I'll start with the good: The steamed dumplings were great. The bad: This was the worst pad thai I have ever eaten. We ordered mild but the dish was spicy, with no other flavor, and low quality chicken. We also ordered a chicken dish which had little flavor and the same low quality chicken. Asian Harbor is our go-to for Chinese delivery in the city, mainly because they deliver sushi along with standard Chinese fare. My husband always gets noodles or fried rice or some other "Chinese specialty" but I stick with the sushi and egg drop soup. They also have a great soup that has crabmeat and asparagus in a light broth, but you need to order a big container of it so I rarely get it. The sushi is actually tasty but can be pricey unless you get their 3 rolls for $8.75 deal. Asian Harbor has honestly the best spicy tuna roll I have ever had. I don't have high expectations for sushi, so I would take that last comment with a grain of salt, but honestly it's good. The tuna is almost shredded and is mixed with a lightly spicy mayo and something crunchy, which gives it some texture. it's really good. I also like that you can customize rolls in their online ordering (I like to add avocado to my salmon roll). Delivery is fast (especially when you order online) and the delivery guys are always friendly. There is one in particular who has gotten to know us and always says hi to our dog... he gets an extra tip every time! They have a discount code for when you order from their website, so I would recommend always ordering online. The times that I have called, the woman who answers the phone is very friendly, which can be hard to find at Chinese delivery restaurants.The only thing I would change is for them to be open on Mondays, since I always seem to crave sushi then. read more

Let's start with time for delivery; ordered 7pm, arrived 945pm. Unacceptable. Food: the green curry chicken; bland, incorrect preparation, and poor spice. Completely uninspired The steamed pork dumplings; doughy balls not suitable for anyone. The fact they pass this off as dumplings has literally made me lose faith in Chinese cuisine in America Egg rolls; fried coleslaw. Maybe if they spent the time to cleaning the fryer, they could turn a product that doesn't remind me of petrified excrement Walnut shrimp; a fried dish with sugar. How do you mess this up? It legitimately depressed me. Price; I'd comment here, but price is tied to value. Something that was absent during this meal. My love obsession with Asian Harbor has officially ended. Their value combos are a great value. Their food is decent enough for quick take-out. However, I have ordered delivery twice over the last week....the same order to the same address that I have been ordering for about a year now. General Tsos Tofu and a Diet pepsi. Both times they messed it up (orange tofu, YUCK! the first night and general tso's chicken- not appropriate for a veg meal- tonight). Both times they brought a replacement, but both times it was wrong again in that it was fried rice instead of white. And tonight...when all I wanted after a 14 hour day at work was to have someone deliver awesome to my doorstep, can you believe the delivery driver had the audacity to ask me for the general tso's chicken back? Starving, I had eaten part of the rice already (thankfully since it was the only white rice that I was going to get)...talk about not having their shit together and crap customer service. Thankfully, after calling the restaurant, he was told that I could keep the food, so at least I had white rice to compliment my new messed up order. The food is good, but it is not that good. I dig the deals! $8.25 for a dinner combo with your choice of rice (white, fried, brown) and a side (wonton, shrimp toast, can of soda, etc.)... you just really can't beat it. Plus Asian Harbor offers friendly service and delivery. I ordered through grubhub and was so thankful to find a decent Asian restaurant that delivers with sufficient noms. Ordered the drunken noodle and chicken yat gaw mein and extra brown sauce. I love drunken noodle, I asked for medium spicy, could have been a little spicier. Something was missing may be more of the spices. I had one set back, just as I was finishing I got a migraine with the aura, there must have been some MSG in it. Two hours later after meds and sleep I was hungry so I ate the yat gaw mein, no problem there. I've ordered the sushi before and enjoyed it. Our delivery order arrived 1.5 hours late, which would be understandable because I imagine a ton of people were ordering in because of the cold weather. What was not understandable was not calling us to let us know that it would be that late. Almost everything we ordered was bland. The hot n' sour soup was hot, but not sour and it had way too much cornstarch. It tasted like someone had put a chili pepper in water with cornstarch. I found the dumpling wrappers were too thick. The chow fun was also bland. The texture of the noodles were good, but it tasted as if just plain oil was drizzled on it. The eggrolls were bland. The only dish that had any flavor was the walnut shrimp and it was still sub par. My boyfriend made the mistake of ordering Thai from this place. Again, the green curry was bland. It tasted only of chili. There was no complexity to it. There was no sweetness to the dish at all. There was no flavor of coconut in it. Basically, this place does not know how to use garlic, ginger, or any flavoring for that matter. All I wanted in the end was a fortune cookie, because that is one thing that they can't mess up, but they did, because there were none in our order. All around fail. However the drunken noodle was only mildly spicy when I specifically ordered very spicy. They provided no utensils: neither chopsticks nor forks. The dinner combo for Drunken Noodles is only $7.95 and it comes with a choice of white / fried rice and a choice of egg roll, crab rangoon or soup. Pretty good deal! Delivery charge is $1.00 and the food comes fast. The delivery people are always friendly. Once they delivered while the snow was coming down and they came in about 35 min (when they estimated about 45 min to 1 hour) and the delivery guy was apologizing profusely. read more

I write this with regret. I have been a loyal customer of Asian Harbor for around 2 years. Tonight, I had a bug or spider in my won ton soup. They offered to refund the soup and remake the order. The last thing I want is MORE food from a place that already served us bugs. It totally grossed my family out and we tossed the rest of the food. I understand businesses needing to protect themselves from jerks who try to rip them off, but I am not one of those people, and my Order Up order history can prove it. I was so happy to find a restaurant that delivered Chinese and Thai to my not so trendy neighborhood I ignored the 3 star rating and ordered the garlic shrimp and sweet and sour shrimp. The sweet and sour shrimp were good, big and cooked just right. the garlic shrimp. There was a large dill pickled hacked up in it and broccoli that was under cooked. Why? My go to Chinese in Baltimore city. The best option used to be ordering through their own website (reduced prices for online orders or cash payments), but since they joined GrubHub, they seem to have disabled their own site. The food isn't the greatest I've ever eaten, but as far as Baltimore takeout options go it is definitely passably decent, well priced, and quickly delivered. The lunch and dinner specials (main plus rice, salad, and a side) are particularly good value. Favorites include the General Tso's, kung pao chicken, and roast pork lo mein. The spring and egg rolls are usually crispy and tasty, and the steamed pork dumplings are good too. The wonton soup is only ok. At quieter times, the quality improves as the food arrives rapidly and has had less time to sit and lose heat and crispness. They also do a decent job with sushi, particularly some of the specialty rolls, and do a good 3 for $12 deal on some of the more basic roll options. Will be happily sticking with AH for the foreseeable future! read more

Great Chinese food. The egg drop soup was the perfect color, consistency, and taste. Simply delicious. The Shrimp Lo Mein also excellent! I couldn't get enough. The orange tofu and fried rice was also good. I was very disappointed by the Volcano roll. The spicy mayo sauce just ruined it. Plus the sauce covered the fish so I couldn't see it to know how fresh it looked. The side salads were a great bonus with the order. I'd give them four stars for the Chinese food.
