A co-worker of mine recommended this place. This is our go-to restaurant for Chinese food. Please note, they do not serve sushi at this time. Take-out with dine-in options available. They offer vegetarian options and plenty of meat options, too. My partner is gluten-sensitive and has been able to find plenty of dishes to eat including Mei Fun. Portions are big and you get plenty of rice. Family run business, Kind staff, and Clean restaurant. On the way out, you can take what you need of soy sauce, duck sauce, utensils, etc. You know it's a good place when you see the local Police Officers stop in for take-out. We were ecstatic after finding out through the community Facebook page they were open again after a few months of Covid. We've always liked their food and the friendliness of all the staff, but the food was delicious ! I am so glad this place opened and there's awesome Asian food in Kutztown. I usually get california rolls when I get sushi, and they always taste fresh. When it's Chinese I like the standard stuff- spring rolls, cashew chicken, crab rangooon. They always get my order right, it's so quick and it's reasonably priced. There also deliver if you are close by, although I have only used that option once since they are so close. Our family sometimes gets takeout on Christmas eve, and a few years ago we just ordered a whole bunch of stuff and shared it family style at home and it was all tasty and fresh, well prepared and well seasoned. Had OK takeout from there twice, the third time we thought we would try the sushi. We ordered a salmon roll and a yellowtail roll. The salmon roll was mediocre and lukewarm. The yellowtail on the other hand was absolutely disgusting. When we got back with our takeout my girlfriend ate a piece without looking and said it tasted bad. Upon my inspection, the yellowtail fish inside the roll was brown and rotted. I have eaten a lot of sushi, just look at my other reviews, I've worked for two restaurants that serve sushi, and I have never seen fish that off. See my attached picture and judge for yourself. We took it back for a refund, and they tried to tell me that yellowtail always looks like that, an absolute blatant lie. Got my refund and left, never to return again. I've never had a bad experience here and I do believe it's the best place for Chinese/Japanese in the town of kutztown. They are friendly, never got my order wrong, and the food is fresh and flavorful. I got the Hunan chicken dinner combo (with white rice instead of fried) and it had those tasty little black beans in it, fresh vegetables, and a reddish sauce. It came with a crispy egg roll. I also tried the chicken yakitori which came with two skewers of chicken, green pepper, and onion chunks. It wasn't seasoned much but would've been nice with some sort of dipping sauce. We've had takeout from Asian Cuisine a few times, I've never actually eaten there in person. The takeout menu is the typical Chinese offerings on the one side and sushi on the other. I've only personally had the Chinese items, but one of my co-workers has had the two roll sushi special a few times. That comes with soup, and you would think she could have wonton or egg drop soup if she'd like -- nope, miso is the only possibility. :/ That's disappointing because I'm sure they all cost about the same to make. The lunch specials are *just* the entree with pork fried rice in a round plastic dish. Nothing else, no soda, no egg roll, no soup, etc. The Chinese food lunches are $5.95 - $6.25. The flavor is good, but I'm used to getting a soup included too. If you want an egg roll with your lunch, you might as well upgrade to the dinner portion, it's another $2 and also gives you a larger portion of the entree (it's a the Chinese food plastic rectangle container if that helps you gauge the size). I've gotten food from here a few times and have always been a bit underwhelmed, but this latest experience really takes the cake. I decided to try their sushi and have never been more disappointed. I ordered a spicy crab roll and a spicy tuna roll. Those are typically served as just the meat rolled in nori and rice, and no where on their site or in their menu lead me to believe otherwise. However, when I got home with my rolls (I picked up my order), there was just a TINY amount of meat, half cucumber, and the rest filled with tempura crunch. Seriously? Part of the reason I order these rolls are because I despise cucumber. If you're going to go cheap on your basic rolls, then at least put it on the menu so I get the choice of getting them or not. The one special roll I got (the Angry Fish Roll) was decent, but the fish tasted over cooked and dry (how does that even HAPPEN?) and sub-par in quality. In addition, my boyfriend got the General Tso's Chicken, extra spicy. It came bland with very little flavor at all, let alone any actual kick. He liked the lo mein, but I don't think that's enough to warrant more than one star. read more

Best Chinese food near Kutztown! Personally I find the white rice a little lacking but that's not why anyone gets Chinese food. Asian Cuisine is a casual Chinese/Japanese restaurant located in the Weis Plaza in Kutztown, located southwest of the Kutztown Bypass (US 222). They offer takeout and a cozy full service dining room with booths & tables and a small sushi bar. They do not serve alcohol here, but it's a BYOB restaurant. I stopped in here for dinner recently and decided to eat in. I decided to stick with the Chinese side of the menu on this visit. I ordered some hot tea and the C25 Scallops with Cashew Nuts ($8.25) served with pork fried rice & egg and got Boiled Dumplings (7 for $5.15), The dinner entree C25 (Scallops with Cashew Nuts and Pork Fried Rice) arrived to my table in prompt fashion. The main entree had mostly vegetables including chopped carrots, celery, mushrooms, baby corn, water chestnuts, cashews, and small pieces of chopped scallops in the brown sauce. The golden yellow fried rice had a soft texture with a mix of carrot, peas, onion, and small pork pieces. The egg roll and boiled dumplings arrived to my table about 7 minutes after the entree was served, I was almost done with dinner. The egg roll was freshly made in house,and deep fried golden which was filled with shredded cabbage & ground pork in a crisp wrapper, minimal grease. The boiled pork dumplings were big in size which were filled with ground pork balls in thick soft dough pockets, dumpling soy sauce provided. Overall, the food was good and the service here could improve. The timing of the servings was off with the entree served first and the appetizers afterwards. Also, I was given the check as I finished the last dumpling and no offer to order dessert (they had ice cream desserts). Critic on sushi, this is a new restaurant and some Chinese food is a bit expensive sushi is reasonable. Seaweed salad is amazing, the lunch specials are worth it. Sorta disappointed in my miso soup because there was a single piece of seaweed in it and another place I went to one near me and it had more. I ordered with my mom: Sakura Sashimi, Sushi Lunch(both lunch specials Tues-Sat 11am-3pm) and Tuna Tataki. Sashimi is slabs of fish! It's massive, it's great just wonderful to have. It's somewhat small inside but it's hiding in the plaza of weis. It's straight ahead of the stop sign when you enter. The sushi is fresh and amazing! I love the food here, and would give it 5 stars because this is where we get our Chinese with China King going down hill. They have a great mix of Japanese and aBut, I had a weird issue today where I ordered for pick up. I showed up and they apparently gave my order to another person. They apologized and said they would make more, which I wasn't happy about as I timed my pick up perfectly. The guy that grabbed the wrong food came back in around 10 minutes later and they asked me if I wanted the original order! I said no, I wanted the new order and waited. They said they started making my replacement order, but apparently they didn't, so, more waiting. Maybe it was an honest mistake, and the language barrier didn't help, but still frustrating. I have to write this review, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER THEIR YELLOWTAIL SUSHI! I am begging you. I have went to this place a few times, food was OK. Nothing worth writing about but a few nights ago my boyfriend wanted to buy me a sushi roll and according to some posts it was suppose to be 'the best sushi in Kutztown'. The fish was BAD! Very bad, smelt bad and I tried a piece and had an upset stomach for 2 days. The lady who worked at the front showed us the yellowtail stating 'look, it looks like this' I have NEVER seen (I have been to many sushi places, and work at a place just like that) Yellowtail that was brown. Yellowtail is suppose to be Pink and red! It was rotten. I can never go back, we got a refund on the roll and left if they are serving that I do not wish to know how old their meat is! Also other key points, the dry noodles are stale! Please do not think that is what dry noodles should taste like...also there rice is too light. They use the regular rice in their sushi rolls (a big no-no) but it is very light. We are usually happy with our take out from here. Tonight we had to wait an hour and 15 minutes for delivery. We live 2 blocks from the restaurant. We made a trip to the place to pick up our order ourselves. It was our for delivery already. Food arrived cold and flavorless. I love the Japanese side of the menu. I definitely would recommend the steak teriyaki and eel avocado roll.The food is a bit expensive, which is bad because I'm a collage student and have little amount of money.
