had to paid the same price as the first time yet this was an unacceptable job. I dropped off my coat on Monday and I told them "no rush, I can pick it up on any weekend." I get notified on Wednesday (same week, so it's only been 2 days) that it was done. I wish they took longer to give it care. It's a shame, but I'm not coming back to this cleaner. read more

Wow. I wish I would've read the ratings before coming here. DO NOT make the mistake I did and bring your clothes here. My custom made suit coat for my wedding was completely ruined and the shop refuses to take responsibility for it. I brought my suit in for a cleaning and it came out with a massive hole in the collar. The manager told me "I don't know what to tell you" and agreed that I should take it back to Suit Supply to see if they could fix it. Suit Supply patched the collar the best they could but the collar is basically ruined. I went back to the store to see how they would compensate me for the damage, even though my wedding jacket is irreplaceable, and they said since I brought it somewhere else, they couldn't do anything about it. After they told me to bring it somewhere else! I brought the jacket in with no hole and they returned it to me with a hole and their only comment is that "it couldn't have happened". Well, it did. Had a bad experience here. They have problems with their front counter staff. The lady in front tried to charge me twice for items that I already paid for. I dropped off 6 items to get altered. When I went to go pick it up, only 4 items were done. They even didn't know where my pants were. Armando went o get 2 pairs in the back & asked me if they were mine. And yes, they were. I paid for six, but they put the pants not altered back in the system. Gave me a paid ticket, which I I think it says paid. When I went to pick up my pants, I gave the lady, who was new, didn't know their POS system, and couldn't speak English fluently, the paid ticket. I also had a skirt to get dropped off. So she charged me $30 dollars thinking it was a pre-payment for the skit, which she said yes. But she was charging me for the pants that I had already paid for. I returned to pickup my skirt & she tried to charge me $30. I told her I already paid for it. She could not comprehend what she did. Good thing the owner & manager was there. Even Armando, who was there 3 times, acted like he didn't know anything and didn't not interject. After repeating my self to the owner/manger several times, she finally said that we were even and saw that I did pay. I'm uploading the original receipt and the paid ticket/stub for the pants. Although Armando is a good tailor, I will not going back to this location because of the woman at the counter and her lack of customer service and training. I gave them plenty of time to fix their wrong and still have not been contacted so I want to leave this here for anyone thinking about using ARYA cleaners! received an email August 28th with a Labor Day 25% off "entire order no exclusions" coupon so I took my items to Arya Cleaners H St location. Sylvia couldn't give me a price for cleaning so she said she would call me. She did call back and left me a voicemail stating it would be $85 I called back and said that's fine and asked her to apply the promotion. She mumbled something about how I should have showed her the coupon when I dropped off the items, but I reminded her she couldn't give me a price at drop off so how could I have applied a promotion. She agreed and said she would apply the promotion on August 31st. The following Tuesday I went to pick up my clothing and was extremely overcharged. $100.03. A couple items are listed incorrectly on one of my receipts I was charged for a "lined sequin blazer" when it was a short sleeve sequin button up. As well as "large sequin sport jacket" when the label says medium. Basically they overcharged me to replace the 25% discount and on top of that they tipped themselves. read more

Absolutely furious right now! Let me start by saying that I've been to this location a handful of times, and not once did I feel the pricing was outrageous. But I just recently dropped off a few items and got the email stating my items were ready and then got hit with the total cost! Outrageous! I called today for a breakdown - since some items belong to my bf - and I am seriously SO disappointed and never going back to this place! Here is what i dropped off: I requested that 5 of my jackets that were folded in storage be ONLY pressed. 1 pair of jeans that were missing a button. 1 little girls dress be dry cleaned. 1 pair of jeans be dry cleaned. 2 flannel shirts be dry cleaned. Total cost $120!! When I requested the breakdown, they informed me that each of those jackets that needed just pressing, cost me $11.73 BECAUSE THEY NO LONGER OFFER ONLY PRESSING, so they charged me $1 cheaper than had I requested full dry cleaning services. When I asked the person on the phone why this was NOT disclosed to me at the time of me requesting this service, she told me that it is MY responsibility to ask these questions and that since I am not a FIRST TIME client, that I should be fully aware of their changes. Also, that I could've always ASKED first OR checked ONLINE before giving them my garments. Now the button they put on for me - around $20!!! That little girls dress - $17!!! Insane! DO NOT USE ANY OF THEIR LOCATIONS! I should have read the reviews first. I took 2 silk shirts to be dry cleaned. I asked them to rinse one out because I mistakenly put liquid soap on it. Not the first time I have made this mistake in 40 years of wearing silk shirts. Every other Dry Cleaner tod me to always tell them to rinse the shirt prior to the dry cleaning process. I asked them to do so. I get the shirts back with tags on them that they could not take the stain out. They told me the could not rinse the shirts due to them being silk even though there are washing instructions on the tags. Then they would not give me the shirts back unless I paid them. (Shirts were approximately $250 each.) I went to their main location with the shirts and was lectured on how he has been doing this for 30 years and there is no way dry cleaning can take out soap. And there was no way anyone could fix it. Here were my questions to him: 1) In my 40 years of wearing silk shirts why have others been able to correct this mistake in the past. A) none. 2) Now the dry cleaning process has permanently stained the shirts how are you going to fix it? A) in my 40 years of doing dry cleaning this is impossible to fix. 3) Again I asked, how did others clean the soap out them? A) again, no answer. 4) In your 40 years experience then why did you try to clean them and charge me for ruining the shirt? A) none 5) why didn't you do as I asked and rinse them first. A) We don't do that. Your choice your risk. It might be worth coming back to San Diego for small claims. They were happy to keep the shirts and/or take my money. read more

I read reviews of this place and what stuck to me was some people get charged extra upon pickup. I thought I'd give them a chance but hey let me tell you. They definitely upcharged me. Got quoted $80 for two pieces for alterations. Was ready in 4 days and the new total was $103. They claim they told me that i wanted dry press which the conversation didnt even come up about dry press. However, they did ask if i wanted them to be dry cleaned i said no, just alterations. They said next time we will be clearer and gave me $5 off. Unfortunately I will not be coming back. And now I look at my clothing, there is a big crease mark. Claiming they NEEDED to dry press it. Items were brand new and wasn't wrinkled. Great. 2 starts because the only good thing I can say is that the tailor was nice and helpful with my measurements for the alterations. read more

I am a frequent customer of this place, been coming for years. They know my face. I had a run in with them long ago about not getting priced before I dropped off the clothes and return to an astronomical price where they hold your clothes ransom. It happened again today. This is the second time getting screwed after going there for years. I will never go again. Asked them to send the shirts for laundry. When I went to pick up the shirts they charged me for dry cleaning. Shirts came back looking same dirty and one of them had additional lints on it which weren't there when I dropped off the shirts. I asked them to re do the shirts, upon picking up again I saw the shirts looking exactly how were even those lints were there, to which the lady behind the counter said "they tried!!!".They are so over priced, at this price they should inspect everything before handing it to the customer to make sure the item is spotless. I will even use the flashlight on my phone to inspect throughly. I came with 12 items so maybe you thought its possible get away with some being half assed. I thought I would give them a try, so I included my black sweeter in one of his drop offs (and later a women's suede jacket) both came back smelling like musky, old cologne.. We tried again asking if they could take out the smell and it was returned smelling the same. Gave them a third chance with my blue suede jacket, and the same experience, returned smelling old perfume. (We had to take that to a different cleaner to have the smell removed). read more

These dudes suck - they overcharged me, wouldn't change it, and actually ruined the shirt they overcharged me for. Plus... this place is expensive to begin with. I dropped off 15 standard cotton dress shirts for laundry. They give them back in little batches with a price for each batch. I noticed one batch of shirts was much higher than the rest of them so I asked why. The older guy behind the counter tells me it's because one shirt is silk and has to be dry cleaned, and for some reason they dry cleaned a different shirt. So I pulled the "silk" shirt out and showed him how it was clearly cotton. Then I found holes in the shirt torso and on both elbows - one was substantial. That was a really nice (and expensive) shirt and now I have to throw it out! He didn't come up with a real explanation for the other cotton shirt being dry cleaned at double the cost. I told him how I dropped them off for laundry and there was no basis to do anything else. He just said I need to come back the next day to talk to some lady so they can change it in the system. He also wouldn't price me correctly. So now I have to do something because they screwed up? He's nuts - I'm not going back there anymore. These guys are willing to lose a customer forever over $8. I recently complained to the owner who responded the same day to my email complaint about my uniform collar being constantly buttoned up when in my profile it's been listed to leave open. He credited my account and I returned as a customer. Today I am really disappointed that even when I returned after, I came back to the same mistake of my uniform collar not being left open. When I addressed it with the front desk girl she pretty much told me they can't do what I am asking of them?! What is hard about making sure my collar is not buttoned? A job interview was sprung on me at 9 PM last night, for 11 am this morning. Lo and behold my suit was in a crumpled mess in the closet. I called the business number listed, and spoke with a gentleman who told me that if I brought my suit in to the main branch in Eastlake, at seven AM, he could guarantee the suit would be ready by 10. They had it cleaned, pressed and ready by nine. No nonsense, with the price quoted to me when I'd dropped it off, and I was also informed of the 10% rush fee (WELL worth it, since there are no true one hour cleaners that I could find). The lady who assisted me was super friendly, she wished me luck with an enthusiastic smile as I came out of the dressing room, complemented me, and refused to take a cash tip. The worst customer service experience ever. Do not go here for your laundry services. I brought in two brand new pairs of trousers that needed to be hemmed and both of them came back to me with the zippers broken. I called them and asked if they would fix it and they said I could bring it in. It takes me 20 minutes to drive there and she tells me that their "new age" laundry cleaning system doesn't break zippers because it cleans "around" the trousers. WTF? If you weren't going to fix it then WHY would you have have me drive there after I called you. Not only that but they give new clients a discount for their laundry service which wasn't even offered to me (it's an ongoing discount). When I bring that to her attention she said that it's too late but if I pay extra to get the zipper fixed my next service would have the discount. WTH. Seriously, find a better and more reliable laundry service with A+ customer service. Don't deal with this shady franchise. read more

I never knew that dry cleaning can get so fancy-schmancy! After reading the first and only review, I was pretty apprehensive. Unfortunately, I needed to get my dress and jacket dry-cleaned by the next day, as I somehow found myself as my mom's escort to a wedding reception. Strangely enough, my dad had to work and my brother and sister were CONVENIENTLY out of town. Huh. Sucks to be me. Anywho...with dress and jacket in hand, I walked up to the ATM like window. I inserted my credit card and started my process through setting up a new customer account. It was fairly simple. That is, until it asked me if I needed to starch my jacket. Uuuuhh...I don't know? Apparently, I took too long in trying to figure out the answer and, in an ATM like fashion, it kept beeping and asked if I needed more time. You know, that annoying, incessant beeping.... OF COURSE, I NEED MORE TIME, DAMMIT! STOP BEEPING AT ME! Arrrgh, the pressure!! I eventually decided to not get starch, relieved that the beeping had stopped and the machine didn't self-destruct. If this were an ATM machine, I'm sure people would have thought that I was trying to rob it. When given, I took my receipt and was confident that I'll get my jacket by the end of the day. Well, not that confident, I kept my fingers crossed. Four hours later, I get a call from a friendly lady, who stated she's from Arya's Cleaners. She told me that my dress was ready for pick up, but my jacket needed more time. She told me that it will be ready the next day, after 1pm. I then asked if I could pick up both the dress and the jacket, at the same time. She said she'll make sure that they'll be together. All in all, I was satisfied with their service. Though it took me a while, the kiosky was easy to use. But, there is something to be said about a lack of a face to talk to. There is a telephone you can pick up, if you needed to talk to customer service; but, it's not the same. If you need something as simple as just strictly dry cleaning, this is a perfect solution. We paid extra to have it ready by Thursday before prom on Saturday. Of course, it wasn't ready! Then, when we picked it up and my daughter put it on, they took the train completely off the dress! That was the best part of the dress! Not only did they change the dress for the worse, the hem job was not even!
