We were thoroughly impressed working with DECOR Builders. Tal quoted us 6-8 months for our extensive remodel, and he delivered a practically new home to us in the promised time! We really liked the seemlessness of working with the DECOR team. They were great at communication, reminders, suggestions, and help. We had a list of issues with our existing layout, and they helped solve all of them! My husband and I worked with Tal and Mustafa on a bedroom extension plus a mudroom (200+ sq ft). They were great from the beginning to the end. Our project was completed in 3 months. They did a pretty large and complicated landscaping project on a slope and ADU in difficult to access area. The project require to make a new foundation, retaining walls. Due to difficluty to access all foundation digging has to be done by hand. I did talk to quite a few contractors. many outright refuse to even bid on the project due the fact that they can not get heavy equipement in my backyard. Tal and his company agreed to do it and offered a reasonable plan. Their price was reasonable and they were very thorough. They did very thorough job and promptly addressed all issue and modifications which I wanted to make. Even city inspector praised them multiple times that they did very good job all up to code. read more

We had the pleasure of working with Tal and Decor Builders for an office addition to our house. It was our first major renovation project and we'd absolutely work with them again in the future. Breaking down the major categories... Price: The quote came in a little higher than others, but definitely not the most expensive either. In the end we had zero regrets, and felt it was definitely a fair price given the quality and end results. Communication: we've heard a bunch of horror stories of contractors ghosting their clients for days or weeks. Not the case with Decor Builders. Communication was via a chat group or email. Many responses were immediate and never went longer than 24hrs without a response. Change requests were handled quickly and easily. Tal followed all our requests for keeping the site clean due to us living in a townhome community. Schedule: As with most projects, we did have some delay. However it was mostly due to our structural engineer/architect and beyond Decor Builder's control. If the structural plans came in correct the first time, we would have been on time/early. Each time the team came onsite, they worked incredibly efficiently. Tal's team put in extra hours at the end in order to maintain deadline. Quality/End results: we've had a bunch of family and friends come take a look and the overwhelming response is that all the craftsmanship is top notch. We were originally concerned about the new room blending in with everything else that was 10 year old house. But the results look seamless. My husband and I hired Guy and Decor Builders to convert our 480sq ft detached garage into a 1 bedroom/1bath ADU. I was apprehensive about the process because we had just finished a renovation project on our house with another contractor, and had a pretty bad experience. So I really did my homework when talking with Guy- reading reviews, talking to previous clients, etc. Guy took me to see an ADU he had recently completed, which was beautiful. I also knew I would want to use an interior designer to help select finish materials, and I liked that Decor Builders had someone in-house who was part of the team vs me needing to coordinate communication among separate people/companies. For the most part everything went smoothly. Getting blueprints drawn up went quickly, we met with Anne and toured showrooms to pick out a design plan and materials, demolition started in July. Communication with Guy and Dalton was pretty good, they were usually responsive to questions and concerns as they came up. I felt reassured when Dalton would check on the site and be unhappy about small mistakes the workers had made, because he really was paying attention to the details and felt invested in everything being done right. The workers were friendly, professional, and respectful. Our previous contractor had barely ever shown his face at the work site and was not responsive when a major problem came up, so I really appreciated that Guy was more hands-on and when we had any problems he showed up the same day to check it out and make sure things were ok. We did have some delays (the work was supposed to finish in October, but wasn't done till the first week of January), but some of that is to be expected with any construction project. Anyone embarking on a remodel / addition project should know that its one of the most stressful endeavors and there are lots of very very shady actors out there. We picked Decor (and Tal specifically) after interviewing over 17 contractors. One of the main reasons (apart from being punctual and clear) was of all the contractors we spoke to - only two did not try to minimize our vision of building what we wanted - most contractors would ask us to make the project to be less than 500 sq ft and scared us with something called "School tax". Turns out, the reason for them pushing us this way was because it was easier for them to get permits (OTC process) and not really for our benefit. Tal, on the other hand, told us - "build what you want, I will handle all of the permit work" and not to stress about the school tax (yes its there but its a small one time amount compared to the whole project) and he delivered in spades - we designed the house how we wanted and he got the permits the right way. Moving on from there, given the horror stories we had heard from our friends, we were very worried about the project itself, but Tal and his team (Eddie and all the others) made it relatively painless. The project completed almost on time - only reason it was delayed was some windows didn't come on time for us. The team is absolutely fantastic. They put us at ease every step of the way and made sure that we were not being nickeled and dimed. Tal and his team became almost like family for us. The work quality is astounding. Even today, our friends remark how it doesn't seem like we did an addition given how seamlessly the addition and the previous home blend together. The attention to detail - even with things like ensuring the baseboards match the previous home was just mind-blowingly impressive. Honestly, we could not have gotten here without Tal and his team. When we received our permit to close the roof at 5pm on a Friday, mere hours before a massive rain storm, Tal was personally on the roof until 10pm making sure it's closed and insulated. When we wanted to figure out the best design for our kitchen cabinets, Tal accompanied us to the store and provided us his opinion. In the very very few cases where we weren't 100% satisfied, Tal did not argue and sent his team back to make sure the end result matched what we wanted. What stood out for us: - They have extremely high attention to detail. Everything they did looks perfect. If there was additional work that needed to be done or an additional cost, we were given a heads up and provided an explanation. I had the pleasure of allowing Decor Builders to take care of my home renovation from start to finish. As any renovation, the process was a bit rough at times but all issues arose from outlying factors that Guy's team had no impact on. He helped me to #1 stay calm and #2 work through any challenges in a timely and cost effective way. Guy took care of most of the leg work and has connections all over the Bay Area to vendors which made this project easy from an ordering and cost perspective. If I could do it again, I would have Guy taking the lead on the project while making sure I stayed on top of things like permits from the city, etc. It was very easy to communicate (even through holidays and weekends) when critical parts of the project needed attention. I did a full house gut job - no structural work and guy was able to accommodate all my needs while also working with me and my budget to prioritize all of the wish list items at a reasonable cost. Special shout out to my project manager Dalton who was my eyes when I was out of town while the house was still being put together in a livable setting. We went through everything - permitting, asbestos removal, financing challenges with one of my loans that I acquired, Guy helping me to acquire additional funding through his network, electric, plumbing, reconfiguring some of the rooms, and a full bathroom and kitchen upgrade. I'm tempted to add some "before" photos but I don't even want to show how bad my house was before Guy's team came in to the mix - it was bad. After we were done, the finished product is the best in a 20mile radius while also staying in this size range of home. Best of all, after Guy's team was finished, I had my home reappraised and guess what - my valuation came back over $300k over the pre-renovation value. Talk about a solid ROI! Décor Builders helped us to build a 659 sq ft addition to our existing home. Décor Builders provided us a full service of this project including architect design, construction, interior decoration, and front yard landscaping. We started interviewing contractors for this addition project in March 2021. We quickly selected Décor for this project after a few rounds of interview. Among all contractors we interviewed, Décor was the only one on time for all appointments and timely responding to our requests, which won our confidence. We spent two months in completing the design phase of this addition project with roughly eight rounds of drawing revisions. The designer from Décor Builders patiently provided valuable solutions to all our requests and modified the drawing accordingly. We submitted our design to the city in May 2021 and got approval in November 2021. Décor Builders immediately started constructing the addition and was able to complete the majority of the project in early April 2022. It took Décor Builders only four months to complete such a complicated projects under COVID and the supply shortage. All my friends and neighbors can not believe such a short project duration and think that we tell a lie. In fact, Décor builders can wisely plan the project step-by-step and allocate labors and materials in advance, resulting in this amazingly short project duration. We are extremely happy about its schedule management. During the construction, we also expanded the scope of the project constantly. Décor Builders dealt with the new tasks confidently. Décor could find the sub-contractor timely among its massive supplier network, inserted the new tasks to the existing plan, secured material supply, and completed them as scheduled. We stayed in the home throughout the addition project. Décor Builders thought on our behalf and minimized the impact of the construction on our daily life. My wife and I recently had the pleasure of working with Guy and his team at Decor Builders on our first home. Our house is a 100 year old Craftsman, so needed a fair bit of updating. We had done a bunch of research and had gotten estimates from 3 different companies before we decided on moving forward with Guy. From the get go, Guy was incredible. He was the quickest to respond, super thoughtful and upfront (the other two companies kept rescheduling, and both of them rolled up with a lousy attitude - as if they didn't want our business). We did a whole-house interior remodel and are quite pleased with our experience with Tal. Despite the chaos and uncertainty of the pandemic, he was trustworthy, helpful, and responsive throughout the process. We had interviewed 4 other contractors or design/build firms and ultimately chose to work with Tal. His company won our business because he was more engaged, asked smart questions, and offered really useful suggestions throughout the bid process. We implemented many of his ideas, some of which saved on cost and others made our home even more beautiful. We started our bid process before COVID hit, and Tal was very flexible and accommodating as we were dealing with the delayed sale of our prior home and our desire to change the scope of work. After we sold our other home and could move forward, work began promptly and was mostly completed well within the original timeframe estimated. I say mostly because there were a handful of things that weren't finished when we moved in -- some of those things were due to change orders or materials we weren't able to get in time, while a few were fixes or other unfinished work. While it was a bit of an inconvenience to have renovation workers coming in and out while we were living in the home, it was understandable given all the complexity of a project of this size and the vagaries of material lead times during COVID. I would give the workmanship of Tal's crew a 9 out of 10 -- we're generally pleased and believe that they do quality work, but of course there are always things you notice after you've moved in. Little things like paintwork around light switches and windows, wall texture and tiling that's not perfect, and bathroom hardware installed just a little off from where it should have been. To Tal's credit, he has been 100% responsive to any concerns we've brought up and has addressed every item we told him about.  We were very lucky that we had no surprises along the way. Part of that is because Tal forewarned us of any possible issues before we even started, and if anything had come up, we are confident he would make us aware of our options and be smart about mitigating any increase in costs. He operated with transparency and honesty throughout the entire process, and responded to every concern professionally and earnestly. Tal is a stand up guy who delivers on his promise. What i really liked about working with him is his honest opinion on the project, like while selecting tiles he would tell what combination would work best irrespective of whether it was expencive or not. He sees the work from a customer's point of view which is very important. One of the faucets in the bathroom was mis-aligned from the rest of the fixtures, when I brought it to his attention, he quickly fixed the issue by rearranging the underlying plumbing. The professionalism and craftsmanship of the Decor team is excellent. My project consisted of extending my parents old 1400SF house and a complete renovation of the entire existing house. We redid the kitchen, moved some walls around, added a gorgeous master suite, re-wired and re-piped the entire house, added new hardwood floors and painted the entire house inside and out. The overall project took almost a year and the construction part took 7.5 months(they committed to deliver between 6-8 months and delivered on time!!!). The Decor team delivered a final project that has exceeded my expectations and met all of my desires. They were very willing to listen to my ideas and comments throughout the project even if that meant changes to the work in progress. The experience was great throughout entire process, from planning, design and then construction. There were some hiccups along the way, as with any renovation, but they were always handled with professionalism.
