Purchased couches in June, within 3 months the supposed "100% real top grain leather" is peeling. In other words, it is not real, and is just coated cheaper bottom layer leather (for everyone who doesn't speak leather, that is a lower layer of the epidermis or skin and is coated not dyed like "top" grain which is the top layer of skin. This peeling is after only occasional sitting time as we are a small family and not at home very often. I tried to call the store as it should be covered by factory warranty for one year. I was informed by the customer service rep "Holly" that they were unable to place an order into the system for a tech to look at it. I was informed that they would pass on my information and then get back to me.... Right... So not only is their leather not real, their 1 year factory warranty is a scam as well. I've thought about this review all weekend and still stand strongly behind it. I post the truth per each customer service experience. A few days ago, we decided to visit Ashley Furniture in search for a bed frame. As soon as we entered the store, we noticed a salesman literally running after us. We explained we were just browsing, but would let him know if we had any questions. Once we found a bed frame we liked, we looked around and saw (what looked like a manager) walking by us with a clipboard. When we stopped him to ask a few questions, he clearly seemed irritated to be speaking with us. We both thought he was rude and unfriendly. What the heck happened to customer service - manager or salesman? We didn't see the manager again during this visit. I didn't get his name, but we found the (Mohawk hairstyle) salesman (who chased us down upon entering the store). When we began to ask him questions about price, he switched the conversation to asking us how much we paid for our new mattress. I politely told him we didn't feel comfortable providing that information. A few minutes later, he asked AGAIN what we paid for our mattress. I couldn't believe it. When he began verbally estimating what we paid for it, I knew we wouldn't purchase anything at this store. We didn't find him to be kind or friendly. He excused himself to help another customer once he sensed we weren't interested in purchasing the bed frame. A salesman (who seemed so eager for our business 30 minutes earlier), watched us walk out of the store.. and didn't try to stop us. Ashley Furniture is this BIG NAME store, with a reputation, etc. My first time in there was yesterday and let me tell you BIG disappointment!!! I walked around for 20 minutes...no one greeted me, asked me if I needed help, or even offered to let me look around until someone can help me. I walked around, stood in the middle of the store and NOTONE person approached me. So I walked out.... Sad because I had seen a couple of sets online that I was interested in purchasing but I wanted to see them in person first ( if they had them on the sales floor). I ended up going to Jeromes and purchasing 2 bedroom sets from their instead....which were delivered that same night!!! Ashley really needs to get better customer service!!! read more

I purchased a love seat sofa from here 4 years ago. It is falling apart. The quality of the furniture is horrible compared to other furniture places I have purchased couches from, such as Jeromes. I had a couch for 9 years with them and it wasn't even leather, but it lasted longer than the one I currently have now from Ashley's. I called their customer service and they didn't stand behind the fact that the quality of their sofa couldn't withstand only 4 years. I don't recommend Ashley's furniture. You are better off purchasing at IKEA or Jeromes. read more

First, I would like to say that the woman that helped us (Tene) was absolutely wonderful. Great sales person, friendly, helpful. This review is not about her. This is about everything else. I purchased a couch in this store. The computer wouldn't print the receipt and paperwork, so a manager had to override. This is fine, except he was FAR from friendly and pretty condescending to both myself and the sales person. He finally printed out the receipt and the total was more than $300 what was supposed to be charged. She asked him to come back to fix the issue and he ignored her. She had to ask someone else to help us. This morning I found out that they are selling the same couch on their website for over $100 less! I called the store to ask to cancel the couch order and they said I have to come into the store in person to cancel it. Are you kidding me? I'm on the phone with customer support but I've been on hold for 40 minutes now. Just, do NOT order from Ashley. I was browsing around furniture stores to get an idea what pieces I'll be purchasing for an upcoming move. I specifically pointed this out to the saleswoman who greeted me. After going through the entire selection..the saleswoman highlighted some of the offers- but when I reiterated I wasn't interested in buying today but might come back after browsing other places, she was very rude. Originally I really liked Ashley's furniture. The sales rep was great and very informative. We got our couch there, which I still love. However, we also got our bed room set there and I would NOT recommend to buy your set here. The dresser had a scratch in it, the handle was lose and poor "paint job." We originally thought it was real wood, but I guess not. I called to complain about the scratches, paint job, and that the draws were all misaligned and the customer service lady was very rude. Overall, I am still VERY unhappy with my dresser and they said they could not fix the misaligned draws. On a side note, Ashley's furniture did call me the next day asking if I would do a survery; which I did and I told the lady what happened and she did send me $100 gift card to their store. read more

My wife and I picked out a bedroom set where she fell in love with the color (a white-ish grey and we designed our room to compliment the furniture) when we received the delivery time frame we knew we could run errands right before that time frame. We get a call from the delevery guys saying they are at our house 4 hours early and we were and hour away from our home. They had moved everything into the garage that we had left open by the time we got there. They wanted us to check for dings and dents, etc. our garage is not well lit so this was a struggle and then I noticed the color, it seemed off but I was not too sure since we did not have anything to compare it to. A couple months later we moved all of our new furniture over to our new home and we realized that in fact it was the wrong color. We took a nightstand to the store to make sure and when we walked in the store manager himself said "that's interesting" (meaning that something was off) we spoke to a lady behind the counter about our issue and she was completely rude and said that all wood takes stain differently along with a couple other employees saying the same thing, well they are right about the stain thing but what is funny is this a painted "wood", so good try guys, working at a furniture store they should know the difference. The store manager said we should call customer service immediately and let them know, after a while on hold for customer service we spoke with a very rude lady over the phone that just did not understand what the problem was, it was the right furniture but the color was off "but they don't offer any other colors" we know lady but this one is not the same. She then said we need to talk to the store manager (who had just told us to call them). We call the store back and I ask for the store manager and they said he is busy but he can call you back so I leave my name and number and a couple hours later they call back, "hey the store manager is busy but he wanted to know what the issue is" I say, " i need to talk to him it's about my wrong colored furniture I was just in there not too long ago" she says, "he said we can do a one time exchange and we can do it at this date" I say, " ok thanks for working with me" Delivery truck comes and the color is the same as what we had received, the delivery driver says oh well that furniture in the store has been there for years (sooo the color faded is what you are saying?) after all of this trouble we just take the new set that seemed closer to the color vs. the first delivery. This whole experience has been terrible, Ashley furniture after the sale is extremely unprofessional as if you have insulted them since we had an issue with their products and we even bought the protection plan too! If this was like pulling teeth, I cannot imagine what else is to come if we have more issues. They advertised and even list their furniture as white-grey color and the pieces we received is a no question a bisque color at best, no white or grey anywhere to be found. We will not be shopping at a store that sells different color furniture from what they display in the store or know the difference between stain and paint, just wish we knew sooner but I guess we should have looked at their other terrible reviews before hand too. At the end of the day we have a room based on grey furniture and instead have bisque colored furniture and Ashley will not do anything to fix it, thanks guys! read more

However service was variable on our several visits there and it is important to get a good advisor. On our last visit we were lucky to be looked after by Tameen who spent time, was not pushy, explained all the steps in purchase and worked with his managers to get the best prices which included the weekend special discounts and price match for each item. While I completely understand COVID is ongoing. Don't waste your hard earned money at any Ashley's furniture. I spent almost $600 including taxes and fees for a twin bed in July 2020. Our items came later (Aug 2020) which we anticipated due to Covid. We got the free delivery to your door option The items got delivered and some boxes were ripe opened and taped. There were scratches on the bed. We called too late to report even though I sent pictures that I attempted to call them within 48 hours. Ended up we had to file a claim, a technician had to come out to assess the damage. This was first week of October, (I don't know how efficient that is) the guy came out and assess the damage, he reorder our damage part... they've delayed our delivery the initial delivery for 2 weeks. I had rescheduled the second one and they delay the one I rescheduled for today (October 20th) to November!!! Reminder, I bought this $600 twin bed!! I've asked to talk to a manager twice which got me no where, I'm writing this review and will be writing to their corporate. If I have to write to the CEO of this horrible company, I will. I never got this frustrated with any company but this is absolutely ridiculous. I should have ordered from living spaces or even Wayfair. Don't shop here. I will try to make this short and sweet......er....bitter i guess. My wife and I had been there multiple times over the past several months. We always seemed to end up at this one leather sectional that we fell in love with on our first visit. The salesman Gino was helpful, even when i said that we would let him know that we were just looking around at the time. fast forward to the purchase day, relatively painless......i really dont think any business makes it hard to take your cash now that i think about it. anyhow, when the delivery date came......drum roll please.....wrong couch. i felt really bad for the delivery guys, we had them take the mismatched pieces back and they left the wedge and single seat. so for about a week and a half.....i had half a couch. we called the store and got some lady that couldnt give a sh....really didnt care about customers at that point. we were told we would get a call back later in the day. never did. i called back the next day only to get the ol' runaround. finally the proper pieces arrived at the house. when i signed for them i felt like an ass as soon as i noticed at the top of the clipboard was a little note that said "tips appreciated". i justified not tipping because of the result of the @hole management at that place......you figure you're store is right outside of a military installation. the least you could do is treat a military family with some dignity and respect, hell you should treat all of your customers at first class patrons. My husband and I just purchased our new home and as you can imagine, we were really excited to fill it with new furniture. We figured to shop around and at first, we were impressed with the section at Ashley's furniture. Our salesman was inviting and even applied some "discounts" on our purchase. However, this whole process wasn't pleasant... We purchased over $6,000 worth of furniture in June 2016 and we've only received half of it. It's been a month and we are STILL waiting for the second half. The first shipment was our couch and they had to take back the middle section because it was broken. For a week, we had a sectional that was not functional - that was the start of our annoyance with Ashley's furniture. Now, (it's July 20th) I'm being told that we are receiving our bedroom furniture on the 30th of July 2016. That's a month and a half after we purchased it! Can you imagine how irritating it is to shell out so much money and you're still sleeping on your bedroom floor and have missing furniture around the house?!? Not to mention, we were told that it was labeled as "pick up" and not delivery. Ummm, no. It's not our fault that their corporation can't figure it out. They couldn't keep all of our furniture in the same shipment so I refuse to pay for another delivery fee. It's not just this store in Miramar, we also purchased two bar stools from the San Marcos location and as of today, we've only had one bar stool delivered because the other one is on "back order" so we have to wait or take the second option and that's accept a broken bar stool. Shopping in this store was a pleasant experience. Our sales rep Yuri was excellent. He didn't hound us, gave us the right amount of space and was very informational. So, I give him 5 stars I give Ashley's 3 because when they did finally delivery my canopy bed, several pieces were damaged. Salesman was amazing, very friendly and helpful... That's where the nice part ends. Movers came to the house and had an extreme language barrier. They installed my $1,200 adjustable bed base (for a temperpedic mattress) in one room and installed my $4200 temperpedic matress in a separate room... This makes no sense. Then they broke a light fixture. When I called customer service to have a claim filed (and reschedule them to fix the mistake) I was hung up on (after 20 minutes of listening to the worst, repetitive hold music my poor ears have ever heard). Called back again and waited another 20 minutes listening to horrible music. Was advised that they will call me back to reschedule later in the day. No call back. Called again and they said they could come possibly tomorrow or the next day but would call to confirm. Waited until noon and no call again so I called again to listen to another 20 minutes of dreadful music. After explaining my frustration to Cindy ( the customer service representative) she successfully got a move scheduled. I was advised that I would receive a call from the claims department (for my broken light fixture) within 7 days. 8 days later I spent another 18 minutes listening to the dreary sound from my phone as I waited again to explain my frustration only to be answered by a manager who had a worse attitude than I. She explained that it was the delivery company who should have called me back. She said she would reach out to them, when I explained that I did NOT want to wait on hold again for the phone call I was anticipating didn't come in, she gave me her extension... the extension that I would have to wait to talk to another representative to put in... Took 2 weeks to hear back about the fixture, which they did pay me for but not after many painful phone calls. Then I get a "fan feedback" email from the store. I tell them about my situation and they took a week to respond. Then they tell me they will have someone from customer service from this location reach out to me... Month later, no response. Side note: between my brother and I, we spent $12,000 in one day at your store. Spent $5,000 at Living Spaces the month prior, with no issues at all... Where do you think I should spend my money in the future. read more

This review is strictly on the shopping experience an not in any of the quality of the furniture. I purchased a new dining table from Ashley's in San Marcos right before they closed down. Maria helped us out was amazing in helping is choose the perfect dinning table. She made the process simple and easy. One of the downfalls to our purchase was that it was two weeks out before we could pick it up, which is a bubble buster when you need a dinning table ASAP. When I picked up my merchandise, the guys at Ashley's loaded all the boxes onto my truck (I opted out of delivery and saved $84). Once they loaded the truck, they aske me to make sure I had four boxes (which I did) and signed for my stuff. When I got home and unloaded my stuff, I realized they gave me two incorrect chairs. Big inconvenience since I live 30 miles away from the warehouse (Miramar) and I have to go back and et the right one. When I arrived to pick up the correct product, it was simple and pain free. One of the correct chairs had a leg an inch shorter and made it wobbly. I brought to the warehouse guys and they attempted to level it out for me, which was great. I've purchased from Ashley's and Jerome's and I know that I will remain an Ashley's customer. I highly suggest that if you pick up your own merchandise, don't trust the warehouse guys to be accurate. The delivery men apparently didn't know how to put anything together. They both used my restroom, set up the furniture quickly and were on their way. That was 3 months ago. Terrible customer service response time. I went into the store to cancel an order, but didn't have my husband's card on me to be able to get the refund. I was told to call when I got home with the card info and they would be able to complete the refund over the phone. It is now 3 full days later, and I have called many times each day and they NEVER answer. Someone eventually answers from an operating service, but they don't work at that store and are unable to help, besides writing emails to the store in hopes someone will return my call. After 3 emails sent by the operators, I still have not received a call back and have now been on hold with Ashley Headquarters for 21 minutes and counting. I would NEVER shop at this store again because of this. read more

The purchasing process went very well. It's everything that happened afterward that was very disappointing. I purchased a dining set and power reclining loveseat in August 2016 for three thousand dollars. The delivery and installation team were not very good. They refused to remove the plastic from the dining room chairs. When I sat down to test out the power reclining sofa it was not working correctly as if there was a mechanical problem. The installers promised to open a case with Ashley to get it taken care of. After they left I noticed there was a small pit in the wood top of the dining table. When the repair guy came out, he said it looked like the sofa had been loaded into the truck on its side which bent the frame and proceeded to order a replacement frame. He said he did not know anything about removing the plastic wrapping from the chairs but went ahead and did it anyway (correct removal of plastic required disassembly of the chair) mentioning he thought the installers sounded lazy based on how the sofa was loaded and their refusal to remove the plastic. I mentioned the pitted dining table top and said the installers probably loaded it into the truck wrong which damaged it as well. A month later I received the replacement frame for the couch but no one came out to complete the repair or replace the dining table top. Since then one of the dining chairs has become loose/wobbly and is unsafe to sit on. I did buy the special 5 year furniture protection plan so I thought they would be able to help me. They told me they could not fix any of the three issues. So don't expect anything purchased here to be in new, working condition when installed, don't expect the installers to fully deliver/unwrap the furniture, and don't expect the protection plan to cover anything and you will be happy. read more

I normally buy all of my furniture from Ashley Furniture but never again will I buy anything from them, I purchased furniture from them and waited a month for delivery, on the day of delivery it was rescheduled to a later time, and 7:55 pm, I was left a voicemail that I would need to call and reschedule for a different date because the truck broke down, this put me in a bad position and I had also wasted and entire day sitting home. I had to cancel that and get some for furniture because I needed it. They charged me a $274.00 cancelation fee and said I signed a binding contract. The man I spoke with at Ashley in Mathews did not try to work anything out, and only said the truck broke down it was nothing they could do. To whomever this may concern, Warning, if you are looking to read about a wonderful shopping experience, please take this moment to skip to another review. On July 27th, 2018, what started out as an exciting furniture excursion to purchase a new living room set, quickly escalated into a nightmare. From the time my husband and I entered the showroom floor, to the time we exited 2 hours later, we were not allowed free, or captive, thought. An aggressive saleswoman, whose approach to selling furniture was akin to that of a used car dealer, led us through the store like we were children. Her motto must have been, "Never take no for an answer", because she ignored the word, despite the several times we expressed disinterest. Once we finally "settled" on a yes, we were then charged the wrong price, a "mistake" discovered only because we had to visit the store's website because of a measuring error. When we returned, 7 days later, to reorder the correct pieces we decided to bring up the pricing difference. The saleswoman looked my husband and I in the face and said, "The store employees are not aware of all the sales posted online", and kind of blew us off. When we refused to drop the issue, only then did she, and another young woman in financial, "appear" to acquiesce. I say "appear" because after 2 more store hours, 3 incredulously misleading pieces of paperwork, and 1 furniture delivery date later, we discovered they never changed a thing. When I called yesterday, and yet again requested a correction of this "error", the saleswoman had the unmitigated nerve to say, "We fixed it that day, remember?" To which I replied, "No, you didn't. You made it look as if you did." She then quickly left and put someone else on the phone. Ultimately, we received no apology, only a weak claim that the financial woman had simply forgot to correct the other invoice price because it was 2 separate deliveries. I found this suspicious, given that all the furniture arrived on one truck. If not for the fact that I took a screen shot of the sale from the website, I believe we would be up a creek. I'm writing to you now, because I remain skeptical that this ordeal is over. PS The delivery people were extremely nice and professional. read more

I ordered a queen size bed with rails, headboard & footboard & premium mattress on 7/17/21. On Sept. 14th I decided to check to status. The store NEVER ANSWERS THEIR PHONE - EVER. Nor do they call back. I typed in my phone number (that is on the sales receipt) - no record of my number. I then typed in the Order number from the sales receipt. Nothing found! Called the salesperson - he answered his phone but it was his day off so he has to check on this tomorrow for me. Waiting to see. Buyer beware. Luckily I paid for it with my MasterCard. Absolutely the worst furniture store I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Their salespeople are only motivated by commission and follow you around like eager puppies. If they get the feeling you aren't worth their while they totally ignore you. Nearly every item in the store is priced less on the website and they act like they are doing you a favor by price matching. They then try to offer you free delivery as a perk which is also offered on the website without having to ask for it. They have a ridiculous method of confirming delivery by randomly calling you one time then rescheduling if you don't respond immediately. Our delivery was rescheduled 3 times due to this nonsense. It was also rescheduled because our order somehow was changed to self pick up in a warehouse 150 miles away. The in store customer service people are combative, rude and don't give a damn about you at all. The customer service phone numbers keep you on hold for hours and once finally answered the agents are unwilling or unable to remedy anything. They are unable to look up simple information and unable to contact other departments without themselves having to wait on hold. Our furniture was delivered damaged and the delivery people just left a mess in my entry and drove off. I had to again call customer service to be informed it could take up to two days for a response! This company is a total joke on every front. They literally fail in every aspect of running a furniture store. From sales to delivery to customer service to quality its just one letdown after another after another. Do not waste your time here... I will never set foot inside an Ashley store ever again and will tell everyone I come in contact with looking for furniture to do the same. read more

Ordered a sofa for my office and waited all day for delivery. On my day off may I add! I called in and was told delivery was scheduled for 2.00 pm . Nobody showed up and I called to be told delivery was between 1pm and 5 pm... Waited till 5.30 and called in again and was informed that systems were down. I asked for a refund and they said I have to come into the store for a refund. Now let me add that my office is 5 mins a away so they could have arranged another time to delivery.
