Best dog vet I've ever had! I have an allergy dog with all sorts of challenges and after her horrific treatments at Ashburn Village vet (worst vet I've ever had), this vet was able to relieve her with allergy medications that seem to be doing great. They do not run or charge for unnecessary tests or treatments, focusing specifically on the animal and their needs. My dog also ended up with pancreatitis right before I was going out of town and Dr Jones was committed to caring for her, communicating with both me and my dog sitter, and reached out to support with the issue during closed office hours on weekends to make sure my baby was able to receive care. We're still pretty new to them but on first visit I already had a good feeling. They listened to all of our concerns without cutting us off. They explained the entire process of what they were gonna do and why. They were very patient with our very excited and nervous puppy. They gave us estimates on prices before they did anything. They gave multiple recommendations for different treatment options and a few "what if's" to look at in case the treatment didn't go as planned. This vet was recommended by a dear friend, they were full, but thankfully I waited until they were able to see my dog. My dog typically sees Erika Im. She is very friendly and takes her time to answer questions. I like how the vet follows up to make sure your dog is okay. I cannot say enough great things about Ashburn Veterinary Hospital - especially Dr. Jones & Kiyla (and Mindy, and Avery, and pretty much everyone I've ever spoken with :) ) The day we moved into our new home in Ashburn, our pup began showing signs of diabetes - we didn't know where to go, but based on some Yelp reviews I decided to give AVH a try. Dr. Jones and his team were able to squeeze us in right away and spent over an hour really learning about our pup - not just running a few tests. They listened to us thoroughly and answered endless 'what if' questions. Ultimately our pup did have a positive diabetes diagnosis, but they were quick to get us a plan together so we could start moving forward. Just two months into 'our new normal' and he's already doing much better! Since his diagnosis, the team at AVH has answered every phone call and email with so much patience and compassion. The first few weeks of 'our new normal' were stressful, but I always felt like I could call and get the help I needed. Dr. Jones even called us at 8p on a Friday evening to give us some test results - talk about one awesome doctor! Bonus: I have never felt like they were trying to get me to do unnecessary test/etc, which I've experienced at other veterinary practices I've visited over the years. 10+ stars to AVH! read more

Today, three days after my 2 star review I got a call from the practice manager asking if I had time to discuss the circumstances of my obvious disappointment. She is a long time employee of the practice and her care for her customers and for the continued success of the business was evident immediately. I was immediately impressed by 2 things: First, she let me know that she had read my review, verified my statements and discussed it with the staff on duty at the time, Second she asked if I would describe what occurred which I did in a calm, concise as I could way. She was upset at losing a client of 30 plus years and it showed but there was no arguments just a very clear desire to understand so she could avoid recurrence and continue Dr. Jones legacy. I am very impressed and pleased that she cares so much. Sadly I have moved on but I want the record to be clear that I consider the reason for my departure to be a one time occurrence and dissatisfaction based on staff behavior not the medical care provided. read more

We moved to this area a few years ago after spending most of their lives at the same vet who took very good care of our dogs. We shopped around for a new vet when we moved here and ended up picking AVH because of Dr. Jones and his amazing staff. They take amazing care of our dogs, give us all the time we need to ask questions, always have time to fit us in for an appointment, and never try to over sell us on anything. We have older dogs and see them quite often for different age related issues. We really appreciate how well they take care of our dogs. We've even hired one to overnight sit our dogs at our home. What a wonderful experience! When I was not sure my dog could wait 12 plus hours to be seen by his regular doctor, I contacted Ashburn Veterinary Hospital to see if he could be seen immediately. I was beyond grateful to find out they were willing to squeeze him into their already tight schedule. I rushed over to the office as fast as I could get there and I was met with warmth, patience, understanding and kindness! Just what I needed in a time when I was really concerned about the health of my dog. Dr. Jones gave my dog a thorough exam and he took his time as he worked to determine what the issue was. Dr. Jones and his staff are wonderful. After taking one of my dogs to another area veterinary clinic 3 times in the last 5 weeks, I was fed up with the used car salesman treatment I had been receiving. I asked a neighbor for their recommendation and Dr. Jones at Ashburn Veterinary Hospital was their go to veterinarian. He seems very friendly and personable and was willing to answer all of my questions. I never felt rushed or forced into making a treatment decision. Everything was quoted up front before any procedures were carried out. All of the vet techs are wonderful, friendly, and outgoing people. I felt instantly like they cared. If quality of care is what you seek, please read on. Dr. Jones examined my 1 year old dog that was just at the other vet and told me that not only were her ears kind of dirty, but she has an ear infection. Not more than 2 weeks ago she received a raving clean bill of health, as I was up sold a couple of vaccinations. As a pet owner I am furious that my dogs haven't been getting the care that they deserve. My 5 year old dog has been seen by the same other vet his whole life. They've recently been pushing teeth cleaning rather forcefully and Dr. Jones told me that while he has some build up it in no way requires putting him under for a cleaning. He said, "Let's keep an eye on it and maybe in a year or so he will need a cleaning." My old vet has been pushing a cleaning since he was 3. read more

I'm so happy I found this vet. Our first visit was when I was dropping my Golden off for daycare and the receptionist noticed a swollen eye before I did! I was panicked, needed to be at work, and new to the area so had no established veterinarian to call. I called AVH and they told me to head straight over. I got there in about 10 minutes and they immediately put us in a room and began the diagnostics. It was such a relief and luckily nothing major. I went back yesterday for our annual visit and Dr. Jones was so pleasant. He's not pushy at all and gives his honest opinion. I worked in the vet industry a number of years ago so I can be a bit high maintenance (the power of knowledge can be dangerous) but he doesn't mind my hesitation or questioning. If he does, he doesn't show it at all! I totally respect this man and his practice. The techs are efficient and knowledgeable and front desk gals are so sweet. My sweet girl had a lump which made me nervous due to her breeds history with cancer. Dr. Jones called me with results of the aspiration the next day (Saturday) which tells me he not only cares to make contact with his clients but has great time management since Saturday's are usually a super busy day for any clinic. Essentially, I will be giving this clinic my business for years to come for sure. Bonus: they're prices are the best I found in the area and they are understanding and thoughtful about the sometimes inevitable need to prioritize care due to financial restrictions. read more

The staff at the Ashburn Veterinary Hospital/Office are fantastic! They are so careful and thoughtful and kind to my pup, knowing that she's scared to death to be there. They were able to accomodate her even with fully booked appointments when she cut her leg and needed treatment. Dr. Jones is a great Vet and I trust him completely to take care of my dog each and every time! Of course, the only downside is the cost...which I guess can be said of most Vets....they're just expensive, although they do accept Care Credit for those needing a payment plan, so that is helpful! read more

We've been going to Ashburn Vet for almost 10 years. Dr. Jones and the staff are amazing. They truly care about their clients. They cared for our chocolate lab for most of his life and were extra sensitive to his needs and ours as he aged and became sick with liver disease and Cancer. They now care for our Great Dane mix and show him the same kindness and high level of care that they did with our previous dog. Ashburn Veterinary Hospital has been amazing. Dr. Currie has been nothing but sweet to our new puppy as he is welcomed into our family. All of the staff we have dealt with are patient, take time to explain to us both procedures as well as any charges. We had a horrendous experience during the sad and difficult time of putting our dog down at this vet. The procedure was not explained clearly, we were left alone in the room with our dog for 45 emotional minutes waiting for her to pass, only to learn that they had only given her a mild sedative rather than the lethal injection. To top it off, the doctor had the audacity to be rude and annoyed with us rather than apologizing for their poor explanation. I would absolutely not recommend this vet to anyone. read more

I highly recommend this office. Both drs and all of the staff have been fabulous since I started bringing my puppy here 5 months ago. She loves going for her visits and rushes to the door when we pull up. They've accommodated us twice for urgent situations and squeezed us in. Have never felt rushed-all of my questions are patiently answered-or pressured for any products or services. The small office means there is generally only one dog in at a time. This is a great veterinarian! I was looking for a new vet and came to Yelp and Google to find someone great. This place is it. Dr. Jones is phenomenal. Megan was friendly, gentle and patient. I have a large breed dog - Shiloh Shepherd. He is the most gentle of dogs, but some can be concerned because he's big and his bark is loud. I was looking for a place that would appreciate the large breed, be comfortable with him, and treat him like a member of their family. The staff at Ashburn Veterinarian and Dr. Jones did just that. This place is quite a gem. It has beautiful grass grounds and has a small farm as a neighbor. There is a walking trail right beside the office. It's a great little stroll to take with your dog to work out any nervousness in advance of the appointment. I couldn't be more pleased in finding this veterinarian. read more
