I've been eyeing this place since the put a sign out front that they would be coming. The location is so perfect for a bakery and coffee store, and exactly what the hospital district needs. As of today, they had only been open for a week. The interior is bright and clean, with cases and shelves full of freshly baked goodies. I passed by on my way home from work and picked up a brownie, a loaf of sourdough, and a frosted cinnamon babka that I'm going to make French toast with over the weekend. I immediately ate the brownie as I drove home and it was chewy, chocolatey and not too sweet. My husband tore into the sourdough as soon as I walked in the door and devoured a fourth of it on the spot. I'm going to slice and freeze the babka, but if it's anything as good as the others, this weekend will be delicious. The menu is still expanding as they settle into their new space, but they already have pasteries, breads, breakfast sandwiches, fresh drinks and homemade soups. There's easy free parking in front, and their prices are super competitive. I'm super stoked Provencal has made this their new home, and think they will be very successful here! I can't wait to see what the do next with their expanding offerings.

I initially visited on a Tuesday only to discover the doors were locked and subsequently discovered on the bakery's website that it is a temporary situation. I returned on the Thursday following and the doors remained locked. Very disappointing to say the least.

I went in this morning to get a cup of coffee and left ordering a 8" mocha gluten free cake. It was posted for $22 and the lady did a great job selling it to my wife. We just picked up the cake and wow it did not disappoint. The cake itself was very moist for a gf cake and my wife said it really didn't taste like a gf cake and the mocha taste itself wasn't overpowering as well. It just has the right balance. Definitely agree with the other reviews.

Great fresh food. Perfect for lunch. Wonderful baked goods to take home. It's small. There are some outdoor tables.

Currently only open for bread orders. Nothing in the cases. Would try to come back another day after they are no longer short staffed

We had super-friendly and super-efficient service ordering an espresso tonic, chocolate malt float and blood orange hibiscus tea (such a delectable purple-red color!) All three beverages were sipped to the very last drop! Special thanks for also stocking the fridge with bottles of Diet Coke. Not enough cafes/coffee bars offer this soda option and sometimes, a gal has to have her Diet Coke! The Nitro Bar is a cheerful place to sit and since we were fortunate enough to find seating, we decided to share a grilled Asiago bagel and ricotta toast with heirloom tomatoes. Yummy x 2, and just enough snacking to tide the three of us over until a late lunch. We've been to the Nitro Bar on Pond Ave. in Newport and Broadway in Providence -- never disappointed with beverages/food but be prepared to wait In a line most of the time.

It was packed with tiny peppers, and the perfect amount of onion. I was happy with the amount of cheese, others might want more. The English muffin was toasted perfectly with lots of buttery goodness. Home fries were very flavorful, just a few peppers and onions mixed in, perfectly cooked. Fruit was nice and fresh. Then they served our food, but forgot my youngest boys breakfast (which was only pancakes on the kids menu). Then in the middle of him eating his mail while we were waiting she just dropped the check and said no rush instead of just waiting for him to finish up. Lastly, we paid our bill and then the waitress said oh wait I forgot to add your drinks to the check. This was funny because she forgot our drink water, and I had to go up and order our drinks, but yet she did remember at the last second to add them on which was too funny. The food was nothing special, but overall satisfactory. What you really are paying for is the ambience and the view out to the ocean.
