However, today my experience was very disappointing. They have a new front desk clerk Tamera (She refused to provide her last name or last initial). She was incredibly rude and dismissive towards me. I was asking simple questions about how much a service would cost me. Part of her role is to answer customer questions and remedy concerns. I was trying to ascertain how they got the figures. I was met with unwarranted eye rolling and snide remarks under her breath. Her behavior was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Prayerfully, her behavior is corrected as I am not sure I want to patronize this location in the off chance I will have to interact with this employee in the future.

My insurer VSP has a $ 10 copay for eye prescriptions and they do not cover retinal screening. EE is in-network for VSP. Front Office insisted the screening and fee is mandatory. As a matter of principle I refused to walk away and insisted on speaking to the OD. After a long argument I was given a form where I acknowledged having refused retinal screening and got my prescription done. SO choose to skip this place or be ready for a fight to get your $ 39 waived by the good Doctor! Oh yes - he did tell me that if I asked nicely (!) they can easily waive the $ 39 fee. But then you need to complete the long argument with the Front Office first to reach the OD... well .... you choose :-)

I first visited Dr Joseph right before the pandemic, and I just had an appointment with him again…read morelast week. Out of all the businesses I have ever been to, Dr Joseph and his staff provide the single best customer service experience i have ever had. I am not comparing him to another optometrist, I truly mean any business. Dr Joseph is incredibly kind and helpful. While performing my eye exam, every question/concern I had (which was several) was happily answered and explained in a way that I could easily understand. I never felt like he was rushing to end my appointment. He kept making adjustments until i had the best possible outcome. When he was looking at the photo of my eye, I asked if he could explain what he was looking at. He gladly described to me everything that he was looking at, and what exactly that means for my vision. When it was time to pick out my frames, I was the most indecisive I have ever been in my life. The kind woman at the front desk came over to see if I needed any help, and I asked if he she would give her opinion on some of the frames I was thinking about. She gave some great advice and helped me narrow down my choices. I was still a bit unsure, so I asked Dr Joseph if he would share his opinions on the few that i had. He sat down with me and shared, in his opinion, the pro's and con's of each pair. He did not try to up-sale me on an expensive pair. He truly wanted me to choose the pair that I felt was best for me. If you are like me, and are looking at every optometrist within 50 miles for the perfect choice, stop now and go see Dr Joseph. You will not receive a better eye exam or customer service experience anywhere.

While browsing, staff watched me closely, making me feel like a potential thief rather than a customer. It was frustrating and left a poor first impression. Pros: Acknowledged walk-ins exist. Cons: No proactive scheduling option or follow-up. Uncomfortable, watchful atmosphere. Lacked warmth and welcoming service. Suggestions: offer future-appointment options, greet customers, explain wait times, and create a friendlier, more inviting environment.
