My fridge broke and the warranty company sent ASI. Demarcus showed up in the promised time window and diagnosed the problem. He thought the problem was the main control board and called a supplier to order the part and to get warranty approval. He told me he would be back later in the week and showed up again at the promised time. Unfortunately, the fridge still did not work so he did some more sleuthing and identified another potential problem. He promised to be back a few days later and again showed up exactly on time. This time he fixed the problem. Demarcus provided exceptional customer service, was extremely polite, always kept his promises, and clearly explained everything to me. read more

No complaints. We have two month old washer that was having issues; Whirlpool sent out ASI to do the warranty work. They arrived on the early end of the scheduled time-frame. I found our technician to be very professional and knowledgeable. I was certainly nervous given all of the negative reviews but was pleasantly surprised. I'm a mechanical engineer but with no experience fixing refrigerators and I probably could have done a better job than this company. They took 4 visits to fix a 2 year old refrigerator under warranty that wasn't cooling properly. The first tech made one visit to diagnose and order parts since they don't keep them on their truck. He made a second visit to replace compressor, evaporator etc. and told us it would take 24 hours for the refrigerator to cool down (first red flag). 24 hours later our refrigerator wasn't cooling at all and we lost $400 worth of food. Called customer service and left message after hours and no response the next day. Called again the next day and they scheduled a second tech to come out. Second tech made one visit to inspect and second visit to fix whatever the first tech did wrong. 4 visits over a week and a half without refrigerator = an angry wife and upset kids. This is worst appliance repair service I've ever used but was forced to use them since they are KitchenAid's warranty provider for the area. To top it off, their tech's call you using blocked numbers so if you miss their call good luck trying to ever reach them back. ASI should provide their technicians with business cell phones that they can turn off when they aren't on the job. read more

They should have negative stars for this business. I am writing Whirlpool today to tell them of their bad decision to let this company represent them as a service provider. Zero customer service, impossible to deal with. Here's a prime example: I had scheduled an appointment for Thursday on Tuesday afternoon. I was told they could not let me know of window until Thursday morning. At 8:21 a.m. I got a call from them and they left a message. I was driving from NW Houston to Pasadena for work and am not allowed to use phone while driving per a customer requirement. As soon as I got to the office I called and was informed that my service slot...7-10 a.m....of which I had not been informed, had already been given away and I would have to reschedule. My husband had already missed a day of work on Thursday, now has to miss another one. I will be calling Whirlpool today and asking for another service provider. If 0 stars was an option that would be more accurate. I experienced unprofessional handling of the scheduling of my appointment and no advance explanation of how much a service visit would cost. The service visit payment due at the time of the appointment was twice as much as anyone else would have charged. And on top of that, the technician determined that there was nothing wrong with my dryer, so I paid twice as much as I thought I would and no work was actually done to my appliance. read more

Quickly diagnosed the problem with my Kitchen Aid ice maker, had the part on his truck and made the repair within 15 minutes. Although I assured him the machine was out of manufacturer's warranty, he checked again just in case. Very professional and knowledgable. Ask for him. read more

Just moved to Houston a couple years ago and have been struggling to find reliable trustworthy repair company - ASI is it. They schedule their service, arrive on time and complete the work professionally at reasonable rates. They also stand by their repairs. They came back a second time to ensure repairs were proper. I had a problem with my whirlpool washer not spinning and this technician comes in and just looks at the error code history (which wasn't shown recently). Without touching anything else he tells me I have to replace the parts worth $750 (The machine costs less than that!!!). On top of that he tells me I have to disconnect the machine and move it out by myself or else he needs $100 extra to bring in another person to touch the machine. He charged me $120 for coming in and pressing 3 buttons on the washer. read more

I have warranty through Whirlpool and they work with this company. THE WORST. My refrigerator started leaking inside so I called them. They came out on 8/18/16 and told me they would give me a 30 minute window...NOT. 15 minute window and not even the time they initially told us. Didn't come back to fix my issue until 9/30/16; once again, not the designated time and only a 15 minute window!! UNACCEPTABLE. My husband and I work so we have to arrange time with work to meet these people. The technician, Luis, said he "fixed" the issue but it's still leaking. He also replaced the freezer door and that's freezing over. So here I go again, calling them. I was told between 1PM and 5PM on 11/23/16 so I make arrangements at work. I get a call from the technician the morning of and he tells me between 11AM and 2PM and would give me a 30 minute window. Once again, unacceptable. I called the office and the lady I spoke to was not helpful. I told her I made arrangements for the 1-5 time frame I was initially given and this was a mistake on them since they didn't fix it the first time and I shouldn't be punished for this. Nothing was done. I get a call at 10:45 saying the technician is 15 minutes out...HERE WE GO AGAIN. No 30 minute window and not in the initial 1-5 time frame I was given. I asked to speak to a manager but what do you know, there isn't one available. This company is horrible. Their work is horrible. Whirlpool needs to go through someone else that can actually work with their customers and not screw them over. read more

My experience with this company has been awful. First tech came out saw water in the bottom of Kitchenaid dishwasher and said was bad board that runs the pump. $268.00 for the board no diagnostics done plus $118 service fee. Showed the tech could manually drain the pump by pushing button. It had stopped working in the cycle. Returned 2nd time to put in new board didn't work. Still stopped mid to early cycle. Called ASI again. Came back says needs another board. Came back a forth time, second new expensive board installed still didn't work. Asked for another technician to come since 4 visits and hundreds of dollars and still not working. New guy comes, does diagnostics and finds glass in pump drain. Removed it and it works. Company said they would refund costs for boards but would now charge another service fee of $119.00 to do what the first guy couldn't do! Then they recharged me for the two boards again instead of crediting me!! Chase has removed the charge but ASI refuses to credit me. Chase said they will remove all charges if needed. Have contacted Kitchen Aid but no return call yet. Guess I'll have to reach out thru Twitter. Sad companies can't do the right thing AND hire people that understand basic accounting skills. read more

Poorest excuse for an appliance repair shop ever. Rating them a 1 is too generous. My Whirlpool washer has a leak. The technician, has appeared 3 times to address this--none with any success. He realized on his 3rd visit that he had botched the diagnosis and what we had paid for as he had previously installed a gasket (from what appeared to be one salvaged from an older machine). A $257 gasket. The washer still leaked afterward and at his 3rd visit he announced: "I found the real problem, now": a hose with a pin sized leak. A hose costing less than $50. He had discarded what was a perfectly good gasket. The reconditioned one does not fit correctly and accordingly to Whirlpool it never will although hesaid it will conform over time. He left in a huff from this 3rd visit. At that point in time his office manager said they were not willing to order the hose and repair the machine. They were simply closing out the ticket as they didn't want to address this any longer. It's amazing to me that firms of this nature can even keep their doors open for business. We have discussed this matter with Whirlpool's corporate office. They placed us on hold during our last call and called ASI Appliance. ASI didn't refute any of the above. We have spent nearly $400 with ASI, which in ASI's hindsight should have cost about $100, and how if I want to repair our washing machine, I will need to replace the gasket and hose ]$300] and pay for another service call (with another repair shop) of approximately $100. read more

I set up an appointment with ASI to look at my KitchenAid dishwasher. The morning of the appointment I received a call from an out of town number which I chose not to answer. Thus, no one showed up for the call. I had already confirmed the appointment and explained that someone is home all day, everyday. If you don't answer your phone though, no one shows. I called to complain and got some really rude feedback from their employee - who I hung up on because she was so rude and unprofessional. When I called back to speak to a Manager, I was put on hold for almost 2 minutes so that Tracy(?) could get all of her "facts" from the person I had just spoken with and determine that I was wrong and they were right well before she heard anything from my point of view. When the tech came today, he determined that my dishwasher operates perfectly because when he pressed start and closed the door, it came on. No diagnostics or thorough analysis necessary. It works perfectly because it turned on. He didn't even bring in tools or anything. Basically, he walked through the door knowing he wasn't going to do anything to "fix" a problem. Also, he kept asking me if my wife uses the dishwasher more than me. That came off as very sexist to me. All we got from ASI was rudeness and a 2 minute dissertation on how we need to: run the hot water before we turn on the dishwasher, add more soap (because the pods are insufficient), and use a rinse aid (because rinse aids help clean dishes during the wash cycle.) What a useless company. Good for me it's a warranty call. Good for them it's a warranty call because there's no way I'd pay for their service. Too bad for KitchenAid that they are getting screwed by a company who is charging them for the privilege of running off customers. read more

This company is crap heed the warning. I didn't even receive service from these people (Thank God) they were just that terrible. To make a long story short whirlpool hires these crappy third party companies to fix their appliances which they are incapable of running a simple schedule properly. Whirlpool have the run around ( they suck too) so I informed to cancel the appointment because I was going to pay out pocket for the repair. These was about 3 weeks ago I get a call today saying " The truck is 5 min away for the repair" Excuse me ?! I wish 0 stars was an option. Assigned by KitchenAid warranty service. ASI said the requested warranty repair was "unnecessary ". But they found an uncovered issue with my refrigerator. The technician asked for half down and called in my credit card on his phone right in my kitchen. He didn't give me an invoice but said his office would email it to me. A week later he returned to install a missing grille/kickplate. This took less than five minutes and required no disassembly of any part of the refrigerator. He then charged me the total price as if I had not paid half. I showed him the credit card charge on my phone for the down payment. He said that was just for the part. I asked him to show me an invoice or get his office to email it to me right then. He did neither. So a $40-60 part and less than 5 minutes of labor came to a grand total of $380.42. And I still didn't get a final invoice. And I still don't know if my original requested warranty repair is resolved. read more

I will never use this company again and I would strongly advise that you avoid as well. We used ASI to repair our freezer. After telling us that it was a complex job that would likely require two people and parts, they quoted us $1000 plus a fee for the trip. As one of the few certified Whirlpool technicians, we decided to spend the money. All parts were under warranty. The repair only took one person. The total time was 2.5 hours. They still charged us $1000 effectively $400 per hour. After speaking with several people in their organization including the owner, they would not adjust the bill and still claimed it was a "big" job. I hope that you will not be fooled as well. Was directed to ASI when I called Jenn Air to find a company to fix my stove. (JennAir is now part of Whirlpool Appliances). Called ASI, was given a date and time for the service call. Very prompt arrival by the technician. Took two visits - first to diagnose the problem and the second to install the parts. Both times the service tech - Allan Louis was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Only complaint is the astronomical cost of getting appliance repaired - and I don't know if that has much to do with ASI. read more

I obviously should have checked the reviews before scheduling the service appointments with ASI Appliance. I contacted Whirlpool for our refrigerator as the ice maker stopped working and I also contacted JennAir for our cooktop as one of the burners stopped working. They both referred us to ASI Appliance. The first service tech that came out for the refrigerator was clueless and switched out a part that took him 5 minutes and charged us $400! Guess what? It still doesn't work properly. The ice gets stuck in the door and still doesn't dispense properly. The second service appointment the service tech was Dennis. He did a very good job but unfortunately some of the parts they ordered (knobs that control the individual burners) don't fit right. I contacted JennAir today and was told that they put the wrong knob on our cooktop! The second visit cost us just under $400. When I contacted ASI regarding this issue they couldn't be bothered even though their work is still under warranty. I contacted JennAir and ordered the correct parts directly myself today. I recommend trying another company for your repairs unless you enjoy poor customer service and being overcharged. read more

i am being kind with one star. these people have been out three times to repair the icemaker and on the initial visit was charged 620.00. unfortunately there is still no ice and they continue to come and say it is working properly. the function of the machine is to make ice and there is none. we purchased this built in kitchenaid ice machine from kiva kitchen and bath and regretfully ASI is who they contact for their repairs. read more

I have never written an online review before but I was prompted by the absolutely horrendous service I have received from this company. I have had to schedule a repair person to visit my home over 5 times for an issue that should have been resolved after 2 visits. It is now finally fixed *fingers crossed*. All of that would be bearable if there was some level of accountability from management. Instead I was on the receiving end of probably the worst phone interaction I have ever experienced with a service company. Strike that....with ANY company that I have ever interacted with...IN MY LIFE. Tracie is some sort of manager but also happens to be the stepdaughter of the owner. That, I guess, explains her total ambivalence towards her customers and total lack of professionalism. She is a perfect microcosm of the awful customer service provided by this company and has a total "it is not my fault or problem" type of attitude. And I see this is nothing new given the long list of terrible reviews this company has on the internet. read more
