This was a six-figure remodel that looks acceptable only at a distance. Key issues: * No permits pulled for electrical work, bathroom remodels, or major door installation (sliding/nana-style door) * Bathrooms were not properly waterproofed, resulting in a significant leak from the upstairs sink and shower into the kitchen below * Level 5 wall finish was explicitly contracted and not delivered * Paint applied over fixtures and fire sprinklers, impairing function and creating safety concerns * Poor finish work throughout: uneven surfaces, peeling paint, exposed gaps, unsecured fixtures, and visible installation shortcuts Because required permits were not obtained, I am now exposed to liability, disclosure requirements when selling, potential fines, and reduced home value. This is not a cosmetic complaint--it is a material and legal issue that the contractor failed to address. Premium materials do not excuse substandard labor, lack of oversight, and permit avoidance. I would not recommend this contractor to any homeowner expecting professional-grade work or code-compliant execution. Extra update not added on original review: I do not recommend Nima at all. This experience caused serious safety issues, stress, and legal problems as a homeowner. Water from the upstairs shower/sink leaked into the kitchen ceiling and through a recessed light fixture while electricity was on, causing the light to flicker. I have video evidence showing water actively coming through the ceiling and around the light. Seeing water pour through an electrical fixture inside your home is terrifying and created a real fear of electrical shock or fire. This occurred during a six-figure renovation, yet plumbing and bathroom work were done without proper permits and without correct waterproofing. The leak originated from upstairs plumbing and was not treated as an emergency. What made this situation far worse is that Nima completely abandoned the project. He stopped responding to calls and messages and refused to address the dangerous conditions he caused. As a homeowner, this left me dealing with unsafe living conditions, hidden water and electrical damage, and serious legal and resale risks due to unpermitted work. Because of his lack of accountability and abandonment of the job, I was forced to take legal action, including pursuing recovery through his contractor's bond. No homeowner should be put in this position. This was not cosmetic work gone wrong. This was a dangerous failure that directly impacted my safety, my home, and my peace of mind. I strongly urge anyone considering this contractor to verify permits independently and proceed with extreme caution.

We hired NuHome Remodeling for our house remodeling which started with addition and 3 bath room…read moreremodel, but ended up with pretty much full house remodel including the full kitchen remodeling as well. The project managers that we had worked with were Tony, Issac and Amit. The experiences that we had with the team were exceptional, Tony and his team leads were very professional, patient, attentive to details, and transparent to the cost. They were excellent in communications and never delay responding to our messages, usually within a few minutes or within hours for any questions that we ask at any time of the day. In terms of services, they are like one stop shop that includes almost everything that we need from a contractor for remodeling so it really saved a lot of our time from talking with different people for different phases of the remodel. Their team has the architect who started with the floor plan with us, with a lot of back and forth discussions and our inputs taken into considerations. After we agreed and finalized the plan, they submitted it to the city for the permit. Since the architects and the construction team are under the same leadership of NuHome, in our case, Tony, this saves a lot of later potential integration problems between the architectural plans and the executions of the construction. During the construction, there were a few times that we changed our plans, for example, changing the size of the closet and pantry, Tony and the team were accommodating it; and in the middle of the construction, we were also changing the type and the number of outlets and the spot lights, Tony and the team were also incorporated that as well. We also had changed the plan for the TV ascent wall, and the team were fully in corporation and working with for the change, which turned out to be beautiful. Another area that really pleased and benefit us was NuHome has excellent interior designer who had worked with us closely in designing the bathrooms, and helping us picking up the right materials that worked perfectly for us, this saved us so much potential headache as we pretty much knew nothing in this field. The three bathroom designs turned out beautifully and exceeded our expectations. We would definitely attribute this to the team deep dedication of putting customers' need first, in addition to the construction team's skill set. The team has made sure to take care of our need from the very beginning to the end of the project, for little things like making sure we have the new lock after the whole project is done is even within their considerations, so we are moving into our new home feeling happy, comfortable and safe. What was going on and what was happening if I had any concerns, he addressed them immediately and make sure that they met my expectations. I would use Wise Builders again and I would request Marc to be my project manager again on any future jobs that I had. He worked really well with our designer Jocelyn, I appreciated having a designer. Having a designer to bounce ideas off have her expertise on fixtures and toilets was amazing. Jocelyn did an excellent job working with me and when my daughter had some changes to this design, she was very receptive to those changes and helped me update the changes in our design The only thing that could have been better is, if the tile supplier had communicated with Marc that the tile for the guest shower floor was backlogged. Marc worked really hard to expedite the tile and was in communication with me along that process. In order to give us options besides waiting for the tile, Jocelyn, our designer gave us an alternative tile. Looking at the tile floor now I like it better than what I had originally chosen. I have done other remodeling projects and I would have to say that working with Marc has probably been one of the easiest remodeling projects that I have done. I appreciated that I did not have to be so hands-on in the project because I trusted that Marc would get it done.

All prior interior work in our house had been done by handyman. I really appreciated the communication from our project manager Marc. He created a WhatsApp chat with me and the incredible designer Jocelyn. They were both consistently responsive to any of my questions or concerns -- and opened my mind to design options. Jocelyn spent time in our home, drafted plans, took me shopping, and sourced all the fixtures. From her spreadsheet I was able to find less expensive options for some items. I appreciated the input and control I had on these expenses. Since we needed to move out, I had a tight timeline for the project -- mid October until Thanksgiving. Marc and the team did their best despite City of San Jose delays with inspections. We were able to move back in before the final inspection. Every member of the team was kind and courteous. Marc also did a great job working with the window vendor that specializes in older homes. I'm rating the experience a 4.5 out of 5 for two reasons. I was disappointed that the medicine cabinet, switch plates, and hooks were initially installed unevenly (it was corrected). I expected more attention to detail. And I was disappointed in the wear & tear that happened on my wood floors as well as the overall dust in my dining room. I was warned that things would get dusty -- but didn't understand the extent and would have packed away more things. WISE offers lots of support with design -- they could also offer as part of their package a full cleaning! I offer this feedback to help others calibrate their expectations. Overall it was a positive experience. I waited several months to post this review until I returned from travel and could see how things were settling after regular use. I'm loving the new bathroom and recommend WISE.

She met us at multiple showrooms to pick out our kitchen and 3.5 bathroom finishes. She knew what materials would work best for our project and created a document with very accurate renderings of each room, and provided links for the purchases that we needed to make. Eddie, our foreman, was amazing and attentive to all of our project needs. He was patient, flexible, and took the time to explain why things were done in a certain way.
