The buffet was $18-$20 (price dependent on drink you choose). There was a nice small variety of foods to choose from like lechon, pancit, lumpia, longanisa, and more. My favorites were the lechon and longanisa. The lechon was so crispy and juicy. I have never eaten longanisa as a whole sausage before and I loved it! It was sweet and went so good with rice. The people running the place were so friendly and great. This is such an authentic place.

Add in one of the nicest old ladies I have ever met and you have yourself a great build up. This is a restaurant which happens to stock some Filipino snacks and dry goods on one wall. The tables are old and weather-worn. The buffet is 18 trays of hot food, plus a condiment area and some desserts and coffee. For $18 it's all you can eat and soda or water is included. In downtown Miami that's madness. But the food. Downright amazing. You eat off paper plates on a cafeteria style tray. It is simple. And it is awesome. I served myself a bite of about 12 dishes, tasted them all, enjoyed them all, and went back for second of the best stuff. There are signs posted gently asking you only take as much as you can eat and that is totally reasonable. It's all you can eat man - take a little and if you want more go back! No big deal. But whereas some restaurants post these signs as a threat, the old lady was imploring us to go get another plate as we finished our first and second. Sorry granny I'm full!! Then she insisted we eat some desserts. She wants you to eat and I just loved that. For a woman pushing 80 she has energy and frankly, she is reason enough to visit. Fantastic experience. One of my all-time favorite Miami restaurants and it was like $22. Crazy.

There isn't any Filipino spots in Miami for real so this is the only place that I could find in Wynwood. I don't get why people say that this spot is far from Filipino food when it is obviously supposed to show Filipino food in a creative way and showcase street food too... But I'm glad I experienced it for myself and enjoyed my time. The chicken BBQ skewers tasted exactly how it was supposed to. So I know it was marinated appropriately and cased with banana ketchup!!!! I appreciate the chicken lumpia option. Not many people serve lumpia options that aren't beef or pork... so that definitely won me over too. My only complaint was that the beef tapas was not hitting the way it was supposed to. It was giving more of a bistek feel than tapas. I hope that I just caught them on a bad day or that they can refine that recipe. I'm hopeful that it can improve. ALSO -- really loved that Jamaican tea they have. Forgot the exact name of it. But I could drink gallons of it. Lol.

The extra spicy vinegar I ordered on the side wasn't spicy at all. The veg carrots and tomato sorta didn't blend all that well and the garlic rice was just there. The idea of the bowl is good but execution in flavors just wasn't there for me. I'd rather have gone to fresh kitchen.

Back in a small retail area near SE 17th Street, this restaurant apparently opened in late 2019 and then had to close because of the pandemic. But it returned and now offers homemade food with terrific service. The place is small, seating about 30 in an at-home-at-the-dining-table style. Our server, who I think was an owner, was very friendly and even helped us choose a dish. We had to have lumpia, because it was one of the first Filipino foods we ever tried (decades ago). Although these were good, my friends' (shoutout to Analisa and Belinda) native eggrolls were much better. For our main entrees we had the adobosilog and the tapsilog. The adobo dish came with white rice topped with a fried egg, some shaved carrots, a couple of slices of cucumber and tomato. The adobo, though a tad salty, had a delicious soy-vinegar flavor and brought me back to the dish my pal Joe made for us a couple of times. The tapsilog was shaved beef that came with the same accompaniments but it was so salty that I had to mention it when the lady asked me how things tasted. She went and told the chef. (I did not complain about the adobo.) And he insisted that the price of the meal be removed from our bill. Ummm. OK. We splurged on dessert and shared the last piece of Ube (purple yam) cake (bought from an outside vendor) and a halo-halo. The cake was smooth and not too sweet. The halo-halo was shaved ice with ice cream, milk, and a variety of ingredients including beans, corn, and plain gelatin cubes. You have to mix it all up to get a good flavor. Hubby did not care for it because it was not sweet enough (yet he refused to add some condensed milk). It was my favorite dish of the entire meal. (I love cold, creamy, not-so-sweet desserts.) The portions don't match the price. While you get a humungous mound of rice, the meat is skimpy and entrees average about $20 each. And like most small places, there is a surcharge if you use a credit card instead of cash. Even with one meal removed, our bill was about $55 and would have been closer to $80. We do plan to go back and try some other dishes. Let's hope the salt content has lessened. (Remember chef: you can add salt but you can't remove it.)

There's an 18% service charge added to the check. Contrary to what a lot of reviews have noted, we weren't required to buy bottled water when we asked for water. When I tried it, I noticed it wasn't sweet at all, so I asked my husband to go back and let them know. The woman at the register admitted they had forgotten to add the condensed milk. Unfortunately, by the time my husband returned to the car, the halo-halo had become watery from sitting while they corrected the mistake. What upset me most wasn't the mistake itself--everyone makes mistakes. It was the way we were treated afterward. Instead of apologizing, the employee blamed the weather and said, of course, it melted because my husband had taken it outside. She even rolled her eyes and gave us an attitude, as if the situation was somehow our fault. As long-time customers, we expected better customer service. A simple apology and a more courteous response would have gone a long way. I hope management addresses this, because we've always enjoyed coming here and would hate to see customer service decline.

It definitely was a hefty wait for the empanadas that has been trending on social media. You can tell that it is somewhat disorganized, as there was only one person outside helping with clearing the dishes, serving the dishes; one person taking orders from a nonstop line and one male in the back working up to go orders. I feel like if there was more organization, it would be better. However, the empanadas were very filling. One empanadas is enough to provide all the protein servings in a day. We ordered the beef empanadas, and it was definitely filled to the brim. It was an interesting take, with Filipino flavors of beef and cabbage stuffed inside, with a side of soy sauce vinaigrette. I also noticed a whole lechon placed on the table beside the cashier that looked like it is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I would love to come back on a less busy day to try the hot foods on the menu and maybe give a better rating next time.

It's a small mom-and-pop place with an eclectic decor that really falls under a "hodgepodge" look. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The place was quite busy and we could only see about two or three people that seemed to be working there. But there were more in the back. However, maybe a total of four or five. And there had to be about 30 patrons in the dining room, not to mention a nonstop line at the register. We ordered within 15 minutes of seating oursleves. But waited an hour and a half for our food. (Inquired several times. Got frustrated and almost left. But as luck would have it, it was one of our very few lazy Saturday afternoons. So, we decided to wait it out.) While we waited, we browsed the grocery area that displayed all sorts of chips, crackers, and sauces. There are even refrigerators and freezers with items to be purchased. (I got a bag of frozen Ube buns.) When the food arrived, it was (almost) worth the wait. We got four Fiesta Specials, with shrimp chips, lumpia, pancit, rice and adobo. (Three of us got pork adobo, one had chicken.) The pancit was ok (not salty like some reviewers reported), and the lumpia was crunchy and satisfying. Both adobos were perfect. The meat was moist and the vinegary soy sauce flavor was just right. We couldn't finish our meals (besides, we needed a little room for dessert). So, we brought home leftovers and shared a bowl of Halo Halo. I love the mixture of flavors and textures, the sweets, the beans, and the cool shaved ice. We got 2 pork and 2 beef empanadas to go (for dinner). We were surprised at our bill of more than $160. Our meals were about $19 each. The dessert was about $10. But the empanadas were $11 each for pork and $14 each for the beef. (Say what?) Plus my bag of frozen Ube buns. The empanadas were hefty (about the size of a large hand) and came with an accompanying soy sauce mixture. With a crunchy pastry pocket filled with meat and cabbage filling, it is big enough for a meal. But we didn't care for the extreme greasiness. Would prefer to spend that money on more adobo. I asked one of the ladies what would be the best time to visit the eatery to avoid the crowd and the long wait times. "Monday through Wednesday," she said. "We are always busy the rest of the week." The food is worth five stars. But combined with the slow and disorganized service, sadly I could only give it four stars.
