One of my absolute favorite places in town and somewhere I've been coming to for years. Anna D's is such a gem in Portsmouth. Ruby is an absolute pleasure. She is always happy, smiling and genuinely kind. Alongside Marco, they're doing a fantastic job and constantly coming up with new ideas for the space. You can really feel the love and pride they put into the business. I love the keto bagel. It's great as is, but Ruby suggested trying it toasted with avocado and now I'm hooked. It's perfect. I always grab one when I stop in, along with their croissants which are always delicious, buttery, and flaky. While the croissants aren't gluten free, there are so many other options that are, and I really appreciate that they always ask whether it's an allergy or a preference. That level of care matters. I can't wait for warmer weather to check out the farmers market and enjoy more of their amazing ice cream too. Thank you for being such a solid, welcoming local business. I have always loved Anna Ds everything is made so fresh and delicious - there's a cool rustic beach kind of atmosphere going on where you'll find tourists and locals alike enjoying their meals here! I usually get the Roast beef hero and perhaps if I had done that it would've been 5 stars but I did go off on a culinary adventure and tried the lobster BLT. They gave a ton of lobster and good amount of bacon. My only complaint was the excessive mayonnaise used - which some people like, just not me. Stopped by Anna D's Cafe and overall had a really nice experience with just a small hiccup at the start. Our initial service wasn't the best...the young lady at the front mistakenly entered our coffee orders as iced. When we mentioned they were supposed to be hot as ordered, she rolled her eyes, which felt a little unnecessary, especially since we caught it right away and it was an easy fix. Thankfully, the rest of the staff completely shifted the experience. Everyone else was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made a big difference. The vibe was exactly what you want in a café...cozy, relaxed, and perfect for catching up, working, or enjoying a slow morning. The food was definitely the highlight. I loved the BLT! It was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The vanilla chai was good. My son was obsessed with the ham and cheese croissant, which is always a win for a mom outing. Overall, a great spot with delicious food and a nice café atmosphere. One service moment kept it from being a full 5 stars, but I'd absolutely come back and recommend giving it a try. read more

My friend suggested we go grab lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. She said they had solid wraps and sandwiches and she didn't lie! These were good wraps. You know when you are wanting something and you order and it just hits the spot? This was it. Inside is very cute and they have a huge menu of drinks, wraps, paninis, sandwiches, and breakfast all day?! Sign me up. Staff were very friendly. Not a ton of indoor seating if it was busy but there is some outdoor tables for when the weather is nicer. Upon walking in, there are a few seated tables to the left and a few high tops to the right. All the tables are fairly spacious. Self seating and order at the counter. They have a good variety of baked goods. Everything looked really fresh tasty. They have drink specials (lattes). We ordered D'S Country Breakfast (comes with sausage, bacon, toast and home fries), egg and cheese on English, blueberry pancakes (very fluffy and plenty of blueberries), and Sunny Toast (with avocado and there's vegemite spread on the toast). They also have cold pressed juice made to order. We got the Healthy Heart (carrot, apple, ginger). Great spot where all the locals go and for people that are visiting the area. read more

Anna D's is the place to be! Sneakily residing in Portsmouth in a small little shopping area, we have passed by Anna D's multiple times but never stopped- until we did! The coffee is delicious, lunch is great with a plethora of options, and the ice cream is drool worthy! The kids at the counter we super nice. I had a tuna panini and can't believe I ate the whole thing- it was huge, but also REALLY good. We followed up lunch with ice cream on the other side and we were not disappointed! Such a wonderful local vibe. The menu is expansive, they have all kinds of breakfast/lunch options, and many dessert, pastry and smoothie choices. They make the best keto/gluten feee bagel I have had yet on the island. I seriously crave it sometimes!! Service is great in terms of the employees are kind and personable, but not the best in terms of speed. I think that's their only down fall. I would come nearly daily if I didn't expect to be there for at least 15-20 minutes. Even when I have just ordered a coffee and a to go item, speed is just not anna d's strong suit. They have improvised a nice takeout window that does the perfect trick for social distancing. Two words: Order ahead!!! We found this little cafe after taking the kids to the Green Animals Topiary Garden. It looked like the perfect place to have a quick relaxed takeout lunch. We ordered 4 panini's (They were big paninis!) and then proceeded to wait...almost 40 minutes. I went in several times and finally saw a takeout bag! Alas, it wasn't for me, but for someone who had called in their order. That's when the light bulb went off. We also saw a lot of cars come in and out - because they also ordered ahead. After we finally got our lunch and our hangry selves were full, the food was actually pretty good - and huge portions! We also found space on the patio (since we were waiting so long!) and it had a really nice breeze. All in all, good food, but they are BUSY. So, next time, order ahead! Anna's D is a cozy little cafe with quirky decors and has a line up of bake goods that would make your mouth water if you're hungry. Can I have one of each please? Anna's D Lobster Roll- The lobster was so fresh and sweet, I think I was eating this with my eyes closed because it was so unexpectedly fantastic for just a plate at a cafe. There was only chopped celery, romaine, some sort of mayo dressing and squeezed lemon inside this lightly toasted baguette with pickle and chips on the side and boy did that surpass our expectations. Bella Panini- Nicely pressed sandwich with grilled portobello, goat cheese, basil pesto, sun dried tomatoes a little bit of mayo. Yum. Jasmine Iced Tea- Floral notes in my tea? Yes please! What a hidden gem! I need to say that masks are required for entry, but once seated they can be removed. I have gluten and dairy restrictions and this place did not disappoint! The country breakfast was a huge portion and it was delicious! The potatoes were oh so crispy and so was the bacon. They have almond milk for coffee, gluten free bagels, and some frittatas that are gluten free as well. My son loved his fluffy, chocolate chip pancakes. We will be back for sure! read more

I met a good friend there the other day at 11:00. The atmosphere was cozy and the vibe was very pleasant. I took a table by the window, waiting for my friend. I noticed and loved that they had a bulletin board for patrons to post and draw attention to things they cared about. (Why doesn't every venue do this?) My friend came and we ordered lunch fare. I must admit that my expectations were low as I thought of this venue as a "coffee shop plus." Shame on me. We ordered (and shared) a pear/goat cheese salad (with fig dressing that was out of this world) and BLTs. The food was exceptional!!! No complaints of any kind! Coming here brings back memories of my first summer job scooping ice cream at Shiver Me Timbers, connected to the café about 15 years ago. Lots has changed since then, including switching owners. The café is decorated cute and now has an added bar area. I'm intrigued to try a brunch here sometime. They have coffee drinks and espresso drinks which are delicious, but espresso beverages for me are a hard sell since they just hit a button for it to brew espresso beverage. My Nespresso machine offers the same service for half the price. So for me I pass on the espresso beverages here. They do have yummy treats and tons of sandwiches to choose from. These are a great work lunch or a great treat to bring to the beach. Service can be lackluster but maybe that's because I've only seemed to visit when they're busy in the morning or lunch time. Would recommend if looking for a lunch to eat in or take to go. read more

Coming off a summer of ice cream taste testing in NJ and Delaware board walks - I was looking forward to this. They had 4 selections of peanut butter ice cream alone - you'll get overwhelmed with their menu. I tried their soft serve vanilla - this is my go to flavor for sure. It had more of a custardy texture which I was overwhelmed with its beautiful creaminess. This is a great little place to chill out and enjoy a awesome lunch. The staff here is so pleasant . They offer all types of coffee as well. The brownies are to DIE FOR!! Everything is homemade and fresh. Need I say more. Yum It's has a nice size parking lot . There is outside seating .its a great little cafe that always has a warm welcoming to there customers I've experience many of there salads and they have a fig dressing that is amazing and they shared there recipe with me! Good morning! We found Anna D's this morning and have been very impressed. The outdoor seating is perfect today. They have a nice diverse breakfast menu with a burrito and eggs ranchero (both with jalapeños) as well as regular egg sandwiches oatmeal and yogurt parfait muffins and other baked treats. The iced coffee and hot chocolate were great. You have to wait in line and order at the counter then grab a table. Service was quick and the line moves right along. The chips are awkwardly placed right in front of the register and you have to reach over them to pay. Perhaps this helps everyone because chips could've with a lot of the sandwiches so no one forgets. read more

I read some of the other reviews before writing. If you want to call mediocre "average", then do that, but I prefer mediocre. I can understand not giving me a wheat wrap and giving me white by mistake, I can understand steak fries that are mushy, but not when I ordered them well done. My chicken feta wrap was OK, the chicken was cooked, but the flavor was really boring, likely due to whatever dressing might've been on it. Thank God there was feta. I only ate half, and had the free Cheetos instead. I'm having the other half for dinner, and adding my own dressing. It's a shame when your first visit is disappointing. I found the staff very friendly, very nice. I had a cookie that was also very nice; a large peanut butter cookie. And I can reheat the steak fries myself of course. I suppose I would go here again if I was starving. But I was starving when I arrived, so maybe that's not such a good idea. A starving person found it Mediocre what's that say to you?? read more
