I've eaten here on two occasions: the day before I buried my mother and following a Knott's visit. Kind of interesting to come here amidst taking big swings at atypical days. Asia Buffet has fed me both times. It is largely a seafood/Chinese takeout buffet so I usually dine in such places to support my traveling companions in their seafood gorging campaigns. That's right. I'm the proud, carb-loading fifth wheel who complains about getting full after my third plate of food. But a combo at Panda can run you $15. So for $27, AB is a pretty reasonable upgrade of ultra indulgence. I fill up on the takeout, American comfort and salad/fruit stations. No complaints, just the usual fare - which was replaced pretty often. The teriyaki chicken was particularly hitting with the most recent trip, and so was the mushroom chicken. I know. Buffet-basic, but they slapped. The majority of customers are about their business when they come here. You get your table, you get your heaps of snow crab legs, clams or crawfish, and you get out. After two visits, after having embarked on a spectrum of life things, I've realized this is an effective site at which to stuff your face and eat your various feelings. Cheap prices, but you get what you pay for. $24.99/person for dinner on a weekend. The food here was below average to mediocre. I lost my appetite quickly. The food didn't taste fresh and majority was cold. I disliked almost everything I ate. On top of their extensive selection, they have a wide selection of seafood: crab, shrimp, crawfish, snails, clams, sushi, and more. Dessert and ice cream is available. My group ate tons of crab, clams, and snails, which they said they enjoyed especially for the price. The sushi and sashimi were low quality and lack flavor, similar to grocery store sushi. The orange chicken was dry and broccoli beef was too chewy and tasted like rubber. On the bright side, I enjoyed the coffee ice cream which gave me a mini energy boost. Staff quickly refilled food so all options were available. Employees were helpful, providing us with a crab leg cracker when we asked. I did notice some plates were wet. I have to start this review with 'OMG.' Remember how I said I go to Dada Shabu Shabu once a week? If you missed that, never mind, lol. But this Asian buffet is another staple in my weekly routine. If you think this is just like any other generic Asian buffet, you are dead wrong. The food here is seriously delicious (well, I can't say every single dish, but most of them). There are a few things I don't care for, but the quality and freshness of most dishes are on a completely different level compared to those cheap buffets. The fruit is always fresh. The dishes I usually go for are the steamed white fish, BBQ ribs, the shrimp and squid dish, and the chicken and mushroom dish--sorry, I don't really know the exact names of the dishes, lol. Their clam chowder is really good too. They also occasionally serve fried flounder, and it is absolutely delicious. They have a crawfish dish as well, but I ate so much of it before that I'm taking a break from it right now, haha. Went for father's Day; party of four. 1PM, Long line, received a ticket, at hostess station. 15 minute wait, no speaker system so we were all crowded around the front entrance waiting for our number to be called. Staff were efficient and nice. Took our order for drinks as we sat down. I ordered ice tea. Joined the group securing plates as we moved around the Buffett serving stations. Lots of people waiting on the crab station. All stations were clean and filled with the different courses. Very loud inside due to number of people and acoustics. Hmm... I've been going to Asia Buffet for years because my family loves going here. I would normally give this place 4 stars. Their sushi is normally fresh, but I think their items may have been left out too long and the mayo in the CA rolls went bad, so my stomach hurt after my recent meal there. I would come here again but I would avoid the sushi rolls and stick to the fresh Mongolian bbq grill. The noodles are delicious and the flavor is on point. The honey "walnut" without the walnut lol is good, and their chow mein/fried rice go with everything. The fried chicken is surprisingly good for a buffet and I like their grilled sweet potato. There is fresh fruit, a Vietnamese chè duong nhan (translated to "dessert to preserve your beauty") made with white mushroom and goji berries, mini sesame balls with red bean, and ice cream you can enjoy at the end of your meal. Service is great and I normally get seated right away. If not, there is hardly any wait and you will get seated quickly. The staff is quick to clear your plates. Was a year ago that I have tried this place for the first time and we came in for lunch and this time I came by to try out their Dinner. Wanted to know what differs from their Lunch and Dinner time. I was not disappointed by the variety of food they had and sashimi's but the salmon sashimi had frozen chunks in there so let's say I was disappointed on that part. Everything else were great. Their food were actually flavorful. They do offer Mongolian dishes Their ice cream bar are hand scooped, variety would be nice. They had 3-4 giant containers of Coffee ice cream. I definitely couldn't give a scoop of that to my one year old. One thing I can say is that this place is very tight. With everything they offer, they do need a bigger location. By far the worse food and service I have ever encountered! Some of their so-called hot foods were lukewarm! Disgusting and dangerous I might add. I asked to speak to a manager from the young lady that was carrying the seating iPad. No one came! Then I flagged a "server" and actually walked her over to some of the food and showed her the food was lukewarm warm. Some of the food items were hot but not what I was eating! She didn't seem concerned and probably laughed about it with the other employees. I was getting a little irritated still and decided to flag down someone, anyone! I managed to ask the server for a manager and she said they went home.... "No manager here" on a Friday night! I doubt it. My mom went to dine at this buffet, slipped on wet floor, and fell. She cracked her head against the chair before tumbling onto the ground. No assistance was provided to her while she was down. No concern nor bother asking if she was okay. They only gawked in silence. We only expected some common decency from the staff to someone that just injured themselves. There was no Wet Floor sign placed as a warning. She asked for the manager but we were told there were none present; we weren't even provide a way to contact the manager. This is frustrating because she is in her 60s and a fall like this is concerning at this age. She left the restaurant with a bruise below her right cheek and on her legs. There's usually bowls in a bin by the fruits but that bin remained empty during the time I dined here and I would have to try and walk against traffic of people to get a bowl and try to make my way back to that section. The Asia Buffet is now open for lunch and dinner. The food is okay and the price is really exceptional. However, the facilities is rather getting old and shows the age. The restroom needs monitoring. I used it now twice within a month with our church group going there for group dinner. The restroom smells and the urine spill at the urinal is not cleaned up. The plates were not washed too well, as I picked up two different plates and they both were still wet and had food sediments on the plates. I had to go and find a dried up plate to see if it was clean. The place is frequented by families with all ages and all races, with mostly Latinos and Asians. Food was fine. Service was fine until it came time to pay. We had multiple checks at our table which is greatly appreciated, however they misplaced my card and check. Have been going here for many years, over 15 years i think. The food is not bad, but they have gotten rid of snow crabs which is a big bummer. The last time i came there were "lobsters" but they were gone super fast, when i got to it there were only some lobster tiny skinny legs with no meat. The food was actually decent for the price, but the service completely ruined the experience. We came here hoping for a nice family dinner, and while the buffet itself had a decent variety and tasted okay, the service was incredibly disappointing. Our server, an Asian lady, had a major attitude from the start. We politely asked for extra utensils to help with the crab, but instead of assisting us, she was too busy chatting with the other staff. We had to wave her down after being ignored for quite a while--just to get something simple like a crab cracker. Later on, while clearing our plates, she spilled leftover food on the floor and on the chair where my grandma had just been sitting. What really bothered me was that she saw it happen and didn't say a single word--no apology, no acknowledgment--just walked away like nothing happened and went right back to talking with her coworkers. My grandma was literally walking back to her chair at that moment. If she hadn't seen the food on the ground, she could've slipped and seriously hurt herself. We brought it up to another lady at the front--possibly the manager--and her response was, "Well, anyone can drop food." That level of indifference really shocked me. If that's the management's idea of accountability, then I can't imagine the service improving anytime soon. Overall, food was okay, but the service made the whole meal uncomfortable. Came here on a Sunday morning right after they opened and dang, it's good thing we didn't wait because an hour later, the line was out the door! In typical Asian restaurant fashion, don't expect warm fuzzies when you come here. They aren't mean, just efficient. Say what you need and move on. They do take your drink order and fill them for you if you need refills, even though you can walk up to the machines and serve yourself. There was a lot of employees hanging around, which mean (for the most part) empty plates were picked up quickly. Our bill was delivered in a timely fashion as well, which was usual for a buffet are you usually pay up front. I assume maybe some drinks are extra? Anyway, you pay your server when you leave. In our case, we paid cash and left a tip so didn't hang around for change. The food was good, but fairly average. There wasn't anything we hated, but nothing we want to run home and tell mom about. Basically, you go to a buffet to either gorge yourself, or try small sampling of several types of food. Nothing is labeled so you better know your Chinese food. Don't know what it is but want to try? Just take a small serving and check it out. We don't do buffet's very often so I can't say when/if we'll be back. Do yourself a favor and listen to the bad reviews. I tried about 70% of the items offered in the buffet and honestly only liked 3-4 things. Sushi is falling apart/not rolled properly, food in trays is all cold and soggy. Your food is either going to be extremely under seasoned or severely over seasoned. I felt like I was going to get food poisoning the entire time I was eating. Everything was so greasy. The cut sashimi tasted sour. My boyfriend literally had to leave after two plates to get sick in the bathroom. The service was uhh something...Our table was right by the server area with their bags/belongings and I watched multiple cases of sexual harassment between the servers.
