Meat on the grill/char. Salsas on the side with little to go cups (self serve) as well as other condiments like lemons, etc. Staff was friendly. Wore masks and gloves (which I appreciate). The tortillas are great. Meat was good with a char flavor. Not greasy. Could've used a little bit more salt but it was good. I felt the same way about the salsa's and the grilled onions and jalapeños (which you can get on the side if you'd like). Just could've used a little bit more salt. But that's an easy fix I could do myself. We will definitely be back to try some other things. They have an Instagram. Would love to see a menu with descriptions...like what comes in the burritos? look for a canopy on Plummer and Reseda. Super friendly cashier lady. They take cash, zelle, and apple pay. There was plenty of street parking and almost always a line. Especially on Tuesdays, the line wraps around the street and takes about an hour for $1 tacos. There's different specials on different days of the week. They are very cheap: - Monday $7 torta - Tuesday $1 tacos - Wednesday $7 burritos - Thursday Birria - Sunday $10 plates I got asada taco, al pastor tacos, cabeza taco, and lengua nachos. The al pastor was super salty and the salsas were thin and watery. I did appreciate the lengua was tender, juicy and not gamey. The owners are rude, confrontational and think they own a spot on a public street. And the food isn't so great either.

Finally swung by Asadas tonight and for a Friday at just about 7pm, they were already busy! Sadly this spot has just as many negatives as it does positives. They have a good set up going on and a clear menu. The cashier is sweet and helps you when you have questions. They also had two types of aguas frescas (drinks) horchata and cucumber. I went ahead and ordered some queso tacos with asada and regular tacos with al pastor, all with everything (onions, cilantro, and guac sauce) as well as horchata. They make tortillas on the spot which is fantastic! One of the cooks throws them onto the grill as people order so sometimes orders may take a minute longer. The meat is constantly grilled as is the al pastor, but they have much of the meat already chopped in containers to put on the tacos. They have a small "salsa" area with two salsas, both of which are spicy, I believe a jalapeno based and a habanero based. The habanero tasted way better but was, obviously so much spicier. I do wish they had other heat levels or even a mild so there's one hit on the rating. They also have sliced turnips but you can't see how clean they are in the dark. I got back home and saw that they weren't washed at all and still super dirty. Another downer. Now for the tacos. The tortillas were good but I don't think they are cooked long enough. They do pile on a lot of meat which is good. The queso tacos are fantastic but it depends on what meat you order. They are so cheesy and gooey, so if you love cheese as much as I do, these are a must. Sadly the asada was so fatty that I ended up barely eating two and tossing the rest of the meat from the tortillas. I pretty much ended up eating mini quesadillas with guac sauce. The al pastor has good flavor but it's so dry and much of it is burnt. Another let down with the meat. And I'm not surprised at that because instead of letting the al pastor rotate on the spit with the fire going, it stands still with the flame burning one side at a time. They also didn't add any pineapple to my tacos. With all these taco stands popping up, I was expecting and hoping this would be worth it. The bad: The tacos were not good. All the meats I tried tasted like a dirty grill. The flavors were nothing special. That taste you get on food when you keep reusing the grill without cleaning it. THAT taste was on all the meats. I tried the carne asada, pastor and chorizo tacos. My mistake was not getting the queso tacos but that wouldn't have changed my mind about the meats not being good. Salsas out in the hot hot heat, off ice. The guy making my food had a ripped glove and I could see his greasy finger fingering my food. He didn't touch the money and they have a separate guy for that at least. I said screw it about the gloves because most restaurants raw dog it in the back anyways. But then again...this is a food stand on the street without a running sink and soap on hand. I also got the rib plate to try and the beans and rice that came with the dish were not good. The rice seemed like it was a couple minutes away from being spoiled. The texture and taste were just off. Cash only The good: Tortillas are handmade, on the spot! I would see this stand while driving by all the time, so I thought I'd give it a try. Got two. Burritos one of pastor and one of carne asada and three tacos. First off the burrito taste was plain no flavor on top of that it was cold :/ the rice was hard/ a bit crunchy like it was a day or two old. Same with the carne asada one. The carne asada tacos weren't that good either meat was a bit hard added salsa for flavor but couldn't finish the burrito and tacos. On the plus side the ppl were nice and friendly and their horchata was good. I give them one star just bc of the friendly smiles but their food needs a bit of improvement Maybe wrap the burritos in foil, it'll keep them warmer longer. First timer here! I like their set up, I've been to may tacos vendors in LA and in the valley. By far this is one is my top one. Customer service is great, the agua fresca are good they also have the agua with chamoy and the fruit. I ordered two asada tacos and two tripas tacos. OMG these tacos are to die for. I came here once and it was pretty decent when I drove by when the line was a bit longer. Second experience here... $2 a taco on one tortilla. There was no one in line. Tortillas was cold, stale, semi-hard and chewy. The carne asada was flavorless, cold and dry (you guys could have warmed up the meat at least). Al pastor was dry and at least warmed up. They didn't have pickled carrots, onions or jalapenos, that should be a staple for taco joints. Apparently I had been to this taco stand last year when they used to set up on Nordhoff and Reseda and I remember thinking they were bleh okay. And lately they're on Plummer across from my place and I decided to try them and I loved them! My husband and I have been there at least 4 times in the last 3 weeks. I found them on Instagram and the tacos look good online. I decided to try them because they had guacamole. I was very disappointed! It takes a long time to get your tacos on a none busy night. BEST. TACOS. EVER. 6/5 STARS!!! I've had my fair share of tacos from Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Ensenada (Mexico). Ensenada tacos are king IMO. However, as for what's available for us here "north of the border," and specifically here in the LA area, El Fierno is king and "on fire"! The Al Pastor is by far my favorite and so delicious and juicy. They even add small slices of slightly roasted pineapple to garnish and balance the spices of the Al Pastor. They now even make handmade corn tortillas! The size is generous enough and they don't skimp on the toppings either. The city-wide street-side vending approval/licensing in LA has allowed the owners and staff to flourish and share their winning recipe with the masses. Serving the SFV/CSUN/Pierce community, their 1st site is located on Reseda north of Nordhoff adjacent to the Big 5 and on the sidewalk. Their 2nd site (opened as of 10/10/19) is located in the small lot of the express car wash on Reseda north of Oxnard (go inside and say hi to Jose and pick up an air freshener LOL)..... Look for the red canopy and fresh Al Pastor rotating on the vertical spit! They usually get set up about 7-730pm and are open late until about 1am on weekdays and about 3am on weekends (all dependent on the turnout). They're mulitas are amazing as well! read more
