Decent sized portions unless compared to Chipotle (for the same price). Friendly and fast service. Clean environment and kitchen - though recently opened.) Dessert offerings: biscotti. Overall - if you're in a pinch the Taco's and the burrito were adequate but if you have 5 additional minutes go wait in the line at Chipotle. read more

This is a new place on Lake and Wells. First impression from the outside is that it looks to be smaller but similar to Adobo Grill. Once you walk in, it's very plain and feels almost empty. Seating for only about 15 or so with a very limited menu. I ordered the Chicken Tacos and guacamole/chips. Good portions but very bland tasting. I had to put on both hot sauces available at the table on the tacos for flavor. The quac is tasteless and chips have no salt. Owner is very nice and even stopped by our table to take our trash. Saw this place when i was aimlessly walking around trying to decide what to get for lunch. figured i should give it a try instead of going to the usual Chipotle. It made me miss Chipotle! The space is clean and there was a good crowd dining in so I thought that was a good sign. I ordered the chicken Asada bowl thinking it would be similar to the chipotle burrito bowl given the description on the menu. but it was so NOT! The ingredients seemed canned and the flavor was a bit off. I am not sure exactly what the taste was, but it definitely was not good. A coworker suggested I try it so I did (3 different tacos: chicken, vegetarian and tilapia) and I like that it isn't super greasy, is filling without eating all your calories in one meal and the owner is really nice. This is a great lunch spot in the loop. the best part is that it is extremely clean, they always have specials, and the man at the register (presumably the owner) is so friendly, always thanks you for your business, remembers you, just an overall good experience compared to some other options in the loop. Who doesn't love this place lol So I tried it because someone told me about the tacos. First time I got steak and the 2nd time I went I got 1 steak, 1 chicken, 1 barbacoa. The steak is great, chicken is amazing, and the barbacoa needs like some seasoning or sauce. By the way, the people that work there are super nice, especially the guy that may be the owner who rings you up. Don't forget desert!!!! If you like chocolate cake....oh my goodness get it!!! I can't believe that anyone would give it more then 1 star, they must have been from Alaska and told that's what Mexican food tasted like. I'm 100% Mexican, born in Chicago and raised in Cicero. I know Mexican food. That was disgusting, I would have rather have gone to a TacoBell and pretended it was Mexican for half the price. I understand that 26th St. & 18th St. (predominantly Mexican areas where Mexican restaurants are 3 to a block) are too far to travel for lunch in downtown, but that was just horrible. Asada in Spanish means grilled. The meat was not grilled it was steamed which is really gross and changes the taste of the steak. Now before I get hate mail about it being actually grilled, then maybe it was, HOURS BEFORE then left in some type of steamer (or on the grill in water) to keep it warm. Sad. Other then that the staff was very nice, it was clean and the Pepsi tasted great. But change the name or stop saying it's Mexican food. WOW WOW WOW. Amazing. I found this place by accident. I had a Chipotle craving so I went on a hunt. My GPS was messing up I was going in circles trying to find it, then I just gave up. I walked past this place and I decided to give this place a try. Best decision ever. I got a steak burrito. And that is the best burrito I have ever had, hands down. Such perfection and an explosion of the right flavors. The hot sauce is amazing too. All these years, I have been deceived by Chipotle as to what a burrito should taste like. Blasphemy. I have been to Asada twice and the food is really tasty. The beef quesadilla is my favorite. The meat is very flavorful and tender. The onions are outstanding. The salsa with cilantro, tomatoes and onions is fresh and adds just the right amount of flavor. I really like that they use paper containers for to-go items, very ecologically minded.The owner is a past manager for the Everest Room and is very cordial and welcoming. I think Asada is a good addition to the area restaurants, even though there are other Mexican restaurants nearby. It has plenty of tables, so you don't have to wait for one to become free. It is a place where you can actually speak to and be heard by your luncheon companion(s) despite the proximity to the L tracks. I would have given it another star if there were more salsas to choose from. read more

Best Asada steak tacos everrr! Everything I've tried on the menu was delicious. Barbacoa beef tacos were great too, but steak tacos still my #1. Especially for someone who eats only halal options this place is great and the food is so authentic. After living in Mexico for a few years I finally found a place that reminds me of the same tasty Mexican food. Vegetarian options are great too.
