Asia is the best Chinese restaurant in the Lehigh Valley. There is two reasons why: 1)The Food - The food is all absolutely delicious. The menu has a huge selection covering Thai, Japanese, and Chinese. There is also a Chinese menu that has authentic Chinese food. The beautiful thing is that there is very authentic food as well as very Americanized food to please all kinds of taste buds. Alex the owner and chef specializes in Cantonese food and this is definitely the highlight of the restaurant. You can get things you won't find elsewhere in the Lehigh Valley such as Peking Duck. Actually anything you want he will make for you if you call ahead. I'm a huge fan of the sauces that are used in the dishes. They are homemade and delicious. The homemade ice cream is fabulous too but they run out often. 2.)The Staff - The family that runs the restaurant are some of the nicest people around. If you come back a few times they will make you feel at home even remembering what you talked about last. The staff is very attentive and accommodating to the extreme. Alex the chef almost always comes out to see if you liked the food. He will literally make anything you want as well. This is truly a rarity. This place really takes customer service to another level. FYI Asia is BYOB. Asia is not open on Sundays. Okay first, as you see all these great reviews and you are driving to the restaraunt...keep something in mind...the restaraunt is on a really dark street and you are going to pull up to a .....HOUSE. You just heard that right. Don't be deceived....go inside...at this point I almost turned around. BUT THE FOOD IS AWESOME even the sweet fried noodles are so delicious, that I ate too much and couldn't finish my actual meal. Remember to bring your own booze...I always always forget this as a new Pennsylvanian. Seriously...the food rocked...fresh, awesome flavors and also...very attentive servers, we seriously had our own waitress that was spying on us from behind a screen watching our every move so she could fill up glasses the second they were half empty. A bit less than 5 stars, but still fantastic. While looking through Yelp for excellent Asian restaurants, this was in the top 2 or 3. So why not come here? Reviews were great and the restaurant advertised their Top 100 Chinese Restaurants status. Most people would underestimate the superiority of the food from the outside, which is only seen by one sign saying Asia Oriental Cuisine. The inside is very nice, a small space, though. Decor is beautiful, romantic ambiance, and comfortable chairs. There are two menus which I'm guessing are for every meal. There is an American/specials menu, and then there is the authentic menu. Coming from an area so close to Flushing, I have experienced very authentic Chinese dining experiences, but I would never have expected stomach and jellyfish at this hidden gem. Prices are reasonable, since the portions are huge. Service was fine and professional, even though we waited two or three minutes to be seated since the waitstaff didn't acknowledge us. Anyway, this place really filled up and was almost completely full by 6:00, with three large parties exceeding 6 people. We started off with a wonton soup and the steamed shrimp dumplings. The wonton soup was one of the best we have ever had. The shrimp dumplings weren't anything too special, although they were executed perfectly. The skin was not too thin, and the shrimp was quite delicious. I also had a mango bubble tea, which actually reminded me of the ones in Flushing. The mango was really powerful and the tapioca pearls were a nice additive, even though I still can't stand the texture. For entrees, we ordered the Jade chicken special, which I think had snow peas, broccoli, and string beans, all served in a brown sauce similar to one with chicken and broccoli. The sauce was really good, not too much lard, and the chicken and vegetables were all so good. We had ordered their specialty dish, the cumin beef, which we haven't had in ages. Maybe one of the best we have had. The cumin wasn't too overpowering like in other restaurants and the beef was so tender. A perfect dish. Now, my dish was probably the most interesting and out of the ordinary. I ordered the pork with enoki mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Wow! Who ever thought that combination would be such a success? Really well executed. The pork was perfectly cooked. The enoki mushrooms were so thin, that they acted like a noodle alternative. The bamboo shoots and the extras like the carrots were wonderful additives to the meal. This restaurant definitely met my expectations and shot past them. read more

I think they really hype themselves up on their website which resulted me in having way too high of an expectation. I had the curry chicken and stir fried noodles and let me tell you, it was not that great. I have had Chinese curry chicken plenty of times to know how it's supposed to taste and the one at Asia was so bland! The noodle dish was ok but nothing really special about it. I'm the type of person who will not go back for the second time if my first visit doesn't leave me with a good impression. The food was good. All thought I'm super picky about food. We got the vegetables lomen it needed some Smokey flavor. But it was good. The spring rolls was amazing. The crab Rangoon was the best I ever had. The pad Thai was okey. The arlene eggplants was phenomenal you have to get it. The serves was good but the waiter should be more friendly. And place is super cute. You get a free hot tea. All thought the place can use some music, it was super quiet kinda felt weird for the first 15 mins. We will be back again for sure. Let me make this abundantly clear. This place is truly amazing. Hands down the best Chinese food in all of lehigh valley. I have tried a least 8 other chinese food places in the lehigh valley and honestly nothing compares to the service and taste that Asia offers. I am actually glad that they don't deliver because if they did I would be twice as large. I could eat something new here everyday and not be disappointed. My all time favorite dish is their Ginger Honey Chicken. It puts sesame and general tso to shame in my opinion. Just get some white rice and a mixed vegetable dish to compliment it and you are looking at an amazing meal. This place is no better than the corner take away wok kitchen. If you eat in you'll be subjected to very high prices, OK service and ATTITUDE! The dine in food is very good, but the take out is horrible. I don't know if one chef does the take out and one does the dine-in, but whatever the case may be it is really awful. They do have some "special" dining nights where they offer unusual dishes, but those nights are way overpriced for what you get. They have two menus; One for Americans and one for Chinese....they NEVER ask you which one you want (both are in English and they are both different from one another). Ive been there 3-4 times and have been consistently disappointed. I've eaten in the far east, can cook chinese myself, and have been to much better restuarants even in the Lehigh Valley. Their chicken almond ding is not cantonese. Portions of their stir fries are raw. The noodles greasy. When I've eaten in the restuarant, the service was consistenly very slow, whilst the workers were busy chatting it up. (won ton soup, (made with chicken?) takes 30 minutes? come on. Eastern Chinese in Bethlehem is far better, and at least they seem to care. The whole "top 100 chinese restuarant" thing plastering their shop seems to be a scam, cause the food aint worthy. read more

The parking lot was packed on a recent Friday night when we dined here. It's a good sign, but can mean you're going to experience delays. Not here! We were greeted promptly, seated, and found the buffet area to be clean and well stocked with a delicious, hot and tasty selection of foods. My husband, son and I had a great meal. One thing we will always remember is the friendliness of the waitstaff. We were in Bethlehem for the purpose visiting Lehigh University, our son having just been accepted there. He brought a Rubik's Cube with him to the table, and was quietly solving it when he had finished eating. A waitress saw this and stopped to watch. Before long there were several onlookers amazed at the speed and efficiency with which he worked. They cheered at the quick work he made of solving the cube, and several of them said good bye to us as we left. For an empty Chinese restaurant with mediocre food, you'd think they would have been more friendly. We were welcomed by an angry elderly woman who barked, "You have reservations?" at us in greeting. Food was mostly just the typical Chinese-American fare and no better than any number of places close by. That said, the Mongolian beef was good enough to tip the scale and make this a salvageable experience. With friendlier or more attentive staff, it might have been good enough for me to try again. read more

Yummylicious! My hubby and I got takeout after reading all the rave reviews on Yelp and we weren't disappointed. We played it safe and ordered off the Americanized Chinese takeout menu: Genera Tso's Chicken and Beef, Kung Pao Chicken. The General Tso's was good, easily four stars, but the real star (to me at least) was the awesome Kung Pao. I mean, I usually don't even like Kung Pao Chicken and I still scarfed this stuff up. My family has lived in PA for 5 years and they are constantly bitching about how there's "no good food anywhere". So I decided to hop on Yelp and see if we could find some suitable places to eat. We came across Asia and the reviews seemed legit so we opted to try it out. We went on a Friday around 4:30 to miss the dinner rush. When we got there, we were the only ones in the restaurant which was awesome. The restaurant is very small so if you do go during a rush you'll probably have to wait. Our server was really great and friendly and offered some good suggestions. My girlfriend ordered the Hong Kong Noodles. I ordered Pad Thai. My dad ordered General Tsai's Chicken. My brother ordered Orange Chicken. My mom ordered Green Jade Chicken. And my sister ordered Kung Pao Shrimp. We also had egg drop and wonton soup. We basically pigged the f* out! haha I thought everything BUT the Pad Thai was good. I'm used to legit Pad Thai and this just didn't cut it. But everything else was fresh and delicious and delivered to our table quickly. The dishes could serve 2 or 3 people and it's served family style. All in all, I thought this place was good. My family said it's the best Chinese food they've had in PA thus far. I live in CA so I'm a bit of a snob, but they said they'd go there again so it was a success in my book! read more

I went there for my birthday two years ago. I think it's a beautiful restaurant and I was more than satisfied w/ my meal. However i haven't had the urge to go back for some strange reason. We were visiting Dorney Park when we decided to drive out to get dinner and decided on Asia. We were not disappointed. We ordered Shrimp Pad Thai, Shrimp Mei Fun, pork fried rice, a chicken and beef dish, and shrimp/scallop with ginger scallions. Overall the food was very good and my whole family enjoyed it. We actually called ahead and took the food to eat just outside Weis Supermarket (which was VERY close to DP) so that we may also get some munchies and not waste anymore time. Asia feels like home. Years after discovering this gem, I still can't get enough. From familiar to exotic, they've got it all, and it's all EXCELLENT. Sometimes simplicity is the best measure of excellence, so let's start there: the egg drop soup is the best I've ever had. Delicate threads of gently cooked egg in an elegant and flavorful broth, a pleasing pale yellow (none of that orange takeout goop!) Cold sesame noodles are out of this world (I prefer to order XX spicy), served with thinly sliced cucumber. The moran dumplings are exquisite - delicately steamed with fresh and flavorful shrimp. The lettuce cups have impressive table presence (order them & you'll see what I mean... also, the 3 accompanying sauces are amazing). Oh, and crispy noodles are served with duck and hot mustard sauce when you sit down... and they're not just any noodles: they're light golden, delicately fried in a flavorful oil, always perfectly fresh and crispy. On the more unique side, the crispy cumin beef is a welcome departure from predictable menu items - our wonderful server Deno turned us on to this curious delight. But beware: it is highly addictive. As far as I can tell this is indeed the best Asian restaurant in the valley. I especially like the Peiking duck, which is as good as I have tasted. I lived in the bay area for 11 years and never had anything that approaches Asia's Peiking duck. They have an excellent lunch menu at reasonable prices. I eat here several times per month. Avoiding I-95 traffic to Baltimore, we headed west on I-81, had a hankering for Chinese food and found this odd looking brick building on a windy road between Bethlehem and Allentown. Don't let the unusual setting cause you to get back in the car and miss one of the best Chinese meals you will have in Eastern Pennsylvania, maybe in all Eastern-Central Pennsylvania. The hot and sour soup was better than most I have had in New York or Washington, Shirley's eggplant was exquisite and the other dishes quite good. The honey chicken was pretty goopy, but tasty. Not sure what they should do about the goop, maybe less honey. The owner was very nice and service excellent. I would consider this restaurant a find, for anybody going through allentown. Directions were on my Acura GPS, wouldnt necessarily try to find it without GPS or by knowing your way around these two towns. read more

Read the reviews and decided to try this restaurant. Tiny side of the road place, parking is a little difficult. However, the food is out of this world delicious. I have been searching the Lehigh Valley for a Chinese restaurant, this one goes way beyond. The spring rolls are crisp and light, served with homemade sauces. I tried the Pad Thai, which came piping hot flavorful with a fresh and ample supply of chicken although you have a choice of protein. I also ordered the fried dumplings. They were hot and yummy. I am so elated to have found this place and will return frequently. Nothing is oily or has that off taste of reheated underlying rancid flavor of used oil which makes each item taste generic. Every item is hot and fresh and you CAN taste the difference. The staff is very friendly and took their time explaining the menu to me. I have found the best in the Valley for sure!!! read more
